Soldiers standing amidst pitch burning torch light stared across a dark field before the hastly constructed defenses surrounding the stone walls meant to keep invaders out. <br><br>Across the field, with a league of Swedish rebels, the Goddess of War watched from beneath the ornate helm harolding back to days of yore. She yield a war mace laid across her armored shoulders, she wore armor engraved with the iconography of Asgard. <br><br>Her black hair hung down from the sharp edges of her face guard, huddled soldiers stared at the woman. A stranger among them who came, led rag tag soldiers, and won battles through the will of her prowess. She made soldiers from peasants. <br><br>What she could not know was that the Germanic allies of the Kingdom of Swedden had called upon ancients of their own. Lycans had joined the fight with promises of spoils and the freedom of war to feast to their satisfaction. <br><br>In times of durress, sacrifices could be made. <br> <br>

She was now commanding her own unit of warriors and they'd been dispatched to this region to push back against opportunistic Lycans that were looking to turn soldiers of the ongoing conflicts to their cause...<br><br>The last thing the Vampires from Hungary needed, were the lines of Lycans they were hunting to be infused with an entire army of Lycans forged from soldiers...<br><br>Selene's unit had arrived, they'd been in talks with the Lord of the land to unite with them to defend against this common threat. Though they'd done their meetings only at night. There were rumors about this mysterious army, and their shining black armor. Not everyone in the Stronghold believed they were on the level...<br><br>But they'd sworn to help the Lord protect this region against those that were threatening it.<br><br>Thusly, Selene was here, with her Death Dealer unit. Mounted on horsebacks, with their stylishly designed armor, Selene's is adorned with the sigil of her house, Lord Viktar's Castle back in Hungary.<br><br>She sits atop her horse now, not far from where the Asgardian Warrior Woman is, even glancing over to her now and then, not currently wearing her own helmet, her dark black hair runs down to her shoulders, and her skin is pale as snow.<br> <br>

The conflicts of men offered her endless battlefields, as far reaching as her immortal eyes could see, she stood now in the cold of a land she knew far too well from ages long past. <br><br>Behind her a messager approached cautiously, turning her attention just slightly over her shoulder at the young boy of nearly fifteen years who spoke words to her Sweddish. Nodding, she turned from staring across the distance to the assembled peasant army of rebels and their vampiric allies. <br><br>She'd known dark ones walked amongst them, but as they had not proven a thorne, she had not felt obliged to harrass them. She was also wearing unconventional weaponry, such as two swords criss-crossed on her back, with one being of a fine dark steel and the other being a shining silver blade. On her hip she had a custom cross-bow that could fire multiple bolts before it had to be reloaded as well.<br><br>When summoned, she arrives at the table and scans her eyes over all the others present, but ultimately her stare goes to Sif, and she gives a soft nod to the woman. "They'll stop at nothing to get to those ladders, but my people have been tangling with this threat for a long time." She says in her own country's tongue. "The lesser soldiers would be wise to avoid all conflict with the ones in rags, they are not as they seem. They do not need the armor and weaponry of war to aid them. It comes... naturally to them. It gives morale to the people, soldiers who until months ago were tilling fields. They have amongst them the embodiment of Asgard.. their ancestors great Gods come to fight along side them in this war for freedom against tyranny. <br><br>Sif nods to Selene and looks to the soldiers, a few older generals who defect to fight in this rebellion, "You have your orders. This castle falls before daybreak." Whether by design or coincidence, she glances at Selene as she pushes from the table. Headed back towards the front after retaking her massive battle mace to lay across her shoulders. <br><br>She doesn't ask questions. <br><br>It isn't that she doesn't care... though it might have something to do with that. <br><br><span class="bold_fg_r bg_n ++ hr">Hours later</span> <br><br>The battle rages. Soldiers have come out from the castle to engage the peasant rebellion and there's shouts and screams of steel on steel as far as the eye can see. Dozens of thousands of men clashing with a singular sight of Lady Sif swinging her battle mace in a circular motion to smash an entire group of Sweddish soldiers out of her path as if swatting away flies from her dinner plate. <br><br>Blood, mud, and rain water runs across her bare face. Having foregone her helmet. Loose black hair sways where it's come loose from the braid, slapping against her pale features as she wades through the screams of battle with an excited gleam in her eye. <br> <br>

They were trained not to associate with Humans, especially their members of their army. Selene, a new General, but a veteran leader at this point of her life, expected nothing short of regimented professionalism from her soldiers.<br><br>And that was to be displayed on the battlefield...<br><br>With the cover of night, the soldiers may be bolstered by the presence of a God, but they cannot lose the fear of the sounds coming from the shadows of the fight all around the Fortress they're protecting. From the forests came the Lycan forces, with trained Werewolves as their allies, the sounds of echoing howling, thunderous roaring and the screams of bodies being torn to shreds, even through suits of armor, were the cries of battle in this fights dark corners.<br><br>And this is where Selene resides, keeping close to the lines that are directly protecting the walls. She's atop one of those very same walls with Lycans scaling the edges. Her swords are out, one used to skewer and the other used to deliver killing blows!<br><br>The Death Dealers line the walls with her, loading their crossbows with silver tipped bolts that skewer the foul Lycans, and their Werewolf pets.<br><br>As two Lycans rush to the top of a fortress wall, Selene rapid scales a supporting buttress and begins to fight them both at the same time! Kicked to the ground she rolls out from one as it pounces a top her, only to come up and drive her silver sword in to the mouth of another that was attempting to use her neck as a chew toy!<br> <br>

Crossbows bounce off her armor, swords slides harmlessly where she had stood moments before only for her mace to cave skull in to the collarbone. <br><br>She has become war. <br><br>And even trained soldiers are not willing to fight her. <br><br>Which is how she ends up leaping a great distance towards the distant sound of howling coming from the forest. Smashing through treetops, folliage, and atop the shoulders of one of those mindless werewolves with the great force of the All Father himself. <br><br>She grabs the snarling beast by the nape of the neck and hurls him with such strength as to smash bone, and tree, when the two collid. Turning her attention to another, her mace seperates the lower section of their jaw with a mighty whirling strike. And she moves on, unaware that there's but one way to kill these creatures. The one she'd battered is already mending and the jaw of the second is snapping back into place. <br><br>Both pounce upon her. Though claw and fang do as little harm to her as did the swords and crossbows of the soldiers, it does ignite her mind to very real threat these things represent to any human soldier what might venture too close. <br><br>When she's dislodged her attackers, another leap brings her to Selene.. drenched in blood from countless fights, sweat, and rain.. she slaps her hair out of her face and gazes down the wall at the monstrocities baying at the literal gate. <br><br>"This reminds me of a great hunt, hundreds of years ago in the frozen Jutenheim.. Frost Giants are as hard to kill, but at least have the good sense to stay dead once you have..." As if her story required more proof, she holds out her hand and calls her magical blade to palm with a crack of thunder accompanied by no lightning. <br><br>Severing the arm off a Werewolve that gets over the stone balwark... it does not grow back. <br><br>Nor does its head. <br> <br>

:'''{{#var:2092|Selene Corvinus (2092)}} has posed:'''<br>Selene had seen a lot of things in the century she'd been 'alive', but this was her first God.<br><br>When Sif triumphantly lands upon the parapets defending the fortress walls, Selene is standing up from her knees where she'd just plunged her silver sword deep in to the chest cavity of one of the Lycans who'd scaled the building without the need of a ladder.<br><br>She sweeps her sword over the black dyed canvas of her armor's skirt and then looks to Lady Sif as she speaks of Frost Giants, and other battles before. The Vampire General is no longer wearing her own helmet, as it had come off further down the line of Death Dealers still peppering the line of enemies scaling the walls.<br><br>"Silver is the key." Selene says to Sif. "It prevents their flesh from restoring itself, and it numbs their bones from mending. It stops the virus that made them what they are--"<br><br>Another lunges over the edge of the wall and brings with it a flail that it wraps around Selene's silver sword with a metal clashing sound echoing out into the darkness of similar sounds of battle!<br><br>Selene spins around the Beast, letting it draw her in via the chain around her weapon's blade, only to spin in behind him and sink a silver dagger in to the back of its neck where the shining tip comes out the other side, gushing a dark ichor into the ambient light of the mostly dark world they're in tonight.<br><br>As the Lycan falls, Selene spins her dagger around and slips it back in to the belt around the waistline of her shining armor. She looks up again to Sif, as if to showcase how the beast doesn't rise again, after being impaled with Silver.<br> <br>

When it is hurled, not unlike a javalin, it returns to her hand along the same path that it took, skewering anything its path back to her out stretched grip. Only to swish around cutting low anything that dares to get within her killing square. <br><br>Which is really large given how far she can move in such a short scope of time. <br><br>"I see." Flinging the Lycan blood from the mystical blade at her side, she turns cold blue eyes across the battlefield with a pensive.. calculated expression to her gaze. "Well, we must end this conflict. Morning approaches rapidly and the soldiers are growing tired..." <br><br>A mighty kick sends a werewolve spiralling like a ball all the way back to the forest from which it originated. "I'm going --" Another massive creature lands upon her chest, pushing her backwards, back towards the thick mud of the moat with a werewolves scratching and clawing at her armor and face trying to get out anything vital. "Unhand me, fiend!" Holding its head beneath the knee deep water with a boot, while swinging her sword out to sever a pikemans throat who ventures too close. <br> <br>

"I don't think I need to tell you how to kill, Godly one." She adds with a faint smirk to the Asgardian moments before Sif is kicking the Werewolf across the battlefield.<br><br>Up the parapet, the black armored woman scales, to grasp on to the wooden flagpole that the castle's banner is flowing from, tattered by still proud. "There!" Selene shouts to the distance. "The Lycan leaders are there!" She shouts out to Sif. "Send them fleeing, and their forces will follow!"<br><br>She points off to the edge of the forest where three horses are lined up, all mounted by three figures in dark cloaks, with more ragged Lycan and Werewolf warriors running out of the forest all around them.<br><br>But Sif is put-upon by enemies, which leads to Selene joining her, dropping down to where she's been grappled with, only to draw her right crossbow, raise it up and fire three silver tipped bolts in to the creature's spine, lining it up from the mid back to the back of its neck with splashes of dark blood bursting from it!.<br><br>She can feel the dawn coming, it's a feeling every Vampire is aware of, as the ambient sunlight that grows on the horizon is like a pot of water preparing to boil.<br> <br>

Skewering and severing anything that gets closed... rags, armored, hairy, or human... <br><br>It matters not. <br><br>She's leading the charge with Selene to that trio. <br><br>"We end this now!" <br><br>With that, she leaps... clearing the distance to the horsemen to smash down into the ground with a battered, cut up mess of a creature in her grip dangling with bits of flesh and hair... Selene quickly mounting a war horse that had lost its rider at some point. She spurs the beast onward and charges after Sif, joining her on her left.<br><br>Of course, the Lycan Leaders are aware of this, and they start to sway their forces in the direction of the two fierce warrior women, to impede their approach, but they can tell the tide is turning in the favor of the Fortress...<br><br>And with Selene, and Sif, out in the fields themselves, the Death Dealers are starting to pour over the walls, leaping from them and lunging in to the fight to reinforce their General and take the fight to their enemies.<br><br>The hooded figure in the middle of the trio of riders grimaces and orders his remaining forces to defend him as the two riders on either side of him draw their hoods back and shake their bodies as they begin to pop and stretch, tearing their skeletons into Lycan-form...<br><br>The Leader himself? The glory that comes from killing such a leader would be great, but there are present threats that require immediate attention from the Goddess of War. Hurling a mangled body at a werewolve shield around the trio, the warrior rushes towards one of the mounted Lycan who jumps into the fray to meet her. <br><br>While Sif might be a great warrior, the Lycan are fierce in their own right. Especially their leadership, with years, decades even, of experience to guide their natural weapons. Kicking out the creatures legs, she attempts to severe his head, but it's gone before the blade can find purchase. Immediately beset by the massive beast clinging to her back until she slams him up against a tree with enough force to tear up some of the roots. <br><br>Hurled over her shoulder with a twist of her hips, she slaps hair from her face and cleaves another incoming werewolves (mindless) in two before it can even swipe at her. "COME THEN!" <br><br>Ready, willing. She charges again, a good distraction for the Death Dealers come to join the fight. <br> <br>

It pulled her from the horse she was on and sent her down in to the wet Earth where all the heavy feet of the soldiers had smashed the ground in to wet and muddy sludge!<br><br>The Werewolf was on the Vampire General, believe her to be easy prey, it set up on her its jaws snapping and its fangs desperate to sink in to Selene's body! Only it underestimated her strength as her legs were up and her armored legs kept the Werewolf off of her long enough for her to gain purchase with her left foot and send it up in to the stomach of the beast!<br><br>A silver spike lodges up in to the Werewolf's furry form, causing the beast to howl in pain as it leaps from the muddied Vampire's form! It bounds across the battlefield as Selene rolls on to her side to watch it go, her hair caked in mud and her white skin splashed in the filthy sludge.<br><br>She staggers back to her feet and turns to see Sif battling in the tree-line.<br><br>Soon the Death Dealer army comes to join the Warrior Women, chasing back the Lycan soldiers, with the sounds of howls and roars screaming past as they retreat with their leader.<br><br>Selene, swaying, leans down to pick up her swords from the muddy floor, and stomps her feet up the hillside toward where Sif is. "They're falling back." She says, now looking toward the other edges of the battle. "The sun is rising, however." She tells the Asgardian, now looking toward her. "My people and I will have to flee as well. Our job is... to see those Lycans through to their ends, every last one of them."<br> <br>

"Understood..." <br><br>Behind them the battle is dying out as well. <br><br>Without the Goddess fighting along side them, however, the Rebels seem to have been unable to hold the Castle. Blue eyes back upon Selene, "Thank you for your assistance.." <br><br>Pointing the sword after the Lycan, "If you've ever need of a sword to slew those monstrocities, I shall throw my sword amidst yours." The Lycans wanted the Fortress, they've been trying to seize strong holds like this, to crawl their way on to what they'd believe would be equal footing with the Vampires... it had to be stopped.<br><br>This was a unique scenario for Selene, for her people, and clearly for the Asgardian as well. Selene takes the offered hand, and shakes it via grasping the woman's forearm. "A pleasure." She says, in that sultry tone of voice, her hair stilled drenched in mud and water, her obsidian armor much the same.<br><br>"I look forward to it. Never have I fought with someone of your kind before. It won't be forgotten." She states.<br><br>Thundering hooves give tell of her people riding up behind her now, one of her Lieutenants holding the reigns of her armored horse. He speaks her name, and she turns to walk to the steed, to mount it and give orders to her soldiers.<br><br>Moments later and Selene is turning upon her horse and giving one last nod toward Sif. A nod of respect and admiration. Then, the General of the Vampires rides off in to the shadowy embrace of the forest where the Lycans had fled.<br> <br>
