Peggy Carter The team of highly trusted individuals who have been working with Peggy Carter for months now to root HYDRA out of SHIELD were told now is finally the time. The brief? It seems most of STRIKE are the HYDRA moles in SHIELD, going all the way up to Jasper Sitwell. They have Jasper imprisoned now, got the passphrase for HYDRA operatives out of him, and have managed to get him to call the rest of his team (with some other HYDRA loyalists in addition) to a top secret mission starting at The Rat. It's a mousetrap of hopefully the most effective sort, but a highly dangerous one as well.

The HYDRA loyalists have been informed that there are two high powered, if involitale, inhumans being stored in cryofreeze beneath the Rat. The SSR never officially passed them onto SHIELD, possibly out of distrust of those old Paperclip agents, but HYDRA wants them now. They might come out fighting, so a whole team is needed to subdue them and several scientists to make certain they are stable for transport. It's a good set up and believable, but it also means the team is ready for a fight. Granted, when they get together, they always are. It still probably sounds like babysitting duty.

Peggy told her people to get their far earlier, hours ahead of time to secure the old prison the way they like and find places to hide away from STRIKE's eyes so it'll be a surprise when they all come to be arrested. There are long cooridors, three levels of old prison cells, offices, and a large warehouse-like docking bay where the highly armored trucks and tanks would come in to bring the most dangerous prisoners. Everyone on the SHIELD team has been given new communicators without the HYDRA tech in them, so should be able to talk without being overheard. Small monitoring devices have been set up. A good hour before the STRIKE team was to arrive, everyone was told to get into place. Find somewhere to be unseen. Get comfortable. Be ready to fight.
Bobbi Morse     There's no way Fury, Hill, or May were ever going to keep Bobbi away from this mission. Even with the risks, it's better they bring overwhelming force to the table than not. And so the Mockingbird is in full tactical gear. Wings and goggles and staves and ICERs and all. Even that silly M belt buckle Daisy got her.

Her sabotage? those big doors in to the hanger are simply not going to be closing. This means she can fly in as soon as they trap is ready to be sprung. <<One quinjet landing in the hanger, another outside the hanger, armored truck inbound. I'm guessing they have quite a few men for this one>> Bobbi tells the team over their shiny new comms.

Watching from afar, a quick glance is given to her heart rate monitor on her wrist. All good on that front. <<I see ICERs and regular munitions>> she says and adds <<If you have PTX-47, take it now>>. She jabs a needle in to her thigh and inject hrself with PTX-47, an experimental drug that counter-acts the effects of high dosage dendro-toxin. Ie: protects one from the night night guns.

A quick glance up and to the left activates the eye-tracking user interface in her goggles and she turns on her wings. The loose split cloak hanging from her back snaps in to the shape of wings and begins to glow purple from the alien technology sewn inside. <<Once they've penetrated deep enough in to The Rat, give us the signal and we engage>>.
Melinda May May has been anticipating this for a long time. She has passed the time waiting for the traitors going through katas in her mind, focusing her thoughts and channelling her emotions into a laser focus. She's taken up position in the center of one of the largest cell blocks -- the place where STRIKE expects to find a pair of Inhumans.

And, after a fashion, they will. Maybe not the 0-8-4 scale Inumans they're waiting for, but still... She and Morse *do* qualify.

She acknowledges Bobbi's info with a quick, "<<Copy>>" over coms. And then injects the antiserum.

"<<I'm in position,>>" she tells the team. "<<Just don't leave me hanging.>>" She's sure they won't. But since she'll appear alone when Garrett and co walk in? It's nice to know the team will be there to get the drop on them.
Lance Hunter Early arrival and set up is good tactics but hell on the nerves, with hours of waiting for your marks to arrive and the action to begin. So by the time the word comes that their marks are on their way Lance has just about paced through the floor of the old cell he was hiding in, << Finally >> he says over comms, he removes his injector pen from his belt, grimacing as he injects it into his thigh. "Bloody hate needles," he mutters tossing the thing aside and taking hold of his ICER pistol again. <<Red Five standing by>> he couldn't help but make the Star Wars reference. <<Good luck everyone. And Bobs, don't die out there.>>
James Barnes Well, Bucky's been a master of hide and seek since the SSR days. So, he's found himself a hidden high place in the rafters of the docking bay. He's set up with a rifle, with both ICER and lethal ammunition to hand. <<I understood that reference,>> he says, and behind the deadpan, there's a little note of pleasure in his voice. His face is also close to expressionless, but there's a gleam in his eyes that is anything but cool and calm. HYDRA's dared profane the one place he thought was a true sanctuary, and that's made it even more personal than usual.
Sharon Carter Waiting was the hard part; much like Lance, Sharon took up an unoccupied cell within the Rat while they awaited the special escorts, stress ball in hand which was tossed to the ceiling as she lays on the ruined cot. Women didn't invent shampoo for nothing, whatever gets in her hair would get out sooner or later, at least that's her thought.

<<Say when.>>

The only words Sharon could offer up; it was odd being on a mission with.. well, everyone. Most of the time she was alone, and favored that. But maybe it was time for something new. Her own gear was worn, tactical belt, icers in their holsters, bulletproof vest. Hair tucked into a ponytail with black gloves, but yet, silver brass knuckles lined her fingers. Classics. Gotta love them.
Steve Rogers A figure dressed in pure black tactical gear and a matching balaclava mask watches from the shadows of the hangar area, up in the rafters where the outfit blends into the shadows. He lays along a beam that supports the roof, watching as the one quinjet flies inside and touches down.

A hand reaches to the man's back, confirming the absence of a certain item that would usually be there. "There's got to be some kind of joke about not having a shield given who we're facing," he mumbles to himself as he watches those disembarking from the plane.

Seeing one of the members of STRIKE who had had his back on a mission against weapons smugglers in Mexico makes Steve Rogers teeth clench. << They are starting to disembark. I'll focus on the two quinjets, >> says the man lacking anything that will make him look like Captain America to their foes.
Peggy Carter From the initial quinjet, Garrett and his men start spilling out into the hangar. He's in full on work mode now, suited up himself in a tac suit that looks rather more enhanced than simple SHIELD equipment. He's got a series of vials along his utility belt with half a dozen firearm strapped various places to him. He's checking to make certain they are all clear and ready to go as his team steps into the area.

He waits until the second load of STRIKE agents comes out from where they landed, looking across the teams in the arrival bay, "I want readings on whatever is underneath this rust heap." He asks of the two HYDRA scientists they've brought. "Sitwell said they've got two down there and that bitch Carter destroyed most of the records on them so SHIELD wouldn't get ahold of whatever they've got. You know the drill. Go in, unfreeze, stablized, unconscious, bring them in. Shouldn't be too hard but we don't know what we're dealing with, boys." The mission briefing revisit done, and his weapons clear, he starts getting ready to go forward again. Then he pauses, frowning at the silohuette of May across the room.

"...Agent May, we've got this under control. No need to bring your team in." He doesn't say 'Little Lady' but it's definitely implied in his voice.

Peggy's hidden down one of the prisoner halls herself, ready to whip out into the room behind their position. Her jaw tightens as she hears that and she follows suit with Bobbi, stabbing that needle into her leg, "Wake up drugs in. I almost hope they don't surrender, he's...such and asshole." She subvocalizes over the comms. "The moment they refuse arrest, everyone, give them what you have. We get one surprise at this and nothing else. Disable is priority, but they all need taken out of the picture. One way or another. And if you can take a quin jet out fast, then you only have to worry about one in the sky, Rogers. Try not to crash it this time? There's no icebergs quite this far sound." Nervous, but Peg still has some humor in her.
Melinda May May is in her SHIELD tac suit, complete with eagles on her shoulders because screw it. She's SHIELD. They're HYDRA. She's going to fight wearing the right colours. And rip any hint of SHIELD insignia off their traitorous hides. "Garrett," she says, sauntering forward. "Yeah. About that..."

Her ICER still sits in its holster on her thigh. "You guys are good, I'll give you that. But... well..." She raises her dark gaze to meet his. "Under the authority given me by Director Fury, you and your team are under arrest for treason. Drop your weapons and stand down. This doesn't have to get messy."

That doesn't mean she expects them to comply. In fact, she rather hopes they don't. "HYDRA's done, John. You chose the wrong side."

"Aw, May," Garrett says, laughter on his lips. "And here I thought you were one of the smart ones." His ICER comes up and he fires. A pair of dendrotoxin slugs slam into her torso as she throws herself out of the way and rolls. "Get her, boys!"

May finds herself glad of two things -- 1. She's got her tac suit on; 2. She's got that antiserum in her veins. Doesn't mean the shots don't hurt, though. Grunting, she rolls back to where a bit of equipment has been discarded. As she comes to her feet, a white, rune-inscribed staff kicks up from her toes to her hands. Visions of Bahrain, and of every single time HYDRA has tried to wipe the floor with her flood her brain, washing through her veins. Her hands grip the staff and she peels her lips back in a snarling grin. "Come get me, asshole."

Ragestaff in hand, she springs forward to engage. It's on, SHIELD. It's totally on.
Bobbi Morse     It's a STRIKE team, but it's not a STRIKE mission. Their cameras are off but their dwarves are out. Little drones spilling in to the facility searching. Bobbi instructs <<Agent Quon - dwarves - now>> The little drones' signal flickers for a moment as SHIELD hijacks their own technology to feed a fake signal back to the Garrett's men. No sneaky SHIELD agents hiding here and two glowing blobs down under the facility. A nice fake out - a good way to encourage them to invest in their mission if they think there's a prize at the end of the tunnel.

<<Don't die Lance, that's an order>> Bobbi replies to Lance. <<Cap. I'll get the quinjet on the outside, you get the quinjet on the inside. Bucky take out the armored transport. Hunter, Carters, their men are spreading out through the prison, get ready>>

<<That's a go, all agents move in>> she says and flies down from her perch to the ramp of the quinjet outside the hanger. The quinjet at this point is empty of everyone except the pilot. Bobbi shoots her ICER at the pilot who ooofs and turns and shoots his ICER back at Bobbi, which smarts but neither of then go down. Realising this the pilot parkours out of his pilot seat and charges in to punch at Bobbi. She moves with his momentum and throws him over her shoulder, drops down and grapples him in to a choke hold.

As the pilot's struggles end in to unconsciousness Bobbi calls out over their comms <<Heads up, they've also taken PTX-47, swap from ICER rounds>>
Lance Hunter Hunter grins << Knew you were a man of culture Barnes >> he replies to the man. Then the badguys are disembarking, and coming in << His friends aren't much better. STRIKE in any incarnation is full of wankers >> he chimes in about Garret before the action begins.

<< Understood commander >> Hunter says especially about not dying, he gives things a moment to pop off, before he emerges from his cell. Automatic fire rings out and he ducks back in firing off two rounds blind. No luck. He takes a breath, glancing back out to take a count of the opposition. << Carters, got two in the east corridor with M4's an assist would be welcome.>>
James Barnes <<Gotta say, I like the series about the guy in the tin suit and his little frog son best of all that stuff,>> Buck says, but his voice is already abstracted. <<Acknowledged,>> he adds, and now his voice is flat. Heeding Bobbi's direction, he swaps in the heaviest stuff he's got. The kind that will pierce armor and kill an engine block. There's a trio of quick shots from him, hitting the transport with a metallic clang....and a last one to damage the wheels, just in case. Then he's packing up in haste - positiong given away, he can't hang around - and running along the rafter to the route down he's already planned.
Sharon Carter Sharon raises a hand to hear ear as she listens, her face crinkling. It was clearly go time, May already kicking off the action and Bobbi already throwing down in a quinjet. Sharon rises from her spot upon the beds and tightens her fists, preparing to head out of the cell.

<<PTX-47? What the hell is that?>>

Someone totally missed the memo. Lance's announcement has Sharon backing up further into the cell, twisting her ankles, drawing her pistols from her holsters. Rounds were changed upon instruction as quick as she could make it, then rushes out of her cell at a breakneck run.

<<Going low.>>

Hopefully whomever is nearby could catch the meaning, for as she nears the entrance of the cell she drops into a skid, firing her weapons at precision points towards the ankles (or knees) of the approaching STRIKE members.. and landing herself into the opposite cell for cover.
Steve Rogers Steve Rogers looks down from his vantage point up above. << Jeez. You crash just -one- plane in the Artic and never hear the end of it... >> he replies quietly into the comms as the Hydra forces are heading into the facility.

As May and John Garret are conversing, Steve crawls further forward along the beam, moving directly above the quinjet landed in the hangar below. A pair of STRIKE members have stayed behind with it, standing at the ramp in back.

As the sound of ICER fire starts to echo through the halls, the two men go into a ready stance, weapons up to sight down as they look about for signs of danger.

Danger drops in from above though. Steve drops onto the back of the plane, grabbing the tail and then swinging down to kick one of the men in the chest, launching him off of his feet and a dozen feet away.

The other STRIKE member turns, weapon tracking and already firing a line of rounds as it homes in on his black-clad assailant. Steve drops to the ground under the line of fire, and rolls down the ramp hitting the man's legs and grabbing him to pull him to the ground.

Meanwhile the agent who was kicked is getting back to his feet, weapon still hanging from its strap as he gets a handle on it again.
Peggy Carter The HYDRA team still has slight numbers on the SHIELD agents, so the moment Bobbi's going in after the pilot, there are two other STRIKE members running up that ramp and readying to open fire on her. One of them, as he goes, shoves something else injectable into his thigh and gives a growl into the air as his weapon comes up to open fire on her in the somewhat small space. They're trying to box her in before she can finish taking out the pilot.

Garrett's eyes go a little wider as he looks at May, but he's letting the team he's commanding start to work on taking her out first. It gives him time to grab another vial off his own tac belt and shove it's needle straight into the side of his neck. He needs a few seconds for it to kick in, but he feels like he's got plenty of time as four of his own souped up agents rush forwar, opening fire on May. "Boys, if the ICER's don't work, use all force necessary. The boss will understand we were just doing this to protect *SHIELD* from these *traitors*." He calls over his oen comms, barely hidden permission for his people to go lethal. And lethal they do.

When Hunter gives his position away AND Garrett gives the clearance to go lethal, the team down the corridor laughs and one of them pulls out a little grenade. It's small, but it's still a grenade. "Always wanted to blow this place up with some proper rats in it." The man hisses, and then the explosive device is being tossed straight towards Lance's hiding position. Fortunately, the team was not expecting opposite from another cell and they curse as knees and ankles are taken out. They're not unconscious, but that *hurts* and it means they're down on the ground. By the time they are shooting back, Sharon's in another cell.

Two of the team was only just coming out of that armored transport, so they are taken momentarily off guard as the expert focused shots from Bucky slam into the transport and something in the engine goes up with a rather epic bloom of fire. The men toss themselves away, partially carried by explosion, and there's return fire coming in the direction of where Bucky is in the rafters. <<Ground transport is out. Get half the team back to the Quinjet and ready to MOVE once we've cleared out the enemies.>>

Then there is Steve, swinging in to the QuinJet and the guards aboard. One of them might recognize something in his face because he curses loudly and suddenly switches out to a fair heavier weapon, aiming for Steve's head. He goes down when Steve moves for his legs, though, and comes up trying to punch and toss Steve over the ramp. <<They've got supersoldiers!>> The enemy agent gasps out over the comms. That's bringing another three STRIKE soldiers up the ramp to try and take out Captain America, the current biggest threat.

Meanwhile, Peggy's gotten the memo that ICERs aren't working. As much as she'd like to use lethal force, she's trying to be better than that. Seeing the two down that Lance surprised and Sharon took out their legs, Peggy swings into the hall and tosses a violent kick to one's temple before slamming her rifle straight into the other's face. There's a violent spray of a bloody nose as he collapses to the ground. The sound of more boots can be heard starting to rush down that hall. They've got far more company.
Bobbi Morse     Bobbi stands back up and notices the foam at the agents mouth. A quick check for a pulse confirms he's dead. <<They're chewing cyanide pills. Might be in a false tooth>> she warns, then frowns - she knew that guy. Two more agents are coming in at her though and she ducks behind a crate.

With bullets flying she considers her options.. super strong or super lethal? ...super lethal. Bobbi lifts up one of the panels on the quinjet floor and uses it as a shield against their bullets as she pulls out the big anti-aircraft plasma gun and turns it on them. Wompfh the weapon goes as the first with the gun loses an arm and instantly chews on a cyanide pill. The second drops his gun and starts running for it. Bobbi is feeling merciless and shoots out the ground beneath him, sending him flying like a ragdoll in to the wall.

Back to mission, she drops the plasma canon and goes to the cock pit. She pulls off a panel, then rips out the flight control circuits making it impossible to fly this quinjet without repairs.

<<If it makes you feel any better Cap, I've thrown a motorcycle at a man on stilts and I've crashed a quinjet in to another jet in an attempt to stop it taking off..>> she banters as she turns and rushes out of the quinjet as the fight starts to heat up. A stun grenade from the HYDRA agents jumps up in to the air and Bobbi quickly hits the deck before the shockwave takes her out. <<They've got jumping stun grenades>> she warns - of course they'd have the same gear as them, they've been pretending to be them for decades.

There's two HYDRA agents guarding the doors as they try to shut the hanger and stop any reinforcements.. but the hanger doors refuse to shut. Bobbi appears out of no where to them and draws her staves, "Hey there. You two took a wrong turn on your career paths."

But the pair begin to fight; one with a single baton and the other draws a knife. "Hail HYDRA!," one of them says making the other stare at him in bewilderment, "Really? She knows dude." Bobbi nods her head to them both, "I know."

Stave versus knife and second stave, she at first lets them take some ground, then starts to push them so only one can attack at a time, until she whacks one stave down at the first agents knee and there's a sickening crack. Bobbi stiffens a little - still not used to her strength, then she hooks an arm around the other agents stave and pushes her stave to his neck, presses the stun button and he squirms in her grip until he drops unconscious to the floor. The first agent's mouth starts to froth as he bites on his cyanide, "Goddamnit WHY?!?"
Melinda May Hopped up on the rage-induced adrenaline of the Ragestaff, May's already impressive reflexes are that much faster. And the advantage of the staff's emotional effect on her means she can't feel the response of the men that rush her. It gives her a focus she might otherwise lack. Focus and, remarkably enough, control. Because no one knows how to channel anger in a fight -- especially her anger over Bahrain -- like Melinda May.

The ICER rounds that hit her do nothing but piss her off more. While the STRIKE agents are switching to lethal, she spins towards them, staff whirling. She strikes precisely and mercilessly.

One man takes the end of her staff to his sturnum, the force of its impact sending him flying backward into a cell. The second finds his jaw shattered as May spins through the strike to the first to clock him squarely on the side of the face. Whether he intended it or not, his mouth foams and his body seizes as his cyanide tooth shatters.

The third man attempts to tackle May from behind. She reverses her direction, ramming him backwards into an outer cell wall before spinning around and slamming the staff against his head twice. Disoriented, he slumps, struggling to rise. Her staff comes down a third time. He goes down.

The fourth assailant fires a gun with lethal rounds at her. She lets out a shout of pain as the antiballistic properties of her tac suit stop the bullet, but still transfer the impact. Spinning yet again, she leaps forward with a snarl, staff unyeilding as she attacks.
Lance Hunter << This is the way >> Lance replies to Bucky, then it's all business from there. Waiting as the two men move in, "C'mon" he mutters getting to ready to fire when his backup sho-

Grenade

Hunter dives out of his cell the concussion of the blast felt against his back as he hits the ground and rolls hearing Sharon take her shots, boddies drop and more fighting besides he peers out in the hallway to see the Carters having handled things. "Thanks for the assist," he says before the pounding of approaching feet can be heard. "Those two have any more of those grenades?" he asks the pair, nodding at the unconcious guards. "Sounds like we're goin to need them." He crouches in his doorway ICER raised towards the sound of the coming footfalls.
Peggy Carter "Better to die with honor than serve peons like YOU!" One of the other HYDRA members hisses in Bobbi's direction as the woman exclaims confusion about the cyanide pills, but he's not quite ready to die yet and seems somehow more souped up that the others. He's moving just a bit faster and his pupils are slightly blown as he pushes himself quicker than most of her strikes and tries to get inside her guard to her throat. He'll strangle her to death if the ICERs aren't working and her staves are effective enough to disable his guns.

All Garrett really needed his team to do was to buy him time while the super soldier serum he just injected in himself took affect. Now, eyes blazing with that sort of rage that comes with the dose, he dashes forward without fear towards May and her rage staff. While she attacks that forth agent with her staff, he's barreling into her bodily like a mac truck, trying to kick her staff aside with a violence that could shatter bones while he dries her down into the ground. He's stronger than any man should be right now.
James Barnes Buck sounds more irritated than enraged as he mutters, "For crying out loud, these guys never change. It's always the same old song. You'd think they'd try changing the playbook since they haven't had any serious victories since Roosevelt was in the White House."

He's moving to assisst Steve, pistol in hand. His expression is fixed, mask-like, as he yanks one of the soldiers heading towards the ramp backwards by his collar, and hits him in the temple with his alloy hand. It's calculated to stun, rather than kill...and then he's hurling him at the others heading up the ramp, focused on Steve.
Sharon Carter Sharon rises after the grenades debris causes a ruckus and rushes out the cell again to deal with the two she put down. But seeing Peggy already in action... whatever she felt at that moment was pushed aside for the mission. "Carter." Sharon says with a grin, then turns in Lance's direction.

"No problem." She says, giving a nod to Peggy to allow her to do her thing, hearing the footsteps coming from one side of the hall that she couldn't see. The fallen members of the STRIKE team were soon raided of their remaining grenades, M4's taken, one offered up towards Lance as she keeps the other slung around her shoulder. Grenades were dispersed to, separating them into equal amounts so that they could have their explody-fun time too.

Back into the cell she goes, performing a quick check of the M4, keeping her back pressed against the wall in wait of Lance to lay down his fire first. She gives a nod, signaling her readiness. It's go time.
Steve Rogers The sound of the heavy caliber pistol going off at close range leaves Steve's ears ringing as he grapples with the STRIKE agent at the foot of the ramp. He gets the gun hand in a hold and then spins atop the other man, legs quickly finding his head and wrapping the man's throat.

Before he has time for the choke hold to do its job though, more men are converging on him. One goes down to Bucky, while another levels an assault rifle at the grappling black-clad hero. Steve flips the man he's fighting over atop him. High velocity rounds punch through the man's body armor. Steve grits his teeth and lunges to his feet, using the dead man's body as a shield as he charges the gunman, while the other turns back to fight Bucky.

The body is shoved into the man as Steve reaches him and a close quarters fight ensues. Punches rain back and forth, the skilled STRIKE agent landing a kidney punch that makes Steve grunt, the super soldier pivoting to deliver an elbow that crushes the man's nose.

Even as the STRIKE agent keels over, he pulls a stun stick and slams it into Steve's gut, venting enough electricity to black out a normal man. Cap reaches out even as he convulses, grabbing the man's throat and completing the circuit. The STRIKE agent doesn't handle the electric zap nearly as well, falling over backwards.

The man who Steve had first kicked has a gun out and aims it. The stun stick is grabbed out of the air as it is falling to the ground, Steve whirling and whipping it into the gunman's face. He crumples and falls to the ground, the stun stick pinging softly as it bounces off the concrete nearby.

The pilot looking behind him can see the writing on the wall. He pushes the throttle forward, a blast of air directed behind the plane and knocking the disguised Captain America away from the ramp as the quinjet starts to climb and move forward towards the open hangar doors. << I got the jet, >> Steve says into his comms as he climbs back to his feet and starts forward.
Bobbi Morse     "Honor, really soldierboi?," she says with a grimace on her face. And then he's coming at her. Fast. Super fast. She is dodging and blocking and taking blows the whole time because he's just that much faster than her. A stroke to the throat and she is gagging a touch.

She grabs him on the wrist and instantly lets go as she staggers from nausea. It tasted like Elena.. not quite the same, but similar. That speed.. it's Inhuman. She rasps in to the comms <<They've got that missing last stash of Whitehall's Super HYDRA agent serum!>>. The HYDRA agent smirks and says, "You're done Morse." The last time SHIELD faced off against this stuff was against the Agents of SuperSHIELD and the super powered HYDRA soldiers at Whitehall's island base.

He strikes her hard and she drops, then he he has his hands on her neck. Her vision is blurring and she lets loose, punching him in the sternum. His body shoots up in to the air and hits the ceiling and then he drops hitting the ground with a crunchy splat like noise. Bobbi rolls on to her side and coughs a few times. With shaking hands she reveals her heart rate monitor again and sees the spikes going up and down. She clenches and unclenches her left fist and hugs her upper arm with her right arm.

"Come on Morse, don't die remember..," she pushes fists to the floor and rises back up stubbornly. She gives her head a shake and then suddenly takes a solid round to the chest. So solid it knocks her stumbling back. Then another hits her and she stumbles back further. The tac armor she's wearing is the only thing saving her right now, but she can feel ribs cracking underneath. Her eyes focus on the HYDRA agent with the Very Big Gun in his hands shooting high calibre rounds at her and slowly advancing toward her. "You know I never liked you Morse. You and your kind, think you're so smart.. coming in to SHIELD level 5, skipping the hard work.. think you're ops. So arrogant." He thumps his chest and shoots Bobbi again and she stumbles back and falls on to her back, coughing up blood.

She finally sees the projectile alerts in her Falcon OS heads up display and glances at it to activate dodge mode. The purple of her wings glows bright as the man with the gun raises to shoot again. The wings pull her out of the way behind cover and the shot hits the ground.

Coughing up some more blood she sings badly in to the comms <<When Captain America steals a HYDRA jet... all those who chose to oppose his jet must yield... *coughcough* I'm gunna need some backup. I'm hurt real bad>> ..and in a few days she'll be right as rain, but now? not so much.
Melinda May May finds herself railroaded backward down the length of the room as Garrett careens into her. His strength is superior to her own, even suped up on the ragestaff as she is. The wind is knocked out of her as she slams into a cinderblock wall, fairly certain she felt one or two of her ribs crack. She throws her head forward, slamming her forehead into his nose, heedless of that pain. It's enough to stun him momentarily and jar his grip.

Sliding down and out from between him and the wall, she wrenches the staff around, trapping him between it and her body briefly as she uses one leg beside his body to shove off the wall and give her the momentum she needs to flip him backwards over her. The maneuver is only partially successful. His hands wrap around the staff. Rage floods through him, heightening his already heightened state. He lets out a roar worthy of the Hulk, yanking on the staff as he twists through the air. His feet plant and May's the one now soaring overhead. But she keeps hold of that staff enough to twist in mid air and catch his head with her legs. In short order, she's whirling around him like a dirvish. The staff spins away and she releases her hold on his shoulders. Her body flies through the air, too, leaving the man heaving in the middle of the room, turning toward her and pulling a heavy calibre gun.

ICERs, Lance will quickly find, are useless against the incoming HYDRA agents. The antiserum they took negates the dendrotoxin rounds. A well-placed grenade, however, may be of more effect. However, when lightning lights up the corridor, running over every metal surface toward the three agents in the corridor, it becomes evident that Morse's revelation is true: These guys are hopped up on stolen Inhuman powers. They're well armed, well armoured, and incoming like a pair of freightrains against Lance and the Carters.

The pilot in that quinjet Rogers attacked is out playing for time. His ascent is steep and fast. The man knows how to fly. Even May and Morse will have to concede that. The nearly sheer vertical makes continuing that fight a challenge -- but hardly impossible for a man like Rogers.

Whatever other agents may try to go after him are hampered by Bucky at his back. They've brought out the big guns, now. Heavy calibre things that were meant to keep the potential Inhumans they came to collect under control. And that fire power is now focussed on the Winter Soldier.
Lance Hunter It doesn't take long for Hunter to realize that ICER's aren't doing the job, the weapon is dropped and he takes the M4 offered by Sharon. "Thanks," he says, "Want to toss a grenade I'll lay down fire on what's left," he says making sure Peggy has grabbed some cover. Though when he gets a good look at what's coming. "Nevermind that, hit them with everything you've got. They have powers."
James Barnes There goes Steve in a plane. Again. That never goes well. Buck sighs like a teenager whose mom won't let him stay out late, and turns, just in time to realize that he's in the sights of heavy guns. He has no scruples at all about running like a rabbit to get out of the way of the first rounds....and then he's circling back, trying to get within their effective range, even as he's firing that pistol at the nearest of the gunners.
Sharon Carter Hearing the message relayed over the comms, Sharon looks up just in time to see the crackling through the hallway. "Shit." Is all she could say in response to Lance, already taking the few steps forward to disarm the grenades, giving them a good chuck into the oncoming onslaught of powered bastards. She was all business now, waiting for the blasts before she starts laying down fire.

Down on her knee, Sharon positions herself dead to the rights, leaned against the wall and laying down bursts of shots without even waiting for the big reveal or... her iminent death.
Steve Rogers Steve accelerates like a sports car heading up the ramp to the interstate. But the plane is already airborne, the thrust starting to shift from lifting it upwards, to thrusting it forwards.

The black-clad figure reaches the hangar doors as the jet is passing outside and starting to angle skyward. At a full sprint, Steve jumps ten feet up, bounding off the hangar door like a freerunner and launching himself higher towards the plane. He catches the wing just as the jets come on, sending the aircraft climbing into the sky, the super soldier dangling precariously.

<< Oh yeah. No problem, >> his voice can be heard over comms, voice nearly ironic as the plane is jetting up into the sky. << Soon as I get control, I'll jam their transmissions for you, >> he promises, making his way hand over hand along the back of the wing, while the plane rockets upwards, resulting in a hundred mile an hour wind trying to rip Steve's grip off the plane. In a matter of moments the plane is just a dot in the sky.
Bobbi Morse     "Agent Rumlow," she says of 'Crossbones' as she hears his voice. Of course he'd have the where with all to wait until she was distracted fighting several other HYDRA soldiers to take a shot at her. The dwarves feed in to his glasses - the real footage - and she watches him slowly advancing on her position with his heavy calibre gun pointed at the box she's hiding behind.

With a groan that gives away just how hurt she is she turns around and places her hands to the box. There's no way she can push this thing even with her super strength.. instead, her eyes glance up in to the wings menu and she lets the Falcon OS compute the trajectory.

She can't be the weapon, but this time she can contribute mass to the equation as the alien wings fire up to full power and thrust her forward toward Rumlow, box and all. She and the box hit him hard and the thrust drives the three of them in to one of the hanger walls. She hears the various kinds of crunch that comes with it, but doesn't have the oomf to get back up, instead, laying in that mess of box and body.

"For what it's worth," Morse coughs and pants talking to his lifeless corpse next to her, "I never liked you either Brock." Her eyes search over the battle field. HYDRA is dropping, but SHIELD is waning and she can't help.

<<Bucky, plasma canon on your 4.. I bet HYDRA would love to feel the burn>> the very same plasma canon Morse dropped and now wishes she hadn't. But her eyes are snapping to May v Garrett and she tries to push back up to help her, but flops back down with a groan. She mutters to herself, "I think.. my armor.. is all that's keeping me together."
Melinda May May does not pause, does not stop moving, even though pain is urging her to reconsider. She rolls, Garrett's shots ripping up the concrete inches behind her as she does. Catching her foot on a cell bar, she kicks out powerfully, her body sliding halfway across the room. The ragestaff settles in her hands again and she flips to her feet, planting one end of the thing on the floor before she pole vaults back across the room and slams both her feet heels first into his face. She lands in a pose worthy of Quake or Mockingbird, one hand splayed on the floor, the other arm swept behind her, holding the staff parallel to the ground.

"Morse?" she calls, even as Garrett is climbing back to his feet, eyes glowing with power. There's sweat standing out on his brow and the crackle of electricity up and down his arms. "Are you mobile? Still got that plasma cannon?" Because it would REALLY help right about now. And she doesn't care who weilds it -- Bobbi or Bucky or God Himself.

Electricity explodes out of Garrett's hands and May launches herself airborn with her staff once more, trying to stay out of the way of that arking light.

Further away, between Lance's grenades and the Carters' M4 fire, Garrett's Sparky minion goes down, his companion's speed unable to compensate under the hail of fire to protect him. Both agents are down and bleeding out in short order.
James Barnes Well, well, well. Isn't that a present? "I've got it," Bucky reports, as he holsters his pistol and dives after the plasma cannon. Steve's off into the wild blue yonder, and Buck will have to make do.

May is in need of a little backup, and he's turning it on Garrett without a moment's hesitation. No warning, no calling attention to himself - trying to take her opponent by surprise.
Sharon Carter "And the lights die down on broadway." Sharon mutters to herself, seeing the display of power end. She waits for half a tick before she's moving, following the path of her destruction to come upon the fallen agent, kneeling to check his reserves even as he coughs up a lung.

"I've been in Russia for -three- years and I come back to this crap." Sharon says to the quite possibly dying HYDRA agent. "This is all your fault." More grenades, ammo for the M4, and a sharpie? "A.. okay." Shoving the fallen man out of the way, she raises the M4 to her shoulder again, knees crouched as she follows the path of the hallway. If more were coming, she was ready to lay down fire to get to the main scene of the show.

<<13 en route.>>
Peggy Carter While Sharon's been handling the M4, Peggy's been doing what she can hand to hand. Fist into face, rifles to gut, trying to take out soldiers into unconsciousness before they can bite down on their cyanide pills and go out on their own terms. As she, Sharon, and Lance have taken pieces off the board, she's drug bodies back into cells, stripped them of weapons, and locked them up to handle later. It's the boring part of the job, but it needs done. When she's drug the last body down that way and secured the lock on the familiar prison cell, she dashes back out into the hall and scoops up one of their abandoned rifles, her's now out of ammo. If they'd use lethal rounds, she'll be willing to do the same. <<Right behind you, 13.>> Peggy calls over the comms, trying to get to where the rest of the action is as quickly as possible. <<I've got your back.>> And, of course, cover her granddaughter's six.
Melinda May "You never really did have it in you to win, Mel," Garrett says. His arms are spread wide. Electricity arcs back and forth between his hands, forking into a single stream that lashes out across room. The far wall blackens where the energy hits, cutting a swathe closer and closer to the middle and to May. "Oh, I know they call you the Cavalry an' all. But, really? That's always been a matter of too little, too late. Always was. Always will be. You really think I'm on the wrong side? You're the ones that have had to go to ground, tails tucked between your legs in case Mad Dog Talbot catches whiff of you."

He plants his feet and brings his fists together, doubling the power of the arc and aiming right at May as she hits the ground prone before him, trusting her team.

Because that's the big difference between HYDRA and SHIELD. Trust. Family. And May trusts hers.

"You're finished, Mel. You. Carter. Fury. All of you. You're all--" KKZZZAAAKKKT!

Blue fire envelops Garrett, who has time for a soft, anticlimactic "*erk!*" right before Bucky's plasma shot takes him right in center mass, burning through his armour, burning through his serum, burning through flesh and bone. His superheated body explodes in all directions, nothing more than blackened ash that whisps away in quickly fading blue fire.

May rises to her feet and looks down at the black smudge on the floor, the rage of the staff still in her eyes. Her expression is cold, merciless, and entirely satisfied. "You always did talk too much, John."
Bobbi Morse     Bobbi looks relieved to see Lance and accepts his offer to help her back up. She limps by his side with an arm around his shoulder. She would have died if not for the armor and her super soldier status. But then, they were up against SHIELDs best STRIKE force and undercover HYDRA agents to boot with added super powers mixed in. Super strength and speed and electricity.

"I knew they wouldn't go down easy... but damn that was satisfying," she says as she looks at the smoking smear across the floor that once was Garrett. "Commander my arse," she says and coughs up some more blood. Bobbi gives a nod of approval to Bucky, recovering super assassin; and then to May.

<<Agents, clean up. Sweep every room for stragglers hiding. Davis loop in the dwarves, search for strays>> she commands over the comms and smiles to Lance, "Get me back to our quinjet honey." He nods and replies, "You got it Bobs". With little more she can do here, she limps awkwardly with Lance's support back to the vehicle they arrived in.
James Barnes Buck contemplates the plasma cannon for a moment. There's that familiar little stitch between his brows. He doesn't look particularly enthused by it. "I think I saw the prototype of this tech back in Italy," he says, to no one in particular. Morse's nod is greeted by him proffering to her. "You want it?"

Then he's drawing his pistol again, prepared to go help with the clearing-out.
Sharon Carter Of all the things that Sharon missed, it was this. The vaporizing of the enemy and the use of a plasma cannon. There was a look of disappointment as she opens the clearing, lowering her newly found; recently fired M4 part way to look on at the stain that used to be Garrett. May and Bobbi get a nod, and a jealous glance was given to Bucky, he -actually- fired it! Geez!

The M4 was lowered completely as her brass-knuckled clad hand reaches up to rub at her brow, letting out a little hiss. "I got a lot of reading to do." She mutters, then glances back from where she emerged to see if Peggy was nearing.

It would be a little odd to shout out Grammy or Nonna, so she just.. kind of waits. And moves towards that area.. then stops again, then turns around to look towards the ceiling to see if any enemies were hiding in the rafters.
Peggy Carter Dashing out of the back just a little behind Sharon into the main room, Peggy is both pleased and a bit disappointed to see she's missed all the action out there. She looks her grand daughter up and down and flashes a small, breathless smile, "Nice work." She nods curtly to the agent. Then she looks to the others. "Got a few surviving prisoners in the cells back there that we can take in for more questioning but Hunter and 13 did a lot of damn good clean up work in the back." Peggy nods towards Sharon and Lance, a quietly proud smile on her slightly bloodied face as she looks over her grand daughter. "Back cells and hallways are clear. I don't think they got anyone beneath yet but we should do a scan when we're on the jet."

She then falls quiet as she stares across all the bodies. Any pride on her face falls away. She's spent a lot of time in this place, drug a lot of prisoners through here, but never before have there been nearly two dozen bodies littering the floor, white foam and blood at their mouths. Men she's served with before. The people she's been hunting this entire time. Peggy goes very quiet for a few heartbeats before muttering softly, "I'll stay back... coordinate the clean up from here, get the bodies to... a proper buriel, note for their families..." If they can ever come out of the shadows enough to tell them, "And the other prisoners locked up. You all get to medical." She stares at Bucky's eyes for a moment, concern creasing her brow, "Buck...Go with them. I've got it here. Promise." He doesn't need to see this any longer than he has to.
Melinda May Given she's still holding the ragestaff, it's really no wonder May is still furious. Her nostrils flare as she inhales a deep breath, pushing the rage down and away as Peggy begins to emotionally martyr herself again. The only blessing in this instance? The ragestaff, particularly when combined with that magical holdout dagger in her boot, suppresses her ability to feel the roiling emotions of those around her.

She turns on a heel and stalks off toward the quinjet they came in, looking for the case the staff came in so she can dismantle the damned thing and put it away. And, of course, that's why they let her use it... because she's actually willing to put it away afterward. Willing... and able.

But, damn. She's gonna smart from this one for DAAAAAAAYS. And in more ways than one.
