Owner Pose
Detective Chimp Detective Chimp has saved some dogs from a fighting ring a month or two back, and while a lot of them are strays Chimp, has kept track of them sometimes, even taking time to take them food at times. So when he has heard there is a problem, and a couple of them have gone missing (run off or worse). He decided he should come looking about to see what's going on. Asking a few of the other stray animals has brought Chimp to the area, where he is looking about and using his other senses, like hearing and smell to see if he can figure out what is going on.
Alderic     The bath house definitely looks abandoned, at least at first. There's little evidence that anyone human has been here in years, at least. As Chimp looks around the area, and takes it in with his senses, he would definitely notice an unusual scent among the musty odor of stale air and water. Something akin to that of a large predator.

It's from the shadows that Alderic appears. First, only the light reflecting on his feline eyes gives him away, but then the comparatively hulking form of his body slowly stalks from the shadows. There's a low, rumbling growl from the cougar man, his attention laser-focused on Chimp as he begins to stalk slowly around the edge of the room they've found themselves in together.

"What is it?" he asks, his voice a low, rumbling growl, "Is it food? Can I eat it? It's not people, what is it?" He seems to be talking more to himself than to Chimp, probably used to only being able to talk to other felines, and even then only through body language. He sniffs at the air, getting Chimp's scent much in the same way his own was taken in. "Smells like food..."
Detective Chimp Detective Chimp has seen a few movies, and looks over to Alderic, and says "No Smegal, I am not food." His hand does move to his pocket just in case the cougar man rushes him "Besides, I would probably taste like old bear, and cheap tobacco." He informs him "Are you one of Sally's friends ... maybe one of Thomas's friends?" He asks the catman. He does turn keeping his eyes on Alderic in case he rushes him. Chimp may have lived in the human world for over half a century, but he was born wild in Africa.
Alderic     Alderic, for his part, is clearly in his prime. He's all strength underneath that tawny fur, and he continues to stalk around Chimp with the leisurely confidence of a predator who has cornered his prey. It was Chimp, after all, who walked into the lion's den. When Chimp answers him, though, Alderic stops, almost freezing in place, and manages to look surprised.

"It talks," he rumbles. Then he looks a little disappointed. "Not food," he growls, "Shame. I wanted food." He licks over his maw hungrily, but then he sinks back into a crouch, squatting on his hands and feet. "No Sally," he says, "No Thomas. Friend Judy. Friend Harper. Friend Barbara. Pretty friends, feed me good things." He rumbles again, and then he moves closer, prowling closer to Chimp. He doesn't lunge, but he draws nearer to sniff at Chimp again. "What are you?" he asks, those golden eyes still staring at Chimp's, as if the cougar were staring right into his soul.
Detective Chimp Detective Chimp does smell of cigars and booze as well as the city "I'm Detective Chimp, a Chimpanzee, and you are some type of feline Cougar, I think." He says he does reach into another pocket with his free and pulls out a bag and offers it to Aleric "Here your hungry eat some of this, but chew on it a bit before you swallow." He tells him. He offers the bag, and then adds "The stuff in the bag, not the bag, and not the little white thing in the bag either." He adds as he offers some jerky to him
Alderic     Alderic, for his part, smells a good deal better than one would expect of a cougar-man living on the streets of Gotham. His fur is clean, and he has the scent of some kind of floral shampoo about him. Clearly someone managed to give him a bath at some point, recently. His ears perk a little, and his attention falls immediately on the small bag as it's offered. Almost immediately Alderic snatches it away with his maw, and bounds a few feet away before dropping it on the ground. He doesn't pull it open with his hands like a person would, instead using one hand to hold it down while he rips and tears at the bag with his maw until he can get the jerky out of it. He doesn't really chew it all that much - he's a feline and his teeth aren't really designed for chewing. He gnaws chunks of it in half and then swallows them whole. "Rrrh, good meat," he huffs while he's eating.
Detective Chimp Detective Chimp looks over and says "You know, if you open the bag you could reseal it so you have some now and some for later." His hand not holding the jerky did almost come out of his pocket, but when it was just the bag grabbed he did not pull out the taser. "How did you get here? Whats your name you know mine, or at least one of them." He offers to the cat man. His brow does raise a bit at the smell of the shampoo.
Alderic     It's a little late for suggesting Alderic save some for later. At the rate the cougar eats, that jerky is already gone by the time Chimp is asking his name. Alderic licks at the scraps of the bag for anything that's left, but then he looks up at Chimp again. "More?" He prowls back closer to the detective, sniffing curiously at him to see if he can sniff out any more jerky on him.

"They call me Alderrrric," he rumbles, "Came from mountains. Brought to big city. Kept in cage." He growls at the unpleasant memory. "Men made pain. Changed into Alderrric. Yellow woman came. Friend April. Helped escape. Taught about... people in city." He rumbles again, his tail flicking idly. "People still scared. Hunted Alderrric. Fled city. Made home in forest." He rumbled again and moved away from Chimp, prowling around the room until he finds a spot to flop onto his side and lay down, looking out a hole in the wall where he can see the rest of the city. "Lonely there. Miss friend April. Could not go back to city, so came to new city."
Detective Chimp Detective Chimp hmmms and says "I know someone who I should introduce you to, who might be able to help you fit into the city better. There is a collection of animal people who live in New York (I think was where she was). As for food no more on me right now, but I might be able to help on that too. " He studies Alderic and says "You seemed surprised I can talk, but you can talk with the other non furred people?"
Alderic     Alderic lifts his head again, looking at Chimp again. "New York. That is city with friend April. Can't go back, put her in danger." He rumbles again, his tail flicking at it's tip. "People talk to Alderrric, not animals. More ...surprised Chimp understands Alderrric. Only others of Alderrric's kind can speak. Alderrric learned to understand people from listening to men who changed him. Can't speak back, though. Alderic tries but they do not understand."
Detective Chimp Detective Chimp looks to the cat, and will find a place he can sit and keep him more on eye level with Alderic "Well, how about how you put your friend in danger, maybe we can fix it? As for talking I am magic, as I said can talk to anyone but you might be able to learn to talk might take time, or might not be able to, like Humans can't say my real name, their throats just aint built for it.
Alderic     Alderic looks perplexed when Chimp mentions magic. "What is... magic?" he asks, "Alderrric does not know that word." He stays laying on the floor, sprawled out like a cat would. "People can't say my name either. My kind don't use them. We have... smells. Looks. People do too, but people can't smell, or see the same way my kind do." There's another flick of his tail. "Do not want to put friend April in danger... she was very nice to Alderrric. Want her to be safe. This city is better place for Alderrric. New friends here. Stronger friends."
Detective Chimp Detective Chimp says, "Well Magic is something special, did the people who changed you do it by waving their hands and saying weird words, or was there electronic stuff, little windows with writing on them that moves, lots of lights and buzzing?" He will ask and says "Well the people I would introduce you to are animal people as well, and trying to stay away from people who hurt them, and getting strength from being in a pack.""
Alderic     Alderic rumbles as he looks out of the building at Gotham City, the lights in the dark sparkling in the feline's eyes. "I am uncertain," he says, "People in... newyork-city are still hunting. Might make danger for Chimp's friends." He looks at Chimp again and nods his head. "Lights and buzzing, and needles. And pain. White coats and white rooms and an angry man made of metal." Alderic rumbles again. "He leads the people hunting Alderrric."
Detective Chimp Detective Chimp nods, and says "Sounds like they used science on you, it is easier for most folks to understand than magic. I will talk to a few friends see if they want to come talk to you if your willing to meet them Sally, is a bit like you, but a lioness, and Thomas lives here in Gotham, but has a connection with cats. He had a friend who I have saw but not met, he was a Tiger but like you as well.
Alderic     "Bring your friends," Alderic says, "They may have to find me, I do not always stay here. Sometimes stay with Friend Harper. Her den is warm and dry, when city is cold and wet." He tilts his head again as he looks at Chimp, the cougar's tail flicking lazily. "You don't think it will be too dangerous for me to go back there?" he asks, curious and perhaps a bit hopeful-sounding.
Detective Chimp Detective Chimp says, "Well there might be some looking for you, but you know how to stalk and being stalked you should be able to sense it when they are after you. You would have to get looking a bit like normal people. Safest place in New York for you would be Mutant town, folks would think your just a human who was born with abilities not realize you started life as a normal cougar."
Detective Chimp Detective Chimp holds up a finger as something dawns on him "And if you hear someone referred to as a cougar, they are probably not talking about an animal like you, it is a term humans use to refer to women who like dating younger men."
Alderic     Alderic sits up again, the cougar-man straighting up until he's crouched on the floor again. His head tilts curiously. "What is mutant?" he asks, "And dating? Alderrric does not know these words." His tail flicks behind him as he watches Chimp curiously. "Alderrric does not look like people, Alderrric is not people. He is... cat, people say."
Detective Chimp Detective Chimp looks over and says "Mutant is someone who for some reason is different than the normal of their species, usually a difference in gen... inside them when they are born that can show any time from when they were born till later in life. " He will pull out his phone and motions for Alderic to come over to him "I can show you some, human mutants sometimes are born looking like animal people, some are born looking normal, or vastly different. Often they have abilities beyond the normal of their race, but not always. " He tries to explain Mutants. "Dating....a mating ritual that can lead to people mating, but normally not to make young but just to enjoy the mating itself."
Alderic     Alderic's ears perk up, and he rumbles excitedly. "Alderrric knows mating," he says, "Alderrric likes mating. Good feelings." He doesn't linger on the subject though, instead moving closer to Chimp so he can peer at the small screen the detective holds. He watches with wide-eyed curiosity as he's shown the different powers that mutants have. "They were all people?" he asks, "Some turned like Alderrric, others not."
Detective Chimp Detective Chimp looks over and says "They are all still people. You and I are people, just nor human people." He offers to the other While using the term for himself might be stretching it a bit. "But yes they all are human and some have changed a lot some a little and some not at all. Most humans will think your a mutant not a changed animal. It is easier for them to think like that. You can use that to your advantage to move and talk with them, but know there are some people who hate others just cause they are different and often they target those the most different first.
Alderic     Alderic seems to take a few moments to consider Chimp's words. It's quite clearly a thoughtful expression, one can almost hear the gears turning in the cougar's head. "I will try, sometime," he rumbles, "It is easier, most of the time, to stay away from people. They get scared. Scared people make bad things happen." His tail flicks again, and the cougar rumbles at Chimp. "Alderrric should go," he says, "Too much time in one place is dangerous. Have to hunt. Find more food. Find friends and protect what is Alderrric's." He rumbles again and starts prowling his way towards the way out, though it's not the way Chimp came in. He pauses towards the doorway, looking back over his shoulder. "We will see each other again, friend Chimp. Alderrric promises not to eat you when we do."
Detective Chimp Detective Chimp looks tot he other and nods his head a bit "Well good to hear." He says of the last part. He pulls out a card and says "See these symbols?" He shows it to Alderic "If you find a building with these symbols on the window that is my work and my home. You can find me there, it will smell like me too, but in case other smells are there the symbols will help ya know it is me." He tells him, letting him memorize the symbols, since no reason to give him the card as Alderic has no pockets.
Alderic     Alderic rumbles deeply and peers at the card, looking perplexed. "Alderrric does not understand symbols," he says, "But if Alderrric needs to find you, can follow your smell. Very good nose." He rumbles deeply and without much more, he disappears out of the abandoned bath house. It would seem the cougar isn't quite one for goodbyes.
