Tian
Tian is the "Seat of Heaven", the realm wherein resides the gods of China collectively known as [[[Tianxia]]].
China in particular has a complex and fragmented polytheism due to the independent nature of many of the [[[New Gods]]]. Groups of particular import include the Eight Immortals, Three Pure Ones, and the Five Emperors and Three Sovereigns. Deep veneration for ancestors has produced a harmony for souls in Tian that can elevate much revered predecessors to the point that they become minor deities themselves, such as the Yellow Emperor.
[[[The Seven Capital Cities of Heaven]]] are the most potent domains in the greater demesne of Tian. The peerage of these cities and the power of their deities is determined by success in a great tournament held once every 88 years.
[[[Sun Wukong]]], the Monkey King, is a trickster deity who appears frequently in Chinese history.
[[[Zhulong]]] the Red Dragon chiefly oversees the spirits associated with animal presences, including the other dragons.
