Al Pratt was an auxiliary member of the Great Lakes Defenders. Born in 1914, Pratt was a skinny and physically weak young man. He started training in boxing under the great Joe Morgan and his protege James Harper. He became a proficient martial artist and developed a powerlifter physique.
Al volunteered to transfer to Steve Rogers' command when the Justice Defenders were formally activated. He served with distinction in Europe until 1941.
Al Pratt was killed by a German artillery shell near Bastogne. He is buried in the US Joint Forces cemetery in France.
