Transporting a Vampire
Date of Scene: 08 June 2024
Location: Brooklyn
Synopsis: Mary Seward gets a snack in the form of a good bit of Candace's blood.
Cast of Characters: Mary Seward, Candace Hill

Mary Seward has posed:
Mary Seward stands on a street corner mindlessly tapping away on her phone. She got Uber on her phone recently. Never had it before, never needed it before. She wants to get somewhere, she's got plenty of supernatural means to do so for free...

This was less out of need for a ride somewhere, and more of a...food delivery. Entering whatever random address in Brooklyn as her drop-off point, so some poor soul could come by, pick her up and accidentally consign themselves to being her meal. Mostly something to do when the streets were pretty bare at night. Messy work, but it works.

She waits and waits, eyeing how much longer the app says it will take her dinner-...driver to get here.

Candace Hill has posed:
The Uber rolls up. In this case it is a red Chevy Tahoe. The driver seems pretty happy for the most part. The night is a mostly a nice one. The air is cool but not cold. There is a gentle breeze blowing making things feel very nice. The girl who happens to be driving has her window down as she takes in the night air. The occasional fire fly can be seen as it is just the start of the season for them.

"Hello, I'm your Uber Driver." Candace states as she awaits Mary to enter her car. She looks at the address, 1 East 161st Street? Going to see the Yankees? I didn't think they were in town tonight." She comments as she awaits the Vampire to enter her car.

Mary Seward has posed:
"Huh?" Mary looks up from her phone, at her driver's announcement.. "Oh, yeah, love the Yankees. Love em'. Baseball."

She makes no effort to hide her British accent. It's probably not too unbelievable that she likes the Yankees, right?

She slides into the Tahoe, leaning back in her seat.

"...Roomy." She smirks, amused.

Candace Hill has posed:
Candace starts driving. She smiles in the rear view mirror. "That makes a lot of sense. A lot of people from other countries come to New York City to see the Yankees play. They are a good team. Or so I've heard. I don't exactly follow them. My passions lie in driving and being an activist." She comments as she starts towards the Bronx.

"Yeah its definitely roomy. A friend left it to me when they passed away. Its been my baby since." She smiles and keeps going. "So the trip will take about forty minutes. About twenty miles." She smiles. "So how are you this evening?" She asks as she happily drives along. "Tonight is absolutely lovely. I love nights like this."

Mary Seward has posed:
"Oh, I'm doing fine. I'm fine." Mary's hand goes over her forehead. She was not expecting this one to be a talker. Looks like she's now obligated to do the unbearable thing and indulge in small-talk. Might as well. She's only a little hungry now. It's a forty-minute drive. Why not give herself something to keep her entertained while she works up the appetite?

"Me too. A real night owl, I am...Hate mornings, though."

Candace Hill has posed:
Candace smiles and keeps moving. "Some nights are just not good. Like when its really rainy or snow. Snow is the worst sometimes. Its always a challenge to drive through that stuff. Thankfully this time of year we doing need to worry about that." She makes a turn and starts driving north.

"So what brought you to the States?" She asks the obviously British woman as she keeps going? "It couldn't have been just the Yankees!" She laughs as she keeps going. "Lemme guess? American food! New York style Pizza is where its at after all."

Mary Seward has posed:
Mary seems to tilt her head away. She didn't really care to listen to the spiel about the weather. "...Yeah, the food here was a draw." She felt so amused with herself on the double meaning Candace wouldn't catch up to.

"Really, I think there's just a lot to do here...So much going on in this country of yours. It's fun. I feel like a local already."

Candace Hill has posed:
"Yeah? That's really cool. A lot of countries look down on the USA because of how our food is. Some of it is a little sugary or fatty but its really good stuff." She smiles as she stops at a stop light. "Try some of the southern foods. Stuff like Gumbo and Jambalaya are to die for!" She smiles happily, possibly using the worst turn of phrase she could.

She nods, "That is true. There is so much to do, especially in the city. There are clubs and museums and just so much stuff to do. I dunno if there is as much to do in like Gotham but Metropolis has some pretty good stuff going on too. Honestly I'd be a little afraid to go out at night in Gotham. I know Batman keeps things under control mostly but it still seems pretty dangerous." She doesn't let on about her own abilities. That would be a super awkward conversation to be sure.

Mary Seward has posed:
Before this, the vampire was only half-paying attention to the conversation...But, that enhanced hearing of hers is able to pick up Gotham. Batman, soon after. It makes her stir. Suddenly, her mood takes a turn for the sour.

"...I stopped by Gotham once. Saw Batman even."

She turns towards Candace.

"He's an asshole. An unbelievable asshole...him and all those freaks that follow them..."So much spite in her words.

"...You didn't hear it from me, though."

Candace Hill has posed:
"Oh yeah? I never met Batman. Don't think I met any of his friends either." She comments as she considers the whole thing. Is she being honest? No. Is she a good liar at least. She's not terrible at it. "In order to deal with some of the stuff they do, like the Joker and such, I think someone would have to be like that sadly." She smiles and nods. "Don't worry your secret is safe with me." She laughs as she keeps driving.

"I've met a few interesting people while driving. You never know who you are going to be driving around in New York City. One time I had a billionaire in my Uber. That was a really interesting day." She smiles as she keeps going. "You never know who is going to need a ride. It makes things interesting, thats for sure."

Mary Seward has posed:
She settles down when the topic comes off of Batman, reclining against her seat.

"Am I interesting, then? I'd like to think I am, but I need you to say it first..." She leans in.

"Come on, out with it. My ego is in your hands."

Candace Hill has posed:
Candace smiles and nods, "Yeah I think you are interesting. Its always interesting to talk to foreigners who come to America." She smiles as she continues driving. "Where are you from anyway? I can't place your accent." She grins as she keeps going. "But yeah, you are a young woman who is attractive, Mysterious. That always makes for an interesting mix."

Mary Seward has posed:
"London. Good ol' London."

She can't help but snort at being called young. "Oh, I'm attractive. That's good. Keep it coming..."

She looks out the window.

Candace Hill has posed:
"Ah London. I have never been out of the USA. I would love to see it someday though. I would love to hear Big Ben ring and to see the Elizabeth Tower. That would be really something. I'd like to try some of the foods over there too. Like fish and chips. I somehow get the feeling that the stuff we have here isn't the same."

At the snort she can't help but smile. "What are you not young? If you are not young you certainly don't look older. You are attractive, you are intelligent, and you seem like a really nice person. Some people I have driven have told me point blank to shut up and drive. I understand wanting to ride in silence but there is no reason to be rude. I mean, come on, I didn't do anything to warrant being told to shut up."

Mary Seward has posed:
"Now, if only everyone was bright enough to see me the way you do."

Candace was starting to grow on her. Even if it was mostly through feeding her ego. She was considering just killing the girl...Now, she was leaning more on the side of turning her. A little gift for being so pleasant.

"...Sounds like a bunch of assholes..."

Candace Hill has posed:
"You mean some people don't see the obvious? Thats a shame. I am only commenting on what I have seen so far. You have shown yourself to be intelligent and you seem nice. You are clearly attractive and you definitely don't look that old."

She laughs a little. "Yeah, I get all sorts in here. Honestly I'd rather deal with the occasional asshole than some of the more sloppy types. Sometimes I get early morning calls where its people needing rides home from bars. I've had to clean vomit out of my car enough that I've started a petition to get funding for upholstery cleaning from Uber because of how frequently that happens. Its not fun."

Mary Seward has posed:
"If I were you, I'd kill them." She jokes...Half-jokes.

"...Would blood be harder to wash out than vomit? Just wondering."

Candace Hill has posed:
"I've had some of that too. Someone called an uber instead of an Ambulance. Turns out an Uber is cheaper than insurance co-pay for an ambulance. I drove them to the hospital but I told Uber I wouldn't do that type of drive again. It took me an hour of scrubbing with Peroxide to get the blood out of the upholstery. It was brutal but I managed."

Mary Seward has posed:
"I'll say."

A shame that she couldn't be there.

"...You know...I'm something of an activist myself."

Candace Hill has posed:
The uber starts rolling again. "Oh yeah? What do you fight for?" She asks curiously. "I tend to protest for the rights of people who don't have them. Like Mutants, some Metas, Aliens and just about any others. I can't stand seeing people's rights being trampled on like that. We all have a right to live. A right to exist. People who oppose that are just the worst." Candace comments as she keeps driving.

Mary Seward has posed:
"Oh, you know...Basically the same...I know what oppression looks like first hand...and I'm working to stop it..."

She tilts her head.

"You know, I'm in this group...of like-minded freedom fighters like me...We're always looking for new members. Some fresh blood...for our cause."

Candace Hill has posed:
"Oh yeah. That sounds very noble. I am always looking to fight for the rights of others. I might be interested. Tell me more about it?" She asks as she continues driving. The stadium can be seen not too far ahead of them now. Time has definitely been flying.

Mary Seward has posed:
Well...Looks like it was time. The bait has been caught.

"...Stop the car for a moment. If you'd please."

There's a bit of a flash in her eyes as she says that, looking into Candace's own. Something alluring...Something compelling.

Candace Hill has posed:
Candace looks in the mirror and sees those eyes. There is something in those eyes. Something that says she should be alarmed but its calming... Inviting. She nods and does as she is told It is after all, Mary's ride. She can ask for the car to be stopped if she wants. She pulls over off the road so as not to hold up traffic. "There we go." She smiles and turns to look at the Queen of Blood. "Is there anything else I can do for you?" She asks curiously.

Mary Seward has posed:
"Yep..." She leans in, her lips parting to reveal her fangs. As her eyes continue to glow.

"...Hold still."

She goes for Candace's neck.

Candace Hill has posed:
Candace doesn't know what to do. All she knows is that in her mind she is supposed to listen. She has to listen. That is what those burning eyes are telling her. She holds still as Mary goes for her neck. Everything inside her says this isn't right. But her mind is pounding that this is right. What can she do? Follow her instincts or follow her mind? Is it too late for her? What is happening anyway?

Mary Seward has posed:
Mary Seward plunges her fangs in, and tastes Candace's blood. It's got a kick to it.

After all that waiting to get herself just hungry enough she drinks. More and more of this poor driver's blood.

But, it's not all too bad, in Mary's mind. She plans on making this girl a vampire. Immortality just for free, for being such a lovely driver.

Candace Hill has posed:
Candace gasps as her neck is bitten and blood is drained from her. "I... I don't..." She doesn't complete the sentence. She can't. She is still under Mary's spell. She feels a little woozy from it all. Part of her is fighting to stay awake. The other part is wanting to just give in. Her eyes flare with energy but even that fades away as she is being drained.

Mary Seward has posed:
A hand goes up to Candace's cheek. Almost a small comfort from her.

...and if she's not stopped. She'll keep drinking, and drinking...till Candace's human life comes to an end.

Candace Hill has posed:
Candace doesn't snap out of it. She is completely enthralled by the hypnotic gaze of Mary. No. What saves her is something else. A Beat Cop happens to be walking by when he spies what looks like a make out session in the SUV. He rolls his eyes.

*Knock Knock Knock*

"Alright you two break it up. If you are going to be doing this sort of thing get a room. We can't have it done in public in the back of a car. Understood?" The cop comments as he knocks again, trying to break things up.

Mary Seward has posed:
Mary pulls away. "...Should've had you stop somewhere more private." She got too invested in the conversation." She steps out of the car. "Alright, copper.." Well, she wasn't finished feeding...and she's still a bit hungry...

Her hand goes on the officer's throat. With her strength and speed, he's dragged with her in an instant away from the tahoe.. Like that, he's her snack for the night now.
