- Sam Wilson has posed:
Dress casually. was the note that Sam had left for Morrigan on the fridge before heading to work for the day. When he returned home, he changed into a pair of khaki pants and a white polo shirt, packing a light jacket as well. "Might get a little chilly." he explained to his fiancee as he got them into the car for the short trip.
Sam had planned a relaxing evening, hoping to get away from the usual chaos of their otherworldly adventures. They strolled into Fantasy Falls Mini-Golf, its entrance framed by lush greenery and the distant hum of go-karts.
Casually tossing the putter over his shoulder, Sam looked around as they arrived at the first hole nestled within the Whispering Woods. His easy smile never wavered, even as they approached the glowing vines and towering trees.
"Well, here we are," Sam remarked, waving a hand toward the enchanted landscape. "Figure it's not quite the Bifrost or the Gates of Hell, but it's got its own charm, right?" The towering trees cast long shadows over the glowing vines that lined the course. He surveyed the scene, a relaxed smile on his face. "Wizards first?" he asked with a wink as he waited for Mo to line up her shot.
- Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan had been excited to get to go out. And it wasn't school related? Doubly excited! She loved the school, but she was focused on trying to make sure it ran 24/7.
She'd dressed in one of her more 'casual' dresses in a hunter green color. Her sunglasses were firmly in place though for the moment.
"I feel like I'm about to be beaten badly at mini-golf." she tells him as she takes off her glasses and slips them into her pocket. "I like it, it is pretty cute." she admits as she looks to the green and then where they are supposed to put the ball. "Where did you find this place?" she asks him.
- Sam Wilson has posed:
Sam grinned, leaning casually on his putter as he watched her take in the scene.
"Hey, don't count yourself out just yet," he said with a chuckle. "I mean, I'm pretty good, but there's no telling how this'll go." His tone was playful, teasing, as he glanced over the whimsical course. "Not that you aren't going to be distracting me the whole time." he teases.
As for the place, Sam shrugged, his smile easygoing. "Found it on a whim. Figured we could use something that's, you know, less end-of-the-world vibes. Plus, look at this place," he gestured around, "enchantment in a way we don't have to fight it. Thought it'd be fun."
He glanced over at her, taking in how relaxed she seemed. "Besides, you deserve a break from all that school-running business. Mini-golf is serious stuff, though." He gave her a wink. "Definetly not as cute as you." he added.
- Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan lines up the shot with the putter, settling into a stance. It's not that serious, Miss Morrigan! Then she taps the ball, sending it towards the hole. "First holes are always easy." she tells him with a grin.
"Maybe we just need to make mini-golf our thing?" she asks him. "And yes, less end of the world vibes would be great." she sighs to that.
Then there is a smile, "I love the schools...or I wouldn't do what I do with them." she admits. "Aww, that's sweet." she grins at him. "Did you get a suit for homecoming?" she asks him.
- Sam Wilson has posed:
"Hole in one. Nice!" Sam says encouragingly, as he exchanges places with Morrigan, a brief kiss as they swap out. As he sets down the ball to line up his shot. "Okay, end of the world was on me. Schools on you. No more talk of either. I do have a suit, unless you perfer me to wear my uniform, but I'm having that cleaned for the day sfter." he points out.
"What about you. Found a dress? What color? Did you want to coordinate?" He doesn't mention that he may have bought her a wrist corsage as well. "I figure we can have a steak dinner before the dance?" he asks, lining up his shot.
And missing. Badly.
"Told you it's been a while." he smirks, taking a couple of more strokes to get the ball in. I'll get you on the next hole."
The second hole leads players deeper into the Whispering Woods, where the trees grow closer together, and the air feels thicker with magic (no doubt fog machines). The path is winding, flanked by softly glowing mushrooms that pulse with a faint blue light. Players must navigate the ball over a small wooden bridge spanning a babbling brook, its water shimmering as if infused with stardust. The challenge lies in avoiding the stream while guiding the ball over a series of tricky bumps and ridges that make precision essential.
At the hole's end, an ancient, moss-covered stone circle stands guard, and the ball must pass through its center to reach the final stretch and the hole beyond.
- Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a look to him and there is a smile, "Just beginners luck I imagine." she tells him. "Only talking about good things going forward." she adds with a soft nod to him.
She doesn't tease him when he misses, "You did good though." she tells him. Though as she heads deeper into the mini-golf course with him she gives a smile to the brook, "Thank goodness I can cross running water." she admits. Yes, that was good!
When Morrigan tries to guide the ball over...she does it with less grace before and gets the ball stuck in the moss.
- Sam Wilson has posed:
"Our baths would be more less fun if you couldn't." Sam teases Morrigan as he watches her, ready to assist if he needs to. When she to the ball, he lets out a breath of relief and studies her. "You gonna need help getting out of there, babe?" he asks her.
Sam eyed the second hole, taking in the glowing mushrooms, the stardust-filled brook, and the tricky ridges. He gave a low whistle, shaking his head. "They're not making this easy, are they?"
Setting his feet firmly, he lined up his shot, squinting as if trying to calculate the perfect angle. With a smooth, confident swing, he sent the ball rolling across the wooden bridge. It danced over the bumps but stayed true to course, narrowly avoiding the shimmering brook. The ball sailed through the moss-covered stone circle and, with one last bounce, dropped neatly into the hole.
Sam flashed a grin and twirled the putter in his hand. "What'd I say? Serious business." He turned to Morrigan with a playful smirk, clearly enjoying his little victory. "Your move."
After a few more holes, they arrive at the dragon nine.
The Dragon Hole is the crown jewel of Fantasy Falls Mini-Golf, located at the course's midpoint. As players approach, they are greeted by a towering dragon statue, its wings outstretched as if ready to take flight. The entrance to the hole is shaped like the creature's massive, coiled tail, winding up toward a cavern framed by jagged rocks. The path is narrow, with lava-red lighting glowing beneath the ridges, giving the illusion of molten rivers flowing beneath the course.
The challenge lies in navigating the ball through the dragon's tail, which twists with tight curves and sudden dips. As the ball emerges from the tail, it's launched into a final ramp that directs it toward the dragon's den, a dark, echoing cavern where the ball must land precisely in a small pocket beneath the beast's glowing eyes.
Complete the hole, and the dragon lets out a deep, thunderous roar of approval, shaking the course with a rumble that echoes in your chest. But fail, and the sound of wings flapping signals the beast stirring, as if you've woken something better left asleep.
- Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"Bath water is different from like...streams and things." Morrigan points out with a chuckle. "Or I would be super pissed." she muses. "Showers forever sound awful, but at least we've got the option." she adds.
When the ball continues to be stuck there is a moment that Morrigan looks...stressed. Then she picks the ball up and throws it at the green with a bit of a look around. "No one saw that." she whispers. "Just mark me for not finishing that. It was bad." she laughs.
Then she looks over the dragon, "It's pretty neat." she tells him. "Let's hope we don't wake it up..." she whispers as she goes to hit her ball.
- Sam Wilson has posed:
Sam couldn't help but laugh as Morrigan tossed her ball down the course. He shot her a mock-serious look, shaking his head. "Pretty sure that's not regulation mini-golf, but hey, no one saw it," he whispered with a grin, holding up his hands as if taking an oath of silence.
Turning his attention to the Dragon Hole, Sam sized up the challenge with a playful grin. "Alright, dragon, let's see what you've got," he muttered, stepping up to the tee. The twisting dragon tail, glowing like molten lava, looked daunting, but Sam was up for it.
He lined up his shot, taking his time before swinging with precise control. The ball zipped into the tail, weaving through the tight curves and dangerous drops. It teetered on the edge of the path a few times, but Sam's shot stayed true, finally launching up the last ramp and into the dragon's cavern. The ball vanished beneath the beast's glowing eyes and, after a tense moment, dropped neatly into the pocket.
The dragon's roar echoed across the course, its thunderous approval shaking the ground beneath them. Sam threw his hands up in triumph, a wide grin splitting his face. "And that, my love, is how you don't wake a dragon."
Turning to Morrigan, he feigned modesty, though his smirk betrayed his amusement. "I mean, no big deal or anything," he teased, clearly reveling in his victory.
- Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"See, you're the regulation guy of this relationship." Morrigan tells him as she whisks her way past him. She was teasing him of course. She finds herself up against the dragon and lets be honest...she has better luck with non winding things.
She gets it in a few strokes as opposed to Sam's wonderful performance! "Ah, the Knight in shining armor that the course needed!" she applauds him.
Then she gives a wink to him as she approaches, "And the hero of course should be awarded for his heroics." the ginger states as she leans in to kiss him happily.
