Which means that it's not Black Canary that hears the distant roar of a heavy duty engine doing things it surely shouldn't be doing in Manhattan afternoon traffic... and judging by the distant sounds of metal on metal getting closer, whoever's driving like they stole it probably really did steal it.<br><br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;It's really only when the armored car comes careening around the corner several blocks away that Dinah realizes she hasn't got any NYC heroic sorts on speed dial. And while 'leather jacket and blue jeans' is arguably an even /more/ suited-to-heroics outfit than 'leather jacket and fishnets', she's almost certain there's some sort of like... accepted method to checking in with the local costume crew to make sure you're not interrupting their flow in crime fighting.<br><br>If only she knew it. New York's got a shocking lack of 'Giant spotlights with purpose-built symbols' compared to Gotham. Maybe it's a phone app? Babs keeps telling her she needs to get over her technophobia and 'get some apps' whatever that means.<br><br>But hey, she can wing it. She's a Bird of Prey! All of these thoughts are a blur as she finds she's already sprinting towards the onrushing armored car. But surely someone else is going to swing in any moment now... surely.<br> <br>

As long as the door's not closed, that is.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;No roller derby for her, she's just hanging out on a rooftop, legs hanging over the edge as she works her way through a hot dog with a soda near by. She thinks about a certain group of demons who really should have taken her seriously when she offered to introduce them to hot dogs, but nope, they had more nefarious schemes in mind. Well, that's their loss.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;She tilts her head with an absent frown of focus at the sound of revving diesel and screeching rubber. Emergency vehicle? is her first thought, and then the sounds of vehicle colliding convinces her it's something else. Quickly finishing her hot dog and dusting off her hands, she leaps to the next building, hearing the motor and able to see a careening armored car. She parallels its course on the road below, running on the rooftop and then leaping from building roof to try to land on truck roof, swinging in.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;But don't call her Shirley.<br> <br>

:'''{{#var:463|Dinah Lance (463)}} has posed:'''<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;If Dinah had some sort of cool danger sense, she might have picked up on Greer's presence as she was up on the rooftops, but as is, she's nearly as surprised at the striped figure leaping down from on high to crash onto the armored car's rooftop as the robbers themselves. It's not exactly a development that calms them down, but at least one of the robbers is going to be fated to be the butt of many /many/ jokes when they wind up in prison, as there's the sound of automatic gunfire from the rear of the truck... and then the sharp metallic pinging of the rounds ricocheting off to scatter through the cargo area of the truck.<br><br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;How was /he/ supposed to know it was armored from the inside too?!<br><br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;And really, a little accidental firearms discharge isn't that big of a deal compared to a no-foolin' Avenger landing on the roof, or the blonde who's striding out into the street, eyes darting quickly... oh, she's always wanted to try this! But wrecking a street in Gotham always seemed like a bad idea, Gotham City Public Works are overtaxed as is.<br><br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Dinah inhales slowly, eyes closing for a moment, just a brief little internal peptalk... after all, with Tigra on the roof (That's right, she remembers Tigra! They stopped a dinosaur auction once, and... well, she's memorable, yeah?) it seems like a good idea to bring the armored car to a stop.<br><br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;And that's why Dinah unleashes that iconic canary cry, not directly at the onrushing vehicle though, she aims lower, at an angle, asphalt buckling from the sonic waves and rising up like a tide of solid stone. Just the sort of thing to cause the driver to hit the brakes, while Dinah's glancing around to make sure the citizens are running /away/ from all this trouble as it's unfolding.<br> <br>

Tigra makes a solid thump as she lands and goes into a crouch. She's trying to get a good grip on the top of the armored truck somewhere, but there's not much to grab, and the hardened steel is resistant to her claws.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Woops! At the sound of gunfire she reflexively backflips off the truck, landing in a gymnast's pose about ten feet behind it, and then looking both amused and sheepish as she realizes the gunfire was contained within the truck. Probably not as amusing for the goons inside the truck, though.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;She hadn't noticed Dinah yet, but her sonic attack is unmistakable, and Tigra does another backflip to get further away from it, relying on distance and the mass of the truck to keep her sensitive ears safe, though augmenting with furry hands held over said ears.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;No surprise that in New York, when something like this breaks loose, most citizens head for cover...or a good vantage point to record events on their phones. It means Dinah's got room to work with, and once the scream has faded, the only other person running to the truck is Tigra, no longer having to protect her ears.<br> <br>

Well, call of professional appreciation for how smoothly Greer leaps through the air in a backflip, while she's running forward herself, picking her way up the jagged 'tidal wave' of asphalt her voice formed, until she's just a little higher than the hood of the armored car, leaping towards the driver's side door to deliver a flying kick that angles her off from the car itself to land on the street... but also rebounds the door back to clock the driver in the head as he was in the midst of getting out.<br><br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;And Dinah flashes a grin that, well, probably can't be seen because she sees Greer already heading towards the rear doors of the armored car, sighing out, "Okay, this is just..." For her part, she's able to admire how easily Dinah surmounts the asphalt and takes out the driver of the truck. "Karma for armored car thieves?" she calls back to Dinah at her observation that it's not at all unfair what's happening to the goons.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Stripes twitch over feline muscles as she wrenches the back door open, ready to leap to the side if anyone's prepared to open fire on her. Fortunately for her, and not for them, the two in the back are dealing with wounds from their ricochets. Likely not life threatening, but certainly painful, and debilitating. As Dinah heads to the back of the car she can see their weapons clatter to the street as Tigra tosses them out from the back.<br> <br>

Armored cars are beyond close quarters, and she's got a feeling the sudden stop didn't help the robbers out much. If New York's residents hadn't behaved entirely reasonably and evacuated the street, she'd be tempted to make a show of ordering a pretzel or something.<br><br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;As is, when one of the robbers tries to crawl out and flee the Wrath of Tigra, Dinah gives him a solid blow to the head and then drags him out to drop him on the street... not, like, head first or anything. Repeated traumatic brain injuries are /serious/.<br><br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;She glances up at the Avenger and flashes a grin, "Okay, you totally need to let me buy you a coffee sometime.
