Night on the Town
Date of Scene: 08 November 2023
Location: The Narrows - Miagani Island
Synopsis: Some minor crime busting was done and Qira and Charlie have met and swapped numbers. Future Trouble Possible Indeed.
Cast of Characters: Qira Quest, Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe

Qira Quest has posed:
It's a quiet night in Gotham City. Which is highly suspicious. There's no such thing as a 'quiet night' in Gotham! Carjackers, muggers, robbers, smugglers... to say nothing of the abundance of literal supervillains!

And not all is silent, there are mice.. er, rats.. that are still scurrying about and perpetuating crimes in the city. One such group is a small gang of small-time thugs that are celebrating a recent heist in one of the vacant buildings in the sketchier part of The Narrows. They managed to get away with the crime thanks to multiple larger scale events occurring at the same time, keeping the various Bats and Birds busy.

But they didn't completely escape notice. One individual has tracked them back to their 'hideout' and is currently perched on the crenellated window casements just above the room the thugs are celebrating in. She's waiting, listening. Making sure that all the goods they managed to nab are still present, nothing has been fenced yet...

This figure wears the black silks of a ninja, complete with full coverage hood that leaves only a thin strip of the eyes visible. And those eyes are.. unnatural. Green-gold and with a strange cast to them, occasionally giving off the flicker of nightshine as she scans the area. At a distance, one might even mistake her for just.. a loose cat. But the shadow she casts is far larger (unless one of Selina's or Thomas' big cats have gotten loose).

Qira finally gets the confirmation that a metting with the fence has been set for 48 hours from now... and acts. Grabbing hold of the casement edge with one hand, she swings down and crashes through the window to roll across the floor before launching herself at the nearest thug.

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
To be fair to the Gotham supervillains. Some of them are pretty quiet. They aren't like Metropolis villains with daytime shennigans and metal robot suits knocking down buildings after all. Or those New York Villains with their animal themes like Rhino and Scorpian. What is with that.

Honestly what is with the Bat sand the Cats and Birds too in Gotham.

    Anyhow.

Also most of the Bats and Cats are busy. Misfit is not dealing with those larger scale events, she has also been tracking the gang. Mostly because she has been desperately trying to actually hone some detective skills so people will stop teasing her. "Huh, ninja." she comments to herself as she watches the entry be made from a height well across the way perched. She taps those orange goggles flipping to a mode that lets her see the heat signatures through the flimsy walls of the gangs hideout. "MmmMmmhm. Ninja for sure." as she watches a moment longer letting it play out through the first thug at least.

Then the young woman steps off the rough and vanishes in a slash of pinkish purple smoke. Appearing moment later in another slash of smoke, was it a smoke bomb!? Directly over and coming down feet first with some momentum on one of the thugs shoulders driving him down to the floor solidly, capelet swishing. She follows it up with a smooth non-lethal finisher that is absolutely League of Assasin flavored that Cassandra taught her before popping to her feet.

Qira Quest has posed:
Qira handles the first thug with swift, brutal efficiency (if nonlethal), a quick strike with stiffened fingers to the carotid, blocking blood flow long enough for him to pass out as she rides the body to the floor, using the fallen man as a springboard to the next, who is dealt with by a nasty mid-air roundhouse kick to the temple before she lands and rolls to avoid potential gunfire from the last thug... who apparently is already down thanks to the appearance of a redhead in.. a Batlike uniform.

Not taking chances, she flips smoothly to her feet and takes up an eerily familiar stance. League of Assassins. It would explain her efficiency in dealing with the penny-ante thieves, they lack any real training or technology to cause her any issue. Those strange eyes narrow as she looks over Charlotte quickly and gives a muffled, "You wear the symbol of the Bat, but I'm not familiar with you..."

There's little being revealed by Qira herself, the outfit gives nothing away other than she's short and trim and has very weird eyes. No symbols, no nothing, really. And if exposure to Damian and Cass has taught her anything, there's probably weapons of some kind spirited away in the folds of that outfit. A mystery!

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
After a quick glance making sure they are actually down, she thumbs a pouch and produces a ziptie and humming chipperly crouches down to ziptie the one she subdued. She is keeping an eye on you though as she does.

"Nice moves." she says with what can only be chipper genuineness, or good acting. "Bam, vengeance. Also pretty familiar moves..."

The ziptie secured she stretches and drops into a mirror of your stance. Someone trained the little bat it seems. "Though not sure we are fighting, I mean, these are the baddies and all. You also didn't kill them, which kudos for not sucking..... anywho I'm Misfit. I am indeed wearing a sorta Bat symbol.. though I definitely did my own thing with it.... do you like it?" okay she is talkative.

Qira Quest has posed:
Qira watches as Charlotte zipties her downed thug, still unwilling to lower her guard just yet. When Charlotte moves into the same stance, she seems to consider something for a moment, then drops her own. "I am.. Qira. And I promised the Bat that I would operate under his rules in Gotham." She moves towards her own thugs, pulling her own black zipties from her sleeve and binding them not only hand and foot, but then binding hand to foot, effectively hogtie-ing them.

After they're secured, however, she begins rifling through pockets, taking cash, a watch that she deems valuable.. then starting to systematically move through the room, checking boxes to make sure items are still inside, and looking for any additional personal belongings that can be 'confidscated'. "I am a terrible arbiter of fashion. But it seems to suit you, if that is what you mean."

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
Charlie watches the pilfering of the various thugs personal belongings. She doesn't say boo or try to stop Qira though from doing it. Heck she did the same thing when she was first starting on her own after all, had to eat somehow.

She does drop out of the stance and walk over to lean against one of the walls watching you work still. "I'm told my fashion sense is, eclectic, unique, and various other words that mean totally chaotic and wierd... but I like it."

"Qira.. qira... I think I remember seeing that but not recently." a pause then she mutters, "Oracle, query, Qira." and her goggles have the faintest flicker. "So back busy then, I think the Bat will appreciate you still following his rules."

Qira Quest has posed:
"I have... little clothing. All designed for ease of movement and coverage, or obfuscation and comfort. The only fashion elements are those meant to emulate others of my... apparent age range... that I can better move through the city unnoticed." Qira collects up all her 'earnings' then pulls out a cheap smart phone in one of those 'indestructible' Otter Box cases. She taps the screen a few times, then puts it away.

Looking to Charlotte, she motions to the window, "We should go, the police will be here within 15 minutes, if tonight's activities, and the duty roster, are any indication of response time." Moving towards a back window that will open onto a fire escape, she glances to Charlotte, "I was here. Then I left to handle personal affairs. Then I returned. I will continue to abide by his rules so long as I reside in his city."

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
There is a tiny alert on her goggles that GCPD was called to her location, she mmms and then nods. "Oracle has the response time at about fourteen right now, really good calculation Qira." she compliments. She indicates the window Qira came into.

"Meet you on the roof of the apartment two buildings down maybe. If you want to talk a bit. Otherwise... well uh.. good working with you Qira." she is trying the low pressure approach.

She pushes off from her lean on the wall and there is a slash of that pinkish purple smoke and she is gone. Another smoke bomb perhaps. That said she is gone in a heartbeat with no signs.

She will be waiting on the roof if Qira shows up.

Qira Quest has posed:
Nodding once, sharply, Qira moves to exit through the rear window, using the fire escape for easy access to the roof, then she's running across the tops and making a few very questionable jumps from building to building that she lands perfectly... and without any sort of grapple or swing or gliding aparatus. Which is, in itself, odd. Though probably less so to Charlotte.

When she reaches the second roof over that was indicated, she'll look to Charlotte, "You are.. altered. Teleportation?"

It's safe to say that Qira herself is not quite human, performing acrobatic feats beyond what even Dick Grayson could manage.. and he manages quite a lot. But there's also just something.. off.. about her. She lacks social skills or even really an understanding of 'normal' social behaviors. There's an inherent disconnect occurring somewhere that she just doesn't 'get it'.

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
Misfit is patient. She didn't even launch one of the little oracle drones to see if she was going to be joined. Someone should be proud of her for keeping her promise that it was fine if Qira didn't want to.

"Well not altered but certainly odd. I do teleport. Sort of. That is like.. totes the easiest way to explain it realy without going off the deep end about it." she grins.

"You altered then, your moves are... well not quite human in my experience either." she glances towards there the leaping over to this building was done from. Parkour indeed. "League do something to you during training or find you gifted?" yeah she isn't much of a detective but she knows the fighting style after being trained so long by Cass.

Qira Quest has posed:
Nodding, Qira offers, "The science is still in progress to understand teleportation, though there are some that either have already unlocked it or are close. But it is generally considered a metahuman trait, rather than something that can simply be.. accessed." So she can learn, but social aspects are.. difficult. The human element usually is.

"Created. I was created. Altered at a genetic level before any sort of fetus existed." Qira glances to the gap and lifts a shrug, "They wanted someone that could gain access in and out of hard to reach areas without bulky gear or vehicles."

She brings one finger up to the mouth area of her mask, "They are unaware I live. I would like that to continue."

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
"Welp, I've only talked to excommunicated members or those also on the run or strong enough to tell em to take a hike, so never fear." another smile.

"I wasn't made in a lab, I just have chaos magic. That seems to be what fuels the teleportation. So I don't just access it." a light shrug. "One of the people teaching me says I just sort of break the laws of the universe when I Do it... which is rad as heck really."

This does explain a lot, both explanations really. She indicates Qira with a gloved hand. "I'm happy to do team ups anytime tho, deffo some sitches where you shouldn't tackle them alone no matter how well assassin trained you are."

Qira Quest has posed:
"I do not fear the League's retribution. They created me... they own me. And I expect they would be upset to find out I was resurrected without their permission." Qira lifts a small shrug, then adds, "I expect that Gotham is the best place to hide. They won't infiltrate too deeply without direct authorization from the al Ghul's."

She nods to Charlotte's explanation of her power, then blinks slowly, "I break laws of nature, but that is a different discussion."

Nodding, she offers, "I can be found wherever and whenever there are criminals that the Bats and Birds are unable to stretch enough to cover." Pausing, Qira adds, "I... also have a phone number."

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
"That is much easier than the super mysterious answer." she notes with playful amusement. "If you want to share cool, I'll give you one that can reach me as well." though it is more routed by the array to her comms in a pinch.

"IF you need backup I can be there pretty quick." which makes sense with the teleporting really. If disturbingly.

Once numbers are swapped she looks sheepish. "I'm needed though. Call sometime. Byeee" and the young woman is gone with a step back and another slash of the pink smoke.
