Widow against Widow

Synopsis: Yelena and Natasha spar.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
There were a few exiles from the Red Room that had joined SHIELD. Many had vanished in the years the cells of the program had been damaged. Many had gone to mercenary work. Some had gone 'legitimate'. At least part time. But who wanted to stay tied down and told what to do all the time?
    But it was good to check in sometimes, on your own or part of a group. This was one of those times as it was an arranged match of Widow and Widow. One young, one ancient.
    And here in one of the training rooms of SHIELD, it was Natasha against Yelena, in an 'anything goes' match.

Yelena Belova has posed:
Yelena Belova feels wary of 'anything goes'. Not that she fears Natasha (or would admit it if she did, at least), but her idea of anything goes can be a lot of anything. Most of the SHIELD agents here didn't really understand how violent and dangerous a Red Room assassin could be.

She wears black tights and a sports bra, her blonde hair pulled back in a tight ponytail, along with MMA gloves to protect her knuckles while leaving her fingers free to grasp and claw if need be. She flicks a few kicks in the air, practicing her balance.

"You are sure, Natasha? I would not wish to leave a mark on the pride of the agency," she teases.

And fewer still could keep up with Natasha when she was fully violent. There was enough reason to be wary of her. There aren't any others that are joining in or watching, and Natasha has disabled the cameras. This is what will pass for 'catching up' for the pair. Natasha has a pair of heavy metal batons, each equipped with the standard Widow's Bite to add power to the strike, but the electrodes are disabled, and the batteries are in a pouch on her hip.

Natasha's outfit is likewise similar to Yelena's, with her hair tied back. A small thing by the standards of a spy and fighter - most kept thier hair cut short to avoid it being yanked or catching on something. A small bit of ego and testament to her skill.

"I just hope that you heal fast. I don't want to put you in the medbay too long."

Yelena Belova has posed:
Yelena Belova smirks, "I do not break easily, sestra," she says.

She starts out with a few quick strikes, half-feinting, mostly just starting to warm the two of them up, get a feel for each other. She'll dodge responding strikes fairly well, their skillset coming from the same source, capable of meeting each other move for move in the most basic sense. Natasha is longer-limbed and has better reach, but Yelena might be a little bit faster.

"I see you have added some moves. Captain America, perhaps? Is he your sweetheart, Natasha?"

The way the Red Room trains it's combatants is similar. Very little has changed over the decades the program has existed. The blows are exchanged - blocked, parried, dodged, counterattacked. It's a very casual back and forth, that's been done hundreds of times likely be each.

"No, he's always had eyes for someone else. And who has your's then, Yelena?" Natasha goes for a quick block with her hands, and then a quick attempted hook with her ankle, followed by an elbow strike and then an attempted knee to the gut.

Yelena Belova has posed:
Yelena Belova gets hooked and falls backwards, landing flat on her back, but then quickly rolls away, scurrying up to her hands and knees just in time to block the gut strike. She wraps arms around Natasha's leg, trying to tilt her up and off-balance in return, wanting to get a proper takedown and move into a ground grapple.

"I do not get attached to men. I am liking them like Kleenex - soft, strong and disposable."

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha ends up taken down by the shot to her ankle - or maybe she lets it. What happens instead is that her slightly larger frame gives her a better position to grapple. The Red Room serum in her gives her a slight edge in strength, and she's intent for using it and just the small extra reach she has to try and twist Yelena to a more vulnerable position.

"BUt then who do you have in front of you to dispose of?"

Yelena Belova has posed:
Yelena Belova finds herself getting overpowered in the close grapple, finding Natasha turning the tables on her. She lets out a yelp when her arm gets twisted for a moment, unleashing a quick elbow to try and break herself free until she can roll away and kip back up to her feet, blinking away the pain as she shakes out her arm.

"I am between entanglements at the moment. When I need entertainment, I find most American nightclubs have plenty of meat on the hook. Even if they aren't quite on the level of Moscow discos."

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanova would go to try and get Yelena over into an armbar, but the younger blonde is able to get away before she can get the solid lock and Yelena quickly snaps off whatever lingering pain there is as the two disengage. She quickly goes up to her feet and smiles over. "They can be somewhat lacking. If you need a bit more excitement.. There are places."

She goes defensive in position, seeing if Yelena will snap to attack.

Yelena Belova has posed:
Yelena Belova raises, "Places? You speak in mysteries, Natasha. What kind of excitement do you think I am needing?' she asks, a blonde eyebrow raised.

She doesn't quite strike yet, keeping her distance and measuring, the two world class assassins circling one another slowly before moving to strike again. "I do not need to go to a brothel."

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanova would smile, "It's not my fault that you haven't done proper recon of your recreational areas to make plans where you want to head to." The two would circle around one another, until YElena goes in on the attack. Natasha goes to back away from it, letting Yelena stretch herself out. Natasha's trying to lure the girl to a full offensive.

Yelena Belova has posed:
Yelena Belova narrows her eyes, "I can find my own fun, just fine. But still, I am curious as to where these secret places of fun that you are hiding from me," she says, playfully accusatory.

Yelena realizes she's being baited, but she is also, y'know, very prone to being baited. So she does give in to throw some offense, moving in with a few rapid-fire punches, sharp blows that likely sting more than do serious harm, trying to finish with a thrust kick to the chest.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
She's being baited, yes, and she's letting herself be. Natasha said this was an 'anything goes' after all. Natasha goes to fall back as the attacks come in, moving to let her retreat roll off most of the damage, but Yelena gets some good strikes in. She immediately goes to however as soon as Yelena fully commits to the thrust kick.. Goes to snap her fists up, one going to try and catch the inside of her ankle, the other snapping up to try and catch her knee. Presuming Natasha can catch her there at full extension, she would be in a position where she could brutally snap the leg.

Yelena Belova has posed:
Yelena Belova shifts a bit but not enough, taking a hard shot to the leg just above her knee. She feels her thigh cramp in response and can't help but drop to a knee for a moment. She swears in Russian, snarling a bit as her temper is, indeed, triggered.

"Bitch," she spits and then dives forward, throwing elbows and even trying a headbutt as she gets herself in close quarters again.

Even so, her kicked leg is half-numbed from the impact, hands grasping to try and toss Natasha over her hip.

And that's just enough room for Natasha to go in for the 'kill' metaphorically as she goes to twist and flip Yelena around, moving to spin the girl by her caught leg and goes to flip her down to the ground, and Natasha goes to put her elbow at YElena's throat. A 'knockout' by the standards of the melee where Yelena would be incapacitated.

Then, she lets Yelena up,g oes to stretch, and gets into a ready position.

"Again."
