Owner Pose
Roy Harper Sometimes you just have to get away for awhile.

Admittedly Roy does far more travelling then most people his age. It comes with the territory, being a SHIELD agent, working for the DEA and of course thanks to his ties to Oliver Queen. And while much of his time is spent in New York City these days, it is never an entirely bad thing to get back home.

Even if most of his extended 'family' is also calling New York home for the foreseeable future.

In this case though the trip does give him a chance to introduce Roxie to his old stomping grounds as well. And the first stop on that walk down memory lane? Well, that would have to be where they're staying during this little trip, right? Enter the Queen Mansion.

Passing through the gates and onto the sprawling estate, Roy guides the car to a stop in front of the rather excessively large and impression mansion. A little warmer out here then back east, the sun is even shining for a change and the redhead grins as he slips from the car. "It's not much, but it's as close to a home as I have."
Roxanne Spaulding Starling City. It's not exactly a place that would have been on places that Roxie immediately wants to go to or visit, but when the offer was made by her beau, she takes the opportunity to go and visit his old stomping grounds.

And then they arrive at the mansion. Mouth open. Mouth close. Mouth agape.

Sure, she knew he had access to black credit cards, but she didn't know he lived in an opulent mansion such as this. "Oh, wow. I've never seen anything like this except on TV." Cause MTV cribs and the like.

"Do you have a stoic butler that knows your secret identity and manages all your uniforms?" she asks teasingly. "And not much, you are far too modest, Mister Harper."
Roy Harper More then a few good things have come his way thanks to his association with Oliver Queen -- along with a few bad ones as well admittedly -- and while the mansion and the accompanying lifestyle that could come along with it doesn't mean all that much compared to the family ties that it has given to him, it's still nice to have it to fall back on, right?

"Not too shabby, right?" Roy agrees with a little grin, circling around the car and hauling their bags out, slinging them over his shoulder as he starts for the front door.

"No butler per se, and none of the staff are in the know so hush hush," he says with a wink, leading the way to the door. "And hey, you've seen my apartment. You know how I choose to live when it's just me. Not so fancy," he points out drily. "But this has it's charms too," he admits with a sly grin, fumbling with the door for a moment before leading the way inside.
Roxanne Spaulding "Charms is probably the understatement of the year." Roxie says, heading out of the car, as she follows him when he carries their bags towards the mansion proper. The mention of things being hush hush gets a nod, and she puts a finger to her lips before offering a playful wink.

"I've never been in a place this nice." And then she thinks about it. "Well, other than that penthouse suite you got for us the first night." she says as she steps inside, not sure if she needs to remove her shoes once at the door.

Would she dare dirty the mansion floors with her Payless shoes?
Roy Harper That draws a faint smirk from the redhead and he holds the door open for her before slipping in after, the front hall being something of a cavernous affair with high arched ceilings and a pair of circular staircases leading up towards the upper levels of the house. The dark panelling and all the little touches make it clear that the Queen money definitely has a few years behind it.

"It is a little bit like living in a museum at times," Roy notes drily as he follows her in, leaving his shoes on. It's been dry as of late it would seem, enough so that he's not worried about making extra work for the staff by tramping mud about.

Setting the bags down, he glances her way once more. "So, shall I give you the grand tour, or did you just want to get settled in?"
Roxanne Spaulding The offer of the tour brings a bright smile onto her lips. Hooking her arm with his, she bows her head, "I would looooove a grand tour. We can get settled in after you show me around."

And then she suddenly remembers something and snerks just a bit, "Unless there's a girl here who is going to talk about how everyone will be able to hear us doing stuff, in which case, I would say skip the tour."

Oh yes, she still remembers that, and she isn't sure about his luck with such things yet.
Roy Harper Smirking faintly, Roy makes a face at her and slips his arm through her own. "No one around here with super hearing. At least so far as I know," the redhead remarks wryly before starting to lead her through the grand hall.

Each room is seemingly more impressive then the last, with rich, opulent displays of wealth. Not a lot of humbleness here, from the paintings to the lush rugs to the library filled with rare, leather bound books. One suspects that they don't see a ton of use all things considered, but remain a left over display from a time mostly past now. Leading her through the library, the sitting room with its garden view and into a grand ol' ballroom, Roy purses lips. "Mmmmm, some of this place does lack the more homey touches," he points out drily.
Roxanne Spaulding As she wanders through the mansion, she can't help but chuckle once more. "You weren't kidding when you said this place feels like a museum." Roxie admits, as she looks at all the paintings an various other accoutrement that adorn the walls or stand in the hallways, grand ballrooms, sitting rooms, and beyond.

"Is there a hedge maze in the garden?" Because that would be rather extra, and sometimes, she likes extra. "So you grew up here?" she asks, clearly still in awe at the place, squeezing his bicep as they enter the grand ballroom.

"I've /never/ been in a place where there was a room called a ballroom, let alone, a /grand/ ballroom."
Roy Harper It can be a little much, clearly. But then perhaps familiarity makes the whole thing seem a little more comfortable.

"It can take some getting used to. A few of the rooms feel more like a real home and not some sort of display. Some of them are clearly for show. That sort of thing still mattered for Oliver's father and mother," he says with a small shrug of his shoulders.

"And as it so happens, there is a hedge maze yes. It's even a nice enough day out that we can go walk it later if you'd like," the redhead says with a grin. "And I mean, I was tweleve before I came to live here, but yeah, I spent my teen years living here at least, though I started going to school in Happy Harbor at one point so I got used to commuting back and forth pretty early one."

"Well, look at that. I've given you a first it seems," he teases with a wink. "The annual Christmas party in here is pretty impressive. That's one thing I missed about this past year."
Roxanne Spaulding Glancing about the grand ballroom, she grins toothily in his direction, leaning in against him as she hops up to steal a quick peck on the cheek. "I'm sure you'll give me a lot of firsts." Roxie whispers, before she hrmms, definitely imagining herself dancing about in a grand ballgown.

"Would it be formal? Would I need to be in some sort of huuuuge Beauty and the Beast style gown?" Cause she would absolutely love that. At the mention of missing the party she nods, "There's always this year, hun. Maybe I'll be your date!"
Roy Harper It is admittedly not hard to imagine the room full of people, the chandeliers glinting with reflected light, music coming from a quartet up on the elevated platform at one end of the room. Crossing the hardwood floor, Roy casts a grin her way and winks impishly at her. "I certainly hope so," he returns lightly before leading the way into the formal dinning room.

"And it varies a little from year to year, but if you'd like something formal where a floofy dress would be appropriate I can get the request in early," he points out with a grin. "I have an in with the owner afterall," he notes slyly before laughs. "Mmmmm, something to look forward to."
Roxanne Spaulding What girl doesn't want to be a Disney princess at least once in her life? Roxie is definitely in that category, as she offers an impish and excited grin. "If it wouldn't be an imposition." she says softly as she ooohs at the mention of the in with the owner.

"And yeah, slow dancing with you across the dance floor, making sure that everyone's eyes are on you because of how hot you are and how hot your date is." she says with a laugh.
Roy Harper That draws another grin from the redhead as he leads her past that long table and the cabinets filled with fine china and assorted decorations, giving her arm a little squeeze. "Sounds like a pretty good way to spend the holidays to me," he agrees with a playful wink, continuing that slow, unhurried tour of the mansion.

Passing through the next set of doors they finally arrive in the kitchen and some semblance of normality. Though large with all the finest appliances, at least there aren't paintings and other lavish decorations covering the walls and the little breakfast nook at the far end overlooking the gardens outback is almost downright homey in it's own way.
Roxanne Spaulding The kitchen is still huuuuge compared to what she's normally used to. Glancing about, she ooohs at all the burners, kitchen island space, and the devices all around. "So fancy." Roxie says before reaching for his hand so her fingers can entwine with his own.

"So, do you like to cook? I've always wanted a kitchen like this, though I feel like I'd talk as if I was filming a cooking show while cooking if I had something like it."
Roy Harper He lets his fingers entwine with her own, glancing around the kitchen with a faint smile before his attention turns her way once more. "Definitely a little nicer then I've got in my place back in New York," he conceeds drily. By a pretty considerable margin.

"Well, I mean I don't love it. I'm not a horrible cook at least and I do a few things decently," he admits before flashing her a grin once more. "Sounds like I lucked out though and that you don't mind doing a little cooking. You just get hotter and hotter," he teases.
Roxanne Spaulding "I had to cook for myself for some time." she admits, not exactly having the best childhood, and of course it's not like Grunge, Bobby, or Sarah really cooked either, so she had to learn. "It's just hours watching Food Network." Roxie says with a playful wink.

"Soooo, what about your room? Isn't that where we should end the tour?" she coos.
Roy Harper "Well, I mean that's why I learned too. One can only eat pre-packaged stuff for so long," Roy agrees with a low laugh. While the last several years has opened his eyes to the lifestyles of the rich, he has, fortunately or not, experienced things from the other side too. If nothing else it insures a little balance.

"Seems like a good place to me," he agrees with a low laugh, gesturing with his head. "Lets go grab the bags from the front hall and we can settle in properly," the redhead exists. Nothing like a good homecoming.
