Shopping for Sharps
Date of Scene: 21 February 2022
Location: Project Quantum Research Lab
Synopsis: The Foot assault Project Quantum. Bombshell and the security measures are able to repel them, but they do get one valuable item.
Cast of Characters: Amy Sue Allen, Shredder

Amy Sue Allen has posed:
Project Quantum, an old air force based converted in the early 1960's to hold the object code named Silver Shield. The Central Hanger was the only building large enough to hold it. It languished for years, but was recently restored to something akin to it's former glory. Within the walls of the base are housing for the soldiers and scientists who work there and their families, the main hanger, some side hangers for the planes and helicopters (though notably the plane storage hanger has no planes in it and is used for some testing areas, the helicopters are still used), a number of things like the sttore, canteen, barracks, shooting range, and armory that are common to air force bases, and three laboratory areas which are not common (the olders, Dr. Magala's lab, dated back to before Silver Shield was brought here...and is where ie first created X-ionized metal). Walls yes, the entire base had state of the art security when built. It has been updated with many modern security devices, but the basic design is stil older and leaves a few gaps.

Shredder has posed:
Nothing is fully secure. It's the principle that ninjas have exploited for centuries. If there is at least one person in the world that can access something, that access can be breached regardless of technology. It was resource transports that gave the Foot the first clue to what was happening here. Fuel, food, and most importantly, chemicals required for operations. The Foot had control of one of the more mundane chemicals that were transported, given their use of the same chemical in their own operations.

The military was developing something, that was clear. What it was exactly was unclear, but since it was clearly a discreet project, it meant that there would be limited governmental response to a theft. Only people already in the know could pursue them. That put the scales on a more even setting.

The Shredder himself chose to lead something of this level of sensitivity. There was a victory to be had, and he wasn't willing to trust this to even his granddaughter's care. This would be fore his personal attention. At the borders of the complex His assassin team scoured for an access point. The system's reliance on motion sensing was their conclusion, and the standard uniforms have been overlayed with IR Flocksheets as a result. True black which turns them into eerily black shadows that seem to be more out of a horror flick. Anyone who might actually see their forms would see literally a black mass moving across the compound, but in the dark? They are unlikely to see even that. The Shredder himself has even discarded some of his usual blades, appearing only as his shinobi do. Five black figures cross the parking lot quietly.

Amy Sue Allen has posed:
Amy Sue Allen was in the hanger that used to house airplanes. Right now, ir was serving as a training area for Bombshell, so far the sole Quantum Soldier created by the latest techniques. The first part of the training was the usual, lestng her flight speed and maneuverability, her physical stregth, the intensity and accuracy of her quantum blasts. The trick was testing with just the shell versus quantum enhanced. The second set being far greater than the first.

After the basic tests, they were testing her other abilities. It was that which gave her the first clue that something was wrong, testing her energy sensitivity to see if she could spot individual people...and she realizes that there is a group of people who are not acting as usual in the staff parking area. She says to one of the scientists, "Charlie, check the cameras on parking area #3. I think there is someting with a human body temperature in that area."

Shredder has posed:
The temperature is a minimal shift, much colder than most humans would be, but there is some noticability given the coolness of the February air. The IR flocksheet muffles the heat signature, but it's there. It's surely quite warm in those outfits. A split comes, four figures moving in different directions. They are on a recon mission right now.

The cameras, try as they might, though, can't see very much. No movement to the naked eye, and the fifth signature seems to evaporate into the air, as if perhaps it was a trick of the mind.

The other four each reach a building, seeking a way to get inside.

Amy Sue Allen has posed:
Amy is not certain how many signatures she is detecting, she is not that good yet, but with nothing being visible on cameran and her being certain something there, an intrucder alert is issued quietly. A warning of a possible covert action against the base being under way, but one designed not to alert said intruders that they might have been spotted. All doors and other entrances in non-private areas are now set to give warning if they open. Active tracking is under way of all base personel. Meanwhile, Bombshell is sent out to pinpoint the intrusion she has sensed. along with a radio headset so she can keep in touch. She follows towards the building the signature is headed towards...but covert a flying silver woman is not.

Shredder has posed:
What happens when a force locks the doors with no way to open them without someone knowing? Well, you get THEM to open them. It's absolute silence outside in the parking lot. Bombshell's obvious movements give the ninja team knowledge of when to stay parked and when to move.

A sudden series of explosions suddenly rock the parking lot. Car after car bursts into flames. Not all of them, but enough of them to create quite the spectacle. Standing atop a sedan then is a singular figure, a dark blot against the flames.

Amy Sue Allen has posed:
Bombshell sees the black figure, but decides to deal with the fire before it spreads first. She has to concentrate to open herself to the quantum field, but from the outside it only seems as if she hovers over the area and the fires are drawn into her, leaving her glowing for a moment brighter than the fire did before both the fires and her glow go out.

Bombshell says to the dark figure, "Surrender yourself for questioning."

Shredder has posed:
The head is a little larger than one might expect on a human, something is on under the dark cowl. He doesn't answer, nor does he stop the extinguishing of the fire. Meanwhile, the assassin team that is by the doors are disappointed as there is no one else exiting to help deal with the situation. So they take matters into their own hands. In teams of two , the two pair abandon the extreme stealth of their mission's initial intent, placing minor explosives on the locks to purge the doors' defenses, and they file inside rapidly like living shadows entering the light.

Amy Sue Allen has posed:
The dark figure did not answer, therefore SOP is fire an opening salvo then close to melee if that does not brig them down. As they are likely wanted for questioning, aiming at the legs first is the suggested target. Incapacitate and immobilize but leave them alive.

Bombshell first a qyantum bolt from her right hand at the opposition's left leg, but also fires one from the left hand a second later aiming to hit where an enemy might duck to, if they go right to avoid the attack.

Shredder has posed:
The dark figure does not duck backward or to the side, but instead ducks forward toward the shot. Something most people would instinctively not do. Ducking toward a projectile is not in human nature, giving a little taste of the opponent's fearlessness. He's very fast. Down to the asphalt, out of immediate view as he momentarily hits the shadows between the fires, and then up again and into the air with a remarkable leap. If she's looking for melee, it looks like she got it. But he seem to be soaring up in an arc that puts him behind her rather than in front of her, a matte black ninja-to coming out to strike at her back, the natural course of his arc is set to take him back out of sight again into the dark parking lot where his outfit will aid his camoflauge.

Amy Sue Allen has posed:
Amy sees he is trying to pass over her and rises to intercept, she knows how tough she is, being in this shell is like wearing a personal skin-tight tank.

Breaking the locks on the lab puts the important areas on lockdown. A lot of the lab processes are based off biohazard labs, the key areas seal with an airtight solid metal seal as doors weighing hundreds of pounds drop down, no longer held up by the active resistance that ha been keeping them in place. the areas that are not sealed have security personel headed out to investigate and intercept...

Shredder has posed:
The figure is intercepted, but as he comes up and finds himself in front of her instead of behind, he finds his blade ineffective against the armor. he grabs her foot as he comes up and inverts, his feet coming up over his head to kick off from her ribs back toward the ground, landing in a crouch again, looking up. A view of his eyes becomes visible in the shadow as he studies the flying foe.

Meanwhile, the team at the lab concerns themselves with the problem of the sensitive lockdown, moving their way through the building where they are able to find out what information they might achieve.

At the same time, the two in the hangar split, one standing on the inside of the hangar to await the security detail that is sure to come, while the other takes a search through the things that the team Bombshell was working with was testing.

Amy Sue Allen has posed:
Bombshell decides to try one of her newer tricks, the quantum wave. Most people will be immobilized by that, as it hits their voluntary nervous system with paralyzing energies. Of course, she is nearly as immobile due to the concentration needed to maintain it. Still, it is worth a shot against an agile foe.

The ones in the hanger realize that there is not much useful there, a bunch of energy readouts that mean nothing unless you know what they are comparing to, a shooting range, a wind tunnel, a bunch of angled rings one might guide a drone of a small flier through. The ones in the lab area find themselves dodging security patrols and trying to figure out signs that say things like "Lab A", that do not indicate a thing about what each lab is for. Their best bet might be the main security area, if they can figure out what is most secure they might be able to find what is being guarded.

Shredder has posed:
The Lab team does in indeed make their way to the security room. They breach the door quickly rather than quietly, throwing pellets into the room that should knock out any regular humans inside as they burst a plume of gas upon impact.

The team in the hangar indicate with a disapproving shake of the head to each other, and make their way out the opposite door to find out what their master's combat is like. It's just in time to see...

The figure takes the quantum wave, having no where to go to avoid it, and his fists clench momentarily before he collapses to the ground limply. That seemed to be effective.

Amy Sue Allen has posed:
Amy moves slowly forward, moving like she is slogging through mud. Anyone else within the radius of the power can not move at all (well, anyone she has encountered so far), so it does not matter if she is slow. She draws near and prepares to strike the dark figure down...

The team in the lab realizes that the heaviest guards seem to be in lab C. They note that Lab D seems deserted, though they realizes that it seems to have material for metalurgy and forging.

Shredder has posed:
The figure on the ground goes completely silent for a brief moment, closing his eyes during Bombshell's approach. Then as Amy draws close, he suddenly snaps them open, both legs kicking out aimed at splitting her heels to either cause her to clear backward or be knocked off her feet. "Impressive toys," he says, still on the ground. "But they will not cure a need for skill." His voice is confident and sure, and while it might be considered a little arrogant, there doesn't seem to be a tone of mockery about him, simply a tone that is like a statement of fact. As if he's giving coaching advice.

Once the ninjas assess the situation, they choose to go to Lab D, it's an easier target and time is the most important thing to them at the moment. they burst down the hallway, making their way to the lab.

The two outside now near their master do not attack, instead they take up watch, looking for any security that might come to aid the woman who can fly.

Amy Sue Allen has posed:
Amy may be extremely tough, but she is only a little heavier than most women her size. She is also not flying, so she can be knocked down, which breaks her concentration. On the good side, for her, not having to concentrate means she is able to operate at the norman speed and skill. On the bad side, so is her opposition.

The two ninja guards do see a number of headlights headed in this direction from various parts of the base.

The lab, while not guarded, is still locked down. The ninja team have no trouble with the outside door, but the heavy inside door will need to be lifted and gotten past.

Shredder has posed:
The two ninjas outside move to intercept, racing in their perfectly black outfits toward the incoming headlights. Their outfits reflect no light at all, meaning that even with the headlights directly upon them, they are as dark as the night itself. One of them pulls caltrops from a pocket pouch, and scatters them across the pavement, while the other runs in the reverse direction, a pair of kunai pulled in order to slash the tires of another approaching direction. Apparently that one didn't pack caltrops.

The two standing before the door examine it for a moment, and then, given that they cannot solve the problem through the door, they do the next best thing. They go to the wall, planting a bomb against the wall, then rushing back before it detonates. They'll try making their own door.

The Shredder stands back up, and looks to the oncoming headlights. They've drawn more attention than he would have liked. He settles to create more confusion. Defeating someone in combat isn't his priority. He chucks a small pellet at the ground next to Amy which bursts into a cloud of teargas. It's not as much as a grenade might produce, but it's enough that could create fiercely watering eyes and a burning throat for a little while. Something that makes fighting far more difficult.

Amy Sue Allen has posed:
Fortnately for Bombshell, she is immune to the direct effects of tear gas (while armored anyway). It still acts like smoke clouding her vision though. However, she can not detect the Shredder's energy through the residual heat from the previously burning cars, he is as unseen to her at the moment as he would be to anyone else.

The oncoming cars are slowed by the shredded tires, which will also delay others having to go around them,

The bomb creates only a small hole in the wall, which is a bit more reinforced than usual. One Ninja reaches through it and grabs a knife before the two of them flee the guards converging on the explosion.

Shredder has posed:
The master and his four ninjas respond as he throws a flash pellet to a distance away from him. The flash has a magnesium burn for just an instant, but it's the signal that the others recognize, and into the darkness they return. Those on the car flee, and the ones in the lab see the knife's acquisition as unfortunately all they will manage today. But it could still be of use. They make their way back out of the labs, and into the night.

The Shredder himself? He seems to have disappeared as well, without a follow up indication of where he might have been going, and before long all that remains is aftermath. Not much is missing, only that knife, and several employees will have unfortunate work ahead of them claiming insurance damages on their cars tomorrow.
