Thea Queen Oh god.

One of those mornings where one wishes the night before didn't really exist. It could have been much, much worse, however. She got the hangover 'remedy' from someone at the party, and so far, it's working. She's taking 'coffee' as 'black coffee', and is choking on it a little before a face is made, and more is taken. One swallow, two.. and she's got the cup set down, making a 'sit, stay' hand gesture towards it, flat hand in its direction.

Thea is dressed like training, sure... mostly. She's got a bare-midriff dark colored workout top on, royal blue stretch training pants on, and bobbed hair is pinned back, away from her slightly bloodshot eyes.

It's only a moment, however, before she picks up the coffee again and tries to take another swallow of the black stuff, even going so far as to close her eyes. Finally, as if she's taking a shot, she empties the cup and sets it back on a table with a *thump* and pushes it away,

"That is disgusting."

Thea is looking and feeling her best... heh. Not.
Oliver Queen Were they at the same party? Yes.

And if one was to guess about the way Ollie was dancing the night away at the dance floor one could even guess his night was quite eventful. But in the morning here he is. Messages had been sent earlier. Training as usual! No rest for the wicked and all that...., and some members of the Queen family certainly seemed to have been wicked the night before..

True to tradition Ollie had just finished going through one set on the salmon ladder. Up, then down. Sure, there was a tightening of his jaw at the effort, he not fully immune to the effects of last night. But he had yet to start talking to his coffee. Yet. Not that he didn't have one waiting for him nearby.

"Was the hellfire club party all you had wished for?" One brow slowly arching, gauging Thea's overall disposition. It didn't seem like the best of them!

The man is also dressed for training, dark green training pants, a t-shirt that clings to his muscled torso. The only real tell that he had been affected was that his beard wasn't as trimmed as usual. Tsk!
Thea Queen "Huh?"

Distracted, thy name is Thea Queen.

"Oh.. yah.. sure. It was great." She shrugs a single-shouldered shrug and glances over at her brother as he finishes the salmon ladder and shakes her head. There's something of a self-deprecating barked laugh as she continues, "Only threw up once."

The younger sibling doesn't look too terribly interested in any of the training centers at the moment. Instead, Thea takes up a spot on the edge of a table and exhales in a sigh. Her head cants and her lips form a fine, thin line, and begins with the words,

"Ollie, I've been thinking."
Oliver Queen "Well, as long as you enjoyed yourself." Because in truth only throwing up once was a good achievement. If this was young Ollie he most likely would had been dragged out of there in arms by Tommy or someone else.

He jumps back down to the floor once he is done with the ladder, making way to his coffee. Black, same as Thea's, and no sugar of course. He takes a good, heart swig from it but at those last words he furrows his brows.

"And what have you been thinking, Thea?" He inquires. Considering the look he apparently is taking it seriously. Arms fold together and he rests an hip against the edge of the table, regarding his sister thoughtfully.
Thea Queen Thea didn't have anyone to drag her out, thus.. moderation. No Tommy, either. (He'd saved her bacon too! More than once.)

She looks past Ollie at the ladder, then around to where her suit is hanging before returning her gaze to her brother, her own arms crossing in something of a defensive posture. It's her digging in with her stubborn streak manner.

"I don't think I'm gonna be around much for training. I have so much to do on the club." There's a good excuse... the club.

She lifts a shoulder, and keeps her tones lighter than she feels, "Besides... I don't feel like I'm really doing anything. Like, like I'm not doing anything." The second time, it's stressed a little more.

Uncrossing her arms, she takes hold of the table behind her as she leans. "You don't need me anyway."

Maybe in an attempt to help, Thea adds quickly, "The club will still be a 'you and me' thing, though."
Oliver Queen "I thought you were committed in getting back to shape." Oliver replies, his expression as, well.., expressionless as ever. Because really he has never been the type to give too much of his emotions through his face. But for someone who has known him for that long it's clear he isn't exactly happy about what Thea is telling him.

"Or what exactly do you mean when you say you aren't doing anything?" It makes him cant his way to the side, somewhat surprised at those words, and then at the following ones. "Do you really think I don't need you, Thea?" he questions, his tone hardening. "We have been together long enough for you to know that is not true."
Thea Queen "I'm also pretty committed to getting the club going, Ollie. In case you haven't noticed." It's the easiest way Thea can get back; right or wrong, indignant anger helps not feeling guilty. But, as she said, she's been thinking about this a lot. A lot since she met a demon on a rooftop in NYC. "I've got a pile of permits in the offices and I'm getting the bullet holes plastered up." Like they'd joked about when they 'cleared' the place. "Still have to replace the window in the office, though." Her arms come up again, and cross her chest, her blue eyes not dropping from her brother's.

"That's exactly what I mean. I.. I feel like I have this little teaspoon, and I'm scooping out the ocean. I want to feel useful." Needed... but that isn't happening. "But I'm not. So, I need to find out how, and-and-and... that?" She gestures towards the suits hanging up, "I'm counting more than two. And I'm not saying that's bad." Her tones soften slightly, "Believe it or not, I'm glad you're happy."
Oliver Queen "I have noticed." They were getting shot at just a few days ago because of it! And well, because there were traffickers inside the future Verdant. Details. But Oliver lets out an exhale. "And so am I. Though I still need to go see how the renovations are going." no guilt in his tone. Even if he may somewhat feel like so. Truth is, keeping everything balanced in his life was hard enough, with the company, the vigilantism...

"And yes, I have not forgotten this is a you and me thing. It also means you don't have to go and do all by yourself, I can take care of some of those. I know enough construction companies in Starling that I can get in restoring the place in no time." He suggests, his blue eyes also not leaving Thea's. Yes, staredown contest between the Queens.

Yet he knows a thing or two about trying to scoop up the ocean with a teaspoon, considering his connection to the JLA. Hard enough feeling useful sometimes but ... "You don't need to scoop up the ocean to be useful, Thea. Or is this about something else...?" his eyes trail to the suits and he frowns just so.

"Is this about Vanessa?"
Thea Queen There's no staredown contest like a Queen sibling staredown contest. Even Batman himself would be hard pressed between the pair. They've both learned over the years how to keep a steady gaze.

"I have an interior designer, but the point is, it's going to take my time. And as it is? Something has to give." And it's sounding like it's that red suit sitting with the greens. Plural.

"You don't have time." It's a statement born of, if not fact, history. "And I don't expect you to. You're doing all this, and I'm sure you're doing a lot of good out there." Thea's good; keeping her attention fully on her brother, arms crossed against her chest. There's no backing down.

"But, Oliver, I do. I want at least a bucket. Then, I might feel like I can do something. One drug dealer here, one there..." Thea shakes her head and looks intently, "It doesn't feel like it matters."

A sigh exits the younger of the Queens and she cants her head before she rolls it back slightly, her hands dropping again to sit beside her, grasping the edge of the table. "Not really?" Sure about that, Thea? "No.. I'm glad you're happy. You deserve that. And she can do all that really neat stuff. But I'm gonna focus on that club."
Oliver Queen "Are you saying what we do here doesn't matter..?" That .., makes Oliver blink. Or perhaps he simply misunderstood. But the epic staredown continues. Intensifies even! Just the bare hints of a frown. "I thought you, more than anyone else understood what I am doing here, what we were doing here." his jaw tightens but he does seem more resigned than upset.

He takes in a breath but then dips his head. "I can respect you not wanting to be a part of this right now though. I won't be the one trying to shackle you down." and he also knows better than to try to keep her sister put. He can only hope she doesn't get her wings clipped when she flies out there.

Though surely enough that gleam of an old fox returns to his eyes. Give a little but then take! "Yet don't think I am convinced about your .., lacking time. You can make time if you want to, like I do." nope, not buying that story! Not that he presses for further answers ..., yet.
Thea Queen Thea's jaw shifts, tightens, and there's no way Ollie could mistake it for anything but one of her counter attacks, holding on to the emotion in order to make her rebuttal. While her hands were down, it .. opened her up, but now, her arms cross in front of her, closing herself off as those blue eyes hint at a fire behind them. "Ollie, you know I haven't seen any of your friends in a long time." Clark. Bruce. "And I know you've probably been talking to them while I've been.. spitting into the wind. Because that's how it feels. Sure, I get it. Little sister. Protect her. But there's a HOLE in New York City, and here I am." Thea with the big heart and idealism still to go along with it.

"It's at least something to help our home, the club, I mean. Maybe.. I mean, I'll be giving jobs to people in the area. I've already promised myself that, but Ollie?" Now, the fire shifts to something a little more .. Thea'ish. "I can't just sit on the side. Not when I know in my heart there's more going on than I know. So," She offers a tight-lipped smile and a hint of a shrug as she backs down just a little, but her words are the same intensity, albeit softer,

"Someone's gotta be there when they come home. I can't move on. Never could."
Oliver Queen Yes, Oliver is known for his gruntese. He could even give a class on it. But on the same level he also can read those shifts on his sister. Open book? Not exactly. Some chapters he can't just get access to yet. But he braces himself for the smaller woman's fury, which pretty means he squares his shoulders and gets ready to 'butt' heads as needed. "I have spoken with them, yes." that much was no secret. "But things are more complicated than you think.." Fight Brainiac? The League had yet to assemble or even touch the subject..

But then he lets out a brief sigh, a nod as if he understood what she meant. Or at least part of it. "Stopping your training doesn't seem the right move if you want to be ready though. But it's as I said, I won't stop you. I never could even if I wanted to afterall."

Though something just doesn't seem fine with Oliver, even if he doesn't verbalize it.
Thea Queen 'More complicated than you think'

Thea exhales in a frustrated sigh as she cants her head up to look her brother squarely in the eye. "Because no one ever talked to me. That's my point."

Shaking her head, the younger Queen pushes off the table and looks ready to go. "You can find me at the club," she says finally. "I have to figure out what I can do, I guess." She shrugs her shoulders, but it's less dismissive as 'no idea what to do'. "Maybe I'll just drive Mother nuts and start a foundation or something. Maybe she'll like it. Tax write-off that'll be legal."

Thea sets her head down, her arms still crossed as she makes to move past her brother. "Whatever you're doing, just stay safe."
Oliver Queen "We have barely even spoken with one another in years." This Ollie says about the rest of the Justice League members. "We haven't even fully figured out yet if we are coming back or not. That is why things are complicated. I am not trying to push you away from it." yet he wouldn't deny a certain protectiveness towards his sister. He knows that the Jleague deals with certain.., tough threats..

"Perhaps it's more me not having figured out you wanted to take that step further." Yet he can understand it. He's been in her place, wanting to do more than what he did. It was what had led him to the justice league in the first place, somewhere he could actually do what he was supposed to.

When Thea moves to walk away he reaches over to place one hand on her shoulder, unless she ninja dodges him which is entirely feasible! He says. "Thea." his tone that of a big brother that doesn't want to end a conversation on a sour note. "If you want to seriously consider joining we can talk about it later. But just pushing away won't do anything. Don't make the same mistakes I have made." his hand leaves her shoulder.
Thea Queen "I don't know what I want right now, Oliver," Thea pauses with the hand on her shoulder, but she'll be slipping out from under soon enough. "What I know, though, is that I don't feel like I'm doing enough. And short of running away and joining some mutant undercover squad, I.. I don't know." There's that underlying feeling of helplessness, and lack of ability to do anything.

Just like when her father and brother went missing, all those years ago. Someone still hasn't fully gotten over it, if it's possible to!

"I don't know what mistakes you've made, Ollie." She turns blue eyes up to his again and tight-smiles. "I suppose we'll talk about it later." There's a pause before, "I'll be at the club."

Now, she moves to slide out from under his hand and makes her way out towards the door of the arrow cave, putting her hand out lightly on the case that holds the leathers as she passes them.
