The Vault Prison

Also known as 'The Ice Box', The Vault is a supermax detention facility for the most highly aggressive and most dangerous metahuman offenders. The facility is self-contained and well-hidden in the mountains above Barrow, Alaska. Inmates sleep in plastic 'pods' suspended over the common area below. Heavily armed guards are stationed at inaccessible elevations and there are few means of ingress or egress available.

Like other metahuman supermax facilities, the Ice Box is plagued with complaints of prisoner abuse and mistreatment. Mass punishment for infractions is not uncommon, such as disabling the geothermal heaters or even forcing the arctic winds through the facility's air systems.
