- Waylon Jones has posed:
It's dark, damp, the preferred sort of weather for Killer Croc. The cold...not a huge fan of but it's survivable if you're eight feet tall and have a fire in front of you. Killer Croc is currently standing near a barrel in which a fire is burning, warming his hands. He mutters under his breath quietly about the injustice of the world, as he waits for...something to happen.
It's not that he's EXPECTING something to happen, just he's been in Gotham long enough to know that peace and quiet are temporary things for him. There is a bandage wrapped around his leg from where he suffered a bullet wound the other day while robbing a bank, but it doesn't appear he's any worse for the wear otherwise. Probably in fine fighting condition. There is a bottle of something brown and alcoholic next to him, which is probably also helping to keep him warm. To some extent.
- Barbara Gordon has posed:
Getting the Killer Croc off of the streets again, was one of Barbara's primary objectives. Over the past couple nights, she has had her drone swarm moving throughout the city, looking for any sign of the very easily sighted figure. It wasn't as though there were a lot of seven foot tall reptile men wandering Gotham City, afterall. Thus, when one of her drone scouts caught the sight of him in the old abandoned amusement park, Batgirl set off from the Clocktower...
It was a day after Christmas. She had spent yesterday with family, but tonight? She was back in the cold, the dank, and the dark night of Gotham. The snow still clung to the ground in most places, but the barrel fire that the cold blooded killer was warming himself beside, made it all the more easy to track him down.
He might feel it, before it happened. A sudden deeper quiet fell over his surroundings, before a burst of a shock weapon shot out at him from behind. Shock Bolos, flying toward the back of the giant Croc Man!
He'd clearly been made! Again...
- Waylon Jones has posed:
Killer Croc is not exactly 'ready' for this ambush, that's what makes it an ambush afterall! He isn't caught ENTIRELY off guard, but the sudden silence gets his croc senses going, and he starts to move about a thousandths of a second before Batgirl fires off her first salvo. This saves him from taking a direct hit, and instead the shocker glances off his thick hide armor. Though, it does give him a rather nasty burst of electricity, which elicits a loud roar from the half-man, half-croc.
"Can't a mutant relax in peace here?" he shouts in the direction the familiar smell of Batgirl is coming from. He sprints down one of the alleyways, between broken down amusement rides, away from Batgirl for the time being. Is he trying to escape again, or is he drawing her into a trap?
- Barbara Gordon has posed:
When you fight the Batgirl, you have to fight a lot of high tech devices. Case in point, even as the Croc goes running, he is being followed overhead. A number of Bat-drones are gliding at a near silent stalking mode, tailing the tailed criminal, and feeding Batgirl the developing direction that the savage beast was headed.
When he took to the sky, Batgirl did as well. Her grapple gun launched her up in to the air, and her black and dark gold cape went rigid, as she flew after the fleeing beast.
While from above, a shower of smoke pellets rained down from her drone swarm, peppering the ground ahead of the Croc! She was closing in, and should the smoke slow him, she'd likely be upon him again.
- Waylon Jones has posed:
The smoke does it's job of slowing him down, but not because he's running any slower. Mostly because he keeps banging into things that are in his path. Being an eight foot tall crocodile DOES have some advantages though, and one of those is being able to barrel through obstacles. Even pretty sturdy ones. Batgirl will have no trouble following his heat signature, and the sound of him sprinting away. And then he ducks into a building, one that may have once been a house of mirrors, but is now totally not that at all with all the punk teens coming in and wrecking everything.
"Try and get me now!" he yells over his shoulder as he heads through the door. Maybe there's a back entrance he's thinking of going out of, or perhaps he has an entrance to his real lair, the sewers, inside. Either way, he's CLEARLY happy to let Batgirl chase him into the decrepit structure.
- Barbara Gordon has posed:
A wall of smoke rolled in after the Croc, as he scampered in to the old fun house for cover, and with it a moment of respite from the attack was acquired. When he began to settle in to his new surroundings, as filthy as they are now, he'd hear a bit of motion from the old ceiling above. Water damage lined the ceiling, with old cables and broken light fixtures dangling down from their fasteners that were long rusted. Something was up there, though, or at least had been...
The Croc was given nearly one full minute to make use of whatever he wanted within the darkened old fun house, before the next attack came. From behind.
It was a powerful kick, from the Batgirl's strength enhanced suit. she lunged from a deep shadowy corner, that lead to a old storage area off of the fun house. Batgirl had come in through the ceiling access there, apparently.
She lunged at him with a hard kick, then moved in to rush him with a grapple attachment meant to lock him to the ground. Her cape billowed around her, her red hair flowing over her right shoulder, as she leveled the grapple weapon at his chest, and launched it with a burst of exhaust pouring from the grapple gun's barrel!
- Waylon Jones has posed:
A minute is a long time, but not quite enough for Killer Croc to get to where he wants. He is just getting to the entrance to the sewers when the ceiling above him collapses, and down comes Batgirl. She connects solidly with her kick, staggering him, but...despite the suit, he's still quite strong and is able to keep his feet. The grappler...well...that just gets a toothy grin from the mutant, "Oh...you want to get nice and close, do you girl?" he asks, and then he starts to pull on the cord, sharply.
Where Barbara has an enhanced strength suit, Croc has enhanced strength, period. His yank is meant to pull her up against him, where he can start to do damage to that suit, one arm wrapped around her waist to hold her against him, as he starts to work off parts of it, clawed hand crumpling the material of the suit, and starting to tear it away. "Might be a mistake, might be the last one you make..." he growls in the 'ear' of the bat costume that Barbara wears.
- Barbara Gordon has posed:
The Croc was impressively strong. Batgirl knew this, she'd faced off against him before. But getting a refresher course, ended up with him pulling on her grapple line, and tugging her across the room. Her dark gold boots slid across the floor, that was covered in detritus from the crumbling building, and she ended up directly in front of him. Her green eyes were the only part of her upper face not hidden by her mask, but they were visibly wider as he yanked her close. She grit her teeth, as he tore at her suit, tearing a segment of her left bicep armor off, and tossing it aside, before she activated another element of her gear.
A shocking blast, that burst from her grapple gun, yet again meant to stun the creature before her. The grapple gun fired its back hook out, right down in to the ground, the two cables being wound toward one another, the method of madness in this tech meant to lock a powerful man such as the Croc down to the floor.
With a grunt, and a cry, Batgirl darted back away, her cape spinning as she twirled herself around!
- Waylon Jones has posed:
The close proximity to Batgirl means that he can't dodge this shock, and she gets him /GOOD/ with it. With a scream of rage, Croc endures the blast of electricity frying his central nervous system. During this time, Batgirl is able to disentangle from him, though he does get a chunk of her armor to come away with his claws. He is also caught in the grapple, as they try to pin him down. His strength sapped, he isn't QUITE as powerful as he was a moment or two before...but after he takes a breath, he gives a hard yank, and the hooks snap out of the concrete flooring.
"Don't try and cage me, Batgirl. You won't like what happens next," he warns, and then he starts to stagger off towards his escape point again. He's not as fast as he was a few moments ago, but he's still surprisingly quick for something his size. He is nearly at the entrance to the sewers...and if he gets there Barbara must know that Croc is gone to ground for days, if not weeks.
- Barbara Gordon has posed:
The Croc had been a proverbial thorn in Batgirl's side for some time now. Their initial scuffle had been almost a year ago, and had ended with Babs having to flee. She learned that night, not to follow him in to his territory, not alone anyway. Tonight, she hoped she could take him out before he got down a manhole IN to his territory. But with segments of her suit coming off, as they were admittedly designed to-- when enough force was applied in the right way, Babs knew she was rapidly becoming a much easier enemy to down for the Croc. He already had one of her arms disabled, even though the arm inside the suit was still fine, skin was peaking out now, and a light scrape of the Croc's claws. Abdomen armor had been pulled off as well, leaving multiple places where she was exposed to much deadlier attacks, and though this was almost unheard of for this generation of Barbara's suit, it was a testiment to the Croc's strength.
"Damnit..." Babs muttered quietly, as he ran for his lair entrance, or at least a tunnel to it. She stalked after him, with two of her drones flying down and in to the building now. One of them fired another stun burst at the Croc, while the second moved to hover over the access hatch, and drop a series of sleeping agent gas cannisters down toward the fleeing reptile man.
- Waylon Jones has posed:
The sleep cannisters do their job. Croc's extremely sensitive sense of smell makes it so he catches a whiff of what's inside them before they explode and he goes charging into a nice long dirt nap. He recoils, and darts back towards the room, though not directly at Batgirl. Not yet. He goes down onto his hands, and starts to quickly run away from the smoke and zapping and sleeping gas. "Leave me alone!" he bellows as he goes, darting down a side hallway, away from Batgirl.
- Barbara Gordon has posed:
The gas cannisters managed to cut him off from darting down his access hatch, which had Batgirl watching as the Croc rushed down an alternate corridor, deeper in to the old fun house. She heard him call out to her, as she moved in his wake, walking slowly, her cape gently swaying around her legs as she moved. Her drones lifted up from the ground, and hovered over either of Batgirl's shoulders. The drones operating as part of Babs' BCI, the brain computer interface that allowed her to walk agai, following her mixup with the Joker over a decade ago.
"You need help, Croc!" Batgirl called out, her voice augmented by a modulation system in her cowl that made her sound like some manner of a Succubus, demonic and evil. "Surrender. We will find you the help you need!" She called out, as her drones were moving ahead of her, feeding her information via her left forearm mounted display computer. Her eyes glanced down at it, as she walked after him, moving at a dedicated pace, slow and steady. "Come out..." Her feminine, yet demonic voice tried once more.
- Waylon Jones has posed:
The thing about Killer Croc is...sometimes he can just /hide/. You wouldn't think an eight foot tall half-man half-croc could disappear, but he has. At least for now, inside the funhouse. There is an eerie silence. Perhaps he'd ducked down into the sewers through an alternate entrance? Batgirl wouldn't have him on any of her scopes, he isn't showing any body heat signature, there's no sound from him. It's horror movie time.
And the tension is broken when out of a concealed closet Croc bursts. Where Batgirl jumped him from above, he tries to smash her against the wall across from him. His arms wrap around her again, as he goes to tackle her and drag her to the ground, where he has a distinct advantage in the fight. "Help! I'm not the one dressing up in Bat underwear, chasing people just trying to survive!" Notably though, he doesn't go to bite down on her. Crush her head or neck, go for the perhaps very easy kill shot with the girl pressed against the wall. Instead, he just holds her there, growling into her ear a threat, "Leave me alone, and leave in one piece, girl."
- Barbara Gordon has posed:
With every step that Batgirl took, the gold bat symbol that adorned her chest, gently waved back and forth over the right side of her chest, as it had been partially torn free from the segment of the suit that the Croc had ripped from her stomach. She paid no mind to the damage though, as the bulk of her suit was still functional, including her legs, which were arguably the most powerful part of her, especially with her suit's skeletal strength enhancements. Her boots quietly crunched on the floor of the old fun house, as she crept along, looking for the sizable Croc Man.
She paused near some of the shape-morphing mirrors, the mirrors covered in dirt, filth, and spray paint, but part of her form was still visible, in spite of it all.
It was here that the Croc ripped out of the shadows, and slammed right in to her. Her drones had moved ahead of her down the hallway, and the Croc's lunge had bumped the door shut, locking them inside a room with one large window that was covered by boards, while the rest of the room was filled with scattered debris. He slammed her against the wall, her cape rumpling up around her form, as she breathed in a heavy sigh, her chin up, and her right leg raised up to press her knee against his chest, keeping him SOME what at-bay between them.
She was breathing heavily, though, and green eyes were locked on his reptilian own. She heard his demands, and after a moment of silence, she spoke, her voice still demonic in tone, but barely above a whisper.
"Fine." She said. "Release me, and I will let you disappear down your sewer drain." She said, a bit of vitriol within the words.
