Cast of Characters: Alex Summers, Jennifer Kale

Alex Summers has posed:
The roller jam was greatness and he wasted no time in calling her the next day (Sunday) just to touch base and see if he could schedule seeing her again. He had a full schedule for the week and since he's up in Westchester, getting down into the city would take planning and free time on his part. He scheduled another Friday and to meet her in Battery Park. The park at the southern most tip of Manhattan Island. There's a subway station there that makes life pretty easy to get to and from. The time of the meeting, 8pm.

It's snowing. Decently heavy flakes are coming down and the wind is light. Battery park is generally devoid of most people at night - especially when it's snowing. The noises of the city are to the north and harbor noises to the south, west, and east. A tug boat chugs by heading toward one of the piers. The overcast sky is illuminated by the city lights (mostly sodium vapor) giving it an orange tint.

Upon her arrival, Jenn could find the park serene. However, there's always trouble. Especially when mutants are involved.

The East Coast Memorial is where they were to meet. https://i.imgur.com/PRw7ZQH.jpg https://i.imgur.com/PRw7ZQH.jpg . However, Jenn finds him not alone, at all. Instead, there are three women standing around the fallen form of Alex. One has a psychic leash from her right hand that outstretches to envelop his head. A green haired girl wearing a psychedelic patterned outfit that seems to be focusing an energy from two outstretched hands, also striking Alex's head. (the colors are very pretty) Though he stares up at her, his eyes glazed over. And the third woman sniffs the air, detecting a new scent.

Jennifer Kale has posed:
Jennifer was more than happy to hear from Alex again so soon, readily agreeing to meet him Friday night. With place and time set, goes through her week with a sense of growing anticipation. By the time Friday rolls around, she can't keep the smile off her face, going through her normal routine, but ending it with getting ready for the date.

She goes for a warm undershirt and thick winter leggings topped by a plush chenille sweater dress, a pair of thick, colorful boot socks paired with sturdy winter boots. Her hair is left loose to help cover her neck, a blue fleece headband to cover her ears.

She doesn't bother with traditional transport, teleporting herself to a nearby secluded spot and walking towards the Memorial. Pink touches her cheeks from the cold air, that smile touching her lips as she hurries towards it... then slides to a stop at the scene before her.

Calling up her 'uniform', her eyes starting to glow red as she surrounds herself in a mystical shield and rushes forward. "HEY! GIT TH' FUCK OFF MY MAN!" She follows the shout with blast of bright blue mystical energy towards the woman that seems to have him hypnotized.

Alex Summers has posed:
When Lupa (sniffing the air girl) detected the scent, she somehow warned the others of the intrusion. Perhaps a low growl, perhaps a mental something. Either way, she's made the others ready for an encounter.

However, Vertigo (green hair) wasn't ready for a blaster as much as she would have liked. She saw the mystical blue energy coming toward her and she leaned to the side to try and avoid it. Instead of dodging, she got clipped by the assault, spun around on her heel and went down to catch herself with a knelt, three pronged landing. She's hurt, but not out.

Lupa snarls and says, "Maaaagic!" as she runs on all fours toward Jennifer. She says, while loping toward Jennifer, "I'll rip your throat out!" And she leaps with the attack, claws out.

Meanwhile, Leash (girl with psychic thing around Alex's head) looks to the new arrival and kneels down to whisper into Alex's left ear. He blinks and looks at Jennifer while Leash relays information.

Jennifer Kale has posed:
Jennifer curls her lip right back at the wolfy girl and waves a hand in her direction, "Watch out fer th' first step, bitch.." And a portal will open right in front of the running Lupa, not giving her much of a chance to dodge out of the way or halt before she tumbles through it. The other end of the portal, unfortunately for Lupa, would deposit her on the torch of the Statue of Liberty. "It's a dilly."

Turning her attention to Leash, she whispers softly under her breath and starts stalking towards the woman, her eyes darting between the woman and Alex, "Ya set him loose, or I won't be so nice t' ya as I was t' yer bitchy friend." She curls a very unpleasant smile towards Leash, one hand remaining wresthed in bright blue energy, the other shifting to a malevolent red. "Th' next portal I open will go straight t' Hell.. an' ya can tell 'em Jennifer Kale sent ya."

Alex Summers has posed:
Lupa was airborne, she didn't have a chance to dodge anything. Instead, she was deposited right on the torch, her momentum remained and she grabbed the ledge before falling off.

Alex stands quickly and Leash puts her right hand on his left shoulder. The psychic connection remains. Alex's eyes present with a reddish orange tint and his hands begin to glow. Leash is mentally controlling him and it's very likely that he'll attack Jennifer in the next second or two. Leash says, "Then you'll drop us both."

Vertigo claps both her hands together and waves of dizzying vertigo nausea wubba wubba strike Jennifer's area. It's a cone attack, so area of effect. It's to disorient and distract coupled with dropping people to their knees because of the vertigo involved.

Jennifer Kale has posed:
Jennifer's smile only grows as she chuckles, "Oh, ya clearly got no idea how portals work. I could clip yer arm off at th' elbow neat as a surgeon... or maybe I should just send yer *head* t' Hell an' th' rest of ya can stay right here... nobody said th' portal's gotta be human-sized."

She glances to Alex and sighs, "Sorry hon.. but ya need to *take a nap*." Those last words uttered in a steely tone that brooks no compromise. Vegas hypnotists can mentally influence people.. but a sorceress, a witch, can put a little more 'oomph' behind it. The suggestion becomes a command. It won't hurt him, but it *should* put him out of the fight.

Then she's hit by Veritgo's wave, staggering and stumbling, catching herself. That mystical shield helps to buffer her, but it can't stop all of it. Jennifer turns a snarl onto the other woman, "Ya wanna clap, best be ready fer the clapback!" Bringing her own hands together, aimed straight at Vertigo, she chants, "Let her see her greatest fear, make it help her disappear!" The energy that hits her is more like a cloud, swirls of red and blue.

Panting lightly, she turns back to Leash and levitates up into the air about ten feet, the blaze of red at her eyes intensifying, "Yer really startin' t' piss me off. I ain't gonna say it again.. BACK. OFF."

Alex Summers has posed:
Alex drops like a sack of potatoes when he's commanded to sleep. He's always been easily manipulated. It's a huge chunk of his history.

Leash sees Alex fall and the weird attack on Vertigo. She then commands, "Retreat!" and both ladies break for the grove beyond the stone memorial monoliths. She throws down a smoke bomb that will pop, fizzzzzz, and purple smoke fills the area to cover their escape.

Vertigo was already on her way out. So she didn't need much motivation. And she's gone like the wind.

Alex lays there, unconscious, having sweet dreams. zzzzzzzz

Jennifer Kale has posed:
Jennifer watches the pair retreat, making mental notes to inquire for later. People like that, they'll be known in certain circles. Floating herself back to the ground, she moves towards Alex and crouches next to him, checking his pulse and breathing.

"Well.. you certainly know how to show a girl an interesting time, Alex Summers." She smiles lightly at his sleeping form, then presses her palm to his forehead and whispers, "Time to wake, Alex... you've had a rough enough night, I think."

Kneeling at the Memorial, his head in her lap, Jennifer will wait for Alex to wake so she doesn't have to try carrying him out of there. She could likely manage with magic, but it would be easier if he could move under his own power.

Alex Summers has posed:
His eyes open and he blinks as he tries to clear his vision. "Hey..." he says with a cracked voice and then clears his throat as he starts to sit up. "What happened?" and he starts to look around, curious and confused.

The bad girls are long gone. Taken off like a deuce in the middle of the night. He may not even remember them.

Jennifer Kale has posed:
Jennifer smiles down at him and helps him to sit up, keeping a hand on his shoulder, "You were attacked, three women.. nasty bits of work. Not even sure what they wanted from ya.. one had ya mind-controlled, one had crazy vertigo powers, third was kinda.. wolfy?" Shaking her head, she smiles and rises to her feet, holding a hand out to him.

"C'mon. Come with me, we'll get ya cleaned up an' hydrated an' warm.. make sure there's no lingerin' effects, yeah?" she smiles at him, "If ya don't mind my takin' care of ya fer a lil.."

Alex Summers has posed:
It's like he suddenly recalls the attack and his eyes sharpen as he wakes more. He says, "Savage Land Mutates... Vertigo, Lupa, and Leash. They blindsided me and Vertigo took me down. That's really all I remember. But... looks like you saved me." and he smiles while standing up. "I appreciate it."

Jennifer Kale has posed:
"Savage Land?" Jennifer isn't familiar with the place (not terribly surprising), but she gives a small nod and smiles at him. "They're gonna have a Helluva time gettin' Lupa down from her new perch. Vertigo.. well, she's prob'ly gonna be pretty shook for awhile. Leash, though... I was startin' t' wonder if I'd have t' get a little more... violent.. with her." She slips an arm around his waist and smiles up at him, "Anyways, yer call, Alex. Do ya wanna finish th' date or do ya wanna call it fer tonight?"

Alex Summers has posed:
He looks around while Jennifer speaks and ponders the situation. "I doubt they'll be back. But what did they want? Why are they even on continent?" Then he looks back to Jennifer and says, "Savage Land is a gigantic biodome in Antarctica. It's filled with prehistoric beasts. Think Jurassic Park, but bigger, and way more dangerous. There are people living down there, mutates. Like the three that you routed. If they're back on the continent, then they're up to something pretty big."

Then he gets around to thinking about the here and the now. "We should probably get off the streets. Do you live near here? We could order in, and watch something from Blockbuster?"

Jennifer Kale has posed:
Shaking her head, she looks at him, "Not sure, at th' moment it looked like what they wanted was *you*. Wasn't bout t' let 'em have ya, so I chased 'em off. That Leash bitch had ya under her control." Jennifer purses up her lips when he goes into what the Savage Lands are, "Yeah, that don't sound good. Well, I'm good t' kick their asses more if ya need th' help."

Nodding, she smiles, "Yeah, I got an apartment not far. But just t' be on th' safe side..." Jennifer flings a hand out to open up a portal into what looks like a very neat little studio apartment, "In case they try t' circle back round..." She'll help him through the portal, letting it close behind them.

The apartment is a ground floor apartment, a studio, with a decent sized bathroom and a somewhat small kitchen. The living/dining/bedroom area is made easier by the murphy bed/cabinet built-in along one wall. "Tadaaaaaaaaa..."

Alex Summers has posed:
He's not injured, just a bit dazed still from the mental foo that Leash had him under. He steps through with her and looks around with a slight smile, "Oh this is a great place." And he'll move to lean against a counter. Maybe he's a little more dizzy than he lets on. Vertigo had his head spinning.

Jennifer Kale has posed:
She smiles at him, "Thanks. Whoa, hey... lets get ya sittin' down, kay?" Jennifer will move to help him over to the sofa, easing him down. "If yer head is spinnin', put it between yer knees an' breathe. I'll get ya some water." Moving to the kitchen, she'll grab a bottle of water for him, carrying it back to the sofa and sitting down next to him with a smile, her free hand coming up to rub in slow circles at his back, "Doin' okay?"

Alex Summers has posed:
He'll be moved to where she moves him and takes a seat. The sofa is nice and stabilizes him pretty well. He leans back, then decides he's going to lean forward and hang out there for a bit. He answers, "Oh yeah... great. I've been hit by Vertigo before. She and Whiteout combined is the worst. Blind and dizzy. Hey, so no flashy lights movie. Cause probably wouldn't be able to handle that." and he grins thinking about the ramifications. "But my head will clear in a few min."

Jennifer Kale has posed:
"Maybe next time I should pick ya up fer th' date," Jennifer teases him gently, still rubbing at his back and hoping it will help somehow. She chuckles softly and gives a nod, "No Willy Wonka, got it. What sorts movies d'ya like t' watch? Anythin' in particular? Genre ya like or don't like?" Moving her hand up, she starts working the back of his neck with one hand. "Also... what's yer preference foodwise?"

Alex Summers has posed:
"How about Vietnamese?" He will close his eyes and mmmms with the massage of his neck. He also becomes warmer. "And maybe something easy on the brain. RomCom. Sweet Home Alabama?" He offers a slight grin and sits up showing the dizziness is clearling.

Jennifer Kale has posed:
"Oooooo, if we're doin' Vietnamese, we gotta get pho from this place nearby... SO good. They keep th' brothe separate from th' rest of th' ingredients so nothin' is mushy or overcooked. An' they got th' best damn goi cuon.. awesome lil spring rolls. An' the Banh goi is like... I can't even describe it, drizzle it with some sweet chili sauce... I'd do a lot fer that dish." Jennifer is clearly down for VIetnamese. The movie choice has her chuckling and considering, "Hmmmmmmm... I see yer Sweet Home Alabama an' raise ya Hope Floats. Harry Connick Jr. is a hot, hot cowboy."

Alex Summers has posed:
"I love Harry." He says with a broadening grin. "Okay, so you order and if you don't mind. I'll borrow your shower. I wanna get the Savage Land stink off me. If that's okay?"

Jennifer Kale has posed:
"I'll get on th' horn right now. Help yourself t' th' shower. If ya want, I can toss yer stuff into th' washer, too. That way yer clothes won't smell like 'em," Jennifer smiles at him, "I even promise not t' peek. Just toss 'em into th' hall before ya jump into th' shower. Not sure I got anythin' that'll fit ya, but I got a robe ya can use while yer clothes are washin'." Pausing, she adds, "It's guy-sized cause th' type I wanted I couldn't find in girl sizes. So... huge on me, but should fit ya fine."
