- Blue GhostEyes has posed:
Of late, Blue's nephew has been questioning where his abilities come from. Since they are so similar to her own despite him being from another country and her being his adopted aunt, as well as having no idea where her own powers come from, she hasn't been able to help. She depends on the boy for a lot of things and truly loves the kid. Having recently become aquaintences with Nettie and her own adopted kids, Blue has come to the Candle to look through the books. Her research hasn't gone well. She can follow a lot of different spoken langues, reading them? Not so much.
With a sigh, the Shoshone woman wanders into the sitting room and flops into a chair. She runs a hand through her long dark hair and tucks it behind one ear. Dressed in casual biker gear, adorned with several knives and flasks she might not resemble the usual kind of guest or patron. Her eyes are a strange vertical split of dark brown and palest blue, giving her a piercing and predatory gaze.
Not having been payint attention she suddenly stiffens and looks up, nostrils flaring. "Holy child, Batman.." Blue utters softly. Whom has she walked in on? The Power she scents reminds her of.. the closest she can recall is the time she came across an angel. That One hadn't noticed her and Blue remembers being very grateful for that even if she can't recall just what life that incident happened. "Uh.. Hi." She says while hiding her surprise and bewilderment.
- Patience Alperen has posed:
At the Candle, Booke and Belle, Patience had stopped in to borrow the shower to clean up about thirty minutes ago. After an encounter with a rather belligerant demon, she was in dire need of a clean up.
Feeling better after getting the last of the ick out of her hair, she was now wearing gray leggings and a comfy, oversized, blue and white plaid flannel shirt that hangs to mid thigh. Her Magdalena armor had been cleaned as much as was practical before being placed into a large trash bag. It will need an entirely different sort of deep cleaning. But the Spear? A warrior never leaves their weapons dirty. It's a matter of discipline and respect. As Blue steps into the lounge, she is met with Patience sitting at one of the tables, a thick cloth spread over it and atop that some natural burlap. The Spear of Destiny lay atop the burlap as she carefully cleans the ancient spear tip.
As she is greeted, Patience sets the cleaning rag down and turns to smile at Blue.
"Hello." A pause. They're on the fourth floor - which means someone with, or allied to, the Justice League Dark. It means she offers a warm smile that reaches her soft brown eyes.
"I'm Patience. Mmmm. Sorry for the mess. I had a very busy afternoon...."
- Blue GhostEyes has posed:
"I..can tell." Blue can scent the residue of demon now that she's paying attention to her surroundings more. "Sorry." She takes her eyes off the covered Spear and sneezes. "Uhm. I'm Blue. Blue GhostEyes." She smiles back, just as warmly now that she's getting over her surprise and it doesn't look like any sort of smiting is about to happen to her. Blue doesn't consider herself to be a bad person but she *is* a predator.
"You're not hurt or anything are you?" She asks with some concern. Demons are dangerous. Though she's guessing Patience can hold her own.. and then some, probably. "I'm new here. Haven't met anyone aside from Josh, Belinda and Nettie. Oh and Sara albeit very briefly."
- Patience Alperen has posed:
Patience Alperen shakes her head, "I'm okay but thank you for asking. I'm sure I'll be stiff in the morning but not too much worse for wear. A hot shower cures a lot of the ailments we seem to run into." Laughing, she wipes her hands again and stands, moving over to off her right in greeting.
"I had heard there was a new member so I'm glad we can meet!" Seeing what she imagines might be a little uncertainty or hesitation, another smile is offered. "We're an eclectic group but I think we're becoming something of a family. We might disagree, maybe even fight a little, but we're still on the same side in the end."
Nodding again at those Blue has met, she nods, "We have a decent number of members, but a lot are them are regularly away with their obligations and join us when they're needed."
- Blue GhostEyes has posed:
Until recently Blue would have been resistant to the idea of joining a group, of making friends and finding family. A chance encounter in a cemetary changed all that and now she has a boyfriend, is making real friends and has become a prospective member of the JLD. So she nods and smiles and takes Patience's hand, giving a firm shake. "I've been alone too long. It's gonna take some getting used to but I'm doing my best." Blue admits.
"I work as a private investigator and sometimes tend bar or bounce in a few places. Lately I split my time between here where my house, business and nephew are and Gotham, where my man is. We both have our own businesses and that will probably make it hard sometimes but for now it's working." She's not used to being in a permanent relationship anymore and that will take time to adjust to as well, no matter how much she loves Ted. "I'm happy to be here." And that is not a lie, though it does still surprise Blue a bit.
- Patience Alperen has posed:
Patience Alperen shakes the hand warmly and moves to sit down again. There is another chair near the table and she gestures, "YOu're very welcome to join me if you'd like. Or if it would be more comfortable for you to not sit so close I can understand that too." The Spear sets more than a few people ill at ease after all.
"Those are useful professions and skills to have! If you don't mind people you know stopping in, you might let me know where you're tending bar some time and I'll stop in to say hi."
"Take your time. The Dark group is unique. We all have our quirks and things to get used to. But there's no test or deadline. Everyone travels along their life's journey at different speeds. That goes for growing comfortable or more around new people." With a bit of a laugh, she adds, "The first time Danny and I, mmm, worked together.. it was jarring to me to see him change forms. There was a moment where I wasn't certain if I would be fighting him as well the demon we had encountered."
With a wry smile, she shrugs as she continues to clean the spear, "If it were up to the Cardinals in The Church, I would be fighting with most or all of the Dark team.." Which is why she told them off and chose to work independently of their 'guidance'.
- Blue GhostEyes has posed:
Now that she's had a moment to adjust, the Spear and the Holy Blood Blue can scent or perhaps sense, don't bother her. The worst that can happen is she dies and she'll come back. Okay, the worst that can happen is she dies and comes back as a man. Usually she just goes with it but it'd make things very difficult with Ted since he doesn't swing that way. Still, Blue can't find it within herself to be wary of someone both so good and so friendly.
The Shoshone woman moves and sits in the chair by Patience. "Thanks." She smiles. "I don't know Danny yet or wht he can do. I do have another form myself. My otherself is very large coyote." Blue admits. "Hm." Tilting her head she smiles. "Good for you, to think for yourself. Humans are fallible. They don't always know what's really right or wrong. They can't truly comprehend the Creator though the good ones really try." Her religious views are very different being what she is but there are some similarities.
- Patience Alperen has posed:
Patience Alperen certainly does her best to avoid conflict with other members of the Dark team. Everyone is basically after the same thing as it is.
"Danny Ketch. He's, mmm, got a form that most would think is at odds with my family lineage and history. But he is only interested in helping the innocent and helpless. And that is what I choose to focus on. We all have some common ground we can find."
A coyote form is mentioned. "You should try to meet Mercy Thompson, if you haven't. She's also a Native American" Patience offers, "She's a mechanic with a garage in Harlem."
Smiling wryly, she shrugs a bit. "Humans are very falible. And, unfortunately, more often narrow and closed minded when it comes to differences.
- Blue GhostEyes has posed:
Meeting Mercy will be a definite shock for Blue, who has never come across another with her particular form. One of the few bits of knowledge that has remained in over a thousand years and countless lifetimes. "I'm working on meeting everyone."
Blue snorts. "Don't gotta tell me. I'm an Indian who likes women and men and I'm much older than I look." She knows all too well how narrow minded people can be. "Some choose to live in such tiny little worlds. I have never understood it. Things were different once. For the most part. I hope one day they will be again." She says and then lets loose a world weary sigh then shrugs. "I've learned to just ignore people with that trait when I can. Or kick their ass if I can't. It doesn't usually teach them anything but it makes me feel better." Blue grins.
- Patience Alperen has posed:
Patience Alperen says, "Well as I said, there isn't a deadline."
Smiling, Patience adds, "We all love who we may." Somewhere a number of Cardinals, who are from the fringe of the Church as an organization, are having a heart attack in this moment. Not that Patience cares.
She can't help but laugh. "Yes. I think we tend to share a similar outlook. Living peacefully is the ideal of course. But that does not mean passive or meek." As she finishes cleaning The Spear, she begins to carefully wrap it in the layer of burlap. "I suppose I have come to represent the walking softly while carrying a big stick sort of mindset." Mostly it's a joke but only when times are peaceful."
- Blue GhostEyes has posed:
Blue can't help but grin and then laugh as her eyes go to the Spear and then back to Patience. "I reckon you could put it that way." She chuckles some more. "I've lived a lot of lives. More than I know or remember but there's always a few things I know to be true. One is that while I am a predator I never prey on the weak. Only on others that do. If that suddenly wasn't a thing one day, maybe I'd lose my mind.. but oh what a world that would be. I think it'd be worth it." She smiles.
"Even in my darkest times there is that line I don't cross. Innocents are meant to be protected. It's helped me find a common ground with people or beings I wouldn't have otherwise more than once."
- Patience Alperen has posed:
Patience Alperen grins back as her joking is well received but then she shows more serious attention as the topic shifts some.
"It could be easily argued that all of us are predators and hunters of sorts. I hunt for evil and its minions. Usually of the more sinister sorts. But there are many sorts of evil in the world to be stopped. Groups like ours are necessary as long as evil exists."
With a nod of understanding she adds, "I can sense what you're saying. And I'm glad. It will be valuable to have you as part of the Dark family." As she finishes wrapping the spear, she checks her phone. "It was very nice to meet you, Blue. I need to get going back to my place and finish cleaning and repairing my gear. But I look forward to talking again, soon, and working with you as situations come along that require our attention."
