Cast of Characters: Natasha Romanoff, Kate Kane

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
It's a quiet evening in the Mansion. Sometime late at night. Natasha is sitting over in one of the side areas of the Recreation Room where she's working on a series of reports. Using a small holo display to rapidly switch among different files, skimming them, occasionally taking a hand up to pull a segment down of one to press it to another, central report.

Kate Kane has posed:
Which is when the skylight opens suddenly, apparently triggered remotely from someone on the outside. Said someone is not, naturally, a flyer by trade, but one of the Avengers that practices Falling With Style. Batwoman descends through the skylight, swooping in and catching herself at the last minute, before dropping down gracefully to land in the Rec Room.

Smiling to herself, she hits the remote in her belt to close the skylight, "Glad to see that actually worked." Her eyes flicker over towards Natasha, and she gives the fellow ginger a smile, "Hey Natasha. Paperwork?"

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanova would glance at Batwoman. "Tony's known to switch it up on occasion just to be cantankerous. There's a chance if you try that again some sort of trap will activate, likely involving netting, glue, and something that will be posted to the team's social media page." If not Tony then Clint.

"Reviewing threat profiles and biographies."

Kate Kane has posed:
Kate laughs a bit, taking off her cowl and wig as she grins, "Oh, I'm sure they'd try something like that. First thing I checked for, actually." She winks over at Natasha, "Anything interesting there to update, or just more of the same?" With that, she comes over and sits down across from Natasha, giving her a curious look. "Admittedly, I'm still feeling my way around here, New York is a little different than Gotham City."

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanova would nod, "Yes, New York has a much.. Wider array of adversaries than Gotham does." New York - it held both calendar and grammar themed supervillains, but also giant growing monster women wearing animal skins. "You pull your own weight here, you have nothing to worry about. And merely the current array of threat profiles and potential adversaries."

Kate Kane has posed:
Kate smiles, "Well, I'm still with the League too, so I'm used to punching above my weight class when the situation calls for it. Though I'm not exactly one to fight all the way fair either." She chuckles, "Life's not fair, why should I be?" Which is a pretty pragmatic thing to say, and maybe not typical of most New York superheroes.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanova would dip her head, "Of course." Says the nearly century old SHIELD Agent. "I always did have some wonderings about those that primarily operate within your city."

Kate Kane has posed:
Kate hrms, "Well, Gotham is... definitely different." She chuckles quietly, shaking her head as she glances over at Natasha, "You'd do pretty well there, but there's always been an undercurrent of something not /quite/ right about the city. Even at the best of times, and with a lot of us doing work over there. And powers don't exactly help. Honestly it feels like escalation where it just gets worse the more you bring into it. It's pretty hard to explain." So at least Bruce is surly for a /reason/ when Superman comes to visit.

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanova would shrug, "Gotham is a corrupt, festering cyst that cannot be treated, only contained. There's something off about it that almost seems like something has literally been corrupted about it's soul. That takes anything which should give it hope and a chance of digging itself out of it's suffering and snuffs it out till at most it can tread water."

Kate Kane has posed:
Kate smiles wryly at that, "Gee, thanks." She chuckles, "A bit pessimistic of you, but it definitely has some issues, to put it mildly. And yeah, they aren't easily solved... even if you can. But we do a fairly decent job of containing the damage."

Natasha Romanoff has posed:
Natasha Romanova would nod, "Yes, unfortunately there are a great number of root causes at the end of every issue that cannot directly be addressed. One can treat the symptoms.. BUt the causes, the ills.. Those are generational and only over a long period of time. Progress is hard, eternal, and easily lost."

Kate Kane has posed:
Kate nods, "And while I, and others, do have more conventional means to combat the city's ills... there's quite a few people who see a profit in keeping them going, and thus, it's a never ending struggle on multiple fronts. It can be pretty taxing. Honestly, that's why I don't mind being the 'social' Bat in that regard." She grins over at Natasha. "Keeps that hope flowing."
