Cast of Characters: | Natasha Romanoff, Brian Braddock
|
- Natasha Romanoff has posed:
It's always rather chaotic keeping up with operations across the ocean. The Pacific has it's kaiju, the Antarctic has it's Savage Land, and Europe has the chaotic mess that is Otherworld. Otherworld mostly falls over into the hands of WAND, but with how anarchic it can be, there can be spillover that the rest of them hvae to deal with. Whether it is Merlin scheming for plans that have run for centuries or millenia, or whatever it is.
Sometimes one just needs a briefing. And so, otherwise Natasha has out several papers, looking irritated over at transcriptios of children's rhymes
- Brian Braddock has posed:
The classic British suit accentuates the physique of the wearer and communicates authority. It basically is a cavalry officer's outfit made for civilians. It has a strong structure with a stiff interlining that is military uniform inspired, and a hallmark of the British suit. Padded shoulders, a stiffer canvas, as well as waist suppression, everything is properly fitted, without looking too tight.
On Brian Braddock's 6'6", 257 lb athletic frame, well, people would be forgiven if they didn't immediately think that he was a doctoral candidate. Arriving in the Triskelion, wearing a blue-gray, heavier on the blue, vertically lined in silver, English style suit, Brian Braddock held a black leather briefcase in one hand, and stopped to check his watch in the other, a silver one, probably a Rolox knowing him. "Agent Romanoff?" He asked in a posh English accent, honed from years of private schooling, as he gazed upon the irritated woman currently hovering over a pipe of papers.
- Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanova would turn over to Brian as he would approach her, and she would go to set things over to the side and dip her head over, "Captain. What brings you to the States?" It's not like it was particularly difficult to go - when one could fly, had magic, or just a private plane to come and go. "No more issues with Mys-Tek munitions having been recovered?" A particularly nasty thing that was. Natasha would turn to face him.
"Or are you here on a specific assignment?" She would query - already ready to adapt in case he was here to advise them of a more pressing threat.
- Brian Braddock has posed:
His lips parted when she turned to address him, before he caught himself, closing them once more. "Orders from London, I'm afraid," and he moved, with military like precision, and curiously a quiet footprint for someone of his size, setting the briefcase down on the table, in a rare space that was clear from her papers, so that he could undo the combination lock. It actually included a fingerprint scanner on it, but it was cleverly disguised to be part of the briefcase. Opening it up, there was a small tablet computer, a few papers, envelopes, and one in particular on top. He pulled it out, handing it to her, in such a way that for a brief moment, his fingers brushed against hers, "I've been assigned as STRIKE's liaison to SHIELD, provided the local administration will accept my qualifications." Such matters were as much diplomatic as they were strategic.
- Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanova would nod over at Brian, "Very well. Is there anything up which requires more direct coordination?" First things - see if this was merely preventatory or there was another crisis coming up along the line (or already going) that they were playing catchup to. "And good to have you with us here then, Captain. Your presence will definitely be useful. Hopefully not needed." But it was alwasy good to have a flying brick on your side.
- Brian Braddock has posed:
"Oh, there's the usual, one of the Dragons of the Crimson Dawn was tracked crossing the Canadian border into into Vermont; Baba Yaga is believed to be in North Carolina, and Ringtoss, formerly of Technet, apparently has gone legit, setting up shop in Silicon Valley, though the jury's still out on that. There's more, which I would be happy to discuss when you're," glancing at the papers she had been so recently irritated about, "less occupied? I'm not here to add to your problems agent, quite the contrary. How can I assist you?"
- Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanova would nod over, fingers moving down to the system to ensure that each profile tag was updated with the latest information if it wasn't already. "No major pressing.. Concerns are on at this end of the spectrum beyond the norm. Your presence here will be.. Useful. If only for a sense of rallying." Becasue Captain America was dead.
- Brian Braddock has posed:
"Yes, I, quite right, I heard of that. Agent Romanoff, you, your team, and... the country have my sympathies." He had to think about that, as he wasn't quite certain of her diplomatic status. "He was a beacon unto the world. Though perhaps, in our own way, this is why His Majesty's government sent me here, to help in these difficult times. On the other hand, I'm not entirely certain how welcome a man bearing the Union Jack would be welcome by the co... citizens," stopping himself from referring to this lot as colonials.
- Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanova would nod, "Your presence here will be reassuring. It's good to have unamity." At least the Russians aren't sending the Oktober Guard in. She muses. "So if there are no further threats for the moment, how fares your home realm and the Corps?" She was only distantly aware of just -what- exactly Brian's greater purpose was.
- Brian Braddock has posed:
Moving to close his briefcase, and any sensitive documents within. He was allied with the United States and SHIELD, but just because they were his allies, didn't mean they shared everything. And if they thought that they could get the Braddock family recipe for Welsh Rarebit, then they had another thing coming.
"Well, it's widely expected that we're going to have a Labour government for the first time in fourteen years, though I suspect you meant more towards the Omniverse. We haven't had to deal with Nazis or Highlanders in a while, although I understand that Caledonia has taken up residence in the Baxter Building, or is it Four Freedoms Plaza in this dimension. It can be hard to keep everything straight, that's why it's so important to be grounded." Something that he was sadly, not. He was a stranger in a strange land. They didn't even comprehend the advantages of right side dominant eyesight being better towards the centre of the lane.
- Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanova would nod, "It seems like Hydra's been far too focused on things on these shores." Not for the better or for the worse. Wherever Hydra sank it's fangs into, they would have to be pursued and chased. As Brian goes over into 'in this dimension', Natasha would grumble. Alternate universes, time travel.. All of these things were above her ken. And she left them for the specialists to handle.
"Good to have you with us then, Captain. I'm sure that whatever the next cascade brings, it will be have to good you at our side."
