Synopsis:	In town for the day, Stephanie calls up Gwen Stacy, and the two do the Parachute Jump at Coney Island.

Stephanie Brown had taken the Hyperloop up to New York City to take care of a few things. Finishing up early she'd debated going back to the station to get back to Gotham. Where chemistry homework awaited.

Yeah. No need to rush that.

So instead she'd pulled out her phone and thumbed through her contacts to find someone in New York. Gwen Stacy's name had been a welcoming one to see. And so it was that Stephanie had called up, and arranged for the two young women to meet up at Coney Island.

Stephanie is leaning against a fence on the boardwalk, watching the rides nearby. A scream comes from a girl on the parachute drop, making Stephanie grin as she watches them slow as the parachute opens fully and they make the rest of the fall at a less fatal pace.

What is it with chemistry and homework? Not that Gwen cared too much with it because this was 'homework' out of her internship at Oscorp. One of the many things she had been learning after starting to work at Oscorp. The 9 to 5 work schedule is a lie. There's always more to do. Or maybe it's just a way of abusing interns. Still, when she gets the call from Stephanie there's a fond grin to her expression, leading to a quick setting up to meet at Coney island.

It's coldish still so Gwen comes prepared to it. Warm jacket atop her top. Dark blue skinny jeans. Sneakers. And of course a beanie hat on her head.

"There you are." She says, coming down the side of the path, bright blue eyes on her old friend, "And by the way you are looking at that I think we have found our fun for today, haven't we?" she nudging with her chin towards the parachute drop.

It's like she's a mind reader!

Stephanie Brown is also dressed for the weather. Jeans and light grey sweater slashed with blue and green, and then a windbreaker overtop of the sweater's warmth. She turns as she spots Gwen approaching, and Stephanie's face lights up with a grin of mischief as Gwen notices the parachute drop.

"I figured it might be a fun way to pass some time," Stephanie says, nodding in agreement as she continues that grin. "And probably better to do it before eating anything, right?" she asks.

If Gwen is amenable to it, Stephanie starts walking over to the line for the ride. "How're things? Oscorp internship going well? What's old man Osborn like? Always seemed a bit... taciturn. Like actually taciturn, but putting on a good face so you didn't know he was taciturn."

The suggestion that they should do it before eating gets a lift of shoulders from Gwen, as if she didn't care much either way, "This may come as a surprise to you but heights don't do much for me." or swinging in webs, or flipping in the air while dodging bullets or .... Yet that last part she doesn't share even if there's a bit of mischief in her smile as well.

"But if we don't go now I know you won't stop talking about it during lunch so...." Might as well get it out of the way! And have some fun doing it too. The question about Osborn makes her look thoughtful, "I don't see him much now. I used to back in..." she pauses, ".. when I was starting out at Oscorp." she finishes, "You are right though, he can look very broody." she agrees, hooking her arm with Steph's so they start walking to the ride.

"And you? Tell me everything. Are you still with that police officer that has that amazing..." she waggles her eyebrows instead of finishing that sentence.

A grin flashes back to Gwen as the two start moving over towards the ride. "I love it. Such a thrill looking down on everything from up high somewhere." And then leaping off before you've checked to make sure you even still have your grapple gun in your utility belt.

"Oh, they had a great looking chicken place. Chicken Piri Piri or something like that," Stephanie says, motioning over to a place that is an actual restaurant with at least a little indoor and outdoor dining area, if not very large. More than just a food stand, anyway.

"Yep, still engaged. We've been taking our time with that. I'm so busy with school and everything, figure we can wait until I'm done. I'd love a quiet little beach thing, but we might have to do the big fancy society thing for his family to not get people upset at them," she says. She grins over to Gwen slyly. "And yes. It gets nicer every years, I swear," she says before breaking out in blushing laughter.

Gwen is fully aware of the restaurant Stephanie is talking about. She may have had an 'experience' at it in the past. It's what happens when you get into a challenge with Ben and think you can survive the 'hottest chicken you can get me' challenge. "Ah, you know what Piri Piri means, I hope?" she warns Steph. Just in case she doesn't want to end up with a burning mouth like Gwen did. Or Dragon Mouth like Ben called her. She just sighs.

"I get that completely. Ben and I are still figuring things out too, I really hope the internship I got turns into being invited to work at Oscorp so I can actually start making some proper money." she grumps, "I hate being an adult."

Why can't she just be a superhero for a living? Unfair.

She laughs alongside Steph when she confirms it 'gets nicer every year', "Let's get you on this ride before you get too embarassed."

Stephanie Brown laughs along with Gwen. "I don't know, probably "hot hot" or maybe "danger Will Robinson!"" Stephanie replies, even giving little waves of her arms like the classic robot from Lost in Space. "I don't hate spicy food," she says before nodding and getting into the line for the ride.

It doesn't take long before they are riding a little elevator up to the top. "Good to know our parachutes have probably been tended by a high school student," Stephanie says with a grin over to Gwen. "Better not die, or Ben and Dick are going to be quite cross with us."

They get to the top and start strapping into the harnesses. It looks like it's just a real parachute and they get dropped, the parachute with a line on it to pull it back up to the top.

"You are getting warmer..." Gwen says as Stephanie goes through those guesses on what the word means, grinning amusedly, "Let's just say it isn't for the sensitive tongues." and she has that look that seems to tell she knows all about that already. By experience.

Once they get to the top Gwen peeks over the edge, "We are up high." she notes with an approving nod, "Also, I thought you were supposed to be the enabler and me the reluctant friend on trying this new ride. You can't just reverse the roles like that!" hands go to her hips and she just shakes her head. Shame!

"So this is like bungee jumping without the bungee.." she tells Stephanie while getting strapped up with the harness. Once they are secure she nears the edge.

"Or like parachute jumping with the fun of falling for awhile before the chute catches you," Stephanie agrees. She and Gwen end up strapped into their own chutes on adjacent parts of the round structure at the top, from which a half dozen parachutes operate at a time.

"Look at that view!" Stephanie calls over, grinning and pulling out her phone to get a quick shot of it, and then turns the phone over to capture Gwen. "After we land, we can mush something on the ground and take a picture and send Ben both of them as your before and after shots," Stephanie teases.

It's not a high schooler running it, thankfully. He gets them strapped in and says, "Ready?" And is ready to pull the lever to drop them both if they are.

The phone being turned Gwen's way means the blonde co-ed turns to it, head canted to the side with a grin, fingers up in a V motion in a pose to the camera. She's quite photogenic after all! "Cheeese!" she tells back at Steph before getting ready near the edge of the drop point. She takes in a breath. It's different doing it in her suit than as Gwen, that's for sure.

But doesn't mean she won't have as much fun as she often does as Ghost Spider!

Stephanie nods to the man, her eyes gleaming. The realization she doesn't have her grapple, or her cloak that she could glide with, do add just a little bit more tension to the moment.

And then he throws the levers and they both drops, falling for the first few dozen feet before they are going fast enough for the passing air to pop the parachutes all the way open.

After that they float down. Stephanie lets out a cry of joy and grins over to Gwen. "Now we need to go do the real thing thing together!" she calls over.

The two ladies float most of the way to the ground, before the attached wire stops them short to gently lower them the last few feet to the ground.

Then it's time for food.
