Authentic Purpose and Cuisine
Date of Scene: 07 February 2023
Location: Cafeteria - Playground
Synopsis: Dancing, Food, and joining the Secret Warriors
Cast of Characters: Kora Johnson, Daisy Johnson

Kora Johnson has posed:
During the two different hay days of The Playground, there was an actual chef that worked the kitchens with a team of cooks. Feeding hundreds, or even dozens of agents is a talent and not an easy job. Now the Playground is mostly quiet again with barely a half dozen agents here at any one time.

The cafeteria is still where the kitchen is and Kora is cooking up a stir fry of some sort. The local ingredients are not the same as in Nepal but she's making do. The local Chinese Grocery was at least helpful.

As the ingredients sizzle away in a big wok, Kora has ear pods in and is pulling unhappy faces as she keeps hitting skip on her phone. The music of the 00's was.... weird. It's taking her some getting used to the notion that musical fashion moved on without her. Bring back grunge!

Daisy Johnson has posed:
When did Daisy become the responsible Agent that burns the midnight oil instead of being the rebellious one that went against orders? Darn you Director Fury and Agent Coulson for giving her purpose! And in this case the purpose of leading the Secret Warriors. And now she found herself back at the playground, going over a review of the latest mission out, the second time they met with the dark elves involved in Thor's disappearance..

She sighs and puts the tablet away. Time for a break. Which leads her to go closer to the cafeteria where Kora is doing her stuff. A head pokes in, then Daisy trails quietly into the kitchen to find the source and ....

... lifts a surprised brow.

And a moment later she is peering over Kora's shoulder at the food being done, all sneaky like!

Kora Johnson has posed:
Kora finally finds something that is decidedly 2001 but still interesting. She rocks her shoulders and hips as she swishes the ingredients about in the wok with a wooden spoon. She isn't aware of Daisy having snuck up on her otherwise she wouldn't be singing so brazenly.

"I like it when the beat go, dun-uh, dun-uh
Baby, make your booty go, dun-uh, dun-uh (baby)
Girl, I know you wanna show, dun-uh, dun-uh
    That thong, th-thong, thong, thong"

Though Daisy's chin over her shoulder makes her stop and turn suddenly to stare at her sister. She pulls the earpods out of her ears and lets the sizzling of the food fill the awkward silence.

How does a sister recover from that? You double down of course, "With a look in your eyes so devilish, uh You like to dance on the hip hop spots." She flicks her head and does a twirl on the spot challenging Daisy to a dance off as the food cooks.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Really. The Thong Song?! That makes a smirk crop up to Daisy's features. Not that she gets in the way of the singing prowess of her sister. She already had a taste when they were dancing it out when she revealed having been a pop star in ..., another life. Or another framework. Whatever works!

"Nice vocals." Is her comment to fill the awkward silence. And yes. Still with that little smirk on her features. So infuriating!

That Kora then goes and challenges her to a dance off? It means she reaches out for one of those earpods. Because you can't expect Daisy to know the lyrics of -that- song by heart. She puts it in her ear to listen, a few moments to get into the beat.

"And she cruise to crews to connect the dots~, not just urban, she like the pop~" she sings back, a few steps back before engaging in a dance. Lots of hip motion of course. Because it's the thong song.

Kora Johnson has posed:
Kora and Daisy certainly know how to dance like fools with each other in a kitchen. For them, the moves are sweet, sick as, legit sexy even. With an earpod each as the food sizzles away, Kora uses the wooden spoon as a prop microphone until she sees Agent Jasper standing in the kitchen doorway with a look of shock on his face.

Kora stops dancing and steadies Daisy too at the intrusion of the non-Johnson. Jasper half steps in to the kitchen, awkwardly reaches across to the jar of cookies while not taking his eyes off the sisters, then slowly backs out of the room.

Kora peers around the serving counter until Jasper is out of the room, then bursts out laughing. The spoon goes back in to the wok and she stirs about the ingredients. "You're staying for dinner." It's a statement of fact. She knows her sister doesn't seem to stop and relax very often. Big important secret warriors leader who flies jets and wubs with her hands.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Daisy was getting into it! Which means she is right in the middle of a rather daring move that has those legs pulling up with her hips giving a twist until she then notices Jasper. Of course she is still in the flow which means there's a, "Thong, thong, thong ..." to finish the song before she is staring at the man.

And as Jasper goes to take the cookie jar she points a couple of fingers at her eyes and then points back at Jasper. His silence for Jasper not being revealed as the cookie monster.

She laughs as well when Jasper is gone from sight, "Well, that felt good.." she admits, resting her elbows on the counter next to the cooking going on. "So, what are you cooking? Smells nice." she says, nearing her nose to the wok.

Kora Johnson has posed:
Kora turns back to the food and decides it's pretty much done. She serves up two plates and turns the burner off. The rest can sit in the wok and continue to cook for a bit. She grabs chopsticks and moves out to the seats to eat with her sister.

"Zhajiangmian Gai Lan," she replies not elaborating further on that. Though the noodle dish with broccoli certainly looks appetising. It also tastes as good as it smells. Kora doesn't waste any time digging in to the food. "We'd take turns cooking in Lai Shi. Dishes from all around the world but locally grown foods. Sometimes Gordon would bring in ingredients from other places - but we were pretty self sufficient."

Afterlife was actually called Lai Shi which better translates to 'next life' but some how along the way the English name for the place became Afterlife. "How goes the super spy heroing business?"

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Chopsticks, eh?

Daisy picks up a couple, turns her nose and then asks. "Do you got any of those training chopsticks with the little rubber band on top to keep them together..?" really? Daisy doesn't know how to chopstick? But before any kind of horrorized look appear on Kora's face she winks her way. She's clearly teasing! For Daisy is a professional with those chopsticks.

"This has broccoli.." she notes. "I will let it go because you are my sister." not a fan of broccoli, clearly. She settles down to eat as well, starting to eat it up.

"Speaking of Gordon, remind me to get you to watch some Gordon Ramsay stuff one of these days." This while getting a few large pieces into her mouth. "It's good." she says in approval to the food, grinning with her mouth still full.

"Focused on some troubles related to Asgard.." She sighs, "Now that Thor has disappeared there seems to be a threat cropping up, related to some dark elves.."

Kora Johnson has posed:
Outside world news! "Thor has disappeared?!" Woops, was that meant to be classified? Oh well, too late now. "Dark elves? what is this Lord of the Rings?" Enya starts playing over the earpods. She has been going through the 'best of 2001' playlist and Enya made some moves that year. Thanks to Lord of the Rings.

Still, food is the main priority. But she does casually add in, "I've been thinking I should help out. You know with your secret warriors stuff. You're doing good things and, let's face it, you probably need someone who can blast holes in things from time to time."

A casual shoulder shrug as if it's no biggy. It's a big biggy though and she's trying hard to be real casual about asking to join the band.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"You don't get dark elves in lord of the rings..." Daisy squints her eyes, "Unless we are talking of the uruk-hai, who are elves corrupted by Saruman..., and oh my God I just realized you probably haven't seen the movies yet.." what a crime! She shakes her head slowly. "And yes, Thor was attacked by one of his enemies. Malekith so it seems, conquering warlord. We believe he may have designs here on Earth too so ..., SHIELD is all over it."

Daisy goes back to the food for a bit, savoring it until those last words come. She somehow doesn't seem that surprised upon hearing it. "Yea?" so casual too. Trying to not make a big fuss out of that either!

"Come on." She tells her sister, hopping up from the couch and starting to walk out of the cafeteria. She still brings her food though. Wherever is she dragging Kora to?!

"Are you really sure about it? It will be dangerous."

Kora Johnson has posed:
The dishes can wait. Or may be one of the agents will clean up. Odds are there won't be left overs - her cooking is gaining in popularity around the base. "Oh?" she says dipping casual once more as she rises and follows her sister out. Whatever could this be about. Daisy is playing it way too cool. Something is up.

"Hah. Well, Danger is my middle name. You know, Kora Danger Johnson. Everyone knows that." She taptaps the earpod to shut off Enya. Enya is not helping with this conversation.

"And I'll have you know I saw the Lord of the Rings movie. The animated one. With the terrible graphics," she says as if that's the only Lord of the Rings movie that mattered. No one has told her about Peter Jackson's trilogy of movies yet. She does not yet know about Orlando Bloom.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"No, that's Monica." You know, DANGER JACKET! Which gets them to the problem Daisy then focuses on. "Have you thought about a codename?" She wonders as they pace the corridors of the mostly empty base, their footsteps echoing.

Does the question about a codename mean she is already accepting Kora in? But Daisy gives no time for one to think on it because she gets into a room and goes over to a closet, bringing out a box.

"Go ahead." She tells Kora, "Open it." inside she will be finding a suit not too different from what Quake already uses on her missions. But instead of the black with blue highlights it's black with some subtle golden ones.

Kora Johnson has posed:
Kora scrunches up her face at the question of codenames, "Damn. Danger would have been a great codename. You know what, just call me Kora, Kora is a cool name." She is brimming with excitement. Daisy has basically said yes at this point which means going on cool secret missions with her sister.

She looks at the box and opens it up. Pulling out the uniform her eyes widen and she then peers at Daisy, "When did you have this made!? You were planning this all along!"

Well it's clear their hearts are in sync on this matter. She smiles and slides the jacket on over her current clothes. It fits, but only just - it's meant to be worn over that nanomesh armor also in the box and with the pants too.

Kora nods her head a little too much, "Yeah. This is very cool. I like it. The others won't mind will they? they're all super special trained agents and I'm just.. well.. you know, the boss's sister."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"A while back.." Daisy keeps it casual, lifting her shoulders in a shrug. She doesn't reveal how long ago she had the dream of having her sister work along with her! She does grin when she sees Kora's excitedness about it all though, "We need a codename. Every hero needs one." she tells her.

"How about Sunshine...?" So shiny.

"The secret warriors isn't just for agents, but also for those of us who have powers. Mutants, Inhumans. Those that want to make a difference and fight for what is right." Her tone more solemn now. "And yes, I think you have your heart in the right place for this.."

Then a wink, "Besides, we need a good cook. I hear it boosts the morale." now she's is just teasing!
