Cast of Characters: Barbara Gordon, Kate Kane

Barbara Gordon has posed:
Following Barbara's last visit to Kate's penthouse, to check on her well being after the entire ordeal with the Vampire curse earlier in the summer, Babs had gone home to setup a new kit of gear for the Birds' to employ. A little over a year and a half ago, Barbara had ventured to the quaint little country of Hungary, where she had met contacts fully enveloped and apart of an underworld culture that thrived amidst a Vampire Coven, and its rather intimidating enemies. Some of that had bled over in to Gotham about three years ago, but the Vampires had become the main ire to Batgirl, after she'd faced some of their most heinous members first hand. With the help of Elektra, Babs had discovered the depths of how far down this underworld went...

But she also came home with some new toys, too.

Babs had sent Kate a text, telling her to meet her at the tower, and come down to the Sub Basement Level 2, where the armory and weapons testing level was setup. This is where Babs resides now, standing amidst the tables scattered through the weapons lab. She had a wide variety of items resting in front of her, including a handgun, of all things. Was Babs prepared to arm the Birds with guns? That'd be a bit unusual.

But Vampires are a bit unusual too, aren't they?

Barbara is adorned in a set of light armor, clearly a set of her Bat-suit gear, but one not adorned in the theatrics of golden flare, and bat logos. This suit was entirely barren, and solid black. She had no cape on, though, and no mask or helmet either. Her red hair was tied back in a braided ponytail that swayed behind her shoulders as she worked on some of the gear in front of her, awaiting her dear friend's arrival.

Kate Kane has posed:
Kate arrived in her Batwoman outfit, looking comfortable enough as she had on her standard utility belt and cape, the red accents against the black body armor striking as always as she came into the armory. Her lips curled into a slight grin as she looked over at Babs, "So, guess you've been busy?" Her eyes flicker over the armor, then she glances at the various items in front of Barbara with a curious expression.

Pulling her cowl back, Kate shook her long hair free of their constraints from beneath the costume, "Still getting used to the longer hair under there. But I'm guessing you've got something pretty interesting here?" Her eyes keep wandering back to the gun, then she looks over at Barbara, so many questions unspoken in her eyes.

Barbara Gordon has posed:
Naturally, the Oracle AI system had told Babs that Batwoman was approaching. That AI was designed by Babs, for Babs--- okay, it was for the Birds... but Babs did have a bit of a security insecurity, following the events with the Joker a decade ago. Nevertheless, the security here at the Clocktower was top tier, the kind of thing that most prisons didn't even have, which might say a lot about the people inside the tower, but really? It was made to keep the world out, not the tower's inhabitants inside.

Babs looked up from her work, a pair of safety glasses worn over her eyes, though really they just looked like some nice designer glasses, with black frames and clear lenses. She showed a grin toward Kate. "Welcome home." She said to the woman, as Kate began to remove her mask. "Anyone ever tell you that you look super in that suit?" She asked, being coy and flirty friendly with Kate, as she tended to be.

"I like seeing you out there in it too. There's a certain... pride to be had, in seeing our people out in their primes, helping others. And just looking damn good in the process."

She shot a grin toward Kate, and then glanced at the stuff strewn around the work table in front of her. A few lights shun down upon the gear, and as Kate got closer, she'd seen some special designed Batarangs, silver and unpainted, but with some kind of strange glass core to their centers, and the gun, of course.

"I've put together some new stuff for you," Babs said softly. "Thought it might be stuff not on your own tech radar, but I imagine current events has maybe changed that... But yeah. Hows about a Vampire kit?" She asked, quirking a dark red brow over one green eye.

Kate Kane has posed:
Kate grins over at Babs, "Well, you haven't mentioned it lately..." Her lips curve ever so slightly as she gives Barbara the friendly once-over, as she always does, their friendship always comfortable enough with the flirting as she just embraces it. Then she laughs very softly, "It IS nice being back out in the field, that's for sure."

Though when she sees the silver-edged batarangs with the oddly designed cores, she blinks a bit, "Wait... a vampire kit?" She grins, and gives Barbara a wickedly delighted expression, "And it isn't even my birthday. What've you got, Babs?" She seems positively /excited/ at the idea of taking fighting vampires to the next level.

Barbara Gordon has posed:
Babs often wore her testing Batsuit, because most of these gear items were directly linked in to the suits themselves, sometimes on a deep tech level, and sometimes just on how they fit in the utility belts themselves. As such, Babs was pulling one of the silvery Batarangs from a black hip pouch, gliding it out and twirling it around in her hand, as she smiled to Kate.

She offered it to her, when the other woman approached. "Silver is always good when fighting the undead. But behond that..." She raised the little thrown weapon up, and softly stroked a finger over its edges. "These little grooves. If you embed them inside a solid object, they'll leak the contents from the glass container here at the core." She stated, poking at the small glass orb, before her green eyes went up to Kate's own.

"Same thing that is in these, is also in these..." She handed the silver Batarang to Kate, and then reached for one of the magazines beside the handgun. She raised it up, and tipped it over to show the ammunition inside the magazine. "Ultra Violet Bullets." She said, the silver bullets also having glass cores, but these are visibly see through, shining a glowing violet substance inside the glass, as it catches the ambient light from around the two women.

"Embed one inside a Vampire? It shatters open, and the Ultra Violet rays will spread in to their blood... and, well... I've seen it first hand. It's like Burning Man, only a lot more disgusting..."

Kate Kane has posed:
Kate grins, "Oh /very/ nice. I actually had hit up my father's DIA contacts. Apparently the BPRD has something they use against supernatural entities. Pretty sure they'd be great against vampires too."

And with that, she pulls out what looks like a Magnum .44, with some custom rounds with glass cores. "Holy water, clover leaf, silver shavings, white oak, and garlic. Not just for vampires, but well... when you don't know what you're dealing with, it's probably not going to like it, /at all/." She grins at Babs and offers her the pistol and rounds, "Thought you'd appreciate the gift, since I do still have a few connections. I mean, you're not the only engineer around here, Babs." With that, the fellow redhead gets a rather saucy wink.

Barbara Gordon has posed:
Naturally, when being offered a piece of advanced engineering work, Babs was quick to exchange items, so that she might get a look at the new bauble placed before her. She turned it around, letting the light from her work station touch its edges, and with it, she showed a contemplative stare, as the craftsmanship was judged within her complicated mind. "Impressive..." She said, with a low tone to her voice, before she turned it over to check another element of the weapon. "You have another of these?" She asked, making sure she wasn't taking something from Kate that she needed.

She looked up to her, gauging her reaction, before she set the weapon down, and reached for another.

"My personal journey with all of this stuff started with Werewolves, and lead in to the Vampires. I was given these as a gift for some of my work, and a tool for possible aggressions, once we made enemies with a Vampire coven." She raised up a black leather sleeve of silvery metal spikes. She pulled one loose, and turned it over in her delicate fingertips, as she held it straight up, letting the light glint off the polished silver. "On the surface, it's just a standard spike. Obvious uses against a foe can be imagined," she said with a smirk, before her hands moved together to twist the spike open. "Inside..." She said, as she pulled the spike apart, and lifted it up again in one-half, a glass container visibly exposed from inside it. "Synthetic blood. Vampire food. I'm told it is quite delicious, if that's your sort of thing..."

Kate Kane has posed:
Kate grins, "Yeah, I've got spares... honestly, my armory might rival Jason's if you went through it. And I've been working on making my own, just because we tend to be a little bit of a supernatural magnet as it is." She nods, listening intently to Bab's explanation of the spikes and then arches a brow.

"So... used as bait? Vampire food?" She glances curiously at Babs as she seems a bit confused at the use of synthetic blood for the core of it, then makes a bit of a face at the mention of it being her sort of thing, "I really should bite you for that..." With that, she sticks her tongue out at Babs.
