Candace Hill has posed:
Its been a day since Candace left her apartment. A day in the motel. She was pretty well off. Just one problem! She forgot something back at her apartment. She needed her underwear! That is kinda important. Can't be the lewd vampire in town. So she quickly gets the idea to go back the the apartment and get her underwear. Heading out, She locks up and takes flight. She flies around the city in multiple directions before heading to the apartment.

The night is cool and steamy given that it rained a little the prior day. Humid is the key word. She makes her way to the apartment. Something feels wrong to her. Like deep in her gut. She brushes it off, The feeling is probably all in her head. Using her key, She opens the door and walks in.

Mary Seward has posed:
The moment she enters, Candace would catch a literal whiff of what the trouble was. Blood. Fresh blood. Of course, that scent would be easily tracked to the bright red stains on the floor.

Those strains would in turn lead to the apartment's living room. Sitting comfortably on the furniture was...Her.

"Well, well, look who decided to finally show up!" The Queen of Blood, and Candace's sire laughs at the prodigal vampire.

"...Kept us all worried when you left without saying something. Thought you might be trying to skimp on rent. Shame on you."

Candace Hill has posed:
Candace looks around. The smell of blood catches her attention. Part of her starts craving it but she quickly pushes that feeling down. She doesn't need to feed right now. She is still good from the previous night.

Her eyes scan the apartment and she sees the blood. "Oh no." She shutters. "Oh no. No no no no." Her voice trembles as the daunting fear of a worst case scenario is made apparent.

"Oh gods. What happened?" As if she needed to ask. "I've been around. I just didn't want to hurt my roommates. You know how hard it is to find good roommates in New York City?" She asks.

She sighs and shakes her head, "I found a way to manage without having to kill. I just hit a blood bank. I already had some. Its like a juice box really!" She giggles nervously.

Mary Seward has posed:
"Yeah, how well did not hurting your roommates work out for you? Don't worry, though. Simple hypnosis trick can get you plenty of roommates. Hell, use it on your landlord and you'll never have to pay rent again." She smirks, totally amused with herself.

That was until Candace dared to bring up her solution to the blood dilemma. Her smile was quick to fall. Like she took such a deep offense to the idea. "No, no. Be real for a moment. That's what you're going to do for the rest of your eternal life? Survive on scraps? No, that's not how you should do it, you know that's not how. Come on...act like a REAL vampire, why don't you?...Oh wait, hold that thought."

She can see the beads Candace wears. She smells the magic right on them. The thing that's blocking her senses. Just like what Batman did in their little fight. That won't stand. She dashes up and tears the little necklace right off, crushing the beads in her hand.

"Unsightly looking little things, don't you agree? I can get you something nicer."

Candace Hill has posed:
Well Shit. Its her only thought. How is she going to explain this one to Batman? 'I had to go to my apartment because I forgot my underwear and my Sire was waiting for me? Oh and she trashed the beads you gave me!' Yeah she's going to get one of those well known scowls that the Bat is known for. "Yeah we can do better."

She looks at Mary and shakes her head. "I won't kill. I just can't do it." She technically can kill. That's why she takes great care to be careful with her powers.

"My roommates were my friends though." She frowns and shakes her head. She will mourn them later. Right now everything has her keeping her guard up. "Dammit." She shakes her head.

Mary Seward has posed:
"You can and you will. It's your nature...No, your right as a vampire." She will make her budge. She has a point to prove, and the fledgling will learn no matter what. She's committed, and some level of deranged.

"One was...Don't worry. One's still alive." She smiles. Obviously, there's a catch to this. There has to be. "Check your room, why don't you?"

Candace Hill has posed:
Candace frowns, "I can do this but I'm not going to kill!" She exclaims clearly fighting with all she is. Her eyes flicker. The heat from her hotel room supplied a bit of a charge for her.

A blend of fear and anger fill her as she goes to her bedroom. She shakes her head seeing her friend there looking at her with fear. Its the familiar look that she's seen in the eyes of counter protesters. Absolute terror. "Why are you doing this?" She asks Mary. "Also What do you mean hypnotize the landlord? I'm not a hypnotist!"

Mary Seward has posed:
"I'm mentoring you. Like a good sire." She pats Candace on the back. Was this really her trying to reassure the girl? "Oh, vampires can hypnotize people by looking in their eyes...I'll get around to showing you the ropes soon. Believe, there's all kinds of cool shit you can do now...But, first." She looks down at the roommate.

"...Finish the job. Feed. Embrace what you are...Then, you'll be ready."

Candace Hill has posed:
"I'm not going to kill my friend!" She shakes her head. "I can't do this!" She continues to defy Mary, fighting to maintain some semblance of humanity.

Quickly she walks over to her friend and shakes them, "Snap out of it. Come on! You need to get out of here!" She exclaims knowing that her friend is going to die tonight. At least she is trying to give him a fighting chance.

Mary Seward has posed:
"He'll die regardless...and no matter what, I'll only take leave of you once you've killed a human being. Might as well knock those both out now." She chuckles, dashing over and leaving a little slit on the friend's neck. Just enough for the faintest drop of blood to pour out.

"...Come on, new girl. Take a step into your new life."

Candace Hill has posed:
Candace winces knowing its going to happen. She can't feed off of him. She knows that. If she feeds, its game over for her. If she doesn't feed, Mary will kill him and probably do something far worse than just feeding on him.

She quietly steps closer to him. "I am so sorry Chris." She states talking to him and trying to get him to understand. She gently touches him and immediately heat begins draining from his body. "Good bye, my friend." With a quick motion, the heat energy that she'd stored up is released in a directed blast right at that cut in his neck. The impact would do enough damage to end him.

Tears flow down her cheeks as she looks at her fallen friend. "I wasn't going to risk turning him." She comments as she looks down at him. There is blood on her face from it but what could she do?

Mary Seward has posed:
Mary stands there for a moment, in silence. She was actually caught off guard. Expecting this to ho many ways but not that at all. The Queen of Blood was completely dumbfounded...

For a few moments, but she eventually found her voice. Predictably, it was for a big laugh.

"AAAAHAHAHA!" She throws her head back. "...Gotta admit! Not bad!...I mean, it's pretty wasteful but...damn, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't impressed. You really are cut out to be one of us..."

Candace Hill has posed:
Candace continues to cry as she looks down at her fallen friend. "If I would have refused, you'd have killed him yourself. If I'd have given in, there is the risk I would have put him in the same boat as me. I couldn't do that to him. So I spared him all of it." She sighs.

"I'm not! I'm not! I had to be merciful. I couldn't see any other way to do that." She wipes the tears from her eyes. "I did the right thing." She tells herself trying to convince herself that she is right about it.

Mary Seward has posed:
"Of course you did the right thing...You killed."

She places her hand under Candace's chin. "Now, now. Don't cry. This is natural, like I've been saying. I've been preparing you...It's better for you to have gotten this out of the way now, rather than later...Itll make the next easier."

Candace Hill has posed:
Candace shakes her head, "No. There won't be a next time." She continues shaking her head. "I can't do that again."

She looks at Mary and frowns. "I'm not a murderer. I will never be a murderer. I did what I had to do to spare him something far worse. As you said, He was going to die regardless. At least what I did was painless." She frowns.

Mary Seward has posed:
"A painless murder is still a murder. You've already done the deed. Didn't even drink his blood to do it..."

She shakes her head.

"You've already crossed the line...No point in trying to play little miss no-kill now. Come on...if you embrace it...I'll teach you all about the cool vampire powers you've got now. Especially hypnotism."

Candace Hill has posed:
Candace shakes her head. "I didn't feed off of him. I didn't turn him. I didn't end his life as he knew it. I did what I had to do. He needed to go peacefully and what I did was the closest to peaceful that he was going to get." She frowns and shakes her head.

"I need to go. I'm going to throw up now. And I need to mourn two friends that I have been with for the past two years." She comments as she turns to go. Her attention is on the front door. Quietly she walks to the door to open it.

Mary Seward has posed:
"Deniaaaalll." She taunts, walking ahead of Candace, and through the door.

"...Split hairs as much as you want, you still did the thing you said you wouldn't. You can live out your days spiraling more and more...as you keep killing, and find new ways to tell yourself how it totally doesn't count...or you could roll with me...tame your thirst, learn it...and be able to become a proper vampire. Find some wholeness in your new situation...It's your choice.

Candace Hill has posed:
Candace turns and is about to say something but, it doesn't work. She takes off running to the bathroom. She immediately starts heaving, and bowing before the great white throne. A few minutes later, the sound of the toilet flushing is heard as she steps out. "I did what I had to do. That is all." She continues crying as she turns to the door. She walks toward it and opens it. "I will be around." She comments as she keeps going.

Mary Seward has posed:
"I know." Mary simply remarks, standing at the door patiently.
