Meggan Constantine It all begins while sitting atop a lighthouse marking the north end of Long Island, practically inside Connecticut state lines. Hell may be prancing around wearing wings in Manhattan but they still have cell reception in Montauk.

<Text to Zatanna> Yoohoo! Everything all good out there in the backend of... wossit,, Bristol? :O
Zatanna Zatara Zee puts the tea pot down after pouring AT a cup, "Can you fix it the way you want?" Her hand is already reaching for the phone vibrating on the cushion next to her.

She smiles at the sender, fingers moving rapidly in response, <You know Gotham. Insouciant to it all. And here. We can wink out of this plane in two shakes of a wand. Where are you?>

Sorry to be texting while you visit. Do you know the Queen of Faerie? I bet you have met her mother. Gaia.
Meggan Constantine <Text to Zatanna> Earthquakes and big waves do that, plenty surprised they haven't put up a sign for 'Gotham is open'.>

The lighthouse stands against wind and snow and rain, impervious to much of everything. She normally would bother the one nearer Gotham, but Meggan has her reasons. <Up on long island round where it stops being island. Taking it all in. Bit of a holiday.>
Zatanna Zatara <Wild weather and salt air. Suitable. Gotham? They wouldn't dare. Batman bites>
Angelo Tampambulos     "Queen of the Faerie?" asks Angelo, one brow lifting. He tilts his head and shrugs, "So this Queen is half sister to Thor Odinson?" he asks. "And she is something of a distant cousin of my own also?" He tilts his head, "If memory serves, Gaia was the Grandmother of Zeus. Making her my great great great grandmother." he says as he reaches for the tea, "I don't need anything added to my tea. Thank you though."
Meggan Constantine <Text to Zatanna> everyone should fear Batman. he is fierce and dangerous. They're asking for it to try.
Meggan Constantine <Text to Zatanna> He also pet me kindly and it was an excellent moment. even waiting for Pr. Diana to leave. See, smartest detective vigilant person alive n.n
Zatanna Zatara "Is she? Leave it to a Greek to know someone's family tree better than I do. And who," She says with a smirk, "are you not related to?" She sits with the phone next to her waiting for Meggan's reply. "We don't often do this but she is very important to me. Something is up," she adds in apology.

<Are you related to Thor Odinson through your mother?> She holds the phone a moment, lost in thought, saying to Angelo, "I asked her about relations."

<Batman has good taste and still bites. Why Montauk?> Hooray for geolocations. Almost as good as magic.
Angelo Tampambulos     "Well, that all depends on whether you subscribe to the Christian origin stories, or alternate ones." offers Angelo calmly as he lifts and sips his tea. "Technically... humans are not generally descended from the gods. But Zeus was apparently also the god of Playah's, so who knows in the long run. All I know is that despite having divine blood in my veins... all of that power went to my immortality, and nothing else. It's almost enough to make a demigod jealous of all of the powers other demigods seem to get." he offers with a wry grin to indicate he's mostly joking. Mostly.
Zatanna Zatara Zee chuckles at God of Playahs. "He was a busy boi, it seems." She is not the empath of the family but catches the undercurrent behind the wry humor. "What would you have preferred beyond a blessing and a curse, Angelo, if you were to have it? Ironically, people kill to have your power."
Meggan Constantine Indeed, twist a lineage far enough and that makes Meggan half-sister to a great many things. Draw a direct line and it spreads out to a forest like those aspen colonies in the west. All mighty and interconnected, sort of one thing in many forms.

Angelo has a few-times-removed aunt! How exciting.

<Text to Zatanna> You've never been out here? v, pretty and the water's lovely. Its unhappy right now. Lot going on beyond the island.>

A brief pause. Then a blipped note. <Mum? Maybe. We call her Danu. Is Thor's mum not Frigga? Frigg? um however they spell it. Not really good at that myself. Maybe! Mum has oodles of kids>
Angelo Tampambulos     With a shrug, Angelo sips his tea once more, "Well. I heard a saying in recent centuries that really summed it all up. How did it go... the Grass is always Greener?" he asks. "I suppose we always long for what we don't have, simply because we do not have it. So, super strength would be quite useful. Power over the weather. Who knows?" he adds with a chuckle.

"Everything okay? Anything I can do to help out?" he asks as he sets his teacup down.
Zatanna Zatara Frowning down at the phone, "I'm not quite sure. It's never straight forward with Meggan. I love her for it. But I am as dull as concrete beside her."

<Angel unhappy? Or? I love the place, btw. Lower Manhattan two hundred years ago.>
Meggan Constantine <Text to Zatanna> Oh, the sea is unhappy cos of the mess in Manhattan. stuff's shut down so it all pours out into the water and you'd be pretty mad too if someone got you dirty from a leaky faucet. I've been thinking about going home - like into the O-world. supposing we all live thru this things are a right mess. I've felt it since the Demon Con came around.
Angelo Tampambulos     "Well, I am perfectly happy and willing to help out if there is any way I can." suggests Angelo with a shrug. He looks down at his lap and pulls his own phone out to check his SHIELD messages, making sure there is no emergency going on
Zatanna Zatara <Polite of you to call it a mess. Agreed. Nothing has been right. Can I come, too?> Zee feels close enough to Meggan to ask. If there is a refusal, she knows there will be good reason for it.

Sapphire eyes consider the man across from her for a moment before she replies, "You're a good man to offer. It's mostly the mess in Manhattan leaking sludge into the world. Mothe Nature doesn't like it. With good reason, too."
Angelo Tampambulos     With a shrug, Angelo smirks, "Mother Nature has been taking it on the chin ever since humanity started working with machinery. Can't blame her for getting a bit ... shall we say.. persnickety?" he asks.
Meggan Constantine Meggan is probably inscrutable to normal people because her normal sense of logic isn't sound. Growing up oddly as she did has its effect. She doesn't know what she can't apologize profusely for, though, and even if she could... well, what apologies would help?

<Text to Zatanna> I'd insist. to be a right proper adventure, we have to have people. that's how the stories go. I'd say you earned the chance to see the great cities anyway. can't imagine the state they're in.
Meggan Constantine <Text to Zatanna> might have to stop and check in on Merlyn/Roma to see how they're doing too
Zatanna Zatara "Have you gotten used to what we have done to the world? Do you miss the world of your youth?" she asks. She looks down at Meggan's reply, lips pressed into a bemused smile.

<Count me in. Give me a heads up. I have to let Charlie know or can she come? Close down the house, etc. Can I bring friends if they are willing?>
Angelo Tampambulos     Lifting a hand, Angelo wobbles it to and fro. "There -are- things I miss. But indoor plumbing, showers and laundry machines are three things that I am quite happy to have in my world."

"So, in general, I miss the fact that people needed to be survivors, and to know how to survive. They had to come together as a community to make sure that they lived. Now, they are happy to sit on their computers and live their lives online. Oh, another advance that I like... grocery stores."
Zatanna Zatara "We still have those instincts when there is war and natural disasters. I do like me a hot shower, I have to say or a long soak in an onsen. Grocery stores aren't that great. I like outdoor markets even on cold, rainy days. Though it's hard on the merchants.

<I'm down for Merlyn/Roma and cities. Even if I haven't earned it. I need a little prep time, sweet Meggan, is all.>
Meggan Constantine <Text to Zatanna> Theyre like my godparents if we believed in god, I fostered with them.>

You know, just like that. Bit weird, her. <Can't go right this second. Need John now mum's given us her blessings. Wouldn't be right.>
Zatanna Zatara <Spiritual parents. Mentors. We can drop the god with a capital G. Of course, John. Blessings or no blessings>
Angelo Tampambulos     "I just enjoy the convenience of being able to acquire foodstuffs all in one place. Market, store, you name it." offers Angelo. But he goes a bit quiet as he sees the focus on the phone. Only when Zatana seems to be able to pay attention again does he offer an observation however.

"It does seem amazing how trends seem to revolve back around in a circular fashion. For example... two hundred years ago, the height of style was a pocketwatch. And then came the wristwatch.... and timepieces were removed from pockets and put on the wrist. And now with these phones in our pockets, very few people wear wristwatches... so the most modern cellular phone technology put us back to keeping a timepiece in our pocket."
Meggan Constantine <Text to Zatanna> More like stuck with me and Merlin isn't very big on kids or stuff. gonna be an issue but not now.
Zatanna Zatara Zatanna looks distressed. "I'm sorry about texting while you are here. Meggan is about the only person I would make this exception for. She lives on another plane, quite literally. Do you know people who think and operate on tangents? I think the word will o'wisp was invented for her."

"You on the other hand, seem so solidly planted in the now, not that she isn't. I'm not doing well explaining it. It's the difference between the earth and air." Her phone pings again and her eyes stray back to the screen.

<He will have to put up with the most unique progeny in history!>
Angelo Tampambulos     "Relax Zatanna. I have had far worse experiences with phone distraction while in the field on missions with SHIELD." offers Angelo with a smile. He is a gracious guest at the very least. Some old world things don't go away it seems. "Just tell me how I can help. And when I say help, I mean in any capacity. If cooking dinner for guests helps, I will do it."
Meggan Constantine The girl looks down to the sea. At her back, the red and white bulk of the lighthouse glitters. It's hard not to appreciate its weight and presence, the ancient miracle to mariners everywhere. A smile crosses her lips and she rises up in front of the beam that's been blowing a brilliant presence out to the wild Atlantic since the night fell.

<Text to Zatanna> I have to go. And he will - not like your family's unrelated I imagine. old lines all get like that, tangled up.
Meggan Constantine <Text to Zatanna> And remember too we've got a demon to hunt. Using this as cover. Time we saw him to his grave. Cheers! n.n
