The mutant news
Date of Scene: 28 April 2024
Location: A secret warehouse
Synopsis: Angela shares the news of a threat to mutants with Warpath.
Cast of Characters: Aldrif Odinsdottir, James Proudstar

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela ends her cellphone call for James Proudstar and puts the device away. She crosses her arms and waits for him to answer the message and come to the warehouse, a location he's familiar with. She looks concerned with the news she carries, and she crosses her arms as she anticipates the upcoming discussion. The warehouse is a very large room and it is sparsely populated at the moment, with only a few crates and boxes up against the walls. Otherwise, the shadowy warehouse is empty, which could be ominous and uncomfortable to some. Angela just stands silently under a light, dressed her in her battle attire, her sword at her hip.

James Proudstar has posed:
James arrives in his black and red mission suit, the belt displaying his allegiance to the X-men. A small mask across his face for some sense of anonymity. Though given his sheer height and size, the idea that he could make himself not easily recognizable is somewhat of a farce. Regardless, he is Warpath.

Relying on his power of flight as egress from the mansion, he lands on concrete outside the warehouse with a light thud. Carefully removing some crime scene tape from a door, he turns the handle and steps inside the warehouse, giving a quick scan until he detects Angela.

He nods to her as he approaches. "Evening."

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela turns and nods to James as he approaches along the long warehouse floor, "Greetings," she tells, "I believe the threat to mutants I mentioned in my message is very real," she explains. She turns to him and tenses her jaw, "This villain seems intent on doing whatever he wants. But---" she adds, "I've not been able to locate him recently. Perhaps he has fled after showing me his plan. But either way, I wanted you to know of this threat to mutants."

James Proudstar has posed:
The large man crosses his arms and nods, "Unfortunately, not a very new thing for some shadowy organization to think they know the best way of suppressing a dangerous mutant power. I appreciate the heads up though. I'm sure Doctor McCoy will find situation more then fascinating... and he can take a more humane approach then culling."

Warpath tilts his head to the side, "Mind if I ask how you came about this information? I've never met Baron Zemo despite his infamy. Does he have a podcast or something?"

He offers a wry grin.

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela hmmfs a bit amusedly and nods her head, "I think he found it amusing to taunt me with his plans. He found a way to manipulate the situation and threaten mutants, but I couldn't do anything about it. I'm not actually sure how he found me," she states concernedly and then frowns, "Yes, he's quite a bastard. He's arrogant and rich. Apparently knows quite a bit about New York and superheroes," She explains, "I did not get a chance to punch him or hold him for questioning, due to his threats."

James Proudstar has posed:
"Well, if he becomes too much of a problem, he'll regret it. They always do. Mutant-kind has a lot of variety, and when that variety comes together in common cause, some really miraculous things happen. It doesn't matter how rich and bastardly someone is. A single individual cannot defeat that kind of diversity of thought and ability." Warpath mentions proudly.

"Thank you for the warning. I think the first step is mitigating the threat, and the second is the source. I'll relay this information to my allies to figure out what the next step is." He pauses and considers next steps for the conversation, "So you think he left New York?"

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela hmms, "This is what I assumed but I have not confirmed it yet. It was abandoned where I found him last time," she explains to him and then nods to what he says about next steps, plus how the mutants are ready for the next threat. "Yes, I remember we fought together and you were the contact I thought of. I can give a description of Zemo or help further if you need it," she offers, "Yes, he seems very confident but I think we will be ready for his plans."

James Proudstar has posed:
"Picture is worth a thousand words if you've got one." Warpath suggests. "And really anything on his habits and methods. Help is often appreciated, but... because of certain sensitivities, if my friends to decide to form a team, it will be mutants only."

He holds up his hands, "I hope that doesn't cause offense, its just... Well, things are always sensitive. Lot of enemies, lot of forces seeking to purify us out of existence. Nothing personal."

"However, if you want to join force, just you and I, maybe we can do something about it. You have familiarity with the target is advantageous, and I'm already exposed. So no harm in continued teamwork."

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela hmms, "Picture? No I do not have this," she explains to him, and seems not to have the tech behind her explanation like other superheroes might. She has her word and her story and the careful description.

Angela then frowns slightly as he tells her that's she's not wanted on the team to stop his dastardly villain, "Exposed? What do you mean? I have had contact with him so I would have an advantage investigating this jerkoff. I think we should investigate as soon as you are able," she explains to him.

James Proudstar has posed:
"By exposed, I mean its pretty obvious that there is a seven foot tall mutant warrior running around protecting his kind. You know I exist. I'm sure SHIELD knows I exist. That's not necessarily the same for the people I work with. Lot of us try to keep out of the eye of the public and the government when we can. There is a cost to being a known mutant." Warpath frowns gravely.

"Well, I'm available now." He shrugs his broad shoulders. "Where should we start investigating to find the good Baron?"

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela nods to what he says, "I see what you mean. He knew quite a bit about mutants and their powers, that's why he was threatening them, I think. But do not worry, I do not broadcast my affiliations," she explains.

"Now? We could examine the abandoned villa again I found but there wasn't much there," Angela explains to him, "He moved some equipment to Ellis Island but it also is abandoned. At least when I checked last."

James Proudstar has posed:
"Was Ellis Island is his last known hideout? Maybe it will have some kind of clue about where he's headed next." Warpath frowns, "Alternatively, we try to figure out how he knows so much about mutants in the NYC. Some kind of spy ring? A connection with another organization that keeps tabs on mutants."

He eyes her for a moment, "SHIELD hasn't had any leaks lately, has it? I mean, no offense, but you are all near the top of spooky secret organizations that spy on mutants. Fortunately, you've all acted like allies up to this point."

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela frowns a bit and considers for a moment then says, "I am merely a consultant but these SHIELD people have been reliable alies so far," she explains to him, "They do have a large network, it is true," she adds.

"Let us go at once," Angela tells him and walks toward the exist. She nudges him and motions to the door, "He was able to sneak some equipment to Ellis Island for a taunting demonstration. I think it was his intention to later use his equipment to carry out a bigger threat. Only tourists really go there I believe, and it's not monitored very closely. Come, I will show you where the equipment was," she explains to him.

James Proudstar has posed:
James raises an eyebrow at the nudge and then heads toward the door. "So do you fly, have a vehicle, or do you need a lift?"

He pauses, "If you are from a place called 'Heven', I really hope you can fly. I mean, shouldn't have wings or something to, while I think about it? Most other myths seem to ring true."

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela chuckles, motioning him on again, "Yes, I fly. Do not worry, you can come with me," she says and offers her hand, "Yes, my sisters all have wings but I was different. I am different," she says simply.
