Roxanne Spaulding It's a bit past lunch and a bit early for dinner. It's the perfect time for a bit of pizza, and Gino's has some of the best in the city.

Deciding to head on in looking for a slice or two, Roxie runs her fingers through her hair as she wanders in, holding her iPhone. There's a bit of a sigh as she shakes her head, reading the text and frowns. "He's busy again."

After getting her order for a few slices, she wanders on over to one of the empty tables and takes a seat, crossing her legs to get a tad bit more comfortable.
Peter Quill Pizza! Who doesn't like Pizza? Quill seems to, tonight. He is seated at the front of the restaurant, along the little counter there, chomping away on a slice of something hot and covered in meat and vegetables. 'The game' that is on the TV nearby -- seems to be a soccer match from somewhere in Europe -- is occasionally glanced at by Quill, but for the most part he is just working through the medium sized pan of pie sitting next to him. It's been a week. He looks over at Roxanne as she enters -- he can't really help himself there, nor does he particularly try -- and gives her a nod as she stops near to order her food.
Roxanne Spaulding Sportsball! Probably Premier League? La Liga? Who knows? Surely, the game is a bit more popular since it's a World Cup year.

And so, she looks up at the screen. It was near the end where the players start taking off their jerseys to exchange it with another member. There's a soft sigh as she admires the hotness as her pizza arrives.

Taking a bite, she looks towards the older man and offers a warm smile in his way. Nomnomnom.
Peter Quill Peter Quill isn't particularly interested in ogling players from the Dutch second division, but who could blame a guy for a glance or two? Quill's attention is much more attached to Roxanne, as he says, "Afternoon," to the younger woman. He doesn't go beyond that though, doesn't want to be creepy apparently. Rather, he takes a sip of the craft beer that the restaurant makes and serves. It doesn't make him pull TOO much of a face. That's how you know it's good.
Roxanne Spaulding Nomnomnom. More pizza is chowed down. While she mainly looks up at the screen, there is an occasional glance in Peter's direction, seeming to catch those looks every now and then. Roxie bows at his greeting and then motions to her table.

"Wanna join me? Might make room for others. Besides, pizza is better when eaten with good company."
Peter Quill "I can't guarantee I'll be good company, but I'll give it a shot," Peter replies. He takes a few moments gathering up his various things: food, tray, drink, thing that looks like a cellphone, before he carries -- only somewhat awkwardly -- over to where Roxanne is sitting. He sets the various items down slowly, and then pulls out a seat across from her, "Hi," he says again, helpfully, "My name's Peter. Yours?" he asks.
Roxanne Spaulding "Roxanne, but most people call me Roxie." she says, extending a hand out towards him as he offers the introduction. "I'm usually around here, but haven't seen you before. New to the city? Or just visiting."
Peter Quill He takes her hand and gives it a shake, and then Peter fills that same hand with more pizza of his. Pizza is amazing. "Pleasure to meet you Roxie. And..no, I'm just not really around much. I mean, I'm here more than I am most places...around...here." He pauses for a minute as he says that, as if trying to figure out if what he said actually makes sense. Once he decides that it does, he nods, and adds, "You from here originally or brought here by the bright lights?"
Roxanne Spaulding "Not here originally. California." she says as there's a slight SoCal accent if one really listens for it. "But I ended up here for reasons. Lots of complications." Roxie continues with a soft laugh, as she thinks about hiding from Black Razors, I.O. and trying to find her half sister. "I came here to visit family."
Peter Quill "Family's a good reason. I figured from...and, my apologies if this is weird, the look of you that you were an aspiring actress or model." Peter says, just laying it out there. He's not always the most tactful. "Not that I..." he pauses as he thinks on that for a few moments, and then says, "No. Gonna stand by what I said: you could be a model or actress."
Roxanne Spaulding Her cheeks flush a bright tinge of pink at the compliment. She does have her own unique sense of fashion. "Pshaw. I'm not tall enough to be a model. I'm sure if you saw my friends, I'd look rather plain." And her thoughts run to Sarah Rainmaker at that moment.

"But thank you. A girl likes to get complimented every now and then." Roxie admits before taking another bite of her pizza. Nomnomnom.
Peter Quill "I...uh...REALLY want to meet your friends then. That sounds like an amazing time." Peter replies. He grins a little bit at the blushing, and then adds, "Just so long as I don't creep you out with it, not what I'm trying to do here. Just brighten your day."
Roxanne Spaulding A soft chuckle can be heard escaping from her lips. "I don't think you're Sarah's type. She's a bit..." and Roxie tries to find the right words. "Sapphic." There we go! "And there's no creeping me out. You're only creepy if your intentions are creepy. We women can sense that a mile away."
Peter Quill "Sapp...ok." Peter says, seemingly confused by that terminology, "I'm not up on the kids slang these days." He then smiles a little at the comment from Roxanne, "I suppose. Suppose it's hard to be creepy when all you want to do is eat pizza, drink a beer, and not worry about the fate of the universe." Normal, common things that most people think about.
Roxanne Spaulding "She's not into men." Roxie says quite bluntly, as she chuckles softly, when finishing up her pizza slice. "And not worrying about the fate of the universe would definitely sound nice." She leans back quirking a brow at him. "So, what kind of superhero are you then, Peter?" she wonders as she leans forward with a cheeky smile.
Peter Quill "Superhero?" Peter asks, leaning away from Roxie at that question, "I don't think I'm much of a superhero at all. Just a guy, out...doing what he can...to...make the world a better place." Good save there Peter, nobody suspects anything from THAT.
Roxanne Spaulding "Only superheroes worry about the fate of the universe." she says rather matter of factly, as she continues to lean forward. "And it's okay, you can tell me your secret. I won't tell anyone." Then with a little wiggle of her brows, his plate starts to lift up an inch or two before landing gently back on the table.
Peter Quill Peter Quill raises an eyebrow at THAT bit of magic, and then chuckles, "Well, I don't know what to tell you. I'm pretty much just a normal Earth boy from Missouri." Pretty much. Minus all that other stuff. "That's a neat trick you got there though. What's the catch? Mirrors? Magnets? You've doused my pizza with something to get me to hallucinate?" he asks. He seems curious as to how the plate lifted off the table, but he's not going to push it.
Roxanne Spaulding "Earth. Boy." That of course gets another raise of her brows as she shakes her head and mmhmms. "Sure, normal. Earth. Boy." Roxie repeats once more as she flashes her pearly whites in his direction. "I don't know what you're talking about. I'm just a normal Earth girl, you know? Why, did you see something strange happen?"
Peter Quill "Well then, how about we go for a walk and see where it leads?" Peter suggests. Apparently he's not quite comfortable disclosing certain things about himself in public.
Roxanne Spaulding Considering she's finished her pizza, she could go for a walk. There's a stretch and a slight yawn as she hrmms. "Yep. A walk, just like a normal Earth girl and an Earth boy." Roxie definitely finds that phrasing amusing, so she giggles while standing up.
