Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney had recovered physically as much as she was going to from her ordeal thanks to her healing factor, but she hadn't been quite as energetic as she usually was. She was a bit more reserved, as she had first been when she got out of Alchemax's clutches. Some things wouldn't change though: like the ever present need for a teen girl to raid the fridge for snacks.

Fridge door open likely letting out all the cold air, her head is stuffed inside peering over all the different options with a sigh of indecision.

Logan Howlett has posed:
"Gonna let all the cold air out," Logan grunts in a stereotypical adult comment. He closes the sliding glass door to the backyard behind him and brushes his fingers back through his hair. He sniffs the air and rolls a shoulder before he crosses the room. He leans on the kitchen's island and watches Gabby, either waiting for access to the fridge, or looking over her to see how she is doing.

Probably both.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney lifts her head to peek over her shoulder at Logan with a hint of a smile though she turns her attention right back to the open door. "Yeah. Hungry but can't figure out what I want." Another moment of indecision, and she snags a can of soda for the moment freeing up the fridge for his inspection. The tab is pulled back letting out a bubbly hiss from the drink.

"I'm okay, if that's what you're wondering," she offers after another moment. "I wasn't worried about me. I can heal. The others couldn't." Of course, she couldn't either with the collar on her, but that goes unsaid.

Logan Howlett has posed:
Once she's out of the way he leans in and opens the meat drawer. He withdraws two big steaks and nods to her. He sets them on a plate before he turns the stove on to pre-heat, and also starts heating a cast iron pan. "Mn. Good. Glad everyone made it out. I was on-mission elsewhere."

Logan has always worked best alone, which is one of the reasons he has so rarely been around for the group missions. He's bent sent-off to do other solo things.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
That piques her curiosity at least. Something to talk about OTHER than what she'd been through. Gabby tilts her head as she hops up to perch on the kitchen island using it as a chair. "What was it about? I mean, if you can tell me," she adds with a little shrug. "I get it if you can't. Laura's like that sometimes, too." Of course hers usually involved gang members and guns.

A long slow sip of her soda is taken as she rolls her shoulders back trying to relax a little.

Logan Howlett has posed:
Logan is quiet for a moment as he considers how to answer. "There was a kid in the midwest. Tiny little town. Real small. Less then one hundred residents. Powers activated. I got sent to see if he could be recruited or if his powers were...too dangerous."

There is no new kid at the school.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"Oh." That... wasn't a very good story to tell, really, though it does cause Gabby to glance down at her feet. A little nod is given in apparent understanding. "I'm sorry. Are you all right?" She asks after a moment with her attention fixing on him. It was hard to guage his emotions at times. Maybe just asking would help. For a moment she considers quietly.

"What was his name? I want to put something together for the ones that didn't make it out... I can add him in. Nothing big, just... Something."

Logan Howlett has posed:
"I'm fine, kiddo. I get sent for a reason." She knows better then that, of course. He's not all cold rage like some folks think. But it's easier for him to present that front. "Now, let's put some meat on those bones. I know how hungry we can get."

He seasons the steaks with salt and pepper, glancing at the pan to wait for it to get searing hot.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
As if to prove that point her stomach does rumble at the smell of the cooking steak causing her to pat her stomach. "A bit yeah," she has to admit. "We mostly got oatmeal while... guh. I don't want to think about oatmeal for awhile." Besides, steak was so much better.

Gabby leans over to watch a bit as the steaks cook and she considers how it's done. It wasn't often she got to watch someone cooking. Laura's best bet was having delivery on speed dial.

"So... How's thing going otherwise? I mean, I don't really visit as often as I should I guess. Besides, last time I went out that way I saw Jean heading in and figured I'd try another time."

Logan Howlett has posed:
He smirks a bit and shrugs a shoulder. The steaks hit the pan and begin to sizzle. He watches them carefully as he talks. "Not too bad, all considered. Usual shit. And yeah...probably a good idea that you didn't swing by," the man says with a small chuckle, glancing back at Gabby.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney blinks at that particular chuckle. A chuckle, from him? She stares at him a few moments longer as things are pieced together, and then she crinkles her nose. "Eeeeew!" She was still a kid after all, but old enough to make some guesses. Her tongue sticks out along with a few other pulled faces before she shakes her head sharply. "Reeally glad then." Now what do you say to that anyway? A deep breath is taken, and huffed out. "Jean's nice though." There. There's that. Sort of approval perhaps.

Logan Howlett has posed:
He smirks and flips the steaks, giving them nice crust on both sides. "Glad ya think so. Known her for a long time." He brushes his fingers back through his hair with his free hand, before he glances over at her.

"If I tell you where I have my beer in the kitchen stashed away, you promise me you won't snag some when I'm not lookin'?"

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney considers that question a moment before giving a quick nod of agreement. "I can do that." Well, she might be a little sneak theif at times, but she was always honest about it. So it was likely a good guess she'd be honest about this, too. With a little scoot she hops off the kitchen island counter to her feet taking care not to spill her soda in the process. "Where are they?"

Logan Howlett has posed:
He nods after a moment before he points over to the fridge. "Vegetable bin. Brussel sprouts box." If she goes and looks there are, in fact, beers hidden away in the generally untouched box. He picks up the pan and slides it into the stove, closing it.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney grins at the explanation and she turns toward the fridge to get the requested beer. The door is tugged open and she zeroes in on that veggie bin and the apparent veggies of doom no one bothers to touch. Opening it up she 'huhs' quietly only to shrug, and pull one out which she brings over to Logan. See? Good little helper.

"Gonna have to teach me to cook sometime. Laura's... not so great at it. I mean I like pizza and chinese don't get me wrong."

Logan Howlett has posed:
"I'll show you real chinese food sometime," he grunts. He takes the beer with a nod and crackes it open one-handed before he takes a sip. He leans back against the counter.

"I'm not the best teacher, but...sure. Do what I can. How is she, by the way?"

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"Pissed off. Really pissed off. She was worried a lot about me," Gabby explains with a little duck of her head. "I don't remember how they got me, those memories are gone. Or hidden, or something. From what I've been told though I was ganged up on at the edge of the property while I was out for a run." Her nose crinkles at that. "She says she's not letting me out of her sight again. I appreciate it but she isn't always going to be there."

Logan Howlett has posed:
"Eh, she gets that from me, I think. You get mad when you fel powerless. I get it."

He opens the stove and pulls out two perfectly medium rare and seasoned steaks.

He sets them on the counter and gestured for Gabby to grab some plates.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"No... No, I get that too," Gabby agrees as she watches Logan move the steaks from the stovetop to the oven. THAT was curious. He tells her to get plates though, so she's heading to the counter to clamber up onto it so she can reach the cupboard. Darn being short. It doesn't stop her at least.

"Why put it in the oven after? Didn't you already cook it?" She asks, quite glad to have the topic be something as mundane as cooking right now. As opposed to other things.

Jean Grey has posed:
"And why, for the love of God, Logan... are you not using the sous vide? It far better than doing it that way." Jean is leaning in the door, watching Logan with a wry expression. Currently she's wearing a green silk blouse and blue jeans, seeming to look a little better than she has. But there's still something bothering her, that Logan would pick up pretty easy.

And that bother? It increases when she sees, "Oh, hey there Gabby. I'm not intruding, am I?" Not that she's worried about that, so much as she's... pretty well aware of what that clone of hers did.

Logan Howlett has posed:
"Because I'm a damn ludite," he says with a grunt. He then looks to Gabby as he sips his beer. "Sear it, then cook it to medium rare in the oven. Perfect cook."

He steps away and makes his way over to Jean, looking up at her. "Hey, red. How you feeling? Want me to toss another steak on?," he asks.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney glances over at Jean with a grin that falters a moment as she recalls the 'news' she'd just peiced together not so many minutes ago. Her expression doesn't turn hateful, or angry, or even cold. Just... sort of confused a moment. It passes though, and she lifts her free hand to wave toward her before returning to pulling out some plates.

"Hi Jean. It's okay," she assures, "I'm a clone and grew up around clones. I know that wasnt' you," she assures assuming that's what the look she received was about.

"Just don't get kissy in front of me, ew."

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean actually laughs at the kissy comment, "Don't worry, Gabby, we'll restrain ourselves until you're not around." She winks, and looks pretty relieved at that, "And that clone isn't going to be doing what she did to anyone else."

That said, she gives Logan a bit of a troubled smile, "Another steak sounds perfect. Got any sides ready for it, or are you just being a carnivore today?" A bit of a tease, as she comes into the kitchen proper, giving Logan a warm hug, but no kisses since Gabby made the request. Logan would know that she's definitely bothered by something.

Logan Howlett has posed:
"Mn. You wanna wip any sides up in the next fifteen or so while it cooks, be my guest." He smirks a bit at gabby's statement to Jean and turns to make his way back to the fridge. He plucks out another steak and drops it in the hot pan, beginning to sear it on the stove.

"sorry I wasn't there to help." Jean knows he has a tendency to be sent off for more...rough jobs. The ones others don't want to hear about or can't hear about. This was no different.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney is minorly relieved when no kissy stuff happens. She was hungry and wasn't sure she'd be hungry after that. Another plate added to the pile she slips off the counter to her feet to start setting up an area for them all at the kitchen island. "What do you eat with steak anyway?" It's not that she hadn't HAD steak, it was just usually barbecued out back or on a stick at coney island that one time. "I mean, I'm up for whatever. I'm kind of starving." She'd had a lot of healing to do lately.

Jean Grey has posed:
Jean nods at Logan, "Well, think we have some fresh corn in there, I know a trick to prep it pretty fast..." She grins, and puts a couple cobs in a ceramic container, and puts in some water and... sets it in the microwave???

"Yeah, I know, it's weird, but it's effective." She glances over her shoulder at Logan, "I wish you were there too, Logan... but well, we took care of it. And I did what I had to do." With that, she pauses again, and looks over at Gabby again, then shakes her head slightly.

"Corn is typical for me, if we had time I'd do some baked potatoes fully loaded with them. We used to do a lot of grilling but... well, hrm." She digs around the cupboards, and ahas, "Well, it's not as good as baked, but I did have an emergency stash of instant potatoes... yeah, it's not as good as fresh, but I'm apparently on the clock." She gives Logan a wry look, sticking her tongue out at him as she seems to be cheering up a little bit.

Logan Howlett has posed:
He squints when she puts the corn in the microwave, but then he chuckles. He goes to the fridge and opens the veggie drawer, opening the never touched brussel spouts package...to reveal hidden beers.

He tosses Jean one before he closes the fridge again. She smirks at Jean's look and shrugs.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney holds up her hands at the newly revealed beers. "I did not tell anyone where they were or were not," she professes innocently. Of course she'd only just found out herself a short bit ago. A grin is given as she finds herself relaxing around these familiar people though. The lure of food was likely a good thing as well, and she takes note of the microwave trick curiously before taking a sip of her own drink. Just soda for her.

"Sooo. Are *you* okay, Jean? I know there was a lot of nasty stuff in that building when you guys came to get us." Even if she wasn't aware of Jean's own actions, she knew there was plenty of death, gore and other horrors there.
