Cast of Characters: Rose Wilson, Conner Kent

Rose Wilson has posed:
The big giant shadow crap is over? Maybe? Who knows, over enough that they are able to retreat to Rose's crappy apartment, and she's perched in the window that leads out to the fire escape. She's changed out of her armor and into a pair of pj bottoms and a tank top, a lit cigarette in her hand as she stares out into the murky city beyond her window.

Conner Kent has posed:
There was a huge flash of light over Metropolis, and the skies cleared pretty quickly after that. So, chances are good it is over. By the time Rose got to her apartment, Metropolis was out of sight and the usual gloomy day of Gotham also felt pretty normal.

Fact is the days are longer, and soon Gotham will have it infamous 'I am melting' days. Because Gotham can't have decent weather. Ever. It is forbidden.

It is nearly an hour after the shadow monsters vanished when Conner drops by. He promised to fix the wall, after all. He climbs up the fire escape to meet Rose, "oh, hey!" He greets, "you left too quickly," he knows because he looked for her! "Superman is alive."

Rose Wilson has posed:
Sometimes, a girl knows when being somewhere is time to stop...being...there. Anyways, she knew it was time to go, for her. So there is an easy shrug of her shoulders when he mentions that she left too quickly.

"Alive?" Rose raises a brow at him, then she shifts her feet off the windowsill, opening up some space in case he wants to sit, or come inside, "How do you feel about that?"

Conner Kent has posed:
"You could, you know, have been a hero today," and getting the good part: handshakes form heroes, maybe a picture in the newspaper, an invitation to the Titans barbeque night. She like parties, Conner knows. Instead she vanished like... like Batman! Damn Batman.

And the question. About the thing he doesn't want to think about.

He slumps. "No freaking idea."

Rose Wilson has posed:
Would they have invited her? Somehow doubtful, even if she had stayed to slash shadowblobs. She probably wouldn't have gotten hand shakes or invitations, either way. In her opinion. If she knew that had been on offer.

"Could I?" Rose shakes her head at him, taking a drag from the cigarette in her hand before she flicks it out into the street beneath them, a hand reaching up to grab his arm to pull him down next to her, "You've got to have an opinion."

Conner Kent has posed:
"I dunno, Rosie," replies Conner, taking a seat on the fire escape, in front of her window. "I never had a father or any kind of family but the gang. Like if Robin is my older brother, and Imp my younger brother. But then Superman would be like the father that died before I met him, y'know. Except not really, because it has only been three years. And yet three years is all my real life. Before that I have fake memory implants and disjointed virtual reality stuff."

Rose Wilson has posed:
"I don't understand half of that." Rose replies with a stare at him, her brows furrowing just a fraction, "You've never had a real life...and dad's aren't all they are cracked up to be. And he wouldn't be like...maybe sort of like the father that died before you met him. But does he even know you exist?"

Conner Kent has posed:
"Heh, I am a pretty public figure," comments Conner. Then again, if he was dead-dead until yesterday, he might not know him. But Superboy used to be in the newspapers a lot (and not always for good things). As for who he is, he will know right away if he check the Justice League's records. Or with Star Labs.

"Hey, I have a real life," protests the young man. "Three years of real life. And it was pretty awesome."

Rose Wilson has posed:
"But that doesn't mean he knows //you// or what you are. Or who. You could be just another super hero, flying around with a flapping cape." Even if there is no cape.

Rose gets to her feet inside the apartment, leaving him sitting out on the fire escape as she heads in the direction of the kitchen, continuing to speak at a normal level since she knows he can hear her without raising her voice, "Are you going to say hello to him?"

Conner Kent has posed:
"Leather jacket," mutters Conner. Much better than capes. Even though Superman's cape really worked for him. Maybe he will try one someday. It works for Robin, too!

He ducks into the apartment, closing the window behind him. Never mind there is a hole in the wall. "I suppose I should go see him, yeah. Maybe tomorrow." Procrastinating is not something Conner does. But there is always a first time.

Rose Wilson has posed:
"Why not now?" Rose counters as she pulls open the fridge, reaching inside to grab a bottle of cheap beer that she probably stole or had someone buy for her. She's certainly not old enough to have bought it herself.

"You shouldn't wait, because if he's a jerk the fast you find out, the faster you can move on from him." She twists the cap off the beer, tossing it into the trash before she steps back out into the living room.

Conner Kent has posed:
"Because he is Superman," replies Conner. Which is not an explanation outside his own head. Then he realizes he is talking about father figures with the girl with the world's worst father. It makes no sense. Doubly so because Rose's attitude about his terribad father makes no sense either.

"I need to think about it first," he decides. "And since you didn't want to come to the victory party, what are you doing the rest of the day?"

Rose Wilson has posed:
"There was a victory party?" Rose frowns a bit, looking like she //might// just be disappointed at the lack of party. But then in answer she just shrugs her shoulders, lifting the beer in her hand.

"You're looking at it. I'm going to drink, and clean my guns."

Conner Kent has posed:
"I told you about the barba... oh," Conner raises his hands in a hopeless gesture. "That's a lame party," he concludes.

Then he turns to the hole in the wall. "I better fix this before the night. Knowing Gotham it will snow or something." He heads out, "I'll be back in thirty." With stuff to plaster it there telekinetically while it hardens. Looks like Rose is stuck with him the rest of the day.
