Roberto Da Costa Okay date take three. Date one involved escaping a party and then ending up passed out together. Date two had a guy ranting and shooting himself in the foot. So, Roberto was hoping for a better time on this run, or at least more conventional, date take one was pretty good actually. Where did they choose for this hopefully successful date? Rock Wallz, a climbing gym in the heart of Manhattan, Roberto had been to a time or two with Sam and some of the kids from school. Also it happened to be close to some good places to get a bite to eat after too, to make sure Steph got the full New York experience on her visit.

Looking up at the wall with his arm around Steph's waist, Roberto asks, "So, Spider-girl," he says using the nickname he'd given her after she showed him how good she was at climbing. "You ready to show me up?" he her with a grin.

The Brazillian youth came dressed to play in a Fluminense FC jersey (https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2073/1591/products/s-l1600_2_1f8b4b1d-352d-4711-a050-bd3f0ad1be00.jpg?v=1567091809) and a pair of matching Jordan 4's with red and green highlights (https://www.kicksonfire.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Air-Jordan-4-Black-Gorge-Green-Varsity-Red-681x433.jpg), combined with a pair of track pants, y'know standard issue rich kid gymwear. Of course, the St. Florian medal is on, but tucked under the shirt for now to keep it from being snagged on the handholds.
Stephanie Brown Stephanie wore a pair of athletic tights and a pullover sweatshirt. The latter is removed once they are in the rock climbing gym, revealing a black workout shirt that has a bit of see-through mesh over her upper chest but solid black in other places to cover her.

The idea of the rock climbing date had brought a laugh of delight over the phone from Stephanie. So if there were any worries she might not go for the idea, they were dispelled long before the pair actually arrived.

Stephanie puts her hair in a pony tail and looks over at Roberto in a considering way. Her eyes are bright and lively at the question about showing him up. "I don't know, Brazil. You going to bring your 'A' game?" she asks playfully, raising an eyebrow. "Spider-babes have to be careful being seen with people who are stuck on the floor," she says with a flash of blue eyes towards him.

She leans in against him and gives Roberto's cheek a little kiss. "Let's do this," she says with a grin.
Roberto Da Costa There's a sudden coughing fit from Roberto when the sweatshirt comes off. "Mae de dios," he says, hitting his chest a little like it was a real coughing fit and not just a reaction to Steph's outfit. "Careful with that thing, might cause people to fall of the wall." Him included.

He's been glad when she went for the date, he liked to keep things fun when it came to dating, you can only do so many dinners or movies, and well, he knew she liked to climb. Seemed a natural choice.

The challenge is met with a roll of his eyes and a laugh, "You bet Spider-babe, I always bring my A-game," he tells her.

The kiss is returned on Steph's cheek as well, "Let's," he says before giving Steph a little shove and sprinting for the wall. He knew she had him beat for skill so he was going to have to make up for it with cheating!
Stephanie Brown The pretend coughing fit draws a big smile from Stephanie, as if Roberto scored some points with the reaction. It's not like she looked at everything suitable for rock climbing in her closet before picking it. (Hint: yes she did.)

Stephanie goes over and gets some chalk on her hand, and straps into the harness to protect them if they fall. She grins over to Roberto at the kiss but that's the moment he takes off. "Hey!" she calls out with a laugh.

She takes off running after him, arriving at the wall later. There are a pair of guys who are carefully spying out handholds near the bottom, getting their feet set on two and then reaching up with great care. Stephanie just hits the wall with a foot like she did in Roberto's bedroom, vaulting up to grab ahold of a small outcrop before swinging a foot over to another spot that will hold her. "Cheater!" she laughs.
Roberto Da Costa "Sorry guys," Roberto says as he sprints between the two guys and throwing all safety regs out the window starts to free-climb without so much as getting a bit of chalk on his hands. Ignoring the shouts of the employees below, he glances back at Steph. "Sounds like something someone that's losing would say!" he calls down to her. "Besides what do you call that outfit!"

He laughs, and keeps climbing, by how quickly he moves it's clear he's not on Steph's level but he has done this before, likely a lot, he is conquering the hell out of the mid-range holds without a hint of concern about falling. Of course that happens when you can fly.
Stephanie Brown Stephanie is only barely keeping up. They only change the wall so often, so knowing where the handholds are is a huge help. Though she's climbing at a pretty great rate, both of them passing other people.

Stephanie glances down at the employs. "You're so getting busted. They're going to put you in the rock climbing penalty box or something," she says as she jumps up to grab a higher outcrop rather than climb to it.

"I figured you might like," she says of the outfit with a grin. FOr a moment she gets close enough to Roberto she can reach up and give his ass a little slap. Which leaves a chalk hand-print there.
Roberto Da Costa Roberto looks down at the employees. , "I'll use the get out of jail free card," meaning the credit card he's got in his wallet, the one his dad pays for.

"Nice move," Roberto says of the little jump, he tries something similar but only barely holds on, legs kicking before he manages to plant them and steady himself again. "Oh I definitely like," he says. "Feel like I'm cheating you though, like I should go find a tank top and some booty shorts," he teases, though he's got to say Steph's outfit has a lot more class than a tank top and booty shorts.

As for the girl in it...

"Hey!" he protests with a laugh when she swats his ass leaving a big white palm print on it. "Great, now my ass belongs to Saurman," he says, dropping the nerdy Lord of the Rings reference like it was no big deal. "So better take a good look before it's hauled off to Isengard!" he calls back as he begins to climb up higher.
Stephanie Brown Stephanie winces as Roberto nearly falls, and looks like she's going to try to catch him, which would pull her off the wall but she's got the safety harness on. But then he catches himself and she lets out a breath.

"You know, if you kill yourself on a date with me, your mother is going to be very cross and not like me," Stephanie says, as if that would be the worst thing about it. She does keep an eye on him though, and maybe doesn't push him just quite as much.

"Hey, who are you going to side with, the big evil lighthouse or a couple of midgets carrying a ring? Saruman is the safer bet," she tells him with a grin as they continue on up the wall. "So, was wondering," she asks as she climbs. "You feeling ok after the restaurant. The gun and all? I know that can be kind of... traumatic," she says.
Roberto Da Costa Roberto seems totally unfazed by the near fall, harness or no harness, the employees on the other hand are probably calling the cops.

"That would be a shame," he says with a nod about his mother's disapproval. "And the funeral would be super-awkward, plus, y'know be all Latin and Portugese."

"Right?" Roberto says about the Lord of the Rings thing, before finding a ledge and pulling himself up to sit, it's a nice day out and there's blue sky visible through the skylight above him. He holds out a hand to help her up.

"Hm? Yeah, just mad it interrupted our date. Glad the guy made it though," he'd checked on that, even wounds to the foot could kill. "You? Sorry I didn't ask, I totally should have. That was a big deal."
Stephanie Brown Stephanie takes Roberto's hand, accepting the help as she moves to sit beside him on the larger ledge that gives the nice view of the gym and out of the windows and skylight. "It's ok. We Gothamites are a pretty hardy breed," she says in a light-hearted tone. "But yeah, I'm ok. Just glad he made it. And, sorry it messed up such a great idea for a date. I was enjoying it," she tells the Brazilian young man.

Stephanie's legs swing a little forward and back as she looks down. "So I should probably start learning Portuguese at some point, if only to understand you when you swear," she comments, leaning over to give Roberto a very gentle shoulder bump.

She looks out at the sunny day outside. "Thanks for asking me out today," she says. "This was another good choice. Keep it up and I might end up spending the night sometime," she says humorously.
Roberto Da Costa It also gives them a good view of the pissed off employees. Roberto doesn't notice though and puts his arm around Steph. "Still should have asked you," he says. "So, this is me doing the sorry thing," he tells her. "I've seen a lot of stuff like that, and I guess, I'm not really fazed by it anymore, which sounds messed up, I know, but anyhow, I guess I forget everyone else isn't." He kisses her cheek. "Was a nice date to start with, we should go to that restaurant again once we give it a bit of time."

Roberto offers Steph a grin when she talks about learning Portugese, he says, "No better time to start than now," he says. "Posso te beijar?" he asks her looking over at her fully now.

As for the date, he smiles, "Well, keep wearing that outfit and I might let you." He teases back.
Stephanie Brown Stephanie leans over against Roberto more as his arm goes around her. "I'd be willing to give it another go. Never did get that buffalo chicken sandwich," she comments. By the time the police and everything played out, it ended up being takeout from Big Belly Burger on the way back to drop Steph off before her mom got home.

"Posso.. te... beijar," she repeats slowly, looking to Roberto to see if she got the pronunciation right. "Ok, what's it mean?" she asks him.

The blond gets a grin about her outfit. "Oh, this old thing? Is it it really that nice?" she says. "Damn straight it is, but I want to sound humble, you see," she adds with a soft grin to the man.
Roberto Da Costa "Next time then," Roberto says about lunch. "Never did get to try that wrap either." And yeah, Big Belly Burger wasn't what he really had in mind for that afternoon.

When Steph repeats back what he said, he smiles, replying "Certamente vocĂȘ pode," he says before leaning in to give her a slow sweet, kiss on the lips.

When their lips part, he grins, "Well no need to be, you look great," he says, giving the outfit a look. Smiling knowing she picked it out for him. "So, feel like more climbing?"
Stephanie Brown Stephanie enjoys the kiss, sighing and touching Roberto's face as she kisses him back. Afterwards she looks at him and gives a soft laugh. "Sorry," she says, and uses the back of her hand to wipe the chalk from face, though she's grinning as she does it.

"You bet," she says as she looks up on up the simulated cliff. "Though I'd feel better if you had a safety harness," she says. Which if her friends heard her saying they'd probably just start laughing hard. Stephanie. Telling someone else to be safe about heights?

She glances down. "What do you say, go down and get you hooked up? I just found you. I'm not ready to lose you quite yet. Already seen a gun pointed at you. I think that's enough risk for... the rest of your life," she tells him.
Roberto Da Costa Berto's nose scrunches at the chalk on his face, but he wipes some off with a finger and dabs it on Steph's nose before she wipes his face clean.

Looking down the cliff, Roberto feels the temptation to jump, to own his abilities and show off a little but responsibility holds him back. If he's public with his powers, then that could lead back to the school. "Sure," he says, smiling faintly at him being responsible about, well, anything. "Let's go down, I'll apologize to the staff and get hooked up."

As for their last date being enough danger for a lifetime, Roberto chuckles, "True," if only she knew. "C'mon, let's go be safe," he says heading down to the floor. Once there it takes a bit but he manages to talk the staff into not kicking him out, before coming back with his harness. "Little help?" he asks Steph.
Stephanie Brown Stephanie smiles as he relents. "Just keep racking up those points," she tells him warmly before he heads down. When he returns, she gives him a hand to help him up onto the ledge before she rises as well.

The blond girl glances upwards. "Never really climbed a cliff before," she says. "Seems like it would be fun." Also she assumes it's easier than a building. While they have lots of ledges and things, there are too many stretches without many good hand and footholds.

She turns back to him to smile. "So by the way, how are things going for your friends? The one with the girlfriend and all?" she asks as she starts to climb up. If Roberto lets her go first, he has the benefit of seeing those tights from below.
Roberto Da Costa Roberto snorts, "You know me always play by the rules," he jokes. "Well not really but I am sure you figured that out."

"Only did these kinds of cliffs," Roberto says with a look at the wall as he gets his harness on and one of the staff double checks it's on properly. "But if you want to try the real deal sometime I'm game. Or-" he waits until the staff member wanders off, "If you want me to come along on your urban climbing thing, I'm game too." If only /he/ knew what all that entailed.

"Good question, haven't seen Sam around much, so I assume things are going well," he says with a grin. "Should check in on him though. Now that you mention it, see how he's spending my money." He grins at that and /definitely/ lets Steph go first.
Stephanie Brown "I much prefer elevators, then stairs," she says of her urban picture-taking from high altitude places. Indeed, she can't hand-throw a grapple high enough for the big buildings. She's really looking forward to having one of the grapples that Batman's entourage use now that she's being taken under Batgirl's wing.

"Maybe we could all get together sometime?" Stephanie suggests. "If it's ok for his girl to be out and about? Hopefully it's not so bad she can't?" she asks, pausing on the cliff to look down at Roberto below her.

The blonde's eyes narrow suspiciously. "Robert da Costa, are you looking at where you're going, or at my ass?" she asks him, pretending to be mad. She reaches up for another hand hold, then stretches nearly do the splits to get her foot over to another spot easier for her to climb up from. Roberto being taller he won't have nearly as much trouble with that spot.
Roberto Da Costa "Oh so you cheat, huh?" Roberto says of her urban explorations. "I am disappointed in you Spider-Gal," he says. "I had this image of you climbing up the outside of buildings all cool and stuff, meanwhile you're on the inside riding up the elevator listening to 'Girl from Ipanema'" he says shaking his head. "My heart is shattered."

He starts up the wall moving easily even with the harness. "And sure we can double date if it's safe, I just don't want you to end up involved in her family's bullshit. Anyhow, there's a good spot for pizza up by the school, sort of fancy-adjacent, could be fun for a double date and pretty safe."

"Totally your ass, but that's the idea right?" Roberto says shamelessly, pausing to watch her do those splits as she climbs. He follows a few seconds later asking, "So, figured out school for next year?"
Stephanie Brown Stephanie Brown starts wiggling her shoulders and humming 'Girl from Ipanema'. She looks over to him. "What, it's a catchy tune? You know how hard it is to listen to music on the side of a skyscraper?" she asks him. Honestly the fun is getting down from the buildings, but she doesn't mention that part.

Stephanie studies where she's going for a second before scurrying up a few more feet easily. "Oh, I'll probably apply to both Gotham U and to this community college near me. Probably will come down to the financials. Mom says she'll put me through, but I know she can't afford it, so... we'll see," she says.

Stephanie pulls herself up higher. "So speaking of school, what's yours like? I'm picturing it being all Dead Poet's Society. You and Sam and other friends marching around in a courtyard or standing on your desks. Running across big mist covered fields with someone playing a bagpipe somewhere. And not wincing when you accidentally touch the bottom of the desk and find a couple years worth of chewing gum there," she says, injecting a bit of her own public school experience at the end there.
Roberto Da Costa Roberto laughs as Stephanie hums as she climbs, "I'll take your word for it," he says about listening to music on the outside of buildings. "I'll admit most of my own experiences have been on the inside."

"It's a good school though, if you can do it, it'll be worth it in the long run," he says before considering something. "Come have dinner with me and my mom sometime, she might be able to help you, she's on staff and the dean of students is friend of her family, so," he shrugs. All those rich people connections. "Might be able to help get you some scholarships or grants to make up the difference."

"My school. Pretty much like that, but no bagpipes or standing on desks, sadly. It's a really big school, with not many students, so it can feel really quiet, but at the same time? It's nice having a bit of space, my room there is for two people but I'm the only one in it, so I get the place to myself."
Stephanie Brown Stephanie nears the top, climbing off to the side and holding her place there while Roberto comes up even with her. "Hrm, I'm still just worried what she'd think about me dating her son," Stephanie says with a wince. "You said she kind of got upset about Tinsley after her dad called?"

She sighs and gives a shrug. "Sure. I mean, I want to meet her. We don't have to make it about that though. I'd rather it be about just meeting her," she says, and her expression looking a little self-conscious.

"Space is good. Especially if you're a place like that, yeah," she says. She starts climbing again, reaching the top and pulling herself over it. "Oh Captain my Captain," she says, grinning and then reaching down to help Roberto.
Roberto Da Costa Roberto climbs up towards Steph, actually focusing on the hand holds this time as he nears the top. "She was mad because I ditched her, she wasn't mad I was with you, I didn't mention that part. Just that I saw you on my birthday and you gave me the necklace. She thought that part was sweet." He takes a moment to smile up at her as he relays that part.

"And didn't think we'd jump into that directly, more like if you made a good impression, that'd be something that could happen," he says. "Rather it just be about you two meeting as well. If you're up for it sometime.'

He takes the hand and pulls himself up to join Steph at her level. He snorts. "Very good, I mean I'd room with Sam, but we tried that, good buddies, horrible roommates."
Stephanie Brown Stephanie looks a little relieved that she isn't linked to the other incident in the mind of Roberto's mother. She helps pull him up, not that he really needs the help. But it's an excuse to move near to him up there at the top of the cliff.

"I have no idea how I'd do with a roommate. Only child so I'm not sure how well I'd handle someone else in my space like that all of the time," she says thoughtfully. "Probably would do me good. Character-building, you know," she says with a soft grin.

Stephanie rests her hands on Roberto's hips. "So you and Sam sound like you're kind of opposites. How did you end up getting so close?" she asks.
Roberto Da Costa Roberto /definitely/ didn't want Steph's name anywhere near that little incident, so he'd taken pains to see that it wasn't. Better for everyone that way. He takes the offered hand with a smile joining Steph at the top of the wall and looking back down. "Not bad. Definitely could use some 'Girl from Ipanema' though," he says of the climb up.

"Only child too, know what you mean, and yeah, need my space, I get anxious if there's someone up in my face all the time. Even if it's my bestie."

Roberto grins, "Time and shared circumstances," was the best he could do. "We're on some of the same teams and things, and we just sort of found common ground, movies, TV shows stuff like that." He grins fondly of his best bud. "How about you? Who are your friends and when do I meet them?" he says before he asks, "Unless, I'm your shameful Latin secret!" he says with as much telenovela drama as he could manage at the top of the wall.
Stephanie Brown Stephanie pauses at the question. "Ah..." she says slowly. "Well, there's this guy Tim who I've known for awhile. Sort of dated, but we ended up just friends. He's already in college, not that we went to the same school. And, well, there's a couple of girls at school I eat with," she says, eyes searching about a bit.

"I really don't have too many close friends, to be honest," she tells Roberto. "Not that I was in line to win Miss Popularity, but, a lot of people just kind of distanced themselves from me when I was... you know. With child. And I guess I never really sought them out afterwards after they'd pulled away," she says.

She lets out a breath, blowing a strand of hair away from her face. "I'm not exactly painting a great picture of myself, I know. I'd really love to show you off, though. You're one of the better things I've had happen to me, Roberto."
Roberto Da Costa Berto nods, "Right I think you mentioned him, but not by name, Tim huh?" he says. "Good guy?"

As to the rest, he nods, "I get it, preggers in school and nobody wants to let that go," he says. "Seen similar, but hey you've got me and feel free to show me off to whoever you like, and you're totally welcome to come hang with my friends. They're a little odd sometimes, but they're good people."
Stephanie Brown Stephanie is quick to nod. "Yeah. He's a really good guy actually. The best. He actually stuck with me through that whole thing. Was my Lamaze coach even. Which... whoever come up with this whole, don't take the drugs thing? Was a moron. Just between us," she says with a lopsided grin.

"I have a friend or two who are older who I've met along the way. Just, not really as close, with the age differences." And having the leader of the family tell Stephanie she should hang up her costume. A little dampener on the group activities.

Stephanie looks out at the gym from up on the top where they are perched. "I'd like to meet Sam. And your friends. A little odd describes just about everything in my life I think, so we're a set," she says with a soft laugh. "Seriously though, I'm just a normal girl. For the most part and... ah... thanks for not letting me scare you away," she says, her tone a bit goofy at the final part.
Roberto Da Costa "Really, dude went with you to Lameze? Wow. Was that when you guys were dating?" he asks her, curious now about the dynamics. He snorts. "I bet, and is one of many reasons I am glad I was born a dude," he says with a grin. He chews his lip thinking about something before he opens his mouth, I know, it's strange but this stuff is serious. "So, um you don't have to answer, but, do you get to see your kid at all? Or is it just-" he finds himself chickening out. "Never mind you probably don't want to talk about this stuff."

He nods about having a few older friends and then shrugs. "You're cool. Steph, I'm just lucky that I see it and others don't," he tells her with a smile.
Barbara Gordon Okay it isn't like Stephanie specifically is bugged or lowjacked. Okay maybe she is. I mean her phone is definitely compromised and Babs does keep track of her, or more specially ORACLE does to make sure people can respond if there are emergencies.

She isn't being super creepy and listening in or watching people 24/7, or having the AI do it for her though. That would be too much, this is much more just geotagging.

Seeing her mentee at the gym though is a good thing, especially in their line of work, so Barbara heads to the gym and gets changed and suited up. Top of the rockwall huh, well that is a pretty good workout. Babs throws herself into it, going for the hardest color because Bruce never trained any slackers or quiters.

Eventually she pulls herself up over the lip onto the top of the wall coming into view there. With excellent timing based on the tempo of the conversation too.
Stephanie Brown Stephanie cross her arms and nods. "Yeah, he did. And, not really as much then as later on. But, really says what kind of guy he is and all, doesn't it?" Stephanie agrees about Tim Drake having been her Lamaze coach.

The blond girl gives a little shake of her head then at the question. "No, I gave the baby up for adoption. I don't know any details. I think sometimes, but... I mean I was 15. My parents... not the best environment for me let alone for a teen with a baby. It was the right thing. But sometimes it's tough, thinking about it all."

She starts to get a soft grin at the comment about her being cool. "Oh, I don't know about that," she says, digging a toe at the ground, or platform on which they stand. One which a redhead climbs onto from the rock wall. "Oh my god. Barbara!?" Stephanie says as she recognizes who it is. She goes over to offer Barbara a hand to help pull her that last little bit over the ledge. Not that she'd need it, but it's the least she can do.
Roberto Da Costa "Definitely," Roberto agrees about the whole Lamaze thing and the sort of guy this Tim is.

Nodding Roberto puts a hand on Steph's shoulder, "Nah, kids shouldn't be raising kids, you did the right thing, anyhow, forgive me for bringing it up? Not exactly 3rd date, or first date, part c, sort of question."

He offers a hug, then blinks as Barbara appears. He moves to help her up too. "You're not going to shoot yourself in the foot are you?" he asks the woman. What? They've got something of a record when it comes to mid-date surprises.
Barbara Gordon Babs accepts the hand up from Stephanie, I mean even if she is mad at being interrupted evidently with a boy, well she still isn't likely to drop the former paralyzed lady off a rockwall right.

Still once she is up on the top with the two of them she nods to Stephanie "Hey there, thought I would swing by and see the workout." of course she glances at that point to Roberto. "Not going to no, I really don't like guns which causes some arguements sometimes around the holidays." she mms hesitating. "Though I did hear about the incident around that and it did sound a bit worrisome." maybe that is why she is here.

"Am I interrupting?"
Stephanie Brown Stephanie accepted the hug from Roberto, already telling him it was ok. "You've already heard the worst about me and not run away screaming so-" she'd said before spotting Barbara at the top of the wall.

Now the redhead is up on top joining them. Stephanie's gaping just a bit. "No," she says to Barbara interrupting. "I mean, well, yes. But, no. That is... let me introduce you," she says, turning towards Roberto. "Roberto, this is Barbara Gordon. She's been, well, better to me than I deserve," Stephanie says, though obvious there are quite a few years separating the two.

Stephanie turns back to Barbara. "And this is Roberto. His mom's a professor at Gotham U. We met while I was touring campus and getting info about maybe attending next year." She runs a hand through her hair. "So you heard about that? Yeah, we were out to eat at a restaurant across the skybridge and... well, guy just kind of lost it. Was afraid he was going to fall off if not shoot himself."
Roberto Da Costa Roberto smiles when he's introduced reaching past Steph on the top of the wall to offer Babs his hand to shake. "Good to meet you," he says. "How do you know Steph?"

As for the foot incident. "Heard about that, yeah, like Steph said, it was tense," he says, trying to play the part of someone not part of the hero game. "And no, we were just chatting about Steph's friends and wanting to meet one, so, here you are." He looks to Steph, "Maybe we should all talk about pizza next, maybe we'll get one of those too," he teases.
Barbara Gordon "Well hopefully my timing isn't too strange and ominous then...." she trails off shaking Berto's hand and then looking past her to Stephanie. "Yeah I stay pretty up on the news as you know." amusement in her eyes. She moves away from the edge to settle to sit on top of the wall.

"Pretty sure we would need to either order one in or go to a parlor for that unfortunately.. I mean you are tempting fate what with the taunting off coincidences and you would probably end up with some pizza themed criminal like a knock off Condiment King.... this is Gotham after all."

She looks to Stephanie "You should definitely enroll at Gotham U though." she is letting Stephanie hang in the wind on telling Roberto how they know each other. It is a test.
Stephanie Brown Stephanie gives a quiet laugh about talking about pizza. "Probably not unless we're going to talk about it into a phone connected to the pizza parlor. Not sure how well the delivery guy would handle the wall though," she says of the little mock cliff they are standing at the top of.

The blond girl looks back to Barbara and nods. "Barbara's the one to turn to when you want to know what's going on," she says with a soft smile. She looks back to Roberto to say, "We were both seeing the same Doctor. I had a bad sprain, saw that doctor from Thompkin's Clinic. Barbara was there and we struck up a conversation." It's mostly true. Except the treatment was happening in the Batcave, and the sprained ankle was from jumping off of one of Riddler's traps.

Stephanie smiles back over to Barbara as she tells Roberto, "She's also got her own company and... well yeah, like that. Always giving me an encouraging word or help when I need it." The smile that Stephanie gives Barbara is a big one.
Roberto Da Costa Roberto sits on the top of the wall, feet dangling down "Fair point, wouldn't know what to do if we had to deal with that," he says about the prospect of a pizza themed villain rushing into the place. Or any villain, because Roberto is definitely not a superhero... nope!

He nods at Steph's story about how the two met. "Friendship at first sprain then? Nice. Crazy where you meet people," he says. "And yeah? A company? What's it called? My dad owns da Costa International, maybe you've worked with them?"
Barbara Gordon "Personaly I am surprised Gotham hasn't seen more food themed villains. This place is so strange and if I didn't grow up here I would probably live in Metropolis." not entirely true, though she does have operations there as well as New York.

"Friendship at first sprain, though I was dealing with recovering from being paralyzed. Physical therapy checkup and the like." because a former paralyzed girl can't be a superhero and all. Good to make sure people remember she is lucky to be able to beupright and working out in a gym. "Oh I've heard of them. Your dad's company. Mine is a niche green energy firm. Greenway Energy." it may ne niche but it is very valuable. "These days I am on the board not as involved in the day to day business." which she learned from Bruce too.
Stephanie Brown "Yeah, but how cool is that?" Stephanie says of Barbara's company. "And she built the whole thing up too," the girl adds, bragging for Barbara if she doesn't do it herself.

Stephanie smiles over to Roberto softly. "Roberto's being groomed to follow in his father's footsteps. Though what the corporate world gains, is the volunteer firemen's loss," she says, the smile growing brighter.

"But we've had enough surprises. This is either our second or third date depending on who is counting," Stephanie says, casting an accusing look at Roberto as if for the difference in count. "And we don't seem to manage to avoid trouble so far. Not that you're trouble, Barbara. The opposite of it!" she says. "And how cool that he took me rock climbing for a date, right?"
Roberto Da Costa "Metropolis is nice, but too clean if you ask me. I like a city with a bit of dirt under its nails, but then I'm from Rio, so. It sort of figures doesn't it?" Roberto says to Babs. "However, Steph's showing me Gotham, it's a nice place, in the right parts of town."

"Greenway Energy? Huh, I'll remember that, probably haven't done business with my dad then, he's sort of a dinosaur when it comes to the energy game," he nods to Steph. "Something for me to work on when I'm in charge."

"And wow, paralyzed? Congrats on the recovery," he says impressed. After all she got up here. "Can't imagine that was easy."

As for Steph's gushing as to his choice of date location, he doesn't remark but he grins.
Barbara Gordon "It was ridiculously hard, thankfully the scientists and doctors at Wayne Medical were able to make some significant breakthroughs." she sighs at the thought of all of that. "When I was nineteen the Joker showed up at my apartment and shot me to try to hurt my father. Got me right in the spine and left me paralyzed. It was a lot to recover from on a lot of levels."

Then she smiles and shrugs a little "But I am doing amazing these days and well like I said if I didn't grow up here I would probably work out of my companies New York or Metropolis offices. Still despite everything my family is here and family is really important."

She hand getures. "So third date, that is pretty serious then." yeah she is teasing Stephanie.
Stephanie Brown Stephanie gives Roberto a bit of a smile. Her preference is definitely for Gotham, but then she also doesn't really have too many other experiences outside of the city. "A lot of work and rehab," Stephanie says, as if she got to be around a little of it. It was how she said they met, after all.

After a moment, Stephanie adds in explanation for Roberto, "Barbara's father is the police commissioner in Gotham. Kind of a high profile position in these parts." Stephanie looks over giving Barbara a soft smile for what her father does. It's the exact opposite of Stephanie's own father after all.

The blond's eyes widen a little bit at Barbara's comment. Definitely put on the spot! "Oh, ah, well, it's at least off to a nice start," Stephanie says as if not wanting to put Roberto on the spot as well. "I keep telling him the truth but it doesn't seem to scare him off. At this rate I may have to keep him."
Roberto Da Costa "Jesus," Roberto breathes when Babs mentions being shot by the Joker, looking Babs with even more awe than he did before for just the recovery. "Who's your dad?" had to be important to rate getting his daughter shot by the Joker of all people. Then Steph fills in the blank. "Yeah, that'd do it. Sorry you got caught in the crossfire Barbara, must have been scary." That was from the heart and not part of the 'I'm not a superhero' act.

The third date comment gets a warm laugh from Roberto and he kisses Steph's cheek. "Definitely a nice start" he agrees with Steph. "And trust me, you're not that scary, now Tinsley, /she's/ scary."
Barbara Gordon "It was scary as fuck." Babs notes seriously and well it is fromt the heart too. Makes one want to wear armor weave long underwear really after that experience.

She leans back planting her hands behind her as she sits on the wall with them listening to the relationship talk with some amusement. "Well good for you two." she notes afterwards. Not teasing that time. Then she tilts her head. "Tinsley?"
Stephanie Brown The kiss to Stephanie's cheek draws a great bit smile from the high school senior. She gives Roberto a little shoulder bump as she shines that look at him. Eventually she nods and looks back to Barbara to answer, "A girl at my school. She's on the gymnastics team with me. Kind of queen beech of the school," she says, intentionally mispronouncing the one word.

Stephanie elaborates, "After Roberto and I first met, his mother, who is friends with Tinsley's parents, got him to take her out, and we ran into each other that night." Stephanie sighs. "It was on his birthday too. And she is... well, I'll just say that I couldn't decide if her eyes were full of hearts or dollar signs. Probably, hearts with dollar signs on them."
