I hate alarm clocks
Date of Scene: 07 February 2024
Location: 5D - Gwen's Greenwich Loft
Synopsis: The alarm clock doesn't go off and both Gwen and Ben need to rush for their respective responsibilities. The culprit for the alarm clock is never found.
Cast of Characters: Gwen Stacy, Ben Reilly

Gwen Stacy has posed:
Early morning chez Gwen.

Not as early as Gwen was HOPING for. But whose fault IS that?! "Have I told you how much I hate alarm clocks?" for indeed the alarm hadn't gone off at the time it was supposed to. Had one of them forgotten? Did the alarm clock simply didn't function? Gwen wasn't with both the time and the mood to start tossing accusations or checking what had really happened. Had they been too 'busy' last night to set it? So many possibilities.

All possibilities that Gwen just couldn't go through now as she was finishing getting the last few buttons of her white blouse, all prim and ready, she checking herself on the mirror.

"What time is your interview?" She asks.

Ben Reilly has posed:
The mystery would live and die with Ben Reilly. The alarm clock _had_ gone off, and he had forgotten to take off his web shooters, and ... well, it's a good thing that his webbing dissolves iwthin an hour, otherwise there MIGHT have been evidence as to what happened.

Nonetheless, he was also scrambling around to get dressed for his interview. Not that it was anything exciting, of course. He may have the brains of Peter Parker but he doesn't have the academics, even a GED to his name. But nonetheless, dress for success. He does not even have the time to stand and gawk at Gwen as she gets dressed. Although he does it anyway.

"I wish our spider-senses worked for sleeping in!"

Gwen Stacy has posed:
White blouse all ready to go. Knee-lengh skirt smoothed over. And now it's time to finish up with a pair of earrings that she sets on her ears before the piece-de-resistance comes by way of the necklace Ben had offered her months ago. A necklace that had perhaps saved their lives. She slips under the blouse and....

"You are gawking."

A look over her shoulder, brow arched, then she finally turning with a big smile through ruby lips. "You approve then?" but then she notices it. "You don't have your tie on yet."

And of course that she goes fetch said tie from the bed, approaching Ben and starting to wrap it around his collar, carefully and gently. "Where would you be if it wasn't for me?" she sounding amused, "I swear, someday you'll forget your head somewhere..."

Close now, with the kind of intimacy that only two people who have lived together for a time can muster.

Ben Reilly has posed:
"Can you blame me?" asks Ben, lifting up his phone quickly and snapping a photo of her. His camera was on the other side of the room, too far away, so this would have to do.

He glances around for a moment, but Gwen finds the tie first. He holds up the photo on the phone as she comes in to tie it. "I am pretty sure I would be lying on a slab somewhere while someone else ran around as Spider-man, unless Peter got to him when he came back."

Not the brightest memory, although the most accurate guess. "But I am rather glad you are here for so many other reasons." He leans over to brush a kiss against her lips.

Gwen Stacy has posed:
Gwen just shakes her head as Ben snaps that not-so-sneaky photo of her, brows shot up as those sharp eyes watch him from under her lashes, focused on getting that tie right. Luckily she has had a -lot- of experience by way of getting her father's tie on so Ben is in luck. Deft fingers turn and twist the fabric as she starts making a semblance of a tie on Ben's outfit.

"That's not a very happy thought.." she admonishes, "Think happy thoughts during the interview and ....." she leans to Ben's ear, whispering softly. "Maybe I will have a surprise for you when you come home tonight.."

Something to look forward to for sure!

She kisses him then when Ben leans to brush lips against hers, grinning into the kiss. "All ready, Mr. Reilly." she tells him, still real close, sliding that tie neatly in place.

Ben Reilly has posed:
Tilting his head in an effort to bring about a smile, Ben's somewhat concerned expression turns around in response to her whisper. He nods, letting her finish off the tie, and then smiles against her kiss.

"I'll call you as soon as it's over. One way or the other." He manages a smile as he tries to have as much confidence in himself that Gwen seems to have in him. "Hopefully with good news."
