Manny Gutierrez wouldn't remember that sound as consciousness fled him so very quickly, the next thing he'd hear would be the questions asked him by the doctor in the recovery ward. Though perhaps she might be mildly exceeding her social mandate in the events of the evening.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;"We're clear." Daredevil's voice is sharp, stern as he turns his head letting his partner know that that was the last of them. He steps away, heavy boots eerily silent as he moves. None of the other gang members were awake, their heartbeats slow and steady. He started to kneel over one and went through the man's pockets, checking and gathering their phones for Quake to later work her magic on and gather what intel she can from.<br> <br>

Matt was clearly a baaad influence on Daisy because she had decided to start going out on some of those night forays he did, even going as far as they getting Daisy a suit to keep her identity a secret. The dark red of Matt's suit contrasted with the dark blue of her own, skin tight, armored here and there with her face partially disguised. It would do, as long as she didn't start using her telltale powers -too- much.<br><br>And in this case she didn't have to. That eerie silence after an intense battle. Breath still hard on her throat. A burning sensation on her side where one of the Cartel members had hit her with a bat.<br><br>"We need to figure out where they got their explosives." But right now it'd serve to be a place where Daisy can take a look inside those myriad of phones. Though all of them were, of course, black. And all of them were, of course, from Google. His head tilts slightly to the side, 'gaze' seemingly focused past her somewhere. Then that crimson mask turns more in her direction. There's a nod out of Daisy when Matt speaks of alerting the paramedics to the condition of a man they just beat up. Beat them up but do not kill them. For now he starts about the steady task of pulling the fuses from each explosive and dismantling them, twisting open the small plastic casings and pulling out the circuitry, tiny board after board then dropping them down on the ground and crunching them under the heel of his boot. <br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Once that's done he turns his head and then answers her in a slightly louder tone, "Easiest solution to that is don't get hit." Then he's moving as he heads to the side opening the door out of that greenhouse, several shards of glass falling out of the frame since they had broken it with their abrupt entry and arrival onto the scene.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;"Take your work with you, NYPD is early, we gotta move." The quick no-nonsense tone of the man is so different than when he's out of the uniform. When he's in the court room or at home, so easy going. But out here in the world? She knows it's nothing to do with how he feels about her. It's just how he has to work.<br> <br>

She saw him make that same stride she'd seen him make before, that preface to the picking up of pace as he breaks into that run for the rush and leap over the side of the building, stepping past the edge and into the abyss between buildings along the street. There's a /whisk/ of compressed air being fired as the grapple line leaps and circles around a nearby flag pole jutting out the side of a building. It takes his weight and aids his swing...<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Even as they hurtle across the distance. He trusts she'll follow, and she's proven able to keep up with him. The conversation on hold as the next few moments involve them focusing on the shift and flow of bodies in motion. Then there's the rasp of footfalls upon another rooftop as they land, still moving but now at an easier pace with them clear of the danger area.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;"Going to hold here, have a listen." Out of sight of any curious onlookers.<br><br>And then that telltale thrum of vibration is felt. The one that announces that Daisy is about to use her powers. Invisible to many but to Matt those vibrations are quite visible to the senses, specially due to how familiar they feel. Quake pauses, focusing, lowering herself a touch and her hands open to her sides, pointing to the ground.<br><br>And then she /jumps/ up into the air, flying up and over, propelled by those vibrations until she drops on the rooftop right next to Matt. She exhales after and slides to the edge of the rooftop.<br><br>"Michael did a great job." she says of the suit, "As he always does. A little tight on the hip still, but that's workable." a beat, "And don't you dare blaming it on Christmas." though he could blame it on Christmas! Always a time of a bit of excess.<br><br>A phone comes out and she works on it while they wait for the police to arrive.<br> <br>
