- Sunny Harlow has posed:
An oldschool, classic and outright retro diner...one that she -didn't- work at, that was enough for Sunny! The blonde was sitting in a booth, her sketch book set in front of her and one hand nursing a mug of hot cocoa while the other tapped her pencil against the paper that so far only had a few static poses and outlines.
- Xiomara Rojas has posed:
After classes and then some work, it was time for something to eat and chill time away from other aspects of her life. Since the construction company she was working for was in the area, and she'd seen the diner a few times, she decided it was the perfect place.
Striding through the doors like she owned the place, used to being stared at for her pale while skin, black skin markings around her eyes, and being over six feet in height... she ignored the looks as she surveyed the place. All of the tables were taken, and the one seat at the counter that might be available looked sketchy. If she sat on it, she was sure it would break.
Spotting a lone woman sitting at a booth table, she considered a moment if she should ask or just leave. After a few seconds of thought, which was more than enough time for her Czarnian brain to weigh the pros and cons repeatedly, she approached the booth.
"Um hey, excuse," she started politely as she could manage. "Place seems pretty full up, you mind if I sit here? I won't bother ya or nothin."
- Sunny Harlow has posed:
Normally inspiration wasn't so...scarce, but perhaps even design students and superheroes could run into a block now and then. Honestly? The problem was that too much of what she'd been trying for had ended up looking...well, derivative, clearly too close to one of her previous costumes or those like the others she'd been around. She needed something new, or to do a different direction or...something.
It wasn't going well.
A blink, the girl actually looked a little startled by being addressed, a little laugh before nodding and gesturing to the space across from her. "Go for it. If you don't mind a little wallowing into my hot chocolate."
- Xiomara Rojas has posed:
A brief smile is offered before Crush slides into the booth across from the blonde, setting her backpack beside her on the bench. "Best way to wallow is hot cocoa," she offers, then extends her hand as she says, "I'm Crush, an thanks... just want some coffee an peace, ya know?"
Waiting for the waitress to come by, she orders coffee plain, then her attention shifts to her pack. She promised not to bother the woman, but she was curious. She hadn't missed the sketch pad, or the pencil tapping against it.
"You a artist?" she asks, braving the chance the woman would toss her out of the booth.
- Sunny Harlow has posed:
"Crush?" she repeats, a little blink for a moment before shrugging and taking her own up in hand. "Sunny," she offers lightly before the question that follows her brings a little soft laugh and shake of her head. "Not quite, I'm a design student. Working on...well, I'm still figuring that out. It's meant to be extra-credit but so far it's really just extra stress."
- Xiomara Rojas has posed:
One hand in the backpack, the other watching Sunny, the woman's reaction to her name causes Crush to grin rather broadly. Sometimes you have to take pride in the littlest things, and it was the nickname given to her on the streets that became her hero name.
"Yeah, not my given name," is offered with a soft chuckle. "I just go by it cause it's fitting..." she pauses in speaking when the coffee is set on the table, then promptly adds some sugar to it.
"So uh... what kinda things ya normally design?" comes the next question as she stirs the sugar in. "I'm a biology major myself, so no designin, just discoverin."
- Sunny Harlow has posed:
"Oh, neat!" Sunny seems to take in her stride. Maybe it was a mutant name? Certainly Sunny seemed to fit her namesake between her smile and radiantly blonde locks, but in her case? Well, it was actually her given name. Though that question take came as she sipped her drink brought a moment of consideration, a little shrug of one shoulder and a laugh.
"That depends...school wise? I've mostly got by with designing summer collection styled suff. Sundresses, skirts, fun tops and the like...recreationally? Mostly costumes....For cosplay sorts of things, y'know?"
Okay, mainly for heroics, but she -did- have enough pictures out there of cosplay stuff and popculture things to try not to make it look so strange when she was drawing costumes like her own as Indestructibelle.
- Xiomara Rojas has posed:
At the mention of clothing, Crush perks right up. Her back straightens, the smile broadens and she looks at Sunny's sketch pad page. Her tone is suddenly a mixture of excitement and cheer, though no where near Sunny's. "Seriously? That is fricken cool, Sunny."
"I considered cosplay, but..." she gestures to her pure white skin and the black markings around her eyes. "Humans just tell me ta be Gene Simmons from Kiss, really ticks me off." She snorts and lets that hint of annoyance slip away.
"I can't draw for shit," she then admits bluntly. "An I don't do fashion real well either, got my own style... but I ain't got a uh..." she leans a little toward Sunny to whisper, "... costume."
- Sunny Harlow has posed:
"It would be cooler if I could actually find inspiration," Sunny admits with a little laugh and gestures to the page with the notably undecorated forms of masculine and feminine shapes. "I mean, winter stuff is...trying to come up with something new that doesn't look like you're just rugged up like 'A christmas tale' or alternatively like you're vacationing in switzerland is...well, it's a line I'm struggling with."
The mention of the skinand the snort brings a little laugh and a shrug before she shakes her head. "But you're so distinct, why try to look like anyone else anyway?"
The little whisper, Sunny might -look- a little like a stereotype (hell she actually -was- a varsity cheerleader!) but that didn't mean she was slow on the uptake. "I'd -love- to be able to design the more 'practical costumes' but...I don't know where people get all these super materials and bulletproof stuff. Leather or spandex doesn't tend to stand up to gunfights or building fires...I imagine anyway."
- Xiomara Rojas has posed:
Taking a sip of her coffee, Crush nods a few times in response to lack of bullet spandex. "I lose a lot of clothes ta it," she sighs. "I'm damn near unbreakable, but my clothing? Shred, burns, gets bullet holds, slash marks, gooey from giant insects in the sewers."
She sits back a little, so as not to be crowding Sunny over the table. "For winter, it should be bout patterns, colors, and lines... an that's the only helpful statement I got." She laughs, offering a bit of a guilty smile at the end. "Sorry, I ain't fashionable, an don't need winter clothing... but if I did, I'd want it light an moveable, like wool an fleece."
