Daniel Hastings Lost? Maybe. Daniel was told to check out the school sometime and so who's going to argue with the boss. Cleaned up and now wearing something a little nicer than the same worn clothes he's had for five years, he's now walking the halls like this is not anything unusual. How he got into the building is anyone's guess since he doesn't have a guest pass on his jacket but he doesn't look to be 'sneaking' so much wandering with a curiosity. Now he's found himself in the admin wing and is looking for.. well.. someone. He missed the 'main' entrance so the ide aof finding the secretary won't help him here.
Morrigan MacIntyre Does Morrigan ever go home? Probably not. She just moved into a new house closer to the school, so maybe she was lacking furniture? Who knew?! The tall red head rounds a corner just as Daniel is heading down the Admin hall. She stops though, looking at the back of the man. The Irish woman was a little confused as she wasn't sure they had any meeting scheduled. She's dressed in a lavendar pencil skirt, black heels and a crisp white dress shirt that's tucked in neatly and with the collar open, showing an impressive amount of scarring down her throat and chest. "Sir, did you need help with something?" the Irish accented voice asks.
Daniel Hastings The clack of walking heels got his attention and Daniel was turning around to face her even as she was addressing him. Her presence caused him a momentary eyebrow raise and pause but then he stepped forward jauntily and offered his hand out to her. Wasn't he further down the hallway? "Daniel Hastings." He introduces himself. "A colleague of mine teaches computer science here and told me to come give a tour of the school. She.. was actually encouraging me to teach." Call if an inquiry anyway. "Ah. To clarify. Daniel Hastings, PhD, Oxford. Theoretical and applied physics, astrophysics, developmental mathematics, dimensional theorems.. that sort of thing." His other hand rolls the wrist as if to say nothing fancy.
Morrigan MacIntyre Morrigan doesn't recognize his face from the fight to save Jamie, but the sudden movement causes the woman to straighten a bit as she extends her hand, "Doctor Morrigan MacIntyre. Harvard Medical." she offers to him with a smile. "I remember you from a coffee shop, you looked like you really needed coffee." she admits "Sorry, that wasn't the greatest thing to say." she frowns. "I wasn't expecting anyone so please forgive if I don't have all of my manners gathered, Doctor Hastings." she tells him. "And is your friend Miss Johnson?" she asks with a smile. "And would you like to sit or continue walking?" she adds.
Daniel Hastings Daniel chuckles, "She is, actually." Dipping his chin, he gives a game sort of shrug. "and.. I did. Only I wasn't quite expecting so many choices." There's a sweep of his hand generally. "By all means, lead on. I'm not sure that I'll be available full time. Given that Miss Johnson is.. one of my friends." Double meaning there for sure. "But I can certainly see the allure of teaching."
Morrigan MacIntyre Morrigan's not stupid by any means, the look in her eyes and other things might signal heightened intelligence. "Coffee has gotten quite ridiculous over the years." she chuckles to that. "I just want cream and sugar. Or tea. It's not that difficult." she shakes her head. Then she continues on, "Ah. So you're part of SHIELD as well or...friends from school?" she asks him. "You like working with kids, Doctor Hastings?" she asks him.
Daniel Hastings "Ahh now tea. Yes. Tea. That is something hard to ruin." Daniel agrees. "Not impossible.. just hard." Dipping his chin to that, he takes her last question and mulls it over. "I.. let us just say that I endeavor for a brighter future. Our youth.. are the gateway to that future. Whether I end up liking it? I can't say that until I've done it. Most of my work's been in a lab, to be fair."
Morrigan MacIntyre "Your future is already looking bright here." Morrigan muses to that as she walks with him. Then there's a bit of a chuckle, "I love children, but, I have to admit sometimes I feel like I'm going to be overbearing or that all of our students will end up hating me due to the rules...but they are there for a reason." she admits. "I just want to do what is right by them." she nods to this. "Heading Pathology at Mount Sinai is easier. Things don't rebel too much." she chuckles. "So what were you looking to teach?" she asks him.
Daniel Hastings Daniel Hastings blinks twice. "Ahh.. math? Physics? Astronomy? Alien civilizations?" That one might cause her to pause. He looks quite serious on the point though and simply smiles. "I suppose that depends on where your needs are. I could teach chemistry I suppose but that's not where my passion lies."
Morrigan MacIntyre Morrigan gives a look to him, "Alien civilizations?" she asks. "As fascinating as it sounds...I think we'd like to keep the lid on the Alien things for the moment. Sadly not being able to divulge powers and things can sometimes be a double edged sword." she sighs. "Right now I would love anyone wanting to teach Math, Physics or Chemistry. If you're available full time we could probably give you classes to switch off of." she admits. "I'm going to see if I can fit a time to teach into the schedule. I feel like I'm letting everyone else do the work." she admits. "If Chemistry is not where your passion lies then don't teach it." she tells him.
Daniel Hastings Daniel Hastings ahhs. "Yes.. she did mention that you were wanting to keep things.. under wraps." His lips purse then he strokes his chin. "I'll know soon what sort of time I have available to me. Do you have a card? Or a number I might reach you at? And.. I assume I'll need to put in an application." A beat. "Though.. if Miss Johnson is teaching.. then that may be a negotiable thing." Hinting at the SHIELD sponsorship of the school.
Morrigan MacIntyre Morrigan gives a quirk of her eyebrow, "It is not my experiment being ran. We have a school where human students and students that are mutants, metahumans and aliens in origin are among the populace. How long would it take for someone to rip their kid from the school or for someone to attack here if it came out that we wanted to see how it would go with helping the kids integrate?" she shakes her head. Then she takes a moment to take a breath and center herself, "Sorry. The protection of all the students is my first concern." she states. "And yes, applications need to be filed. I do have a card." she states as she pulls out a silver card case and passes him a card. Then there's a bit of a smile, "I mean, you two young kids being friends might have fun teaching together as well." she nods to that.
Daniel Hastings Daniel Hastings lifts a palm. "No one is objecting to your want to protect the children, Doctor. I quite agree with you. If anything.. my abilities may be able to.. mm.. nip issues of accidental power use in the bud?" He offers vaguely as he accepts the card from her. "Yes. Well. Us to young kids.. are coworkers." Ahem. "So I'm not sure you'll see much on that front." Though it did catch him offguard. Maybe there was something there.
Morrigan MacIntyre Morrigan's proverbial hackles lay back down and she chuckles, "Sorry." she tells him. "I'm just working with SHIELD and others that have a hand in this to make sure things work." she admits. "And I know accidents will happen. I'm hoping that we can sort of keep them to few and far between, but I've already had someone beating up bullies." she muses. She liked Xiomara. Then she looks to him, "I mean, if teachers are dating that's fine. I just don't want anyone trying to date students." she tells him. "So no judgement." she gives him a smile.
Daniel Hastings "Doctor. I'm.. a thirty year old man." Why did Daniel have to stop and think about that one. "I assure you that none of the girls here are going to draw my attention in that manner short of using some manner of metahuman ability... or.. being some super genius that wows me with a new unified field theorem." He tosses them about randomly then looks to her. "I'm kidding. Truly. I'd like anyone I'm seeing to.. well.. have at least experienced something they can share with me. Life experience. Something that anyone beneath the legal limit of fraternization won't have. Nevermind.. the.. hormonal explosions I really don't have time for." Dating teens. Good lord. What a thought.
Morrigan MacIntyre "You don't look thirty. You look mid twenties at best. So I'm jealous of your genes." Morrigan chuckles. "And you can call me Morrigan. Or Doc. Seems like that the kids like to call me that." she laughs. "And I meant more if your interest in Miss Johnson is more than Academic we won't kick you out for it." she admits. "And yeah, I don't even think other teenagers want to date teenagers." she muses. "It's a rough few years the teen years." she shakes her head.
Daniel Hastings Daniel Hastings ahhs, lifting his chin as if that explained it better than some insinuation that he was a pedophile. "Yes. Well. As I say, I don't see that cup holding water so I wouldn't worry yourself about it." He reaches into his pocket and takes out a phone. "I do have an email address if you were able to send me a link to the application?" He held the business card between two fingers while he typed an abridged email to the address on the card. "There we are. Now you have my contact information. Delightful device, hmm?"
Morrigan MacIntyre Morrigan ahs, "Well, we never know." she shrugs. "Anyways...yes. I can send you a link to the application and things. And if you want a tour of the grounds we can give you one sometime." she admits. There's a look to his phone, "I mean...they keep making cellphones in ways that might replace computers at some point. So they are good sometimes." she smiles. She then looks to her watch, "Speaking of phones, I need to swing by my office before I head to dinner." she tells him.
Daniel Hastings Daniel Hastings nods to her. "I'll just see myself out then? Thank you for talking to me. I'm glad I ran into you. The campus is.. huge. Not unlike some colleges back.. where I'm from." Ahem. He smiles and gives her a sort of salute by way of farewell.
