- Vivian Vision has posed:
With the G.S. Tereshkova due to launch in the near future GIRL has been all hands on deck making last minute preparations.
And that means one Vivian Vision, Interim Director of GIRL, has been busier than usual. Splitting her time between Earth and the Kuiper Belt. Making sure everything is in order. Keeping everything on track.
Maybe micromanaging things just a little bit.
But really is that such a bad thing when you're planning on taking a crew full of people a long /long/ way from Earth?
Hopefully not!
The synthezoid seems perfectly comfortable in the zero-g of the docking facility. No need for a space suit. Making precise and coordinated moves as she checks the hull of the spaceship out.
"No sign of any abrasions to the hull from the time it's spent in orbit," she vocalises into the GIRL communications network. "The shielding has done an excellent job of fending off asteroids and debris."
- Bobbi Morse has posed:
Someone who doesn't have the benefit of surviving in the emptiness of space? That would include Bobbi Morse. "Such a cheater" she grumbles which may have been loud enough for the mic to pick up as she's checking over different systems and connections.
"Clear on booster four as well" she reports with the mounting bracket given a slight tug to verify bolt fitment one last time.
Being in zero-g is still mildly awkward for her, it's not something one easily gets advanced training for. She is nothing if not adaptable though and hanging around GIRL is a great way to build up some proficiency. The same booster is used to give herself a slight boost, floating across the exterior hull toward the next point of interest.
- Noa has posed:
Noa has her ship parked near the Tereshkova, the Shi'ar jumpship looking very different from the Earth creation. She herself against thehull in her spacesuit layer over her zero suit, a force dome over her head providing air. She is checking life support and propulsions for the Terran group.
She seems very comfortable in the zero-gravity environment, drifting as she needs. "If you took any impacts, I see no substantial damage to critical systems."
- Vivian Vision has posed:
"I can't help it if I was well engineered Doctor Morse," Vivian teases over the comms. Of course they picked up the noise. They're extremely sensitive precision equipment! "Also I've had plenty of time to practise being in space. Not quite as much as Noa here. Just be glad your first time in space wasn't during a fight with a hostile vessel!"
She applies a little thrust using her flight systems and drifts up and around the ship.
"It looks like we've had total protection from the shielding. Which is pretty much what I'd expect from Val's work. We'll need to service the shield systems to account for wear and tear but honestly I think everything is looking flight worthy from a visual inspection point of view." Not that she's merely looking with her eyes. All her innate sensor abilities let her seem far more than on the visual spectra. Plus she has data input from every sensor inside the Tereshkova itself to work with. "Do you think it's a bit much if we give the ship a fresh coat of paint before we go?"
She hrms thoughtfully.
"Pinks, purples, and maybe a little glitter for the name plate?"
Her arms cross and she 'sits' in empty space. Considering the impact it'd have.
"It'd be less /efficient/ with that paint scheme I suppose. And very uh. Flashy? But it would also be more fun I think."
- Bobbi Morse has posed:
Catching another support beam and gracefully floating about, Bobbi looks from their own rig to Noa's fancy looking craft parked nearby. "Great to hear, but I still want one of those" she points to the Shi'ar craft. "Why can't we have something more like that?"
Hanging out in a hard vacuum with a synthezoid and an alien. Her life has sure gotten interesting these days.
Vivian's comment about everything looking great brings a smirk to the agent, drifting closer to the hull to give it a few raps with glove-softened knuckles. "Feeling that, Viv?" she teases, darn well knowing Viv is linked to every onboard sensor. "'There came a rapping, rapping upon my spaceship door."
Leave it to Vivian to get one back at her a second later. Morse's tone goes flat as she turns a helmeted stare upon the synth. "We are not going to be the first ones to put glitter into space." Just think of the damage it could do to the filters!
- Noa has posed:
Noa floats toward where the others are. Her suit may have some thrusters in it helping though. She sees thepoint to her ship. "Far Horizon was in service for years in the Imperial Navy. Then when it becaome obsolete, they took the military systems out, and I was able to get ahold of it. It's much less advanced than it looks, flying aorund in that."
"Paint on the hull is good for morale and discipline."
- Vivian Vision has posed:
"I'm sure Noa could be persuaded to take you out for a ride sometime?" Vivian muses. "For a suitable fee that is." There's a beats pause before the adds "Also given I am basically linked to the entire ship saying the Tereshkova isn't good is a little rude to /me/. Well okay not really. But this is the product of some of the most brilliant minds Earth has ever seen. Built using techniques which warp the laws of time and space beyond the comprehension of most people."
Pym Particles are weird.
"I think it's all your SHIELD training Bobbi. You just want something which looks like it belongs in the military!"
She sticks her tongue out at the rapping.
"Yes I can. And you know full well that isn't a door." Although the vibrations do spread across a lot of the hull. In space there's no-where else for the vibrations to go. "We wouldn't be the first to bring glitter into space. I think the Titans did that years ago. Plus I'm suggesting sparkly paint not actual glitter. And it's /far less tacky/ than having Miss Winston apply magical gemstones to the hull."
No-one wants a rhinestone spaceship. Even if it would be neat giving the ship magical properties. Probably if the filters were bothered by glitter they'd be ruined by space dust. But hey that's what the shields are for!
"Do either of you have any ideas what you might want adding to the playlist for our trip? Molly was talking about putting on some Ariana Grande. I have made the slightly cheesy pick of Just a Girl by No Doubt. There's no such thing as an unwelcome suggestion!"
- Bobbi Morse has posed:
"Well. That's disappointing" Bobbi grumps. "Still looks cool though. And come on now, Viv. Alien tech! Maybe that's nothing for you both but it's still a pretty big deal for us lowly Earthly humans."
The thought of paying a fee for a ride is met with an eye-roll which no one is likely to see behind the visor. "You may be good at science but your sense of humor needs some work. And...yeah! Of course I do!" she confirms about military-looking tech. "Looking cool is always half the battle, you know."
No, it isn't a door. But she's not about to float all the way around just so her play on Edgar Allen Poe can be marginally more accurate.
The thought of the Titans bringing glitter out of atmosphere, and the idea of glittering up a ship, causes her to shiver with a "Nyeuhuh" sound. Of course, if it was up to her it would likely all end up in tactical matte black with possibly some thin red trim.
Music? Viv's 'No Doubt' suggestion gets a response. "They put that song in a movie once and it killed the whole mood for me. Not that I have any better suggestions off the top of my head."
- Noa has posed:
Noa nods. "I could take a person on board, who wanted to see what Shi'ar technology looks like, in comparison to the native work of this planet. I don't think I'd need to charge a fee. I'm not running a ferry service to Andromeda." She smiles.
"What is a playlist? Is that like a course itinerary?"
- Vivian Vision has posed:
"I've never met an AI with a more well developed sense of humour than me," Vivian says brightly. "I can appreciate the physical comedy required to slip on a banana peel /and/ the ironic humour of the trope being overdone to the point of not being funny in itself anymore."
She turns slightly. It's hard to tell with a space suit on but she may be winking at Doctor Morse..
Still sort of sitting on nothing she gives the Tereshkova an affectionate pat.
"If the other half is violence I'm afraid I'll have to disagree! That leaves no room for knowledge." A beats pause. "I've actually been getting Kori to help me pick out some new looks."
The trouble with tactical matt black in space? Heat retention. And despite the void of space being cold one of the biggest issue for space ships? Venting heat.
"So a playlist is a collection of songs. Music created for various purposes. Political, social, recreational, and I suppose because people want to get rich and famous. I just thought it might be nice to share our tastes in music while we travel together." She winces at the kill the mood comment. "I'm not so strongly in favour of the song that I'd insist upon it! I have the advantage of being able to play music inside my mind for my own appreciation. And really I'm going to be far too busy computing faster than light course data to really focus on the songs myself..."
- Bobbi Morse has posed:
"Case in point" Bobbi replies to Vivian with a slight grin. "And I will have you know there is plenty of knowledge to be gained through a select application of force."
Pff, 'heat retention.' Rule of Cool! Or would it be the 'Rule of Overheating' in that case.
Once more gently propelling herself through the void toward the nearest airlock, she says "I'll have to get back to you on potential music, though I feel certain at least someone is going to suggest 'Spaceman' at some point. I might lean toward more orchestral, something open and atmospheric. If we're good here I'm going to pop back inside and warm up some tea."
