Silver and Red
Date of Scene: 12 September 2022
Location: Recreation Lounge: Triskelion
Synopsis: Natasha and Silver have a quick chat about the sewers.
Cast of Characters: Natasha Romanoff, Silver Sablinova

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
There's some casual chatter and drinking going on in the recreation lounge. A group of off-duty, sore looking agents back after a field mission are settled about and are talking about things in the aftermath. Over to the side, a not quite as bruised Natasha is walking in from something related to the Avengers. She has a lightly annoyed look on her face even as a hand goes to brush out a smudge of what looks like sewer goo from a cheek.

Silver Sablinova has posed:
Amongst those gathered was a figure in white. Silver was sitting in the break area, on one of the couches but away from the noise of the video games. She was talking with an agent who was sitting there. The discussion seemed more business related, quite serious and the the agent got up and left. Leaving Silver to pull out her phone and type in some information, hitting send to get a team working on the new data.

She tucked the phone back away in the pocket o her white trenchcoat then spotted Natasha coming in. A nod of acknowledgement and a polite smile were given to the agent.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff would turn over and givea wave, "Hello, Silver. How are you doing?" She would grab a rag to rub it over some goo on her face to then flick the rag over to one of the disposal chutes. "I hope that your field jobs have been going well." And hopefully giving her a steady income flow. Natasha would take the gesture as an invite to walk on over, moving to finish wiping off her hands over on her sides.

Silver Sablinova has posed:
Watching as Natasha wiped goo off herself then came her direction, Silver did /not/ offer her hand in greeting. Because--ew. One did what one must in the name of the mission though. Didn't mean she wanted sewer goo on her hand though.

"Going well enough. SHIELD has given us a couple of names of people they are looking for. I think to see if we can find them as a test. We'll see how that goes. Had a few of my Alpha Squad help on some assignments. So going well. You seem to have had a night?"

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff would nod, "Good. I'm sure that whomever is liasingw ith you knows where to most effectively put your talents." She would glance down at herself, not phased in the slightest by her presence. It was the way things normally were.

"Ah, some sort of alien hive dug in underneath the city. We were performing a reconaissance run. Hopefully we can send in a strike team soon enough."

Silver Sablinova has posed:
"Alien?"

That caught Silver's attention. Though some aliens had proven helpful, such as those in the Avengers or Justice League, a lot of them had seemed set on conquering the planet. So it was something to pay attention to.

"Like the ones from a few years back? Known type? Or something new?"

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff would shake her head, "Insectoid in nature. Not quite the same as the Chitauri. We think they have a hive mind of a sort but aren't sure. There's a fairly substantial hive in the underground that we've been mapping and gathering information on. Someone decided to call it Legion." Someone in SWORD's ranks has a sense of humor

Silver Sablinova has posed:
"I suppose it may be fitting." But Silver's nose wrinkles a little in distaste as the choice. For her the Legion was something else entirely so it was hard to apply it to alien invaders.

"Are they a danger to the population or simply setting up their 'house'?" Because there was a difference between invaders and perhaps fleeing their planet in search of a new home while not causing problems. While she hoped it was the latter, she wasn't going to bet money on it.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff would shake her head, "So far, hostile. They've operated in teh subways and taken prisoners. They seem to be aggressive in expanding their territory and tunneling. It could be that it's purely related to their species rather than general intent. but they're still causing casualties and undermining structural areas."

Silver Sablinova has posed:
Silver sighs softly. "Of course they are." Because that was how it generally worked. It was sad that it wasn't more 'let's be pals' from the aliens. She tilted her head as she considered, weighing the information than dismissing a few theories. Because without more information, there was no way to reach a conclusion.

"I wish you the best of luck dealing with them. I'd offer but..." She smirked a little and glanced down at her white pants, boots and tank top under the white trench coat. "Sewers and my signature color do not go well together."

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff would nod, "Yes, I can imagine." She would quip over. "I'd offer to stay and chat but I'm not sure I'm the most pleasant smelling conversational companion here." She would go on. "But, for now they're acting aggressively and a threat to civilians. So it means they have to be dealt with sooner rather than later." Whether this was a SWORD operation or something terrestrial was still being sorted out.

Silver Sablinova has posed:
"If it isn't classified, I would appreciate information about them. In case we run into any in our missions, we would know how to combat them. Either email it to me or, if it requires a paper copy, it can be sent over to the Embassy."

Then Silver smiled and gave a nod. "Go get a shower. I may have to take one just out of empathy." Did she even have empathy?

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff would nod at Silver, "I'll ensure that you have access to the files. And I've not needed any sort of decontamination so it can't be that bad. But I can understand." The woman that lived through the eastern front of the second world war apparently sees grime as something to run along with.

Silver Sablinova has posed:
"I'm sure it isn't and I've been there. But sewer assignments are my least favored," Silver admits. But she does push herself up to her feet as well. A quick straightening of the trench as it fell around her.

"It has been a pleasure, Agent Romanoff. I appreciate the information."

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanoff would nod, "Of course. Feel free toa ccess the files in the database. Admittedly close quarters fighting is not within your company's normal profile for these types of sweep and clear operations." Extended close quarters fighting no matter the environment was the stuff of nightmares for any type of combatant

Silver Sablinova has posed:
"I do have a few members that enjoy it. They call themselves Tunnel Rats, which seems fitting." Silver said with another of those brief smiles. "Their choice on the name. We didn't dub them with it."

"Though you are correct that the sewers are not usually where we have to venture. Most of our bounties prefer to stay above ground. Anyway, it has been a pleasure. I have a meeting in 30 minutes at the Embassy so need to go if I'm going to make it with traffic."
