Born Dorrek VIII, Teddy Altman is the son of Skrull royalty, and is a Kree-Skrull hybrid. His grandfather, the then-ruler of the Skrull Empire, ordered Teddy's death when he learned that his grandson was half Kree. His biological mother, Princess Anelle, faked his death and surreptitiously sent him to Earth to live in secret among the humans.
Timeline

Timeline:
* 2002: Princess Anelle, the daughter of the rulers of the Skrull empire, falls in love with a past version of Captain Marvel, who was a Kree agent.
* 2003: Teddy is born as Dorrek VIII in the Skrull empire. He is the son of the Kree agent and Princess Anelle.
* 2003: Dorrek VII learns that his grandson is half Kree, and orders his death. Anelle sends her trusted nursemaid to secret her son away to Earth and hide him there.
* 2003: Assuming the alias Mary-Jo Altman, Princess Anelle's nursemaid poses as Dorrek VIII's mother, and gives him the name Theodore "Teddy" Rufus Altman.
* 2017: Teddy begins using his shapeshifting powers to mimic the physique of an athlete in his high school named Greg Norris. He eventually reveals to Greg that he is a shapeshifter.
* 2019: While out exploring with Teddy, Greg starts to loot and vandalize. Teddy stands up to him and demands he stop. The friendship between the two ends.
* 2020: Teddy assumes the codename of Hulkling as a portmanteau of Hulk (because he is green and strong) and changeling (because he can morph his shape).

Cautious:
Teddy knows that there are many entities in both the Kree and Skrull empires who would, if they knew Teddy was still alive, take him to use as a political pawn to further their own ends. He tends to be careful about who he trusts and who he shares his history with. 'When in doubt, shut 'em out,' tends to be his approach to strangers.
Courageous:
The lionhearted young paladin is strong in the face of danger. For his friends, innocent strangers, or those in need he is gallant, gutsy, and strong. He will quickly put himself in harm's way if the cause is just.
Guileless:
There is not one ounce of trickery or duplicity in Teddy. He asks for what he wants and says what he means. In a world full of political intrigue and distrustfulness, he tends to perform poorly.
Honest:
Teddy is honest to a fault and expects the same from others. For him, telling a lie is a sheer act of will and discomfort and thus he almost always gives away his deceit.
Romantic:
Teddy is a sensitive and emotional romantic. This is not exclusive to matters of sexuality. He can fall in love with a beloved pair of bluejeans or a favorite tea mug or a family pet. But, too, he tends to develop crushes on guys and girls. When he does, he dives in head first and often ends up hurt.

Enhanced Healing:
He can regenerate injured tissue and brain cells at a remarkable pace, even while unconscious or near death. As noted under Kree-Skrull Physiology, Teddy is all but totally immune to poisons and diseases.
Kree-Skrull Physiology:
Teddy has inherited powers from both his Kree and his Skrull heritage. The fusion of the two lines has enhanced some of his powers.
Pheromone/Toxin/Disease Immunity: Teddy's physiology renders him immune to pheromone-based powers, particularly those that attempt to control and manipulate him. He likewise resist most toxins and poisons, as well as virtually any Earthly disease.
Stamina: Teddy can go several days without sleeping or eating. He can push himself physically for hours or even days before he needs to rest.
Strength: Teddy's dense, hybrid body grants him potent physical strength. He can lift and throw upwards of 75 tons.
Durability: Teddy's skin and anatomical structures are far denser and thicker than a human's. He can resist great amounts of pain and injury and endure massive injuries such as falls from great heights, combat with super-powered beings, energy attacks, etc. without sustaining injury. Common bullets, blades, melee weapons, and the like are largely irrelevant to him.
Shape-Shifting:
Teddy is a changeling of remarkable ability. He can assume the form of even well-known public figures with stunning detail. He also is capable of growing claws, elongating his limbs to increase his reach, and growing wings and other appendages.
Flight: Teddy commonly grows wings using his shapeshifting powers, and can propel himself through the air.
Subconscious Shifting: Teddy's body can subconsciously react to different environments and situations, allowing himself to adapt his physiology even while unconscious. For example, he might subconsciously change color to blend into an environment or shift his biomass to protect vital organs.

Athletic:
Although he won't compete athletically because of his powers, Teddy is a talented athlete. He loves to run and engage in physical activities. Pick-up games of softball or frisbee with his friends are some of his favorite activities. He will sometimes to on runs to clear his head, and due to his Kree-Skrull physiology those runs often last for hours.
Social Skills:
Teddy puts the well-being and interests of others first. He is genuinely interested in others, and as such he enjoys a diverse set of social skills. Now that he is out of high school an in college, he has less opportunity for socialization, however.

Middle Class:
Teddy is being raised by a single real estate agent mother who is specifically attempting to keep a low profile. The two make ends meet just fine but there isn't much extra, especially now that Teddy is in college. But if an important need should arise, Teddy's mom often "moves money around" and comes up with something to help.
Weaknesses

Alien:
Teddy is an alien. He is, quite simply, not human. Any technology or magic that can reveal such things will out him easily.
Honor:
His code of honor is nearly absolute. Using his abilities for selfish personal gain or to harm others is unthinkable to Teddy. Only the most extreme circumstances would cause Teddy to break his code, and only in the service of a cause greater than himself. He would certainly sacrifice his own life before he defied his sense of personal honor and integrity.
Hunted:
Princess Anelle faked Teddy's death and sent him to Earth to hide. But should the Kree or the Skrull find out that Teddy still lives, they would spare no resource to retrieve him and use him as a tool and study his unique physiology.
