Timeline

Timeline:
* 1977 - Simon is born to wealthy industrialist Sanford Williams and Martha Williams in Paterson, New Jersey. He has one older brother, Eric.
* 1994 - Simon graduates high school. Not being particularly athletic or popular, his high school years were spent being studious. Particularly fascinated with electronics and theatre.
* 1998 - Simon graduates from NYU.
* 1999 - Simon's father dies, Eric has no interest in taking the reigns of the business, so Simon steps up.
* 2002 - After losing out on several contracts with the US Department of Defense to Stark Industries, Williams Innovative begins to flounder. Simon's brother Eric convinces him to begin embezzling funds for investment in less than legal enterprises. A few months later, Simon's crimes are discovered and he is arrested.
* 2003 - Facing a heavy prison sentence, Simon is released by the combined efforts of Amora the Enchantress and Victor Von Doom. He agrees to undergo experimentation to repay his debt of gratitude.
* 2004 - Through a combination of chemical and ionic energy treatments designed to plumb into the depths of Doom's Metagene research, Simon is imbued with incredible strength and durability. Wonder Man is born.
* 2005 - Sent to infiltrate and betray The Fantastic Four, Wonder Man has a crisis of conscience and reneges on his deal with Doom, saving them from the trap he'd led them into. Without the Doctor's antidote to save him from the negative effects of his treatments, Wonder Man dies a martyr.
* 2010 - Simon's body is exhumed by CADMUS and research continues on it. It's revealed that he's still very much alive, but in a coma; his body sustaining itself wholly on ionic energy. Through continued experiments, Wonder Man's mind is restored to consciousness. Limiters placed within his genome by Doom are unknowingly removed, bringing him back stronger than ever. Rattled by this experience, Simon escapes CADMUS custody.
* 2012 - In his first public appearance since his "death", Wonder Man assists in repelling the Alien Alliance Invasion. Wanting to define himself outside of superheroism, however, he decides to try his hand at an acting career.
* 2015 - Gets his first big break portraying Superman in the film "Justice Rising" a live-action adaptation of the invasion. Beginning of Wonder Man's commercial success. First release of limited edition Wonder Man-branded athletic line. Sunglasses line launches later that year.
* 2018 - After several years of balancing his acting career with his crime fighting, Wonder Man once again joins the fray to help defend New York from Loki's attack.
* 2019 - Preproduction begins on "Avenge This!" starring Simon as Captain Steve Rogers with hopes to launch a new franchise. Wonder Man continues to be a crime fighting presence in New York City, but has refused offers to join any teams as of yet.

Cocky:
Simon is, above all else, very sure of himself. After escaping the clutches of CADMUS and beginning to train his powers in earnest, he realized that he was capable of truly spectacular feats. Add that to the acclaim that he's received as an actor, and he's definitely developed somewhat of an ego.

Headstrong:
Being effectively invincible has no shortage of benefits. But that 'effectively' is very important. Simon can tank hits that would floor most other heroes, but he does have his weaknesses. Still, he's immune to enough that he rarely lends any creedence to the fact that he can and often does get hurt.

Stalwart:
While on the surface, Simon may seem like just another selfish, self-centered jerk (which he kind of is), but deep down he's loyal to the people he loves, he's not afraid to do a hard day's work, and he won't refuse a call for help.

Energy Manipulation:
Wonder Man is capable of channeling his ionic energies in such a way that he can fire bolts of it from his hands and eyes as projectiles. He can also sheath his hands in it to add an extra oomph to his strikes. As it makes up his entire body, he exhibits great control over its power. He can use it for minute tasks such as popping a lock off of a door, and for harder hitting things such as just blasting down the wall around said door. It's upper limits are capable of melting through steel and its range is around 100 yards.

Flight:
Manipulating the energy that courses through his body, Simon can fly, but he's only comfortable doing so at subsonic speeds.

Invulnerability:
As his body is less akin to skin and bone and more like ionized organic matter, Wonder Man is incredibly resistant to physical injury. He can survive high-altitude falls, high-caliber bullets ricochet right off of him, and he can even shrug off the intense heat of re-entering the Earth's atmosphere.

Ionic Physiology:
After the experiments done on his body to awaken the unusually potent Metagene within his genome, Simon's entire body became suffused with ionic energy. He no longer ages, he doesn't require food or water, he cannot procreate, and he has no real organs of which to speak.

Super Stamina:
Due to the nature of his unique ionic physiology, Simon is immune to growing fatigued.

Super Strength:
Simon is in possession of extraordinary superhuman strength. Level with a Kryptonian, Wonder Man has lifted well in excess of one hundred tons.

Skills

Acting:
While he's not one of the all-time great thespians, Simon's on-screen performances are often lauded, and he's even got his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He also does all of his own stunts and rarely needs the assistance of CG. Except to fix his eyes in post, of course.

Combat:
Even without his powers, Simon can hold his own in a fight. He's picked up a lot of experience fighting crime all over the world.

Electrical Engineering:
It's what he went to school for. While he hasn't used his education very much in his life, it's still there and he can work wonders with a soldering iron.

Gifted:
While he's not anywhere near the great minds of the day, Wonder Man is capable of making solid snap judgements. He's got too much self doubt to be relied upon to make any sort of battle plan, though.

Avengers:
While he's never joined in any official capacity, Simon has often worked alongside the New York-based superhero team. There's goodwill there.

Famous:
Being well-known opens a lot of doors. He can often get into just about any place he'd like to with a promise of an autograph. He carries a few headshots on his person at all times.

The People:
Simon Williams is, for the most part, well-liked by the general populace. He's in big, popular movies, he donates to many charities, and he's a legit superhero. His fanbase, in particular, would likely help him out in any way they can.

Wealthy:
Simon Williams is a very successful Hollywood actor. As the leading man in several billion dollar franchises, he throws his weight around and makes sure he gets paid what he thinks he's owed. Couple that with his many sponsorships and clothing lines and it means that he does not want for much at all.

Weaknesses

Energy Weaponry:
Wonder Man is incredibly vulnerable to any sort of energy weaponry. Bullets bounce right off of him, but a sustained enough blast from a ray gun could leave him completely dispersed, effectively killing him.

Famous:
The other side of the coin. It is almost impossible for Wonder Man to go anywhere without being noticed. He is not the guy you pick for your stealthy infiltrations.

Hotheaded:
Simon's got a temper and it's a big one. While he would never attack any of his friends, he's been known to lash out at them from time to time.

Self-Doubt:
Simon's early life was full of pitfalls. He ran his father's company into the ground, he was arrested in his early twenties, he allowed himself to work against the interests of heroes, etc. He knows that he can't always be trusted to make the right call, and it eats at him constantly.
