Selene Corvinus In the underworld things don't just go unnoticed.

Alexander's meeting with Selene, and Elektra was very much seen. Since then, he's had a growing level of interest in observing him from afar, learning as much as they can about him.

While he and Thea were at the campus of the university, they'd been watched from the shadow. Two individuals in normal drab clothing, young men, one with sunglasses and the other with a beanie cap on. They appeared like average tourists, but were still following the pair even now as they go to find some dinner together. It's a cold night, but at least its not snowing or raining, just cold and wintery air that chills the bone if one doesn't find ways to keep warm. The city is bustling as ever, cars packing the main streets, and bodies packed in clumps on the sidewalks as they follow the orderly paths of society.

The two men just trail along after Alex and Thea, keeping their distance though.
Alexander Aaron     When he's watched from afar there really is little to see of the youth's life. At least of late. School was a prominent part of his life, with the classes filling his days. Then he'd return home where their surveillance likely came up with little. He barely broke routine, a creature of habit in some ways.
Of course... that habit broke when the young woman known as Thea Queen made her appearance. She showed up on the steps of the science building and he had come to life with easy amusement and laughter. The two had wandered around campus, walked hither and yon, even as he explained the places and their roles. Then they had headed off as the night arrived toward dinner. He in his big pea coat, her in her thick fur one.
Yet he was an individual that had a measure of awareness to him beyond the norm.
They had taken a turn onto a side street as they wandered. He suggested a few different restaurants they had goofed on each other, enjoyed each other's company. But then there was a moment when he paused to look at something in a store's window.
And that likely made the men who were following them act a touch out of the ordinary. Sidelong he says to her with a smile, "I think we're being followed."
Thea Queen Thea Queen is no dunce. Even if she is dressed like this vapid heiress with that thick fur coat and hat (all designer clothing, of course). Expensive shoes, jewelry. Look, some people just enjoy looking good and Thea is one of those people. So when Alexander stops to look at a window and mentions they are being followed she only smiles politely. "Is that so?"

The tone implies she may had figured that out already even if it borders on the sarcastic. She does that well, too! Yet it may come as a surprise that she noticed it. She only arches her brows, continuing in polite conversation as if they were just talking at the lovely little black dress that Alexander is appraising right now. "And what do you intend to do about it?" she then finally asks.

She knew it. She should had brought a weapon somewhere. At least more than the knife she has inside her purse. She lets out a brief sigh.
Selene Corvinus both of the men tracking and observing the couple stop when Alex stops with Thea. The one in the hat takes out a phone and looks down at it, tapping away on the screen while the one in the shades just looks up and down the street like he's waiting for a car, or something. It's not very convincing that they are not following the two.

A few moments later and a car does turn down this street though, two shadowy figures inside the front of it. It moves slowly toward Alex and Thea's spot before it pulls off the road on to the side street and in front of an alleyway.

The two men inside it get out. One has long blonde hair, while the other has none at all, both are wearing black Carhart style clothing as they walk around the vehicle and come to stand beside it.

Both openly stare at Alex and Thea... not hiding anything at this point.

The other two, the original two, start to walk toward Thea and Alex from the other direction...

This doesn't look good. Either this is about to get bad, or some diplomacy is in order...
Alexander Aaron     Scritching his chin thoughtfully, Alexander looks at Thea's reflection in the glass, smiling to her with that same half-smile he uses for most occasions. It's the one that gives him that oh so vacuous, lazy, yet handsome look that most the world knows him by. It's when that car rolls to a stop across the street that he murmurs, "I had a few thoughts."
There's a tilt of his head slightly to the side and then he adds, "I don't suppose there's anything I can say to you to perhaps encourage you to seek safety while I deal with it?" Which is perhaps a truly pointless thing to ask when he looks in her eyes in that reflection.
But he smiles anyways and points at the little model train in that window that's going around and around its elaborate Winter setting. "Alright, fine, follow my lead?"
She might or might not. Thea 'Wildcard' Queen did her own thing! But for now Alexander then turns to continue walking.
But oh no, there are people looking at him and Thea! He affects a look of surprise. "Oh hello," He takes a step forward and to the side interposing himself between Thea and the others. Protective? Perhaps. More likely to give her cover to draw that knife without being noticed.
Thea Queen "And any you want to share with the audience..." Thea questions Alexander when he goes all mysterious about what his intentions are. She then rolls her eyes. "And don't tell me your thoughts are about the black dress in the store." a shake of her head and she turns to look at the arriving men. She assesses them quietly. The thugs and the bosses. She knows who is in charge here and her focus goes to the two men that just stepped out of the car. She casts a look at Alex when he goes to stand in front of her, having to suppress a roll of her eyes. But it's fine. He doesn't know she is capable.

Men and their need of being White Knights.

She does take the opportunity to subtly take out the knife within her purse though, sliding up a sleeve and smiling in a somewhat dumbfounded manner at the various men in the street. "You know these fine gentlemen, dear? I thought it'd just be us tonight. But you know how I love surprises." yes, she sounds just like a vapid heiress without a single brain cell in that pretty head of hers.
Selene Corvinus The two original followers come closer before stopping, and the two men in black start to walk toward Alex and Thea then. The bald one is the first to speak, he raises up his right hand to de-escalate things.

"Relax." He says in a thick New York accent. "We're not here to fight you." He tells Alex, since Thea is mostly dwarfed behind the strong white knight that is protecting the smol woman.

"We're here because my employer wishes to talk to you." He says directly to Alex. "We're giving you a chance to do this. To have an opportunity to not make any mistakes that will lead you to... Not having this kind of chance again."

Now all four sets of eyes are staring on the couple.

"You can either get in the car and ride with us, or we'll tell you where to go. Or... you go on about your way... and keep walking down a dangerous road."

Threatening!
Alexander Aaron     It was rare for Alexander to feel this way. Thea could sense the subtle change in him most likely. The anticipation in his manner, the slight widening of his eyes, the tension in his stance. For those others there they might see him as just being so terribly normal, listening to the words given. But there was an electricity to him as his right hand lightly closed. Just once and held shut.
Then he lifts his chin and looks to the four individuals one after the other. Perhaps committing their faces to memory. He looks sidelong towards Thea and murmurs, "I do not /know/ them, good Thea. But I know of them. I have promised my aid to a friend. I doubt there is much they could say to turn me away from such a word given. But..."
He then turns to face her and asks openly, in a tone almost formal, "Do you think it would be more interesting to go with them or should we let things escalate here? Much would depend on your mood, of course."
Thea Queen "A promise is a promise." Thea says in agreement with Alexander. Not much they would be able to say to take him off his path. Still, as we have already established Thea is no dunce. And she is also a mortal with no problems about deceiving others. Specially criminals.

"Maybe you should go with these fine gentlemen. Well, maybe not so fine. Their manners are a touch lacking.." she turns her nose some at the group. "Who knows? Maybe what they have to say is very important." the corner of her mouth curling in a smirk. "... besides all the information you could get from them.." this last part is said in a rather low whisper, and hidden behind the man. Not even lip-readable! Taking advantage of that smol size.

"Oh, just take your phone with you, I had it in my purse, remember?" She hands Alexander a phone. It's not his phone of course. But it may have a tracker within for her to follow him. Just maybe!
Alexander Aaron     The phone is accepted, and pocketed into that great pea coat, and he doesn't even look at it. Just accepts. But then he tilts his head toward the side as he considers the others there. "Would you care to come along, Thea?"
As he asks that he turns to those four and smiles easily enough, "You of course grant us safe passage, yes?" A look is given from one to the other to the other. Returning the the one who seemed to speak with some measure of authority. "I would have your word. Of course?" The way he says those last few words to the others. It has a rhythm to it. As if there would be dire repercussions to disagreeing with the disharmony it would cause.
Thea Queen Taking in a breath Thea rolls her eyes, "Sure, fine. I will go with you God knows where to meet who knows who that you are in business with apparently. You hadn't told me you were a gangster.." she is working hard on her airheaded look. "This is sorta exciting I admit." she holds her hands together and almost *jumps* in giddiness, a smile given to the thugs.

"Are we all going in the same car? Does your boss have a big car? My boyfriend doesn't have one..." Apparently she likes cars. Or maybe she is just so nervous about all the gangsters being around.

Even if the truth is she is just selling the act. She nods towards the car. "Let's go then, if it's quick we can still be in time for dinner at D'Encanto." a posh restaurant.
Selene Corvinus The two men in black shift on their boots for a second before the bald one nods to Alex. "Safe psssage, or, whatever, yes. Come on, ya Dungeons and Mazes weirdo. Like I said, we're here to take you to see someone. Not to rough you and your lady up."

The other man in black opens the back door for Alex and Thea, then goes to get in the passenger door again. The bald guy starts to walk around to the driver's side again, while the original two just stand there and watch... Apparently their job is done in this!

Once inside, the car will pull off back in to New York traffic. there isn't a lot of talking, but the radio is on playing 'TV killed the radio' ironically.

After about five minutes, and several turns, the group ends up in the Meat Packing District, where they pull off again in to a side street that has a few loading trucks parked at the far end of it.

In the very center of the street, at its end, before the trucks, a single solitary man stands in a long brown coat, with his hands in the pockets, and his long brown hair combed back and kept slick. He just stares at the headlights of the arriving car, with a penetrating gaze.

When the headlights shut off, he is bathed in the dim light of the small warehouse road now. Waiting.
Alexander Aaron     Into the back seat of the car and Alexander seems pleased. He slips into it and once Thea is settled he gives her a sidelong look that is entirely willful and wild, as if he was tickled about the turn of events. He lightly tells her, "My father would be furious right now. He'd be yelling at me, 'What are you doing?!' but then he'd have wanted us to just whup them for their impertinence as soon as they showed up."
Whether or not he's overheard it doesn't seem to matter to him. But then they're riding along and if Thea chats with him he'll engage but the others not so much.
Until they reach the meat-packing district. And once they are allowed out and urged Alexander emerges and to him...
    It's like Disneyland.
"Oh you went to so much trouble." He says a real warmth to his voice. It isn't often that someone takes the effort to try to intimidate the God of Fear, and perhaps they didn't know that aspect about him. Likely even. But he appreciates it all the same. Once Thea joins him he looks to them and sees the solitary figure. It's towards that individual he walks.
Once near he lifts his voice, "Evening."
Thea Queen Settling down within the car has Thea look about the interior. She shows her disdain for how dirty (to her standards) it appears to her by wrinkling her nose. But no comment. No need to push her luck. She is doing enough to be just the arm candy of the hero white knight that needs a telling from the villain that continuing his endeavor will be unpleasant for him. All rather standard for Thea so far!

She just doesn't know it's vampires. But hey, one revelation at a time.

Her demeanor does start getting more serious as they go into that street where that solitary man awaits. Rather daring. She steps out of the car once they come to a stop, looking around and then to the boss. She smiles 'nervously' but is mostly taking in the surroundings, points of escape, other attackers or even assessing the man himself.

"Are you going to introduce us?" she asks Alexander.
Selene Corvinus The two men who drove them here both just remain in the car.

The man in the long brown canvas coat watches the couple approach before he raises his chin up to stare more evenly toward them. "Welcome." He says in a calm voice. "I am sorry for the theatrics, but I know that you were hired to kill my kind. So you understand... some unusual approach was necessary." He says as he starts to walk toward them, his hands still in the pockets of his coat.

"Allow me to introduce myself." He says for Thea. "I am Lucien, Miss..." His eyes dance to Alex. "Your friend here is not familar with me... But those who have asked him to do the heinous things they intend to do, very much are..." He draws those last few words out with a slight shake of his head side to side.

"I bring you here tonight, to attempt to... influence you to walk away from this. I know what you're capable of." He says to Alex. "I truly do not wish to have you, also, as an enemy. You're capable, to say the least. My people do not need more challenges, like that which you would present..."

How complimentary of him!

But why would he say such a thing?
Alexander Aaron     Alexander's answer to Thea is light and casual, "I have no idea who he is." The youthful Olympian says, though he might have an inkling considering what he had been told by other parties.
But then he introduces himself and the Greek listens, head tilted to the side and watching with that calm casual manner. The same manner he had when meeting new people on New Year's Eve, it's there in his stance and his balance. Just so normal and at ease.
At the confession that the man knows his capabilities, "You do? That's a kind thing to say. Though even I don't know what I am entirely capable of."
A look is given sidelong to Thea, "I have a friend and a former instructor who asked of my aid, and so I have an obligation to do so." Which is when he then looks toward Lucian. "I was not hired." As if that was a sticking point.
"Lucien," He takes a breath, then says. "I hold no ill will for you and yours. Though the nature of association leaves my support on one side due to my own social obligations. I trust you understand. But I have not given promise to raising hand against your kind. Only in the seeking. I shall inform them of this meeting at its end. But until then, I would hear what you would have to say? For the future is not set in stone."
Thea Queen Thea narrows her eyes just so. This is no ordinary thug or ganglord. This is something else. Fantastic, just when her craziness with the Asgardians is slowing down there comes ..., she doesn't even know. But what she *does* know is that the man is rather suave. And a good talker. So she smiles politely. "Lucillia Lindberg. But you can call me Lucy." nope, no real name for her. If this goes sour she doesn't want people knocking at her door.

"A oath given cannot be broken." she says with an agreeing nod towards Alexander. "Do you believe your cause more just than who asked for Alexander's aid?" she then questions, perhaps trying to delve into the motivations of this man. "For Alexander is not the type to support causes that are corrupt in their essence."

Her hands fold over her front and she gains a more assertive stance. Not so dunce anymore.
Selene Corvinus Lucien stops moving when he's about ten feet away, his coat swaying around his knees as he listens to them both. His dark eyes go from one of their faces, to the other, before he speaks again. "I would bring my message straight to the Vampire, and her new lover, if I thought it would end well. But... sadly, she is too far entrenched in her beliefs to listen to anything I would have to say. Of course... sometimes, a unexpected turn presents a option that was otherwise neverLucien draws in a breath through his nose, the sides of his face lifting as his muscles flex beneath his flesh. His eyes look to the right then, down a small alley, barely larger than a single person in width. He then looks back to Alex and Thea, as a figure emerges from the darkness of that little pathway between the storage buildings. A young woman, in black, pale skin and dark hair, brown eyes... Alex would recognize her.

Selene? Wait, no, she's ... different.

Lucien speaks again. "I want you to go back to the woman who tasked you with our demise, and I want you to tell her something for me." He says as the young woman in black walks to his side to stand on his right, her heeled boots crunching on the filthy concrete floor.

"I want you to tell her, that..." He's interrupted. By the young woman.

"Tell her that her daughter wants to meet her." She says to the couple.
dreamed of..."

What?
Alexander Aaron     A deep breath is taken as Alexander perhaps realizes the consequences of one moment to the next. The interplay of the future flits through his thoughts, the possible reactions and responses. Of course there's part where his eyes narrow. His pale hazel eyes flit to the new-comer, then back to Lucien. Then to the newcomer again.
Quietly he murmurs, "One would imagine she has already met her, perhaps if only for a brief bit of time?" But there is likely mystical madness going on here, or a complexity of circumstances.
But then he nods, "I have no qualms serving as your messenger in this matter and will not ill use the information granted. I will deliver it without coloring or inferring meaning."
A glance is given to Lucy as he considers the young woman, then he looks back to Lucien. "Once you consider this meeting at an end I will move toward this action."
Thea Queen Oooh, that's a sexy outfit if she has seen one. Thea can't help but arch a brow when watching this other woman move closer. She could use that in her wardrobe. She blinks once and then looks back up at Alexander with a brief nod. There isn't much she has to add now besides a, "Very well." she will ask about VAMPIRES after they are out of there.

"We are grateful for your hospitality." she offers Lucien a faint smile, then looks at the other woman. "What name should we give her?" about her daughter, that is.

She takes a moment assessing the young woman, up and down. But she takes a step back too, her own heels clacking on the concrete and she adjusting her fur hat gently. This is turning dangerous by the minute. And intriguing.
Selene Corvinus Lucien spares a half loook over at the young woman that stands beside him now, before his gaze goes back to the couple in front of them. He stays quiet for the moment.

"Tell her that her daughter, Eve, wishes to finally meet her. Tell her that Michael, is dead, and that Kraven killed him..."

The young Eve stops speaking then, and spares a look over to the long haired man in the dusty coat beside her. Lucien riases his chin just a little again. "When she decides to meet, reach out to us at the Fox Fortress. She'll know where to find it." He nods his head past the two then, and the headlights of the car come back on.

"My men will take you wherever you wish to go. I ... appreciate your non violent reaction to this." He adds then while he and the girl look on.
