Character Info
Profile
A red panda mutate hailing from the Himalayan foothills, Kiari Song is a fresh arrival to New York City that wants to learn as much as she wants to defend people. In addition to being a mutate, other noted traits are her agility, bursts of speed, and the bladed tonfas she uses as weapons in both defensive and offensive ways. Her curiosity keeps her outgoing and well spirited, even in a world where what she looks like gets her more insults than anything else.

Personality
Personality:
Kiari Song is someone new to the wide world. She knows she's out of place, but the first thing
she wants out of the world is to learn about it. She is curious, she roams wanting to learn, and the
first thing most people will get out of her are questions. A lot of questions. It could be annoying
sure, but she's a very curious creature that wants to learn and understand more than anything else.
Thanks to that she comes off as outgoing, energetic, and even a little impatient to the point of
getting frustrated when she has trouble understanding certain, and far more complex topics. That
frustration is just a symptom of being a bit of a perfectionist, instilled by the training she
received early on in her new life as a sentient being.
From the early years in the Himalayan
foothills, to her travel to New York city, her wanderlust continues to pull her ever onward.
Thankfully, NYC has become a rather big 'bump' in that road. There's a lot to do and people to run
into! She just wishes, down deep, that more people could understand she's not some kind of freak or
monster. She's just a new soul wanting to help when she can. Discovering the darkness in the world
wasn't much of a surprise, having heard of it before, but to see it before her placed in her a kind
of determination not easily snuffed out. She wants to help NYC conquer its demons. There's just...
you know, a LOT of them.
Character Sheet
Powers
Bursts of Speed:
An extension of her agility is Kiari's ability to move -very- quickly in short bursts. While she
cannot maintain this speed for more than a few seconds at a time, she's fully able hit 60 mph in the
blink of an eye before having to let up. She has 2 or 3 bursts like this before she'll need some
time to catch her breath.
Enhanced Agility:
Continued exposure to the mutagen where Kiari lived allowed her agility to rise to an
exceptional level. With her reflexes and agility combined, Kiari's more than capable of stepping out
of the path of bullets, deflecting them with her weapons, or as her training pushed her to achieve,
dance through the rain and stay dry.
Red Panda Mutate:
Turned into a sentient being thanks to the substance called mutagen, Kiari Song was one of a
group of mutates out around the Himalayan foothills. The benefits? Sentient life, language,
learning, all those things humans enjoy for free. It was the added exposure to the 'Emerald Water'
that gained her sharpened senses, survival instincts, sharp reflexes, plus a couple that were
heightened even further.
Skills
Martial Arts Training:
Learning about the world from humans first hand came with a requirement. Learning the methods
her benefactors used to be at peace with the world. Martial arts can be used to defend, to fight,
but they're just a way of maintaining oneself, their fitness, and can be an extension of the agility
she has. She didn't even know how good she was with these until her first fight! It was way too
easy. Go figure.
Survivalist:
From her first days, Kiari's known how to survive in the wild, and those instincts haven't
faded. She can fend for herself in the wilderness indefinately if the need should ever
arise.
Tonfa Training:
A gift from her early benefactors, the tonfas Dusk and Dawn are the only weapons Kiari carries,
but are used in a multitude of ways for both offense and defense thanks to her powers. Whatever
they're made of is solid stuff. They never seem to be damaged after a fight! They even said they
have 'hidden' abilities but to this day she hasn't been told what they are.
Resources
Attic Abode:
When she left China, Kiari's benefactors gave her an address in New York City. One of their own
that would accommodate her and keep her training going once she arrived. This is where she gets her
food, sleep, and other simple amenities in life.
Odd-Jobs:
Money makes the world go around, and the way Kiari finds her funds are through the computer at
home. She's rooted in the gig economy and does a lot of delivering, among other things, to be able
to support her curiosities in life. Thankfully with a roof provided, most of it is disposable
income.
Tonfas:
Equality in all things. That's what Kiari's two tonfas, Dawn and Dusk, are meant to represent,
with one made of a darker metal, and the other a lighter one, these two weapons are typically at her
back, at her sides, or somewhere easily accessible for when needed. Each of them are bladed and are
extremely resilient to damage. Thanks to her agility, and their sharper-than-a-razor's edge, these
can cut nearly anything and block nearly the same things.
Weaknesses
Impatient:
Waiting does not come easily to Kiari, nor does having to work according to a plan. She's the
sort that wants to move in, get things done, and get along to the next thing. She can work in a
group, sure but don't cramp her style. She'll probably do her own thing either way.
Light-Sensitive:
Some heroes work in the day, some work at night, some work 24 hours when they need to. Kiari
prefers the night, often behind shades during the day, and rarely going out at dusk and dawn. Why?
Vision. Shades help during the day, and she can see fine at night, but her vision gets all kind of
confused during dusk and dawn hours. As a result, things like flash bangs and light based powers can
really get the better of her.
Perfectionist:
The other half of her coin of issues. The reason she can't really do plans! If she comes up with
a plan, or decides to actually go along with one, if every step isn't meticulously carried out and
successful? Problem. Screw the plan. Work off the cuff. It is just easier that way anyway! Plans
never last! Being like this is great for training but in the real world it works against Kiari far
more often than it helps.
