Cast of Characters: Singularity, Doreen Green

Singularity has posed:
There are some places that once Singularity has discovered, have become instant favorites and no matter where the young universe is? She will immediately teleport to them in order to take a break, regroup, or just enjoy.

She doesn't remember who introduced her to the ice cream shop, but it was an instant favorite. And now, she comes here any time she's come across a little money in order to exchange it for ice cream and just try something different.

Tonight? She is sitting at the counter, a large salty pimp in front of her as she's digging in with her spoon. Taking a bite, she brings her hands up to her cheek and giggles as she feels the brief cold sensation as it dances over her tongue and disappears into the abyss beyond. A little wiggle in her chair, and she's preparing for another bite!

Doreen Green has posed:
It has been a long couple of days for Doreen Green, the Unbeatable Squirrel Girl! Finding missing squirrels, tracking them to Gotham (partially by lucky guess), helping another hero who was themed after a bird totally whoop the ass of the baddie doing it, and then getting all those squirrels back to their proper homes in all three of the main cities! Plus keeping an eye out for any more 'dapper dressed up animals' sightings.

She may be unbeatable, but she's not untireable. Which would be why upon opening the door to the shop she stops to lean against for it for a moment. "Sweet Spanish Almonds I'm bushed... moreso than the tail." Said tail is drooping close to half-mast behind her. "I say we get something sweet for a snack and get back to the campus. I've probably got a big pack of homework waiting for me too." The grey squirrel with pink bow sitting on her shoulder chirrups an agreement as Doreen finally releases the door and ambles over to the counter. For the moment not even noticing the oddly appearing girl already sitting there.

Singularity has posed:
That does sound like tiring work! Singularity takes another bite of her ice cream and 'mm-hmms!' in appreciation. That is, until she hears the clatter of the bell on the door and she looks up. When the young woman walks in, Sing swivels in her chair, one star-covered leg crossing over the other as she ambles up to the counter.

The little squirrel on Doreen's should draws Singularity's attention first and she lifts her hand, giving a little wave to the creature, excitement showing in the whites of her eyes as she stops eating for a moment. Now, how to get the attention of the other woman. Think... looking her over, she finally decides.

"I like your tail!" she announces brightly. "It appears very soft. Warm." There, that should break the ice, right?

Doreen Green has posed:
It's not uncommon for one part of the pair to be paying more attention than the other. This time it's Tippy-Toe the squirrel as Doreen has fixated her attention on the menu. She's waved at, and waves a forepaw back... then does a sort of squirrelly double-take at seeing space and stars in the shape of a person. Tippy reachs over to paw at Doreen's cheek trying to get her attention.

"Hey Tippy, stop it, I'm trying to read!" Then someone comments on her tail. At about the same moment Tippy-Toe hmphs, climbs on the back of Doreen's head and tries to make her turn and look. Though she mainly does so in response to the compliment. "Thanks! It is very soft and warm--"

And Singularity comes into view.

Blink. Blink. "Whoa. Is that a costume? Is it too cliche to say it looks full of stars?" Tippy-Toe slaps a forepaw to her face at the last one.

Singularity has posed:
There's a laugh, a delighted little noise, and behind it, one could almost hear the stars in it themselves tinkling around. "Can I hug it?" Because she is totally curious how the tail feels. But she remembers her manners and clears her throat, her hands to her lap as she feels a little blush that starts as a pair of nebulas in her cheeks that blossom a soft red and purple.

"No. I am told that alot. Because it is!" the young universe explains as she reaches up to brush her hair, made the same stuff as the rest of her, over her shoulders. "I am Singularity." she offers in introduction.

"I am a pocket universe. Sentient. So I have stars. Galaxies. Nebulas. All the neat stuff!" And with that, she is turning to take another bite of her ice cream, delighting in it and back to Doreen. "Your squirrel is cute." She reaches into her chest, feels around and pulls out a dark purple ribbon. "I have one that I wear as a bow sometimes."

Doreen Green has posed:
"A sentient pocket universe... That is so cool!" The moment has perked the gal back up a fair bit, patting a hand against her chest. "I'm Doreen Green, the Squirrel Girl! Bright eyes, bushy tail, and all the proportional abilities of a squirrel!" She does a bit of an exaggerated large smile to show she's even got the buck teeth like one. "And this," she pats the squirrel on the head, "Is Tippy-Toe. Yes, she is cute."

Tippy-Toe accepts the patting, but then squeaks and waggles her paw. Aren't you forgetting something?

"What.. what.. oh, yeah! Sorry, moment." She turns back to the counter. "One Monday Sundae and One Rocky Roadhouse please!" To the surprise of no one orders involving nuts or Nutella.

Singularity has posed:
"That sounds very impressive!" Singularity offers. "I can do things. Teleport. Create a black hole. Fire energies. I guess I am proportionate to a universe!" She laughs, having actually never thought of that until Doreen had put it in persepective for her.

"Hello." She offers warmly to Tippy-Toe. And then listens as she places her order. "Oh! I have had the Monday Sundae before. I liked it! This is the Salty Pimp. I did not understand why there was a laugh when I ordered it." She shrugs her shoulders in thought, as she takes another bite of hers.

"You are both cute." she points out in a small correction. "I think that humans are so very unique. All have different attractive qualities."

Doreen Green has posed:
Tippy-Toe chitters after the order. "After last time you're getting a sundae with a bowl." More chitters. "I know that wasn't your fault, but better safe than sorry." The back and forth seems to imply that she can understand the squirrel and vice versa, some how.

Then Doreen turns back to Singularity, not wanting to leave her out. Though for a moment she makes a scrunchy face of uncertainty. "Iiiiii think that one needs context that I can't really explain properly." Yeah that works. Nice save, Doreen. "Oh, technically I'm not 'human'." Pause, holding up her hands to do the making quotes with fingers gesture. "Not technically a 'mutant' either. It's a unspecified different kind of genetic mutation I was born with, so they call it a 'mutate' to specify the difference."

Singularity has posed:
"Oh. Ooooh." Singularity says, looking thoughtful for a moment, and then she turns to face the other woman. Her drink forgotten about. She draws in a 'breath' that she doesn't need and settles a hand on the center of her chest.

"I am not organic. I am. But also not. I was never human. I chose this form because I would hope others would find it pleasing. It suits me." she explains.

"I existed in the space between. Realities. Dimensions. Universes. I observed. And watched. Then. I saw this world. I saw the fight. The struggles. The pleasures. The joys. I wanted to experience it." she explains.

"I gathered myself up and became this. It is what I am. I am proud of it. I came here." The young universe bites her lip and explains. "I want to learn. To feel. Experience. Joy. Sadness. Love. Anger. I want to know what it is to be."

Doreen Green has posed:
Doreen Green shrugs a little. "I don't pretend to understand what's so different about it, it is what it is and I am what I am." Their order is brought, Doreen taking the Rocky Roadhouse in one hand and leaning on the counter with the other elbow. Both so she can look at Singularity and so Tippy-Toe can scurry down her arm to the counter where the sundae has been set for her. No one seems to mind the squirrel being there, they must come around fairly regularly. Though there might be some mutters in the back about 'at least there's only one this time'.

Doreen noms on her ice cream while listening to Singularity explain. Admist doing so she finds one of the almonds in her ice cream, and wiggles it into place with her tongue so she can properly bite it with her buck teeth into a more chewable size. "Oh, I totally get it." She uncurls one finger from the cone to point at the space girl without losing a grip on said cone. "You are like one of those stories about some divine being wanting to better understand what it is to be 'mortal' and come down to our level to live amongst humans, eh?"

Singularity has posed:
Singularity is just... intrigued by the whole squirrel thing and how Tippy-Toe is acting and just delights in it all. There's another bite of her ice cream. "It's important to be the best you you can be." she agrees between bites.

And then there is a firm shake of her head. "I am not divine. Or omnipotent. Not like the Beyonder." She frowns at that, drawing a solid line on the counter. "I just want to experience. Not lord over. Or change. Just." A shrug of her shoulders. "Experience. I have once before. Another world. Not like this one. Made friends. Felt. And then? I had to lose it all. To save my friends." There's a little noise, a hint of sadness.

"Then came back here. And those that I knew there? Do not know me here. I have to start over. And it makes me sad."

Doreen Green has posed:
"Oh, okay. You're not all-knowing, all-powerful, so on so on. No asking you if you can see why kids love Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Still the higher being coming down to earth to understand humans is an easy comparison a lot of people will understand." Pause for some more ice cream nomming. Then glancing over when Tippy-Toe comments a few chitters. "Tippy's right. Probably better than you're not all-seeing. Seeing everything and being able to do nothing would really suck."

She shifts which hand she's holding the partially eaten Rocky Roadhouse in so she can reach over to pat Singularity on the shoulder, or the approximation over. That she might not be able to completely touch her doesn't cross her mind nor does she really care. "That's both really epic and really sad that you were able to do that... It also means you now have this oppritunity to make friends again, old and new!" There's the patented Squirrel Girl Silver Lining. "Like us!"

Singularity has posed:
"I wouldn't want to be all-seeing. Or all-knowing. That sounds boring." Singularity admits. "It takes all the surprise out. Boring." she points out as she finishes off her ice cream for now. The young woman squints in thought. As if she might start to be trying to understand Tippy's chitters, that limited omni-linguistic ability teasing her. It will take some time though.

Doreen is able to touch her, in fact. Singularity's shoulder is cool to the touch. The 'skin' is a soft membrane, not-penetrable, but at the same time it gives. She'll also feel the slight warmth of the stars closest to her skin, much like small freckles that dot her entire body. And there's... nothing beneath it. No bones, no feeling of a structure. Just the soft mass that she is.

And when Doreen announces they are friends? Singularity leans into the touch. It's something she craves and wants, but more importantly. "You are friend?" comes the question, delight touching her eyes and smile. "I would be happy to call you friend, Doreen. I am able to find and come to friends easier than others!"

Doreen Green has posed:
"Ahaha, yeah, boring because of no surprises. Very true." No one is really sure what to expect in touching a living pocket universe, but the feeling is interesting in it's own way. Doreen tries not to think too hard about it, trying to figure out how she keeps herself in a humanoid form would probably make her head hurt.

Doreen glances over for a moment. "Tippy, wipe the ice cream off your mouth before someone thinks you're rabid." Tippy-Toe scoots over to grab a napkin to do so. Listen to them talk back and forth long enough and she'll probably start picking up on things. It's as much context as anything else. Context that most people don't understand.

Then back to Singularity with a big bright bucktoothed smile. "Heck yes! Making friends is the best part of meeting people!" Then she tilts her head to one side. "Find and... Oh right, you did say teleport was one of your powers. Coool." She flicks her tail over her shoulder. "You wanted to touch it?" She listens, just her train of thought sometimes jumps as much as a squirrel trying to knock acorns loose.

Singularity has posed:
Just wait until Doreen realizes that she can change size and shape as she sees fit. Singularity doesn't mind the probing touch, allowing Doreen to linger as long as she wants. There's a snicker at her commentary about the ice cream on the squirrels face. "I can learn languages." she explains. "It takes a few days. I can't speak them in return. That's kinda a lame power. Right?"

And then Doreen is offering her tail. And Singularity pauses. "If it's oh-kay?" she asks. But she's already scooting her stool closer to the other woman, just watching the way Doreen's tail sways and twitches. "Is it something you can control or does it move on it's own?"

Doreen Green has posed:
"What? No! That is not a lame power. Any power that can help you understand people is not lame.. okay, the not speaking it even if you do learn it part is probably a bit annoying though," Doreen conceeds in the end. Darts a side-eyed glance at Tippy-Toe. "And no trying to say weird things seeing if she does translate or not."

The tail is four feet of thick warm fluff, but there's a solid flesh and bone length in there somewhere too. The tip hooks around Singularity's arm when she scoots closer. "Oh, I can control it. It's prehensile. Nothing too delicate or intricate, but useful for knocking baddies off their feet and anchoring myself climbing in high places."

Singularity has posed:
"That wouldn't be fair." Singularity teases as she looks at the squirrel. "You wouldn't do that. Would you?" comes her question as he makes a little moe with her mouth and settles in. The wrap of Doreen's tail around her arm is a surprise, but not an unwelcome one.

She is pulled in and the fingers slide into the fur, over the feel of the bone that she feels beneath and she lightly traces it as she leans in a little, her side nearly pressed to Doreen's as she explains everything her tail can do. "...that is very useful." she comments with a nod of her head, considering the words. "I'm sure you have other uses for it than knocking around bad guys, though!" she points out, lifting her head and smiles at her as close as they are. "And I was right. It is very soft. And warm."

Doreen Green has posed:
Doreen Green chomps down the end of her cone while Singularity is examining her tail. "It helps keep my balance when jumping and climbing, just like a normal squirrel's -- Tippy, napkin me!" Tippy-Toe grabs a napkin and scuttles over to pass it to Doreen. "Thanks." Now she can wipe her own face off. "It's fluffy and cute... no one expects it to be used to smack them! Element of surprise!" She flicks the napkin in the trash. "It's nicer to use it to cuddle up with when it's cold, though. Sucker punching jerks is just a fringe benefit."

Singularity has posed:
There's a giggle from Singularity as she nods. "Oh, I can fly. But not as fast as most people. It's just easier to teleport." she decides. "Especially since I do not have a range on where I can teleport to." When the napkin is offered, she laughs. "You missed a spot." She taps the side of her own mouth to point out where Doreen had left a little marshmallow fluff.

More laughter comes at the suggestion of a surprise tail attack. "Just put a boxing glove on the end of it and 'Boffo!'." the young universe decides. Then there's the talk of cuddling, and Doreen may notice the small puffs of a nebula in her cheeks of soft red, a blush. "That sounds nice." she comments in agreement. "Cuddling is a good thing."

Doreen Green has posed:
"Teleporting is neat, but I can get into places other people can't being able to climb and jump really good, so it all works out." Doreen ohs softly, and Tippy-Toe climbs up onto her shoulder to dab the spot with another napkin. "Thanks." Let's see. Make sure they've paid, that's always important. Followed by a soft sigh. "I suppose, that homework isn't going to do itself." But she doesn't go without giving Singularity a brief hug, because that's another things friends do. "Cool meeting you Singularity! Next time I'll teach you more about squirrels and other cool Earth stuff!"

Singularity has posed:
Hugs are awesome. Singularity has always accepted hugs as part and parcel of a friendship. "It was very fun meeting you as well. I have a phone. If you want the number." She offers a small slip of paper with the number she writes down upon it.

"Good luck with your homework!" Something else the universe doesn't have to worry about. With Doreen leaving, she gathers herself up and prepares to teleport to parts unknown to see what next adventure awaits!
