*2012: Not knowing who was in the stolen truck, ForgeTech leaders opted to detonate it. Evan was mortally wounded in the explosion.

*2012: Jamie Cooper outfits his mortally wounded, dying son with experimental biological-cybernetic enhancements to save his life.

*2014: Jamie Cooper develops an aggressive, severe cancer from his exposure to too much experimental technology. He is diagnosed and dies all within two weeks time. Evan inherits his father's lucrative patents. He returns to the United States to live with his aunt and uncle

Personality

Existential:
So much of Evan's insides have been replaced with cutting-edge, experimental, biological-cybernetic implants that it weighs on his mind heavily. He spends a lot of time wondering just how human he really is anymore. Externally, he is indistinguishable from a normal human but he knows that beneath the skin lurks priceless, near-alien technology.

Fierce, Fierce Friend:
In the unlikely event that Evan grows to trust someone and let them into his inner circle, they could neither ask for nor fiend a fiercer friend. His loyalty is absolute to those he cares for, and there is no price he is unwilling to pay to protect his loved-ones and friends.

Jaded:
Because of the rocky path his life has taken, Evan often expects the worst from people and from situations. This is not a sense of universal injustice. He definitely believes that people are innocent until proven guilty, but his jaded nature makes him assume that proving someone guilty won't be very difficult. Some few surprise him, and they gain a devoted friend.

Small Inner Circle:
So many of the people who Evan relied on and loved in his life either died or betrayed his trust or both. He is extremely slow to trust and to confide because those pathways in his brain are just muddled with past failure.

Character Sheet

Powers

Biological-Cybernetics:
Jamie Cooper, Evan's father, was developing highly experimental biological-cybernetics for ForgeTech Industries, which is a company that sells high-tech weaponry to private armies around the world without regard for their ideology. Ultimately the experiment was labeled a failure because the cost-per-solider was higher than any army was willing to pay. But hanging on the edge of death, Evan was fitted with them.

The cybernetics are strictly internal. From the outside, he is indistinguishable from a normal human. Of course, if he receives a major wound that opens up his body, his artificial parts might show through.

PHYSICAL ENHANCEMENTS: With physical parts throughout his body, Evan's enjoys increased speed, agility, strength, and even alertness. Because his movements are, in part, computer-assisted, he is able to get out of the way of fast-moving objects, even bullets. He is capable of lifting and throwing approximately 4,000 pounds of weight. He can run around 60 MPH on foot, and leap 100 feet in the air.

COMBAT PROWESS: The programming of his implants combined with his enhanced strength and agility make Evan a formidable opponent. He hits like a truck and moves light a lightning bolt. The combat circuitry also makes his attacks more accurate.

SUBDERMAL ARMOR: Bullets and even small explosions can't substantially damage Evan.

SENSORS: Evan can see in the infrared spectrum. He also can communicate two-way over virtually any radio frequency, even encrypted frequencies.

INTERNAL SYSTEMS: Evan can circulate oxygen internally for up to 60 minutes at a time. During that time he does not need to breath and is immune to any inhaled toxins. His cybernetic systems are also capable of dealing with toxins in his blood. While he is not immune to blood-born poisons, he is highly resistant to them.

WALL SCALING: Because of his strength, Evan can climb sheer surfaces. However, he is basically piercing the surface with his fingers and toes, so the process always damages the surface and leaves a trail.

SWINGING: Evan has a monofilament line and grapple that he launches from his arm. It doesn't allow the dexterous, fast, long-distance movement of a certain web slinger, but it does allow him to cross large gaps that are too wide to jump across, or rapidly rise up to a higher vantage point assuming he can find a surface that the grapple can gain purchase on.

Skills

Computer Skills:
Evan has a B.S. in Computer Science and an M.S. in Data Science from NYU. He has professional, expert-level computer, network, and data skills.

Perception:
Evan is very alert, with exceptional eyesight, hearing, and smell. He notices even very small details, and sneaking up on his is a challenge.

Steath & Acrobatics:
Although he has enhanced strength, Evan's main tactical skills are stealth and acrobatics. He is capable of moving nearly silently under the right circumstances (particularly when wearing the Wraith armor). He's also very practiced at leaps, flips, twists, and the like, all aided by his enhanced physical abilities.

Resources

Throwing Knives:
Evan's weapon of choice is the throwing knife. He makes them himself and carries several in his Wraith armor. His internal combat computer combined with his enhanced physical strength makes him potentially quite deadly with them, though he goes to great lengths not to kill unless avoidably necessary.

Wealth:
When his father, Jamie, died, Evan inherited all of his patents and wealth. Some of the patents are extremely lucrative and bring in enormous royalty payments every month. He is a multimillionaire, though he does not live a millionaire's lifestyle. Many probably assume he is wealthy, but there is no real outward display of it.

Wraith Armor:
The Wraith armor is a nearly all-black suit of head-to-armor that is matte colored and designed to diffuse light. The suit also can implement a reactive camouflage mode, taking on the hues and colors and shadows of the surrounding environment.

Weaknesses

Code of Honor:
Although he is a bit rough-and-tumble, Evan has a code of honor. He believes it is his responsibility to make up for all of the horror, death, and pain that his father's inventions brought into the world. He feels it is an appropriate irony to use technology his father created to right the wrongs that Jamie Cooper made. He will make honorable and right decisions even to his own detriment.

Forgetech Industries:
Evan's deceased father, Jamie Cooper, was a founding member of ForgeTech Industries as well as their Chief Science Officer. Jamie put expensive, experimental, unique technology inside Evan's body. While Jamie was still alive, ForgeTech tolerated this insult. Now that he is dead, if ForgeTech made the decision to "recall their property" they would have no compunction to come at Evan with everything within their considerable capabilities to bring him in, dead or alive.

Power Supply:
Evan's most substantial weakness is his internal power supply. While it is quite well-protected and hardened against EMP blasts and the like, it could theoretically be knocked loose by a sufficiently powerful blast (though, in truth, such a blast would likely kill Evan anyway). If he were rendered helpless, someone with sufficient technical savvy could disconnect the power supply or otherwise disable it. Without power, he's just a regular dude.

Secret Identity:
Evan must keep his identify as Wraith a closely guarded secret. At the moment, ForgeTech does not have a need to "recall their property" and bring Evan in dead or alive to retrieve the tech from him. But if they found out he was masquerading around as a vigilante, they surely would send a grab team after him.
