Cast of Characters: Selene Corvinus, Mary Seward

Selene Corvinus has posed:
It is almost midnight, on a warm June night. There is a slight breeze in the air, rushing through the memorial space.

Selene walks through the memorial, dressed in black, her two-toned hair of black and brown, gently swaying at her shoulders. She sweeps her eyes about the memorial's design, taking in the elements of it, as the knowledge of why it was built was idly mulling about in the back of her mind. Causes she knew were big in this world, but mostly entirely unrelated to her own.

That was her serenity in life, not to be connected to the larger world.

But that didn't mean she didn't have to learn, observe, and understand what was happening world wide, as it inevitably would reach her doorstep, at least in some parts, eventually.

She pauses at a viewing area, placing her hands against a metal railing to let her eyes roam over the memorial before her. It is unusual for someone to be out here at this hour by themselves, but, if one were to get to know this lone woman, they'd learn quickly just how unusual she is.

Mary Seward has posed:
But, who is to cross paths with this unusual woman, other than an equally if not moreso unusual woman? "SELENE!" The flutter of bat wings make the announcement for her, as if her voice wasn't enough. Like from pure nothing, Mary Seward makes herself present just as the disgraced Death Dealer was taking her gaze out into the sky.

Judging by the red staining her face, she had just gotten done with a messy feeding in the area.

"...Crazy to run into you here! Why didn't you tell me you were heading up to New York too, girlfriend? We could've carpooled."

Selene Corvinus has posed:
With the flutter of wings, and the sound of a familiar voice, Selene casts her eyes to the side. She beholds Mary Seward, much the same as she remembered her. The question earns an expression of light amusement, before she turns to face her, leaving one hand upon the railing at her left side.

"I generally don't broadcast my where-abouts." She responds.

Her eyes take in a bit more detail of Mary's visage, and after a second of silence, she nods upward at the other woman's appearance. "Been keeping yourself safe?" She asked.

Mary Seward has posed:
"Eh, more or less. I've actually worked out a neat little arrangement with a lovely bunch of firecrackers known as the Brotherhood of Mutants. You've probably heard of them..." She walks across the railing Selene leaned against like it were the bars of a jungle gym.

"Yeah, it's really simple. I agree to keep my people from sinking our teeth into anyone with an x-gene and help them kill their enemies now and then...and they reward us by Door Dashing us free humans to snack on as well as you know...letting us drink from the enemies we kill for them. Also set me up with a sick penthouse in Bushwick."

She makes her stop, hanging off the railing's edge by one foot. Possibly just showing off. "I could show you it if you want..."

Selene Corvinus has posed:
Selene tips her chin up as the woman strides across the railing with a display of balance, and control. She moves her hand when Mary delicately moves past her upon it, and takes a step to the side as she explains her new arrangement.

"The Brotherhood..." Selene quietly repeats, not acknowledging whether or not she's actually heard of them. "That sounds like quite an arrangement. However, I'd question what they want from you in return."

She tips her head to the side, watching something moving off in the distance, but it seems to not be a real concern, since her eyes return to Mary's form a moment later.

"So you've left Gotham? And what of all of your followers? You had quite a few with you in that warehouse, when we last spoke." She notes, her voice, and overall demeanor as calm and cool as ever.

Mary Seward has posed:
"It's really simple. We both understand that humans suck and so they decided we could help eachother in dealing with that...But, I digress."

She hops off, landing next to her Hungarian kin. "Oh, I took most of them with me. The Blood Red Moon's been on the move for a while...Buuut, I did make sure to leave a handful behind to keep up the good work. Did a lot of turning in that City...even met with a few of those annoying caped weirdos you warned me about and converted a few of them. All in all, it was fun. But, a couple of them decided to spoil the fun so I figured I might as well speed up the trip to ol' NYC."

Selene Corvinus has posed:
When she drops down off of the railing, Selene simply watches her land before her, her hands remaining casually at her sides. She tilts her head ever so slightly, when the woman casually insinuates she turned some Gotham vigilantes in to Vampires, as well as the rest of what she speaks of also causing some small amount of amusement in the Hungarian.

" I see..." She simply replies. "Well, as ever, you seem to be keeping yourself busy. Though I would equally warn of troubles you might face here in Manhattan. there is no small amount of powered heroic types patrolling the city here, at day or otherwise. In fact, in my experience, there are more powerful would-be do-gooders here within New York, than even Gotham City. Gotham seemed to appeal to a different breed. One rooted more in tech, while New York is rooted more in... otherwise."

There comes a brief smirk across Selene's lips, as she shakes her head faintly once. "I am sure you'll manage. Especially if you're making friends with a powerful Mutant organization."

Mary Seward has posed:
"Oh, you don't need to worry about me so much...Seriously, you're not my mommy...Unless, you know...you're into that kinda thing." She winks. Joking. Mostly.

"But, hey, all this talk about me, me and me. Which, don't get me wrong, I don't mind that at all...but there's not enough about what you've been up to, ol' Partner of mine..Last I checked, didn't you mention having some unwelcome company here in the big apple? Company that would ensure our continued partnership if I maintained my distance from?"% r
This is the most Mary has ever been interested in someone else's life without using them as a puppet. Did she really like Selene that much?

Selene Corvinus has posed:
The mommy joke garners another ghostly half-grin from the other Vampire woman, and no answer.

The following counter question sent her way, causes her to casually turn away. She walks toward a nearby plaque that details elements of what lead to the memorial that they're immersed within. She scans her eyes over it a second, before she looks toward her right, toward where mary is in relation to her new position.

"It's complicated." She quietly answers in her husky voice. "Many within my Coven are seeking my capture, or otherwise... I'm working on ensuring that their intentions fail, and that my people's foothold here in the United States remains strong, but... goes independent."

She affords Mary a soft smile, before her eyes return to the plaque, and she continues to read the etched text upon the aged bronze.

"I'm not quite as brazen about my dealings with Mutants, or others outside of our kind, I guess you could say."

Mary Seward has posed:
"Oh, that sucks...Really it does." She paces around Selene, before taking a few steps closer. Within reason, she can be gentle and even nice. She's not that bad, she can appreciate a good friend.

"...Well, it's a good thing we're such good friends. Scratch my back, I scratch yours...If you're in need of help, just tell me what my flock and I can do. If you need a place to hide out, plan and that kind of shit, my door's open. It's a veeery roomy penthouse. We've got a lot of guest rooms...mostly they're to feed on gullible humans in but they're there..."

Selene Corvinus has posed:
When the plaque is finished being read, and Mary sweeps herself around to stand on Selene's left side, she regards her again with a sidelong glance. Another distant expression touches her features, another slight grin. "Tempting offer." She softly responds, "But, I don't feed on Humans any longer, and have no intentions of returning to the process there-in."

She looks ahead, toward another element of the memorial, the art display set before them on a series of pedestals. "It comes with too many tendrils of tension, currents of chaos."

She lets her gaze slide back over to Mary's face. "I'll stick with my synthetic nourishment." She allows another pause, there, before adding. "though, I would like to know where you're housed up in the moment. It's always good to have emergency options, isn't it?"

Mary Seward has posed:
"Ah, what?" Dissatisfied with Selene's dietary choices. With anyone else, she'd jump right into insults. But again...she likes Selene. So she'll keep those internal with some rarely used restraint. "...Oh, right. I forgot. Your type has the weird blood memory thing going on, right? Yeah, I think I get it."

Nevertheless she kicks some dirt aside.

"Like I said, Bushwick. In Mutant Town...Look for a place called The Centinel Hotel...Bring any friends along too. If you've got any here. The more, the merrier."

Selene Corvinus has posed:
At the talk of their prefered forms of nourishment, Selene simply answers the other woman by lightly nodding her head a single time toward her. She averts her gaze back to the memorial displays, raising her eyes up to look several feet in the air above them at the artistry. "I have a few. Not many." She speaks of friends, her stare coming down again, and returning to Mary.

"I've heard of that place. I'll keep that in mind. But do be safe with yourself. Even the Mutants may get angry at you, if they decide your goals don't align with their own..."

Mary Seward has posed:
"That's a shame, you've got a winning personality." She nudges her on the shoulder. "...Oh, don't worry. I'm always overthinking these things...Of who might betray or who I might have to betray...That...totally doesn't include you, by the way. Promise." She crosses her fingers, right in front of Selene.

"But, seriously...anyway I can help, anything you need...Let me know. Need someone dead? Need something found? Come to me. Like I said, you're one of us now...We treat our own right..."

Selene Corvinus has posed:
Another gentle breeze of warm June air rushes across them through the night sky, and following Mary's reaffirming offer for support, Selene nods her head a single time toward her in return.

"It's appreciated." She quietly fires back. She takes a breath in through her nose, her shoulders rising some within the black jacket she's wearing over her shoulders, then slides her eyes back to Mary's own.

"I best be on my way. Ever on the move..." She notes, nodding toward Mary. "I'll take you up on your offers, at some point, I am sure."

Mary Seward has posed:
"Good. Great. Looking forward to it." She steps out of a way and gives Selene a pat on the back, as a send off.

"See you around, Death Dealer...Oh, and thanks for the fake blood. It's not as good as the real deal, of course but it's the thought that counts and all, blah, blah..."
