Medieval-Con Madness
Date of Scene: 24 September 2024
Location: MedievalCon in NYC
Synopsis: MedievalCon gets a midday show as Glamour takes on the Black Knight Brigade! With the help if a little red birdie.
Cast of Characters: Tim Drake, Glamour

Tim Drake has posed:
MedievalCon! The Homes of Knights, Squires and Everything In Between!

The Con is in full swing here in the city of New York and to walk down those streets right now would be to take a walk through the Court of King Arthur. There are maidens and jesters and all manner of people who wouldn't fit in at the ren faire but manage to here. Nerds of all kind are in full LARP gear as they mill about the convention center and the shops around it.

It is here that even the likes of Timothy Jackson Drake-Wayne also has decided to make an appearance. He hasn't gone full LARP but he does have a Dungeon Master Wizard Cloak on and a few bags from the Dungeons and Dragons booths inside. Lunch is on the menu though and now he's wandering about on the outside so that he can find some of this (allegedly) delicious New York Pizza.

"Hm."

Glamour has posed:
"Oh no," was Glamour's initial reaction to the sight oof the convention. These things do happen and she had some unfortunate memories lingering from the first (and only) time prior to this she had stumbled into one. Something to do with large bottles, a 'wizard' who had a few too many drinks too early, and a group of children chasing her like cats after the little red dot.

It was not a fond memory indeed.

Despite this, Glamour has found a street light to park herself on and observe the goings-ons. Conventions rooted in medieval fantasies may lose a little something when you are in fact one of the creatures being cosplayed, but they also gain a very different kind of entertainment value rooted in the same thing.

Leaning back on her hands, Glamour has made the effort to suppress her glow and dim the glitter that suffuses her presence, just taking in the sights, sounds, and avoiding the kind of trouble announcing herself would cause. She doeosn't want to wind up in a bottle.

Again.

Tim Drake has posed:
Wizard of Drake-Wayne bobs and weaves through the crowd on his way to Some Famous Pizza shop nearby since they all seem to be 'famous' in some capacity. The phone in his hand breaks the immersion obviously but at least the shop he's headed towards has four stars. So that's something.

Tim barely manages to get onto the path towards the restaurant before a set of... Black Knights on black horses ride from around the corner and into the paths of those that are gathered around the convention center. They are carrying comically large bags that jingle and as they ride there may be a jewel or a dollar bill or so that falls out as they seem to be trying to make a very hasty escape. Even if that means innocent con-goers will be trampled beneath the hooves of their horses.

Horse riding police officers follow behind in quick pursuit!

The Wizard of Drake-Wayne looks up and after them and squints. Crime. Frown.

Glamour has posed:
At first, Glamour is just watching some oof the would-be elves and fairies themselves, slightly amused. She's thinking about how she coould subtly enhance their experience mostly for her own amusement -- but subtelty goes out the window along with any notion of it being a peaceful day for her. It's the thundering of hooves that gets her attention. After all, how could it not? Eyes drawn firset to one set of black knights and then to their police pursuers, she stands up, plants her tiny hands on her tiny hips, and then lets out a sigh.

"You have got to be fuckin' kidding me," she says, in a tone reminiscent of Palmer staring at the Norris-Thing's crawling decapitated head. "Time to ... get to work, I guess!"

Calling on her fairy magic, Glamour is suddenly a perfecttly normal sized girl, standing on top of a lamp post on one foot, glittering and glowing blue in the daylight. Leaving a trail of sparkles behind her, she twirls through the air down towards the thieves, able to keep a pace easily.

"'Sup," she says to one as she pulls up alongside him.

Tim Drake has posed:
The Black Knight Brigade (these fools probably do have some horrible name like that) swing their maces and their swords at the innocents gathered around as they try to make room so that they can make their escape. Two of them do turn around, though, armed with jousting spears in an attempt to try and get some of them off their tail. It's a risk they are willing to take if they can escape.

The police have their guns drawn but the the armor the Black Knight Brigade is wearing will probably not fall to bullets. So they have not fired any shots yet. One thing is clear, though, they do not know how to deal with jousting thieves.

As far as Timothy the Wizard of Drake-Wayne, there's a moment where he spots the now full sized girl standing on top of a lamp post. He doesn't say anything so much as watch as she goes full sparkle trail after the Black Knight Brigade. Realizing that this could take a turn for the worse, he disappears. Not actually but Batman-ly.

Speaking of them, the leader looks over to see that there's a flying girl next to him, he narrows his eyes. "You there! Away with you!" And he swings his mace to try and knock her sparkling light out!

Glamour has posed:
"You first," is Glamour's quippy answer as she uses one hand to grab hold of his mace hand, stopping him dead from swinging. One advantage to the size magic that she uses is that it comes with a terribly comprehensive strength increase, to say nothing of the durability that comes naturally to being a fairy. It's about three seconds later, after she got all fancy, that she realizes that maybe tackling knights wielding potential iron weapons would be bad for her health. She twists his wrist and forces him to let go of his mace as her smile goes from enthusiastic too a little forced. Then there's a sharp yank, aiming to liberate him from his saddle and drop him on his butt on the ground. "I GUESS WE WON'T BE CALLING THATT ONE A DRAW HA HA HA HA," she yells back at him. Oh god. Is she going to spend the whole time making references to THAT movie?

You better believe it.

Tim Drake has posed:
The Blackest Knight is yanked right on up and ends up dropped on the ground. Before he can reach for his sword (of course he has a back up weapon) his arms get pinned to his sides by the arrival of a red and black bola wrapping around him. Following the angle upward and marks the visual arrival of the winged wonder: RED ROBIN!

"Be nice." Red Robin's words are added to let everyone know he's here to actually help. His gliding angle brings his feet towards the back of one of the jousting knights to dropkick them off their horse and away from the police officer they were about to stab through the chest.

The next best Black Knight focuses his attention on the fairy and spins his horse around to face the fairy that took down their boss. He points at her with his sword. "Thou shalt perish on the end of my blade!" And here he comes. Charge!

Glamour has posed:
"Noo, you're supposed to say 'none shall pass'!" yells Glamour, "I am SO disappoined in you!" The words are out of her mouth before she has a chance to really grasp that he's charging her. "Whoa, hey!" she yelps, twisting into a little spiralling jaunt upwards and leaving him in a spray of glitter behind her which now adorns his armor and makes him sparkly.

"...BE DAZZLED," she says, waving her hands befoore her as if she was casting a spell. A glance around for approval. Come on. That was a good one, right? Still, it does necessitate that she do something else, and in this case, she's going right after him, aiming to get behind him to negate his advantage of 'sword' by casting 'wedgie' to remove him froom his horse.

Tim Drake has posed:
"Hey! Hey! OW!" The Wedgied Knight's fake accent seems to disappear and become so much more Brooklyn when he's yanked up off his horse by his undies. Superman Undies, by the way. Regardless, though, now he's hanging in the air with a bedazzled armor and his Superman undies hiked up main street, his sword clanging to the ground as he tries to flap and struggle his way down from here. It just makes him look like a human shaped disco ball.

Red Robin looks up from cuffing a pair of those Black Knights to actually smirk at Glamour's one liner. "Nice one." is offered with a half salute sent in her direction. Red Robin turns his attention to one of the two remaining members of the Black Knight Brigade and flings a flashbang into his face before the twirling of his staff preps for a combo!

Meanwhile, the riderless horses are free! Away they go!

Glamour has posed:
"Thanks," says Glamour, excitedly at the praise. "Wait, who the hell are you?" It's the people screaming about the horses while she poses in the air giving a double thumbs up while her wings buzz away that make her realize what's happening. Oh. Right. Horses.

"... OH YEAH," she says, and then she's on her way to the one further out, trying with some effort to grab it by its reigns and then ease it back until she can grab the other, assuming it doesn't divert.

One can hope.

"Come on, come on, oy, slow it up there buddies!" This is gonna take some doing. And create a whole lot more sparkles./

Tim Drake has posed:
Sparkles everywhere but at least the horse slows down. So that's a good thing. It doesn't take too much to wrangle him. It looks like the police officers have managed to grab the other one because they are walking it back to the crime scene right now. The Black Knight Brigade is bound and cuffed and being watched by one of the officers.

Standing on the rooftop of the convention center with a dramatic moment of overlooking the now reigned in chaos, Red Robin stands long enough to be noticed by before pulling a Batman disappearance. So dramatic. Like a Gotham Tuxedo Mask.

Glamour has posed:
Running low on time sized up like this, Glamour zips up into the sky once the police have things under control. Just another day in New York City, right?

She scans for the other hero, but well, she's not super perceptive and she gets distracted easy before finding a safely obscured locale to let her magic slip her back down to her proper size.

"That was a fun distraction ... a little bit ... kinda. Aw, fuck. I losot my Black Knight joke themeing!"

She's so disappointed in herself.
