Owner Pose
Hank Hall Hank is sitting at his desk with his laptop open, watching the sweet refrains of a country song playing on the video he is watching. His head is casually bobbing back and forth as he sways in time to the music, sort of getting into the song itself. His hand is tapping absently on the desk in front of him as he studies the look of the artists performing.
Dawn Granger Dawn's sort of getting better about the knocking. This time she knocks, but opens the door and pokes her nose in before actually heading inside. "I'm not interrupting, am I?" She assumes the answer is that she isn't interrupting before he says anything, and she steps inside and shuts the door behind her. "What are you up to?"
Hank Hall Ironically, for all the times that Hank said to just come in, it is this arrival that causes him to jerk to attention, hand moving up to quickly close the laptop before Dawn can see (or really hear) what was playing on it. "No, no, of course not." He turns to look at her as if he was _not_ just watching...whatever he was watching. "Nothing. How about you?"
Dawn Granger Dawn happens to have a notebook, which she holds up like she'd done /homework/. "So, I thought I'd drop in and ask about costumes. Because if there's no costume party of any sort in the Tower or elsewhere, I'm going to be extremely disappointed." She eyes his suspicious Not-Doing-Anything behavior, but it's ignored as she heads over towards him. "I know we already kind of do the partner thing as Hawk and Dove, but it might be really fun to do something in costume... for /us/. A couples costume."

She pauses, second guessing herself. "I mean. If you'd be interested in something like that."
Hank Hall There is a brief glance to the laptop, and then back to Dawn. "Uh, yeah, that sounds like a great idea. I'd love to do something like that." Hank shifts in the chair to look back at her, kind of almost putting himself between him and the laptop. Not suspicious at all. "And yes. If there is nothing at the Tower, we will find it. I love Halloween, and this'll be the first time that I'll have the chance to have a _sexy_ Halloween costume partner." He pauses. "Not that it has to be a sexy costume, of course, you know, if you were thinking of something else."
Dawn Granger Dawn eyes the laptop again, then looks to Hank again. "Having a reason to dress up in a costume that doesn't mean there's danger is a good time, I think." She grins at the mention of a sexy costume. "I do really like the idea of doing something together, it's way more fun than something alone unless you have sort of really fun, elaborate costume." She taps the notebook in her hand. "So... I kind of skipped those really cheesy 'Dress up like a concept' ideas because I kind of actually enjoy a real costume. My current thought is Han Solo and Princess Leia. I think we'd be able to pull it off."
Hank Hall This gets a quirk of an eyebrow from Hank. "Go on..." He says, taking a moment to look over Dawn, and sizing her up with respect to the image he has in his mind. "Curious to see what you were thinking. Which one for each of us?" He beckons her towards him as he opens up a bit more in his seat at the desk, opening up his lap for her, if she wishes to join him.
Dawn Granger Dawn laughs at the idea, offering him a grin as she heads over to settle on his lap. "Honestly, it works either way. I think I'd look pretty good in a vest, but I'm pretty sure you'd be a dreamy Han Solo. I'm sure if we went out you'd get some /looks/."
Hank Hall Laughing softly, Hank nods, slipping his arm around Dawn's waist. "I mean, you'd make a damn fine Han, but I'm not sure that I can pull off the metal bikini." He leans up to brush a kiss against Dawn's neck as she settles against him. "Which look for them were you thinking? First movie?"
Dawn Granger "Pretty much. First movie would be very iconic and if someone had never, for some reason, seen the movies... they'd figure it out," Dawn rests an arm around his shoulders, teasing her fingers through his hair. "Unless you're really wanting me in that bikini. Might be a little chilly if we go outside though. That and I'd have to go out in that." She pauses, considering if she actually would.
Hank Hall "Yeah, that's definitely true." Hank leans into Dawn's touch, enjoying the feel of her fingers in his hair. "I mean, I do really want you in the bikini, but maybe that's just something for us here." He grins up at her. "I'd been thinking about that too, honestly. I'm looking forward to Halloween." He pauses. "How sold are you on Han and Leia?"
Dawn Granger Dawn kisses his head as she continues with her fingers in his hair. "Yeah, I might not be quite bold enough to wear that metal bikini out somewhere that someone other than you might see. I think I'd be a little embarrassed even just in the Tower." She glances at him for a long moment. "I could do something else. I can tell you're /plotting/ something. You're acting a little too suspicious."
Hank Hall Hank smiles up at her. "Oh, I think blushing would make it even better." He allows himself a bit of a grin as he peers up at Dawn. "I don't know about plotting, but I had a different idea..." He reaches over with his free hand as his other runs up and down along her side, to open up the lid to the laptop. He pushes a few buttons and the video comes back into video. A buxom woman with long blonde hair swaying next to gentleman with a robust beard, the two of them singing softly to each other. "That is what we are," offers Hank, echoing the lyrics as the two sing in the video.
Dawn Granger Dawn watches for a moment, glancing at Hank's reaction to the video before she really looks at it herself. She grins again, but it's a bit of a sappy one. "Okay, that's really romantic," she says. "It's been what, a week, and you've already got a song for us. It's a good choice."

It's an affectionate tease, and she leans in against Hank before glancing back at him. "You think I could pull it off though? That's a /lot/ of hair."
Hank Hall There is a _look_ that Hank gives Dawn at her response, tilting his head. "I didn't say it was our song," he protests, although slightly half heartedly. "I just figured the two of them, the two of us, it could be a good look."

Hank thinks for a long moment. He is clearly weighing the wisdom of what he is about to say. "Uh, Dawn, I hate to say it, but I don't think the _hair_ is her attribute that you would need the most, uh, help with." He glances down at Dawn's chest, and then back up at her. And smiles innocently at her.
Dawn Granger "I mean, the song kind of is appropriate," Dawn points out. "And it's very cute." She looks back to the video, then back at him. Then she follows his gaze when he points out very particular details of the costume. She gives him a look, her mouth twisting up like she's /going/ to say something, but she's not quite sure what. "You're lucky I don't particularly believe in violence. I prefer the peaceful solution and you, Hank Hall, are treading a dangerous line." She plants another kiss on the top of his head anyway.

"Those /would/ be fun costumes, though I'm pretty sure some of it will go right over the head of the younger crowd. Not that it matters, but..."
Hank Hall "Yeah, I mean, if you think about it, we're like that. Although sometimes the stream is more of a raging river." Hank watches her, and then he grins even more broadly at that grin. "You know me, I _love_ to tread the lines of danger, Dawn Granger." He reaches out with other hand, as if daring to indicate some other lines he intends to tread. Perhaps a measurement for the costume, and the assets she may need?

"I think it's pretty iconic, don't you?" He turns and looks at the video, and then back at Dawn. "I mean, neither of us were alive when this was released, and we both know it."
Dawn Granger "Peace unknown... sounds like some of those lyrics are right on the nose," Dawn teases, moving to lace her fingers with his before he can make any progress in important tailoring measurements. She gives him an amused look. "It /is/ iconic and I suppose if I get the big hair and the... other assets, it should be pretty obvious who we are, right?" She looks back at the screen. "Why do I feel like Halloween is an excuse for you to get me to wear things just so you can check me out."
Hank Hall "I mean, isn't it, though?" Hank accepts Dawn's fingers, seeming content to lace his with hers, even if it means no measurement. "I'd think so. And you know, if anyone wasn't so sure, I'll bet you could sing a bit and they would figure it out. We can carry around microphones and everything." Her last question evokes a look of shock from Hank, and he gasps. "Why Dawn, that's ridiculous!" He flashes that Hank Hall grin. "I can check you out just fine any old time I'd like." He leans over and brushes his lips against her neck.
Dawn Granger "The microphones would definitely seal the deal if someone was unsure of the costumes," Dawn agrees, laughing at the touch of his lips on her neck. "You're right, no excuses needed. But... it's not everyday that you get to see me in a cos--" She stops, mid-sentence, then laughs. "Okay, maybe that's not the right phrasing, but you know what I mean."
Hank Hall "Oh, I think if anyone misses it, we can thoroughly school them." Hank curls that arm around her, squeezing tightly. "I know that you mean," he murmurs, sighing contentedly. "It's nice to be able to plan out a fun Halloween." He leans his head against Dawn's shoulder. "It makes me happy."
Dawn Granger "I... really like getting to do 'us' things together," Dawn admits, tracing her nails lightly along his scalp as she pets his head. "I know that sounds redundant to some people but it's you and I, not just some crimefighting duo who look pretty amazing in their costumes." She squeezes him gently with her arm. "I really, really like this."
Hank Hall There is a slow and easy nod from Hank as he leans into Dawn, both agreeing with her and enjoying her touch against his head. "It's an interesting dichotomy, really." He sighs. "I wonder if people see Hawk and Dove and ship us. They have to, right?" He looks up at her. "I mean, it would be zero surprise to anyone to know that they were an actual couple?" He smiles at the squeeze. "What's not to like?"
Dawn Granger "I have never, and I swear this to be the truth, looked up Hawk and Dove fansites. I'm sure they exist and I'm sure there's /fanfiction/," Dawn laughs again, looking honestly happy. "That's not something I would have ever thought about... but we work so well together, I'm sure they ship us. Maybe next time we save the day we can kiss and drive the shippers up the wall."

She tilts her head so she can look at him. "Think we ever would end up like this without Hawk and Dove?"
Hank Hall Blinking at this concept, Hank peers at Dawn. "Wait. Fanfiction?" He tilts his head. "I thought that was just people looking at people and hoping they got together. You think people write stories about us?" This appears to be an alien concept to Hank. But then. "I mean, don't tease me with a good time, but..." He looks up at her, thinking. "If we do that, we'll be kind of public. Do you want that?"

He furrows his brow in thought, and then he nods. "I think if you and I met on a train somewhere, we'd totally hit it off. I think all that Hawk and Dove did was bring us in front of each other."
Dawn Granger "People write stories about caped heroes all the time," Dawn laughs. "They go above and beyond when it comes to beign fans. I'd be a little terrified to see how they'd write us. Probably just go /way/ stereotypical or something." She pets his head lightly, then looks back at him.

"I hate that we even have to think about things like 'going public'. There's always the risk that if someone were trying to figure out who we are it'd be a little more obvious if you were looking for a couple, but... what are the odds of that?" She shifts in his lap a little so she can get a better, look into his eyes. "Do you think there's a reason not to?" She pauses. "Is this moving too fast?"

She hadn't thought about the ramifications of it too much. That was definitely Hank's influence on her.
Hank Hall Hank is quiet as Dawn starts spinning through the various ideas and ramifications of what they are, what going public would mind, and being found out. He seems content to allow her to do it until she asks about it going too fast.

"Dawn." He puts a hand on her thigh, and gives it a squeeze. "We're doing what feels right. And what is right for Hank and Dawn. Ok? We're fine, this is all fine." He leans his head against her. "Hawk and Dove can be Hawk and Dove. If you think that makes us vulnerable, then we just don't do anything in public. Easy peasy." He looks up at her. "Hank and Dawn are what's important, ok?"
Dawn Granger "How is it you're the calm one right now?" Dawn laughs, resting her head against him and giving him a small squeeze in response. "You're right, though. I like /us/. You and I. Meeting on a train and hitting it off. I think if I worry too much about Hawk and Dove I'm going to get distracted from what's right in front of me."
Hank Hall There is a long laugh from Hank. "I learned from the best." The hand reaches up to brush down along from the top of Dawn's head along her braid. "And yes. Stop worrying about Hawk and Dove." He smiles at her, and leans forward. "Focus on what's right in front of you," he says softly, leaning up to press a kiss to her lips, as if to emphasize just what is in front of her.
