Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty had sent Ben a text message.

> Need you in Washington Square Park this evening. 6pm at the latest. Also you need to bring some good pictures of Gwen. Different angles if you have them.

And now she's sitting waiting in the park. A banner hung between two light posts proclaims the Washington Square Park Ice Sculpture contest. And Kitty is sitting on a table next to a block of ice. There are many tools on the table. Files and chisels and hammers. And a chainsaw.

Ben Reilly has posed:
Luckily, Ben somehow intuited from the message that he was to arrive as Ben, and so he strolls up towards where Kitty is sitting. He has a number of photos of Gwen in the portfolio under his arm. He may not be Peter Parker, but he still has Peter Parker's eye for the lens, and he has no greater muse than Gwen Stacy.

He gives a wave to Kitty as he draws up closer towards her, his eyes moving towards the blocks of ice and the tools. "You're not going to ask me to carve up Gwen, are you?"

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde hops off the picnic table's bench and grins as she moves over to offer Ben a hug hello. "No, of course not," Kitty says with a shake of her head back to Ben.

"We're going to carve her together! Isn't that great! I got hot chocolate there, plenty of it, so we can stay warm. And I've done a little bit of sculpting before. I'm not great, but I can work on her face if you want to work on her body?" Kitty suggests with a grin for Ben.

"There's some irons and other hot items you can use to melt away instead of chip or file," she says.

Ben Reilly has posed:
"Oh, I am very good at working on her body," replies Ben with a wicked grin, as he moves to seek out one of the tools. "If you can do her face, I imagine that takes a bit more skill. Whereas I have..." Well, none. He looks over at the hot chocolate and then back to Kitty. "When did you get into ice scultping?"

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde lets out a little bit of a cackle. "Lucky girl," Kitty says as she picks up a chisel and a hammer to do some chipping to get the corners of the block down to something more shaped like a head.

"Oh, we did a few things in our winter carnival in Deerfield where I grew up. Though it was always kind of spotty if we would get enough cold weather to melt it," Kitty explains as she gets to work. "I have a friend who is amazing at this stuff, he'd win first place easily. Though I'm just glad he makes it easy for me to get ice if I want to do something like this in the winter. So I've carved a few things. I'm not fantastic by any means, I usually do something straightforward," Kitty says.

"So speaking of Gwen, what's she up to? Can we get her out here to see the results?" Kitty inquires.

Ben Reilly has posed:
Listening as Kitty describes the origin of her talents, Ben chuckles. "Maybe. She has been focused on a project lately, and taking work home has been something that she tries to avoid. But whatever it is, I am not allowed to know what it is." He shrugs. "But we all need to have and keep our secrets, right?"

Kitty Pryde has posed:
"Exactly," Kitty says. "Well if she can't make it here, maybe you can move it up to the roof of your building and take her up to see it later tonight," she says. "We've got... oh, a couple of hours of work. 2 and a half or three. Just doing her upper body and head is kind of a timesaving measure there," Kitty adds as she chips away.

Bits of ice fly free and splatter on the ground around them. After a bit, Kitty grabs a shovel to clear them so they don't slip and fall on them, then gets back to work. "I just chip for the really big pieces, can't really say for sure how deep a chip might break off," she adds. "I'm a little slower than some, I tend to use the iron a lot to melt away. The chainsaw people, they are the ones that amaze me."

And sure enough, the whine of those saws can be heard here and there as a couple of people are putting them to use.
