I Fly Through The Air With The Greatest Of Ease

Maria Foster has posed:
It's late at night in New Lots. The rough part of town has started to wind down for the most part. So there are few people out and about who might happen to look up into the air and notice a form flying above them.

The silhouette is small and vaguely human, though it seems a bit distorted. This is because the person is wearing a cloak from which dozens and dozens of long tassels of cloth hang, billowing about them as they fly through the air.

Fly? More like fall. The hooded figure waves their arms in a way that most flying heroes and villains do not. A definite sense of worry from them as they move in the same kind of arc as a thrown baseball would. But as they near the ground, they slow awkwardly, and then hit the ground, tumbling and eventually coming to a stop on their back.

"Ow."

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen sees someone falling and heads to check to see if the person is ok. Impulse in costume is arriving on the scene, seeing the person hit the ground as he gets tp the scene he winces "You ok?" He asks.

Maria Foster has posed:
Maria Foster looks up in surprise, not having realized there was anyone about to witness her attempted flight. Or more like falling with grace. At this point, minus the grace.

She has the hood of her dark cloak up, and has a domino mask around her eyes just to be safe. The cloak and its tassels do hide her figure somewhat. It is kind of like wearing a scaled down ghillie suit like snipers wear, but just with dark tassels instead of something that blends in with a natural setting. Good for obscuring her shape at night though.

Though Bart can get a sense of her small stature at least. "Oh, ah, yeah, nothing hurt beyond my pride. And, my bottom, maybe a knee and elbow and shoulder," a girl's voice says. As if to at least prove nothing is hurt badly, she slowly gets back to her feet and dusts herself off. "Wait, you're..." she says, eyeing the costume. "Please tell me you're a hero?"

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen nods his head and says "I'm Impulse." He offers her his hand, and says "I take it your new at this whole thing? You fly? Maybe glide?" He asks her studying her a bit.

Maria Foster has posed:
Maria Foster takes the hand, her own smaller hand also giving that impression of her slight stature. "I... don't have a name. I just... ah, yeah. No, I mean I can't fly. Or glide. I can kind of... throw myself into the air though. Or pull myself up."

The cloaked girl glances to each side of her, reaching a hand out each direction as if towards something. And then she pops up into the air like she was tossed. Not very high> just a few feet. And then she's falling, and slows herself at the last moment, landing a little hard.

"It took a lot of time to build up the courage to try going that high," she says, glancing up in the air. Shew as about 30 feet up at the top of the ballistic arc she flew in.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen hmmms and scratches his chin a bit to this and says "So, you can grab things that are there to you, but not to others.... You thought about maybe trying the spiderman type moving?"

Maria Foster has posed:
"Well, it's... it's metal. I can push against metal. Or pull it," she says after a moment's hesitation. As if maybe deciding whether to share that or not.

She digs into a pocket of her cloak and pulls out a few coins. She holds out one on her palm away from Impulse. And suddenly it launches through the air, hard enough to bury itself in the brick of the alleyway they are in.

Right as it hits the wall though, the girl is tossed back a foot or too before she steadies herself. "It's... it takes some learning," she says sheepishly. "But, yeah, I think, maybe I can do something like that. If there's a skyscraper near enough. Though if I pull too hard I'll just fly at it. So I need to learn control enough I can just push or pull equal to my weight when I want?"

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen hmmmms and says "Are you working with anyone who is trying to help you learn your abilities?" He asks her, thinking about when he Tim, and Conner were young heroes.

Maria Foster has posed:
The cloaked girl gives a quick shakes of her head, the tassels on the upper part flitting about her. "No. No, I'm just... trying to figure things out," she says in a sheepish voice. "I'm not... I'm not really a hero or anything. I just... ah... I don't know. It's probably stupid that I'm trying to do as much as I am,"O she says, hooded head drooping a bit and her shoulders shrugging.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen hmmms and says "So, are you wanting to become a hero? Whats your end game plan here, if I may ask"

Maria Foster has posed:
"Plan? Plan? You clearly don't know me very well," the anonymous girl says with a self-deprecating laugh. "I don't know, I'm just... trying to see what I can do, I guess."

She looks down at her cloak. "I figured this would look kind of cool with all the tassels flying about if I'm soaring through the air. And also, ah... you know. Just, protecting myself. From... people."

She slips her hand with the coins back into her pocket, returning the ones she didn't shoot into the wall.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen hmmms and says "Have you thought about looking into Happy Harbor as a school? They might be able to help you, and trust me, I know about not having plans, sorta what I am known for."

Maria Foster has posed:
The figure shakes their head. "I'm not really a school sort of person," she says. "I'll just, um, you know. Try and not... splat myself like a bug," she replies hesitantly.

"Speaking of, I'm going to give it another try. See if I can't land a little softer," the girl says. She raises a hand to wave to Impulse. "Was nice of you to come and check on me. But, please don't tell people about me, ok?"

She barely waits for an answer before turning and seeming to get her bearings. And then she drops a penny on the ground just a little behind her, and reaches a hand out towards it. She suddenly launches into the air, flying in arc about 20 feet high, and off into the night.

Bart Allen will move to toss her a card and says "If ya need help call me." He moves to watch her, and see how she does this time.
