Cast of Characters: Dick Grayson, Stephanie Brown

Dick Grayson has posed:
It's another chilly December night in Gotham City. The kind of night most normal people spend indoors, or at least somewhere out of the elements. The bat family is, almost by definition, not normal. And so, Nightwing finds himself swinging down from a roof and hopping into the Nightbird, currently clad in it's bat body, blue and black with armor over the important areas. He's grabbing his vehicle for an important reason - he's supposed to grab some food and meet Batgirl on the roof of Gotham Bank for a dinner break.

Pulling into the Burgerville drive through, he orders combo meals for both of them, paying with cash once he can get the cashier to stop staring. He doesn't get away without an autograph, but he doesn't mind that sort of thing. Pulling out onto the streets, he makes his way towards the center of downtown, slipping the car into an alley near the bank.

A few moments later he's gliding from rooftop to rooftop, then uses his ascender to scale the bank building.

<< Ok, dinner is served. >>

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Stephanie Brown is sitting on one of the gargoyle waterspouts that adorn the corners, disgorging a stream of water to keep it from gathering on the roof when it rains. Thankfully no rain tonight, just a chilly wind.

Batgirl has a purple scarf that matches her costume colors about her neck. Not that the costume itself isn't quite warm. So it seems more likely a style choice.

She looks up as the grappling hook comes flies over the edge and secures itself, and she hears Nightwing's voice on comms. She waits until he reaches the top then swivels on her gargoyle seat to face him. "Was the line very long?" she asks with a grin before hopping up, and moving to give him a hug and to nuzzle a kiss to his cheek.

Dick Grayson has posed:
Nightwing gives her a one armed hug as he's balancing a bag and drinks in the other hand. "Nah, not at this time of night. I got away with only one autograph for the cashier. Given the lack of comms, I assume nothing has blown up, been broken into or just generally gone to hell so far, right? Hopefully the bad guys can wait just a bit longer to make trouble so we can at least get a meal in."

Using a handy duct junction as a table, he puts down the food and drinks. "Let's see, this is your stuff.." putting one of the drinks and a bag in front of her, "and this is mine." He sits down on the ducting, opening his bag and taking out the burger. "The only trouble with these rooftop dinners is how fast everything gets cold, you have to scarf everything fast."

Stephanie Brown has posed:
"You are absolutely the best!" Batgirl says as she takes the bag, opening it up with one hand while taking a sip from her drink with the other. "I planted a few bugs and cameras around that Triad underground casino, but still have to get some inside," she says, catching Nightwing up on the night's proceedings. "The dealers are mostly huddled indoors, only coming out to their corners when a car stops," she says. "Even the criminals making way for Mother Nature tonight," she says.

She gets some fries while they are hot, they drop off in quality the most when they get cold, compared to her Big Belly Burger. "Well, on the good side, you really can't beat the view," she says, looking over at the Gotham nighttime cityscape. Buildings lit up. A couple of spotlights over at some opening. Barbara's blimp floating above the city.

Dick Grayson has posed:
Nodding in agreement, Nightwing replies "I'll give you that one, Gotham can be kind of pretty when you're up above all the ugliness." He takes a bite of his burger, then continues after swallowing "At least in the winter there's a bit less crime." He chuckles then continues "Your average criminal doesn't like being cold any more than anyone else. I'm just glad I built a warming system into the armor."

He takes a drink of his soda then looks over at her, "I'm pretty sure we can make you a heated suit if you want. It's a touch more difficult in a cloth outfit like yours, but I think we can manage if you like." A couple fries get eaten before he finishes by saying "Rooftops are no fun without heating when the snowstorms start."

Stephanie Brown has posed:
"I've got a heated one, though just heavily insulated should be good enough for tonight," she says, nibbling a few more fries before finally taking her first bite from the burger.

"Mmmmm," she says, drumming her feet a bit. "That really hits the spot," Stephanie says, wiping a bit of Big Belly Burger sauce from the corner of her mouth. "So any thoughts on what you'd like to do for Christmas and New Years this year?" Stephanie asks, leaning back against the gargoyle again as she continues to eat. "Thought maybe we could go sledding up on Suicide Hill," she suggests. "Once there's some snow."

Dick Grayson has posed:
"I wouldn't mind some sledding. And if you want, we can go somewhere for the holidays. Maybe a ski chalet in Switzerland? Or we could try to herd all the various bats into some form of Christmas gathering. Perhaps a party at Wayne Manor out of costume in case anyone is dating a regular person. I hear Damian's dating Gabby but she's an Outsider, so basically not a huge security risk but I have no clue what Jason or Tim might be up to. I would assume Cass isn't dating, she's never really shown any inclination for such things."

He looks over and asks, "What do you think, can we pull off something that will actually interest our rather eclectic group? It's pretty rare to get more than a couple of us together."

Stephanie Brown has posed:
"I think we can manage it," Stephanie agrees before taking another bite of her burger. She slurps on her soda, setting the cup down then to free up a hand to get some more of the fries. "Actually had a decent-sized gathering up in New York the day after Black Friday. When you were off shopping by yourself," she says to help clarify when. Likely suspecting he was doing some Christmas shopping for her. He would have seen her text going out and seeing who else was up in New York for the day and wanted to get together. Resulting in a gathering at a pub a few blocks from Rockefeller, called The Wick.

"And yep, Damian had Gabby there. I don't think she knows people's identities," she says. "So regular gathering probably best, yes. Hmm, I don't know if people would be into a tree trimming party? Maybe just Christmas Eve gathering?"

Dick Grayson has posed:
"Yeah, I think the Christmas Eve party would go over better. I can't really see Jason or Damian having much interest in decorating. Or Bruce, for that matter. We've got a better shot at getting people to a regular party type of thing."

Another bite of burger is followed by some soda. "As for New Year's, I hear Sydney has a pretty crazy celebration. Maybe we fly down there, rent a yacht and enjoy the harbor fireworks as well as the beaches and scuba diving? I've always wanted to take a trip there, what do you think?"

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Stephanie still hasn't really gotten used to thinking of all the places in the world that they can go and do interesting things like that. "That... that sounds like it would be amazing. And it's summer, so I can work on my tan. And make Jordanna green with envy when I get back," she say with a little mischievous joy.

"And I can get you in a bathing suit," she says, letting her eyes roam down Nightwing's body. People might think the costume's armor is molded to that musculature, but Stephanie knows the truth of it. She gives a little suggestive eyebrow wiggle at what she sees before looking back up to grin at him.

Dick Grayson has posed:
He winks at her before saying "You do look good in a string bikini. Or less, though you need to be careful not to sunburn sensitive bits." He chuckles and says "I'll make the arrangements when we get home. Shall we plan on a week there, or do you want to stay longer?"

He pauses, then stands and looks over the edge of the building, then shakes his head and sits back down. "Just some people arguing. So, Austrialia, how much time off would you like?

Stephanie Brown has posed:
"Probably a week is long enough. Not that I wouldn't want to stay longer, but between classes and... well, this," Stephanie says, motioning to the Gotham rooftops where they spend so many evenings, "Probably best not to be away too long."

She slurps on the straw of her drink audibly, then says, "Will just have to make sure that you spread plenty of suntan lotion on me," she says, giving Dick a playful smile.

"Speaking of people arguing, should we don some disguises and go hit that underground casino to plan some stuff inside of it?" she asks.

Dick Grayson has posed:
He nods, "Once we finish eating, sure. As always, I've got a bunch of costumes in the trunk. We can change into something inconspicuous and do a little physical recon. We'll see what they've got going inside there. Honestly, if they're not doing anything besides gambling, I'm half inclined to just let them be. But if I know the Triads, we're probably looking at human trafficking and drugs as well. They're depressingly predictable."

He pops his final fry into his mouth, then gathers up the wrapper from his burger and his napkin, putting them into the now empty food bag so that he can dispose of it later. "Let's get going, I promise to only peek a little while you change." He grins and jumps off the roof, spreading his gliding wings so that he can bank in the direction of his car.
