Emma Frost Emma Frost is currently going her way through Brooklyn. Despite the chill, the blonde seems not to mind it that much as she comes out from a subway station. Heading paralell to Bushwick, a lightly annoyed but amused look on her face. As she would walk by, two men that were playing a game of chess would be complaining about how far things had fallen since the Dodgers left town.
Katrina Cupertino     Katrina is between jobs, and between meals, and taking a break by wandering Brooklyn herself. Or rather, New York and she happens to be in Brooklyn at the moment. She stands out in terms of her looks like Emma, but it's more the metallic curling horns that sprout from her head that probably draw notice. That and she seems a little underdressed for winter, wearing a t-shirt, jeans, boots, and a bomber jacket that's currently unzipped.
Emma Frost Emma Frost would make her way down the street, glancing for a moment over in the direction of Bushwick, shaking her head for some moments before glancing over at Katrina. There's some sort of curious expression on her face.. "You there, com ehere." A casual gesture over at her to come over.
Katrina Cupertino Katrina glances over at that, raising a brow, then ambling over curiously. "Yeah?" Her mind is...strange. Like there's two overlapping in the same space. Joined together in many areas, like memory and personality. Hard to tell more, but it'd be easy for a telepath of Emma's power to sense.
Emma Frost Emma Frost would gesture at Katrina, going to gently probe ather mind. First however attempting a light 'tweak'; the sense of awareness that something was odd. If it worked, then fo Katrina there would be nothing unusual about the scenario. No mental alarms or alerts. This was normal. "Have we met before? You look familiar."
Katrina Cupertino     Katrina has a fairly strong will, but no real telepathic defenses, other than the fact that it's sort of pushing into two minds at once. She doesn't seem to notice the intrusion as she cocks her head, resting a hand on her hip. "Mmm, no? I think I'd remember you if I did." She has a foreign accent...vaguely Asian. Or Polynesian?
Emma Frost Emma Frost would nod, "Nonsense, I'm relatively sure that I've seen you before." The light pressure on both minds, Emma attempting to lull them into a sense of calmness and keep them there. Nothing unusual. "A few times, ah.. Do tell me waht the last few things you've done? I'm sure we'll overlap on /one/ and we can figure it out."
Katrina Cupertino     Katrina is naturally a bit wary, but seems to relax, some of the suspicion leaving her fact. "Ah...I'm fairly sure I haven't seen you at any events of late." Because her memory towards robbing Star Labs in Metropolis. Or attempting to. Then Mary Marvel showed up. Also a theft she was paid to do at a Hammer Industries warehouse. That one was more successful.
Emma Frost Ahh, lovely. Now Emma would smile, "Oh, I remember.. We were both at one of those tech expos. Forgive me. I tend to overstate my own importance and think everyone must know me."
Katrina Cupertino     "...you do look a bit familiar, but I'm afraid I don't keep track of high society here." Katrina says after a slight pause. Has she been at a tech expo? Maybe when she was planning out what she was looking to get. That one in Las Vegas, then, though that was months ago. "I don't recall your name, sorry. I'm Katrina."
Emma Frost Emma Frost would smile, "Emma. I'm sorry, you reminded me of a security freelancer I had work for a few of them where I had had my company doing exhibits. She had the.." Emma would point lightly at the metal prongs. "As something for.. Cosplay? I think was the term."
Katrina Cupertino     Katrina smiles. "I've had it remarked that it reminds people of cosplay before, yes." she agrees. "It's entirely possible you saw me with them out, so to speak." She cocks her head. "So you work for a tech company?"
Emma Frost Emma Frost would nod< "Yes, I work for one." She runs one, but that doesn't fit the back and forth she's working on with the woman. "Perhaps! THey do stand out. What are they made out of?"
Katrina Cupertino "Nano-infused alloys, primarily. Tungsten and steel, among others." Katrina answers, saying more than she would normally about her construction. "I can retract them, but I prefer to leave them out. I'm not ashamed of being a bit more than human."
Emma Frost Emma Frost would ahh, "Fascinating. Please do tell me about them. Are they integrated? I've notseen much like this before."
Katrina Cupertino     "They're technically a part of my cybernetics, though more decorative in style than useful, based on my original designer's view of the perfect 'fairy' style nymphodroid." Katrina answers. "I'm fond of them though. I sometimes give them different shapes depending on mood or need."
Emma Frost Emma Frost would laugh, "I see. Rather unique. So they're built in and were forged that way?" SHe would offer while considering. "So please do go ahead and tell me about yourself.. Ah, that's a personal question, nevermind. I understand if you don't. And.. Nymphodroid?"
Katrina Cupertino Katrina slits her eyes. "It is a Gamorran thing. A great deal of illegal cybernetics are performed on those deemed expendable to society. Either as worker units or as nymphodroids to be sold to those interested, or to brothels." She taps the side of her head. "With mental program that makes them unable to say no, and often with addictive implants that shape their behavior. "
Emma Frost Emma Frost would be caught by surprise by that, "Oh." She would say softly, "I had no idea such a thing existed." Her tone would be very, very surprised ont his end. "Please.. As much as you feel comfortable with.. Tell me mre." Now there's no mental pressure or incentive of any sort.
Katrina Cupertino "Mmm. I missed that part, obviously." The horned woman shakes her head. "Not much to tell? I was a tech thief with my partner. A job went bad, he was captured. I tried to bargain for his freedom in return for mine, but the mad doctor who had him double-crossed us. He built him into a heavy labor unit, but he decided he wanted to make a masterpiece out of me that would serve both as a sex toy and a bodyguard." She purses her lips. "He was so enamored of his work, in fact, that he was afraid the leader of Gamorra might grow tired of me and abandon his perfect creation. So he killed the tyrant's daughter, digitalized her mind and stuck it in me as well, as the last remnant of her. Luckily the resistance there raided the lab and released me before he had finished installing my controls."
Emma Frost Emma Frost would nod thoughtfully, "Fascinating. Ah.. Forgive me, that's not quite the most appropriate thing to say." Emma's face is pained as she's trying to sort out all of these things over and would shake her head. "So, dear.. Are your services avialable on retainer?"
Katrina Cupertino Katrina tilts her head, watching Emma now. "I am available for hire. I and others. I have some limitations on the sorts of contracts I will take, of course."
Emma Frost Emma Frost would nod, "Oh, retainer. I occasionally have jobs tht I seek freelancers for. When I have one I'll contact you, give you the basic information on the job and what it would entail. You can then decide if you would like to take it or not. If you do not wish to, then you will not have to. I will in turn assume you wil lbe professional and not disclose any details of it to anyone."
Katrina Cupertino Katrina considers, then reaches into a pocket, tugging out a card. 'Here, then." she says, offering her a card. It says simply "Cybernary" with an email address. "I'll consider such jobs. And I would be a poor mercenary if I revealed information on my clients. Unless, of course, they turn on me."
Emma Frost Emma Frost would nod, "Of course." She would then go to take out a checkbook and go to scribble something down. "Fifteen thousand dollars for three months to have you on retainer then."
Katrina Cupertino     "Are you preferring being the sole person with us on retainer? Or do you not object to me taking other jobs in the meantime?" Katrina asks, taking the check when offered.
Emma Frost Emma Frost would shake her head, "I have no objectionst o your taking other jobs. I presume you'll be professional enough to decline employmen if you feel it goes against ethics or boundaries and I have no issues." She's not -paying- the woman that much anyways.
Katrina Cupertino "Correct." In the course of the conversation, there's been a change in her body language and speech. It's just a bit more crisp and refined, less relaxed than she was when the conversation started.
Emma Frost Emma Frost would nod, "Excellent. I'll be in touch when I have a proposal for you and then you can decide when you receive it what to do with it. Ta."
Katrina Cupertino     Katrina nods again, smiling faintly. "What a profitable walk I've had today...a pleasure meeting you, Emma."
