Date of Scene: 10 May 2020
Location: Central Plaza - Happy Harbor High School
Synopsis: The Queens visit Happy Harbor HS to check on a couple of students..
Cast of Characters: Alexander Aaron, Roy Harper, Thea Queen, Oliver Queen

Alexander Aaron has posed:
Two more weeks left in the school year, just two weeks until there's an element of freedom given to the students, though for some the senior trip beckons with a promise of across the country shenanigans all to be shared. To grow memories and bonds that will last a lifetime. Maybe two. It lends a feeling to the air at the school, of potentiality, of portent. And that manifests in the afternoon when the school lets out in the place... becoming a ghost town almost instantly.
It's a tumultuous rush of people getting away, getting into cars, getting onto buses. The sound of shrieking children bright and loud and thankfully... brief. But once they're gone it leaves the place eerily quiet, and strange to see so few people around.
But the young man there, one Alexander Aaron. He likes it that way. Settled on a benchseat in front of the school he has one leg drawn up into his lap with a hand resting on his shoe, casually pulling and picking at the tread where some of the rubber has frayed. On that leg in his lap rests a book that has his attention for the moment as he lounges there on the front of the school, some ways away from the sidewalk but close to the stairway up into the school proper.
Not exactly a low profile being kept, easily spottable from a distance, good sight lines. Easy target assuredly.

Roy Harper has posed:
"Hey," Roy says when he sees Alexander, strolling through the courtyard on his way out of the dorms to wherever he happens to be going, a backpack slung over one shoulder. He's in his usual faded jeans, a dark red t-shirt and red chucks, a baseball cap sitting atop his head and a pair of sunglasses over his eyes. He doesn't seem to be in any particular hurry. He's been around campus, attending classes, wrapping up the end of the school year actually doing his homework. He's often seen studying in the library. It's weird for anyone who really knows him, but there he has been, actually making an attempt at this whole student thing.

Thea Queen has posed:
Thea doesn't always take Oliver's advice, but in this case, the youngest Queen is actually stepping up to the plate, being a team player, and all that sort of morale boosting things! Once over her initial shock, and, okay, after talking to her big brother about it, she actually did something, and that 'something' was to get an artist's rendition, and start with facial recognition with public institutions; police line-ups, colleges, and... high schools.

There... there was the face looking back at her. A printout is grabbed and stuffed into her oversized, expensive bag, and she's out.

But not without mentioning it to Oliver, however. This one, if he had the time and the wherewithal, sort of required the big guns. That, and, well.. she actually likes him along, but she'll never confess to that.

As a result, there she is, in her regular, of course trendy outfit, walking the sidewalk towards the highschool, her attention focused between those around her and the looming school. She's got a phone in hand, but not to her ear; all the ready to get pictures if need be!

Oliver Queen has posed:
Fine enough, Oliver could make the trip over to Happy Harbor. He occasionally did, and to be true he enjoyed being here. And besides all that, it was about time that he visited Roy. Though just like last time he didn't announce he was coming. He never did. It was their thing. Always keep an eye out for Oliver Queen to come by the school!

So here he was, on a more casual outfit (no jeans, of course), shirt, corduroys, a blazer. He was eyeing Thea, asking. "Do you have a name too? For this photo you got?"

Walking along the sidewalk they are making way closer to where the two students are. Intercept route engaged!

Alexander Aaron has posed:
"Hey!" Alexander's voice lifts answering even before he looks up from the book and then blinking a few times when his gaze falls upon Roy. A moment then he adds with a small smile, "Hey Roy. Just two more weeks and all." He makes a face as if that was both a good thing and a bad thing, at least for him being a senior and all and then the 'real world'. But his eyes distance a moment before they return.
The young Olympian is not looking hugely different from Roy in a traditional sense. He's got jeans and a t-shirt too, though his is black with a baleful looking kitten upon the front clinging to the side of a cliff and a caption that declares, 'Hang in there, baby!' No baseball cap though.
As the others approach he doesn't seem to notice them as he partially turns back to his book for a few moments then looks up again. "Place feels kinda spooky this time of year, don't it?" A glance is given back to the other student and /that/ is perhaps the instant when he looks past the other youth to see the approach of the others.

Roy Harper has posed:
"Yep," Roy says with a nod, glancing back over his shoulder toward the dorm that he'd just come out of. "You're almost out of here, right? You going on the trip?" Roy is only a Junior, so not only is he not going on the trip, but he has another year at Happy Harbor, himself. He shrugs and says, "Not really. I mean, quieter, sure." But not really spooky. "Less dinosaurs." He grins. Then he glances back and over his shoulder to see what Alexander is looking at to notice Oliver and Thea.

He'd look surprised, but then, he's not. Oliver turning up unexpectedly isn't unusual at all. That's sort of his M.O., after all. Thea, he wasn't expecting, and so his brows creep up a little bit. He lifts a hand to wave to them in greeting, blissfully oblivious that there's anything going on at all.

Thea Queen has posed:
"Yeah.." Here, Thea spins around and walks backwards for a couple of steps and her voice still holds that conversational lilt, even if it does get quieter, "Alexander Aaron. 12th grade." A couple more steps backwards turns into a graceful pirouette so she's walking forward again, dodging another going the opposite way.

"You didn't mention that we were..." Thea catches the expression on Roy's face before her own expression lights up a little theatrically, surprise? and she waves back. The Queens are in da house!

To see the person talking with Roy, however, brings Thea to a complete and total standstill, and for a second, she's frozen to the spot. "Ollie," and her words are low, "that's him.. the one that Roy's talking to."

Be cool, be cool... and Thea starts walking about, that whole 'nonchalantness' thing a complete and total act.

Oliver Queen has posed:
Oliver is the type to commit names to memory. Long lists of enemies and all that. And he was still trying to figure out which type this one would be. A 12th grader was odd enough, at least considering what Thea had told him had happened. But no need to judge before he actually took a look at the kid... Oh, who was he kidding, he was the type to judge well before meeting someone..

.. So it's a surprise to noone that in his approach that expression looks none too pleased, one that may just tell Roy he isn't here just to meet up. And Thea being here ..., not -that- normal. "I never mention it. But he's not surprised anymore so next time I may have to."

The man doesn't break pace even when Thea announces the other young man to be this Alexander Aaron. "Roy." he greets the young man, reaching with one hand to give him an handshake. "Here we are for a small visit. Another new friend?" he asks, blue eyes taking note of Alexander, giving him a lookover.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
A small chuff comes from the blonde kid as he grins a little, looking askance back towards Roy, "Dinos, ugh." Knowing what passed with all that particular flavor of craziness but shaking his head. "But yeah, ESU after this. The trip though, I don't know, there's..." A small frown touches Alexander's features as he looks down at his book. "Sort of a thing I gotta go to this weekend. See how that goes. Mebbe the trip after."
    A beat, "Mebbe."
Then he turns back to see the people walk up and wave to Roy his expression slips to a polite smile as he holds onto that book with both hands upon the upper corners, calm hazel eyes flitting from Ollie's face to Thea's... and back again. No hint of recognition there for the moment.
And when they might spare a glance for him he'll give a nod in return. Just as polite. But then lifts a hand to offer greeting when Ollie notices him a little more formally.

Roy Harper has posed:
"Yeah? More goats?" Roy asks with a little wry grin. Yeah, he saw that video before it got pulled. Then he turns his attention back toward Oliver and Thea as they get closer. He grins at Thea and lifts his chin to her. "Hey. Wasn't expecting to see you here. How you been?" He takes the hand that Oliver offers and gives it a shake, catching the look from Oliver and some curiosity flickering in his own gaze -- a silent question, but he also doesn't let it phase him in the least. He gathers they weren't really there for a social call for him.

"This is Alex," he says to Oliver and Thea. "He's a senior." Then he nods to Alex and says, "This is Oliver Queen and Thea. Family. Who like to turn up periodically to keep me on my toes." Even if he suspects that's not the case this time around.

Thea Queen has posed:
Thea trails a little, her larger purse swinging towards her front now, and she's got two hands on it. She's got //that// smile, however, fixed and practiced over the years of having to be at dinner parties and functions thanks to her being a Queen. "Hey, Roy," is given, complete with a low, still mostly holding onto the purse wave. "Goats?" She looks puzzled, though that disappears quickly.

"Yeah, been busy I guess," Thea starts offhandedly, "you know.." Her head bobs a nod while a shoulder lifts in a brief gestured shrug, "Actually considering being productive. Not sure it's everything I heard it was, though. Not yet."

It's that introduction to Alex, then, that has her stareing at the senior. There's a momentary pause before, "Hey." Notice, no hand extended for greeting!

Oliver Queen has posed:
"Alex, is it?" Oliver says, watching Alexander while he extends his own hand forward to meet his in an handshake. Firm as it should be, and perhaps lingering for a second there. Taking a measure perhaps? But then releasing. "Well met. And a senior, looking forward to the end of school?" he inquires, looking about the premises. Yes, he knew the year would be ending soon!

Then his focus is back on Roy, smiling at the mention of being family. Yes, that is exactly how he felt about the young man as well. "I have full confidence that you have been doing well after our last talk. Maybe next few times we come I will actually announce it." he tells him, not hiding a small grin on his expression.

Still, there's just the faintest of tensions to his shoulders.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
At the mention of the goats, Alexander's nose twitches as he scrunches it up, not the first joke he's heard about it at his expense after those videos made the rounds at the school. But he takes it in stride with another /chuff/ perhaps a little more animated than the one before. But then his expression eases into a casual smile as he nods to Oliver and Thea, "Heya. Mr. Queen. Thea."
Oh he's good at that casual polite youth thing he's got going on. Clearly a dastard in disguise. His curious pale blue and jadish green eyes flit from each of the newcomers, taking note. And when it seems like Oliver is about to step over to offer a handshake he'll quickly dislodge his book from his lap and set it aside to rise up quickly, brush off his hands, and then take that proffered grip.
The youth's own handshake is firm, not aggressive, business-like with the required three pumps and then releasing the grip. "Yes, sir." He answers the question, "College and all." He offers with a slight smile, as if that was reason enough.

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper raises a brow at Oliver and says, "I'll believe it when I see it." But then he cracks into a grin, "Or perhaps you will, just /because/ I don't believe it." Yes, Oliver, he knows your game. But he seems content to play it, in whatever form it takes. He glances over curiously at Thea. He knows something's up, but for the moment he just continues on as normal. "Productive? What's the fun in that?" He flashes her a grin. "It's a lot of homework is what it is," he mock-grumbles. Then he nods to Oliver and says, "Doing pretty well. AJ's been helping me study for finals. I think I'm going to do alright." There's always that bit of self-doubt there, that hesitance to be too hopeful that he might succeed rather than fuck things up. But then he shrugs his shoulders, "Last paper's almost done. Then.. just gotta figure out what I'm doing for the summer." It's clear he's still curious about what's going on, but Roy's gotten very good about not asking questions and waiting for answers to come.

Thea Queen has posed:
Thea cants her head to see if she can't discern the title of the book that may be printed on the spine, at the very least. In the daytime, Alex doesn't seem quite so... creepy, but then again, this is the day. Shifting her attention to Roy, Thea's tones sound a little more animated; it's been a little while! "What're you going to be doing for the summer, Roy? Going to actually come out and stay for a little? It does get boring."

There's the question, then, for Alex, and it's in the same realm, in an attempt to learn a little more about him. "How 'bout you, Alex? In between graduation and school? Staying in the area?" Conversational!

Leaning forward in a mock tease, she's picking on her brother, it comes as a stage whisper, "Maybe means no. You know he loves to surprise. I've lost more boyfriends that way." Thea does chuckle and shrugs, still holding on to her purse, "It really isn't what it's cracked up to be. I think once my pet project is done, I'll go back to being irresponsible. It's more fun."

Oliver Queen has posed:
"I am wounded that you feel it to be boring back at our place." There's even an heated pool on the back! What more can a sane person want!? But Oliver is smiling nonetheless, he can crack a bit of a joke from time to time. "Still, Thea is right. You should come visit. Specially after last time, I am sure you won't find it to be slow." a smirk. Yes, taking out gangsters had been an highlight of last time.

"And I still need to meet AJ a bit better too." Oliver then glances over to Alexander, nodding at Thea's questions to him. "College is always a good thing. What themes interest to you there?"

"I don't think that after your project gets going that you will have the time to be irresponsible." Oliver lets Thea dwell on that for a few moments.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
The book is red, with a fabric cover, whatever sleeve had been on it from the bookstore likely having been discarded. But in gold type on the spine she can see the simple words, 'Guns, Germs, and Steel' which is a book he has been reading for the last... several months. Not exactly staggeringly interesting, but not exactly a common thing either.
Still standing, when Thea turns her attention to him he smiles easily enough at the young woman. "Oh um. Might be going on a family. Trip. Thing. This weekend." The way his lips twist up a little it's not exactly something he seems enthused for, but he does not elaborate either.
Though when Oliver asks his question he answers promptly, "I haven't chosen a major yet, sir. Kinda a bridge too far at the moment. If that makes sense." But for an instant he shoots a glance sidelong toward Roy, an eyebrow quirking as if silently asking his fellow student, 'are they always like this?'

Roy Harper has posed:
"Yeah," Roy says to Thea and Oliver, "I'll be out. And I'm sure AJ will come out with me, at least for a bit. I think he's going on a trip or something, maybe a family thing, at some point. I dunno what his dad wants him to do. But he's excited to come out." Then he grins at Thea and asks, "Are you saying you miss me, Thea? Do I need to come out there and help keep things interesting?" He can't help but laugh just a little bit at Oliver's woundedness. "I dunno, I don't think I've ever had a dull moment there. Last trip was definitely eventful."

He glances back over to Alexander and sees that look. He shrugs both shoulders and grins with a 'what-can-you-do' sort of grin. Yep, the questions are a thing.

Thea Queen has posed:
"Then I need to do it all now," Thea quips in return with a more genuine looking version of her smile.

Looking back at the pair, Thea takes a couple steps forward in order to sit on one of the steps... in a skirt. She's good at that by now. And, it's a little less formal.

"Yes, come by." There is a pointed look given to Ollie, and there's that smile again as she turns her attention back to Roy, "It gets boring," is repeated. "Seriously." Shaking her head quickly, she finds a random bit of pebble to toss at Roy. "Absolutely not. Don't miss you at all.. Nope."

Thea nods, her purse set upon her lap, and she cants her head, looking at Alex thoughtfully. She wasn't crazy, she really wasn't. Sympathy is managed, with a touch of rue, "Family trip. I'm sorry. Never fun. It's usually somewhere you have no desire to be in order to see and do things that you really don't care about. Been there, done that and refused to buy the t-shirt."

Oliver Queen has posed:
Oliver refuses to take the bite and answer to that first quip. No need to make things awkward. So he simply smiles, perhaps a bit more deeply than he intended to.

"I will make you sure you guys have a lot of interesting things to do when you go back." That tone and the way Oliver says it most likely means extra training down at the cave. Oh joy. Nothing like some salmon ladder pulls on an early morning. Yep.

But then his phone rings, a frown. He looks at it and then glances up at both Thea and Roy. "I need to take this. If you will excuse me." he takes a few steps away from the group to take the call, even as he keeps an eye on the proceedings.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
There's a small shrug as he looks over towards Roy, but then as Ollie departs Alexander's attention shifts toward Thea more. There's something about her, to be fair, something curious. But it could be any number of things that might be niggling at the back of his mind.
So he takes it at face value and nods once, "I'm hoping it'll be... not that big a deal but. We'll see." And as he says that he gives a nod to Thea and then asks, "And you, Thea?" He looks over at Roy as if for some kind of permission to see if it was okay for him to ask, some old sliver of politeness he must have picked up from somewhere.
"Are you still in school, or are you out in the wild and crazy world?"

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper gets a pebble tossed at him and he easily dodges it, side-stepping the projectile with a grin. "Gonna have to throw way faster than that," he teases Thea. "Alright. I'll come by. Promise." He then glances between Thea and Alex and says, "Hey sometimes family road trips can be fun. Sometimes they turn into wild adventures. Even if Oliver won't always let you keep the souvenirs." He looks over at Oliver then, grinning. Like the rocket launcher from his last trip home. He can't help but chuckle when Oliver threatens them with making their lives interesting. He knows exactly what that means.

"Where are you going on your trip?" Roy asks Alex. "Is it at least somewhere interesting, even if you have to do boring family stuff while there?" He raises his brows a little as though he gets that Alex is asking him for permission for something, but he really isn't sure for what. Either way, he grants it with a grin and a shrug of his shoulders. Ask what you want, man. It's unlikely in this crew that anyone's going to answer something they don't want to.

Thea Queen has posed:
Knowing Oliver, obviously, that sounds way more ominious than it should! Thea looks across to her brother, brows rising before she rolls her eyes. "Yeah, well I'm not in school so I don't have to write essays on how I spent my summer vacation." It'd be a work of fiction, just like her actual essays were back when she was writing them! It kept Youth and Family Protection Services from rolling up to her front door!

When his phone rings, Thea's attention locks on to her brother even as he steps away. A little distracted now, she divides her attention between the pair and her brother. "Me? Nah.. even when I was in school, I was in the wild and crazy world part of it." Not the best of students, but when one has money? It really didn't matter. "Don't regret a thing." There's that distinct lack of remorse. "Tried college. Like mixing alcohols, it didn't agree with me." Okay, though college doesn't make her throw up after attending classes like a bender does. "Not for everyone."

Wait.. what? Did Roy JUST tell her that she had to throw quicker? Her? Brows rising, and there's a touch of challange to her expression. "Did you really say that? Ooooh..just wait..." Speedy is going to make him eat those words! On a dry cracker. "Be ready, Harper."

Alexander Aaron has posed:
With permission gained to be as inquisitive as he wishes, the Olympian youth nods to Roy before he answers.
"Ah," Alexander lifts a hand to rub at the back of his neck, "Supposed to be a surprise. There's this... celebration thing once a year that one of my uncles sort of..." His nose crinkles, "Invented. Not really my thing." But beyond that he doesn't seem to elaborate too much.
A look is given back to Thea as he murmurs, "Yeah, I can imagine." He turns a little more to close off the conversational circle from Oliver, giving him some hint of privacy until he rejoins. Alex looks between Roy and Thea and smiles a little. "I'm not sure if I really even want to go to college, but the old man and all that. But then I'd have to think of, like, a job." Which causes him to make a small face.
But when the sibling rivalry starts to get going it causes a warm smile to settle on Alex's features.

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper laughs out loud when Thea seems to catch on that he'd just challenged her. Challenge accepted, it seems, and Roy just grins. "Always watching, Queen," he quips back with a flash of a grin, seeming undaunted by this threat.

He tilts his head as Alexander explains his family vacation and says, "Ah, family tradition things. Got it." He's not entirely unaccustomed to those -- of a sort. "What would you do if you didn't go to college? I mean, have you thought about a job? That's going to probably happen after college, anyway? Not like I have any idea what I'm going to do." So he doesn't particularly expect anyone else to.

Thea Queen has posed:
"Jobs suck."

There. It's out there. Thea really thinks little of an actual job, which is probably why she's not really a part of Queen Consolidated. Sure, she's got shares, she's got stocks, and that sweet trust fund.. but working there? Hell to the no. Like the rest of the family, she wants to see it succeed, and it won't if she's part of it.

"Buuut... I don't know if Ollie mentioned it, but I'm going to take a chunk of money and build a club. Dance club. A place where I might actually go if I were me and I didn't own it." She's got that cheshire-cat smile, and looks sideways at the two younger men. "If you love what you're doing, you won't work a day in your life, or some shit like that." She can curse! Ollie is taking the phone call.

But, oh.... yes. Challenge accepted, Harper!

"I kinda miss some family traditions. Seriously, Alex.. you might miss it when it's gone. Unless it's something wierd, like sacrificing chickens and dancing around naked under a full moon or something." There's something in her eyes when she sort of pokes around the outer ring of.. things, and couched in lightness, she's watching his reactions. "Not that there's anything wrong with dancing around naked under a full moon."

Oliver Queen has posed:
Oliver continues for a while longer on that call, blabla-ing. Doing actual WORK. Because someone has to in the family. But as with all good things they need to end. So eventually the phonecall does end and he returns back to where the others are.

He just catches those last words from Thea, a brow arching up just so but no comment there.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
"I was thinking I'd like to do a whole mess of nothing." Alexander says with a cultivated solemnity to it as he nods sloooowly, biting his lower lip the while. But as he nods a small smile threatens to come forth, "Just a big sloppy mess of lazy nothing."
He looks sidelong towards Thea as if to include her in the humor and then shrugs a little as he lifts a hand to rub at the back of his neck thoughtfully, "But really could kick around the city for a while. I get this vibe if I go into the family business then I won't ever come back out. Or that the me that wanders on back out won't be the me that I sorta like and am now? Like ok I'll go and help out my pop for a while and then boom all of a sudden I'm fifty and married."
    His features contort, "Horrible fate."
But then Thea starts talking to him about family traditions and for a time the youth just sort of looks at her, eerie eyes remaining level and calm. It's clear he seems... doubtful, but then a small 'heh' slips from him when he adds. "Funny you should say that..." About it being something weird. But he doesn't elaborate. Though another chuff of an exhalation is heard when she mentions dancing around the moon, a sound that would be a laugh if he gave it a little more 'oomph'.

Roy Harper has posed:
"You're building a dance club?" Roy asks of Thea, blinking a little in surprise. He clearly hadn't heard about that. "What kind of club? And if you do, that means I get to go, right? I get a pass because I'm family?" He raises both brows and looks at her hopefully. Then he pauses, "There won't be any sacrificing chickens at this dance club will there? Nothing wrong with naked dancing though." He pauses, and then says, "Not that I'm doing any naked dancing, because I'm a minor, and that would not be sanctioned," he coughs.

"I mean, doing nothing's a thing, but then you kind of end up homeless if you do enough nothing, and that's not really something you want to be, probably." Who knows, maybe Alex does? Roy doesn't entirely judge, but he figures he doesn't, not really. He chuckles at the horrible fate that Alex depicts.

Thea Queen has posed:
Oh crap... he heard that! Thea looks back at her brother as he hangs up the phone and takes those steps towards the small group again. Instead of backing out, she doubles down, "You weren't supposed to hear that."

Though, to be fair, when it comes to Roy? "Harper is good at that.. being a big, sloppy mess." It's ON.

Thea looks smugly and pulls her purse/bag so it sits on her lap, as she is sitting on the stoop. "Yeah..." Here, Thea can honestly agree. Who wants to be 50 and married? "Not my idea of fun. My luck, they'll be really hot one minute and balding and fat the next." A theatric shudder is given before she slides off the step now and regains her feet. Still, there was something... wistful in Alex's tones, and something that she could understand to a point. "I do get it, though. Trick is, try and keep being yourself." Unless it's some freaky monster master. Then? All bets are off!

Thea does take the steps towards her brother to stand with him, her expression questioning, looking into those intense blue eyes. "Hey.. everything okay? Some girl I have to beat up for you, big brother?"

Roy's interest in Thea's setting up a dance club gets that smug smile back, genuinely amused. "A pass only on 'all ages' night, Roy." Ouch. "When you hit that big 18, we'll talk about work." Family! "Because you're family, I won't interview you.. because neither of us want that."

Oliver Queen has posed:
Building a dance club... That makes Oliver roll his eyes, covertly, towards Roy. More like getting in trouble while finding a good spot. But then he is smiling faintly.. Which lasts until Roy starts talking about going into it. Then the smile just becomes more stern. That's how he lets his opinion get known about the idea of getting into that place with his age. No need for words. Just being broody, hovering.

"Nothing wrong with being 50 and married." Oliver replies to his sister. Because really, only a few years left until he gets there! "But no, all good, Thea. No need for spankings today. But so, you mentioned following on the family's footsteps. What does your family does, Alexander?" he questions, his tone staying conversational.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
"I dunno," Alexander says sidelong towards Roy, letting his grin broaden. "I'd figure out a way to make it work." The whole doing nothing thing. It has potential!
But then Thea picks up his thread about a fate worse than death and he smirks, "See, there, I have every intention of becoming fat and balding. Sounds like fun. Something to aspire to. Maybe I have it all wrong." That said he smirks a bit and offers a shrug in answer.
Though he does take a moment to tell Roy lightly, "Don't worry, I got you Roy. I know a guy. Great fake IDs." His smile slips wry, likely expecting the stink eye from the elders of that family, but then looking back and feigning innocence.
Only for Ollie to bring him back to ground with that question. "Ah, they're..." He sort of glances to the side, then back. "Old money. Mainly they're into keeping score about who insulted whom and why. But if I went to work for like, my dad? He's in construction in the city. Head of the union now, local 402." A nod is given, part of the truth, of course.

Roy Harper has posed:
There's a fading of Roy's smile when Thea mentions that he's good at being a big, sloppy, mess and his features go a little hard. He makes no quip back, hands sliding into his pockets and a tension starting to build in him that doesn't ebb at her comments about the club. He doesn't even seem to be paying attention to them, or Oliver's stern look for that matter. He's withdrawn a bit into himself, and he just stands there, listening as the others talk for the time being. Though when Alex mentions fake IDs, Roy glances sidelong at Oliver and then back to Alexander and shakes his head no, just no.

Thea Queen has posed:
"I can't picture you either 50 or married, Oliver. That just isn't a thing." 25 year olds.. they're going to live forever and 50? It's ancient!

Like Thea isn't a big ol' sloppy mess herself? She's actually got a rap sheet, even if most (okay, all) has been helped by the fact she comes from a family with resources. It's nothing she's not. Only, she works one day at a time to //not// be, and owns it. For the most part.

Not that Thea doesn't notice Roy's withdrawing. She does. She just can't do anything about it right now is all.

"Hey," Thea veritably chirps, "uh.. when are classes done again?"

Sigh.

Oliver Queen has posed:
Oliver seems used to this. The dysfunctional type of way the family works. But it is what it is. So he just nods towards Roy, not even appearing to care too much about the mention of fake IDs. He has done his own share of that stuff in the past! Even if he is often known as Mr. Judgement. "You know you shouldn't take it to heart." because Thea can just speak without thinking sometimes! But he leaves that part out. It's implied in his gaze.

Then to Thea he says, "So I am dying in the next few years? I am hoping not." Considering his lifestyle though... "But as you know I think you should start thinking about that sometime soon." The married or getting to be 50!?

Still, he eyes Alexander once again, considering him. "Old money? Maybe I know who your father is." he then says, turning fully towards Alexander. "What is his name?"

Alexander Aaron has posed:
The tension doesn't go unnoticed, and it leaves Alexander with nothing too obvious, but he does look curiously between Thea and Roy, soft hazel eyes flitting between the two but he doesn't comment. Instead it's his turn to leap hold of that conversational thread and take grasp of it, lifting his chin.
"Two weeks left, the 22nd?" He says that last syllable there a little longer than normal, looking over at Roy as if to get confirmation from him before he tilts his head to look back at the others. "So. Pretty soon really."
Then Oliver Queen offers another lifeline for the conversation and he tells him, "John Aaron, sir. Though he changed it when he came over from the old country. Our family name is Alympos." Again, that might be true as well. To a certain extent.

Roy Harper has posed:
"Yeah," Roy says when Alexander looks for confirmation about the end of classes. "Soon," he agrees though he's otherwise quiet. He listens as Alexander talks about his own family, but the name's unfamiliar and doesn't seem to get any reaction from him. For now, he just lets the others talk, making a study of his shoes.

Thea Queen has posed:
If the Queen family is relying on her to pass the family genetics down, they're in trouble. Thea shakes her head, "I'm not thinking about anything." Obviously!

No one ever said the Queens were 'normal', much less 'fuctional' as far as society is concerned. Still, it does seem to work for them, after a fashion, and they seem content in it enough not to alter the course.

Thea takes a step towards Roy, and her voice lowers to almost a whisper, "Hey.. you and me." That's all she says on the matter, and looks up, smiling tightly. Yup, she deserved that one. Full speed ahead and damn the torpedoes!

Ollie's checking on the family brings her attention around; perfect! Something else to check up on. But, it's probably for the best that she back out graciously.. and she steps back again to stand beside her brother.

"I... should probably go.." she murmurs.

Oliver Queen has posed:
Alympos." That makes Oliver consider, one hand up to brush upon his light blond beard. Has he heard the name? Maybe! But a Queen never spills their secrets. So he simply offers a nod. "Quite curious. But then again Happy Harbor has always been known to have the interesting type of students."

A glance then given to Thea. "Do you mean we?" because he did drive them here! "But maybe we should." a look is then given to Roy. "We will catch you later, come by the mansion again sometime soon?" he suggests.

"It was good to meet you, Alexander." The smile is there, but there is a scrutiny upon his eyes at the young man.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
"Sir," Alexander answers back to Oliver with a nod, lifting a hand in turn to Thea as she makes to depart as well. "Nice chatting with you folks."
And as he stands there while the Queens depart, the young demi-god chews on his lower lip thoughtfully then glances askance toward Roy and he says a little, "Your family is kinda nice." A pause as he looks back at the retreating forms of Ollie and Thea, then adds. "A lil weird, but nice."
