Profile
An up-and-coming thug in the criminal underground of New York City, and a mutant supremacist on the side. The perfect new recruit for mutant terrorism.
Timeline
Timeline:
* 2004: Born to Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Moriarti of L'Anse, MI
* 2011: Age 7: Parents murdered by anti-mutant radicals, mutant abilities activate by instinct to defend himself & injure his attackers.
* 2012: Age 8: Left near-mute & dramatically traumatized by his parent's murder, he is placed into a mental health hospital to receive counseling.
* 2014: Age 10: Placed into the foster system after several years of counseling / therapy.
* 2020: Age 16: Spent the next six years bouncing through the foster system in the Midwest. Generally getting placed in a new foster home after the old one burns down from fire. Initially a subconscious response to bigotry, becomes aware that he is a mutant by age 15 and becomes a deliberate act in response to anti-mutant hate & bigotry that's on the rise.
* 2020: Age 16: Destruction of Genosha, hardening of personal anti-human sentiment
* 2022: Age 18: Graduates from high school with passable grades. Spent more time learning how to track & hunt than in class, with it being the Midwest & all. And how to kill, with both firearm & mutant ability.
* 2023: Age 19: Heads to NYC with funds from a trust left by his parents, drawn by stories from Mutant Town after the destruction of Genosha.
* 2024: Age 20: Works his way through NYC's criminal underworld as a hired grunt / henchman type, keeping his mutant abilities a secret but gaining notoriety from his streaks of cruelty & viciousness.

Personality
Charismatic:
For all his psychosis, Benjamin can be quite the charismatic type when he wishes to be. Silver-tongue white man and all that. Sort of like the fanatical preacher at the front of the sheep.
Distrustful:
Not exactly all out distrustful as inheritly wary of new people. Watching your parents being gunned down and then left alone to deal with it leaves scars on a young man's psyche, scars that aren't healed with a few years of counselling.
Leadership:
With his silver-forked tongue, Benjamin is an excellent leader, once he can whip his followers into a frenzy.
Loyal:
And Benjamin is loyal to his followers. You mess with one of them, and he'll come down from on high with all his fiery ferocity.
Megalomania:
And just a little bit of Nihilism! Benjamin's desire to crush Homo Sapien under his boot is a driving force in his life. Mankind must pay for their ignorance, and their gall to try to stop those that are far superior to them. Hence his desire to become a mercenary and a terrorist. He wants the cold war of hatred to rage into a hot war, burning with all the rage and hate that burns in his soul.
Quiet-Type:
While he is one to go out and bust the head of someone that was badmouthing his friends, Benjamin is one to keep his problems to himself, for the most part. The 'strong, silent type'.
Short-Tempered:
His temper is short, and he is quick to move to violence, even if the situation does not call for it. You piss him off, and he'll flip out on you like a madman.
Superiority Complex:
He considers himself better then humans. He -is- better then humans, in his mind. He is ruthless and cruel, cold-hearted for a person of his fiery nature.

Powers
Pyrokinesis:
As a mutant, Benjamin is a pyrokinetic, with the ability to generate and control flames without any outside assistance.
* Fire Creation:
Benjamin is able to create flames with a mere thought. He can use this ability to ignore flammable objects, or he can focus and generate fireballs or streams of fire; like the Human Torch. These fires are subject to all the normal rules for flame to continue to exist, requiring fuel and oxygen to survive, and are just as susceptible to water or other extinguishing factors as normal flame. These fires can burn up to a temperature of 3,000 Fahrenheit, and if he was to generate a stream of flames he would be able to continue producing fire for up to fifteen minutes. Past that time he'll start to tire and lose control of the output.
* Fire Control:
Benjamin is able to exert a certain amount of control over existing flames, self-generated or from another source. He can influence the course or direction of the flame beyond 'point and shoot', creating arcs and the like. Once flame as been created, he can also influence its form; he could flow the fire into a solid wall of flames, or he could part it like the red sea. As he is immune to heat's effects, he could form a skin of fire over his arms, or flaming claws over his hands, to increase melee damage, for example. These affects are also subject to the fifteen minute limit; beyond that timeframe, he loses conscious control and the flames burn as they normally would. He also has a measure of subconscious control outside of that timeframe, but it extends to defensive purposes; all those years of "fire = hot = burn" allows him to push or deflect flames on instinct.
* Immunity:
As a pyrokinetic, Benjamin is lucky enough to be immune to fire, or more aptly the effects of heat. He does not burn when exposed to flames at "normal" temperatures, up to 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit, his own highest burn point. As an example, he'd be able to charge into a burning building without suffering burns, but he would not be able to dunk his hand into a smelting forge without serious injury. This only applies to Benjamin himself; his clothing is unaffected, and he cannot bestow this immunity on others. This also does not apply to other burn agents such as hard radiation.
Skills
Hunting & Tracking:
Benjamin grew up in the Midwest, right in the thick of militia country. His various foster families were heavy into the art of hunting game. He is skilled at tracking game, picking up the signs in the forest and such.
Knife-Throwing:
Benjamin, having grown up in the thick of redneck and militia-land, was trained in many ways to skin a cat, or rather, kill one. One of those ways being the art of knife-throwing. He is an excellent throw, having a range at about 10-15 yards. He can hit a bullseye at 13 yards, with the proper blade.
Marksmanship:
Benjamin is also a crack shot. He can shoot out a heart at 75 yards, on the draw. He was trained by the finest military nuts in the midwest. He is a crack shot, able to take out a jogging man at 700 yards (with assistance of a highpowered rifle and scope). They also trained Benjamin in the usage of several forms of firearms, and also very proficient with his weaponry. He can fieldstrip a pistol in moments, and dissemble rifles in a little more then a minute. Reassembling is another matter, taking anywhere up to five minutes. Reloading is second nature, and he always carries an extra clip for his pistol.
Martial Arts:
Benjamin was also trained in martial arts, proficient at a black belt level. He has the knowledge, although his size tends to be a disadvantage in speed. He is able, through using his size as an advantage, to take on at most four men at once, but once they start ganging up on him, he'll have trouble.
Resources
Trust Fund:
Benjamin still has a decently-sized main trust fund, as well as several smaller accounts, left to him by his parents. Being that he's moved to NYC, it's enough to keep him in a place that's not a complete shithole. This is of course supplemented by what he earns as a hired thug.
Weaponry:
Being a budding career criminal and gun nut, Benjamin owns several pieces of weaponry. Some legal, some illegal.
* Throwing Knives:
Stainless steel, perfectly balanced for precision throwing. A dozen (12) of these are on Benjamin's person at all times, hidden.
* 9mm Beretta:
The standard 9mm beretta semi-automatic pistol. Benjamin has it fully and legally registered, along with being able to carry the weapon concealed. He has it on his person at all times, along with a flash suppressor/silencer.
* Walther 7.62mm Sniper Rifle:
A state of the art Walther Sniper Rifle, for deer hunting. Really. Loaded with hollow point bullets. Equipped with a flash supressor/silencer, night vision scope, and a hair trigger. Benjamin prefers to use it without a tripod for balance, and to get that personal feel to the shot. This weapon is highly illegal.
Weaknesses
Aquaphobia:
Being a pyrokinetic, Benjamin has a natural fear of water. Like it was ingrained into his genetics alongside the x-gene. He can handle a bath or a shower, as long as it is a quick one. However he'll go out of his way to avoid any sort of boating or swimming activities, or even go out on a rainy day.
Control Issues:
Anyone with a similar gift of control over flames can try to wrest control of Benjamin's flames from him; just as he could try to do the same to them, if he focused. Such an attempt would turn into a battle of wills to see who is the stronger with their abilities.
Ego:
Like most budding mutant supremacists and/or career criminals, Benjamin has a bit of an ego on him. So he can be easily goaded into a fight if there isn't someone trusted around to keep him level-headed. Even if the odds are stacked against him, Benjamin will dive right in.
Morality:
Benjamin watched his parents die. That hurt. So as it is now, he'll go completely psychotic in a fight, but he will do everything in his power to keep from harming a family. Even if the family is the strictest mutant-haters around, he will threaten them, cuff them around -maybe-, but he won't kill them. He doesn't want to force another kid to go through what he did. For now, anyway.
Temper:
Benjamin has a slightly short temper. If an individual continues to heckle or annoy him, Benjamin will slowly begin to exhibit traits of his fiery nature. He begins to lose control of his abilities. Fires burst up around him, or even on him. Eventually, he might even try to harm the annoyance.
Weakness To Water:
Because his mutant abilities are fire in nature, Benjamin has a weakness towards water. Not a weakness where he cannot touch it, ever, but a weakness where it will render him unable to ignite any flames. Immerse him in water, and Benjamin will not be able to form a skin of flames, or a fireball. If he is wet, any uses of his fire ability on his person will be doused, like trying to burn a wet log. This also goes for heavy humidity days. Those tend to 'dull' down his powers.
